Error #2032 while playing videos on msn.ca - all browsers MAC OSX 10.6.8
Dear abode experts,
I need your help as I am frankly desperate.
When I try to play an video on msn.ca, I get error #2032 on all my browsers (firefox, chromse, safari) and the video never loads or plays.
I am using MAC OS X 10.6.8 and flash player is up to date v 12.0
Your expertise in resolving this issue is immensly appreciated...
From what I've read on this, it's a "bad gateway" error. Usually people (Flash Developers) see it when they have a bad file path to a Flash Object on their testing server. That's not the case here, but it can also be caused by firewall settings. That would make more sense, because you're seeing it with ALL browsers, and Chrome uses a different plug-in than Safari or Firefox.
Check your Firewall settings (http://blink.ucsd.edu/technology/security/firewall/mac-snow.html), and... if you have Antivirus (please tell me you didn't make the mistake of putting that junk on a Mac), disable it or better yet, remove it altogether.

Try to download the application VLC.
It is a media player that should be able to play any audio or video file you may have. If your videos play flawlessly using that application, then the issue is with iTunes and Quicktime, as they are both essentially similar software types when it comes to playing media.
In that case you may need to install a plug-in file called Perian, in order for the videos to play correctly within iTunes or at least Quicktime... -

This is my first iphone but have used ipod touch for years. What settings should I have to hear phone call rings while playing videos?
There is no setting for that on the phone. Some carriers provide ringback tones, which play instead of the caller hearing a ring. But I am not aware of an app that would play a message prior to you picking up the phone. The amount of time before you pick up is not a constant, and if it lasts too long, then the call would go to voicemail.

Thanks in advance!!This might happen if some memory extensive application ,like an antivirus or some other mobile management softwares are running in the background.
You can start by checking if stopping /removing these apps correct the problem.
Else sometimes viruses in the memory card can cause this, try removing any external memory and play something from the phone memory. -
My Macbook pro keeps freezing while playing videos
experience frequent stalls/hangs, accompanied by the spinning beach ball progress indicator every time I play video's. weither it be on youtube or VLC player or any video player for that matter. It happens during games I have on here and also happens when loading iMovie and Final Cut Pro.

Ran into this problem a few times while attempting to erase the hard drive: the erasing/formatting would fail when the hard drive would randomly disappear from the list of drives!!!!
And as you can suspect - even with a freshly wiped hard drive, it STILL is freezing!! It's not a hard freeze like everything stops working, or I get the grey screen of death...the beach ball just keeps on spinning, Command+Tab doesn't allow me to switch between apps, but I can move the cursor around, adjust window positions, etc.
So here's what I'm suspecting - there is a hardware problem with the hard drive in that it will suddenly shut off, but leaving the OS still displaying, but of course not allowing the user to do anything. If this is the case, I'm assuming a replacement hard drive would be in order.
Is this likely a hard drive problem, logic board problem, over-heating problem, or what? Any insight would be extremely helpful.

Error -108 while exporting video for Apple TV
Anyone have a clue why I would be getting at error -108 in QuickTime Pro while converting an MPEG-4 file to Apple TV format? I was just doing File/Export and selecting "Movie to Apple TV" as the export format.
I'm using QT Pro on Vista. The full error message is "Error -108: An unknown error has occured." It came up (probably) at the very end of the export. (The export seemed to running fine, and it was past 50% when I left to go out for awhile. The error was up on the screen when I came back.) The source video is about 2.5 GB, and should be a fairly normal MPEG-4 video, 30fps, 720x480. The error message itself isn't very helpful, obviously.sorry, are you sure?
when I bought my ATV I compared ATV1 and ATV2 and the video performances are the same, infact I play my video in 1280x720 with my ATV but it is convert with toast.
I compared the same video in ATV (720p) and in mpeg 2 (1920x1080 25 Mb/sec) with my medley 4geek and the quality is the same.

Apple TV 1 will only play 720p movies at 24 or 25 fps up to 5 Mbps or 960 x 540 at 30 fps, the Apple TV will play video at all frame rates at 720p and around about double the data rate.
Are you sure your camera produces mpeg2 files. If so you might not see an awful lot of difference between the original and the converted videos because h264 is significantly more efficient than mpeg2, although I'd expect you to see some. If your files from your camera are actually h264 wrapped in an mpeg2 container then I'd expect you to see more difference.

Possibly because when you are using toast you are choosing a datarate that is compatible with the Apple TV (ie 5 Mbps or less), whereas if you are using (for example) quicktime preset for the Apple TV, you might be making files that are compatible with the Apple TV 2 but not the Apple TV 2, but it's difficult to say without knowing what settings you are using. -
Sound delay while playing video in iTunes.

When playing video in iTunes the sound is increasingly delaying and after approximately 10 seconds it becomes almost impossible to watch the video. When you move to the other part of the video, the sound is back to normal for a short time and then becomes delayed again.
When video is playing, it is possible to hear that sound is not smooth, but has very minor breaks. The video is downloaded to the computer. I opened this video with Windows Media Player and QuickTime and it works good, but, unfortunately, it does not work correctly while playing in iTunes player.
I experience this problem on Windows 7 32-bit.
Please, help with this problem.

Hi,
I have an iPod Touch 4th generation 64GB that i use connected to my 2011 BMW M5 purchased with all multimedia and iPod/iPhone options available from factory.
The car lets me play music and video playlists from the iPod and the videos can be seen on the BMW iDrive screen, when i was in iOS4 everything worked perfectly, but then i updated to iOS5 and one problem arised and then updated to iOS6 and now to iOS6.1 but the problem still persists, basically the problem consists that sometimes video size and aspect ratio of videos displayed in the car display are wrong, and some times the same videos are displayed correctly. It is just random, sometimes is OK and sometimes it is wrong, but when it starts to display wrongly, all videos following are displayed wrongly.
After trying everything i discovered that while a video is playing with wrong size and aspect ratio, i can correct this behavior, sometimes manually unlocking the iPod and entering the "Music" app and exiting, and sometimes entering the iPod configuration and exiting, just entering and exiting, and sometimes doing both of them one after another. This is a temporary sollution because it is really disturbing to do this process while driving with the iPod inside the cradle in the armrest. I wish i could downgrade to iOS4.1 where i was before and everything worked perfectly, as there are no new features i care in iOS5 or 6.
I tried restoring the device in iTunes... 5-6 times in total since iOS5 release, tried using an iPhone 4s with iOS6 and the same problem happens, so obviously it is a bug present in latter iOS that it is not initializing correctly the screen when requested by external accessories.

Thanks and excuse my english.You say your turning it off does that mean you are holding in the sleep button and sliding the unit off or does it mean you are just locking the unit with the screen off?
If you have the Wifi enabled and only have the IPT in standby mode then this is why it's depleting the battery so quickly. Charge the unit till it's full with the little plug showing and then eject it and turn off wifi and leave the unit in standby overnight and see if the battery depletes at all.
I've noticed that Wifi really ***** the life out of the battery very quickly so give it a try and report back to us. -
Marking while playing video in the event browser
I recently switched from PC to Mac specifically to edit our home family videos. My question is how do I mark an end point in my video when viewing the video in the event browser? I understand that I could select a range of frames by clicking and dragging the yellow selection box, however I want to play the video (using the spacebar)and then stop, and mark, the video at a certain point. As soon as I move my cursor, the playhead disapears and I loose my last position. I am forced to click and drag the right of the yellow selection box to my end point but I find it not as precise as simply marking a spot while playing live playback. Any suggestions?
While playing the clip in the event browser (with nothing selected):
- press spacebar to pause
- press shift+right-arrow to mark the in point
- press spacebar to resume playback
- press spacebar to pause
- press shift+right-arrow to mark the out point
You can now use left and right arrow keys to move your entire selection or use shift+right-arrow and shift+left-arrow to move the out point and resize your selection. When you're done, press E to add the selected range to the project window.
