Error -2147023174 with DI Server

Recently I restarted DI Server service on the customer's server after loading a new license file. After restart, DI Server returns fault number -2147023174 for all requests. There are no hints for the cause of the problem in the Windows event viewer.
We have tried restarting the DI Server as well as restarting the whole server. We have also tried reloading the previous as well as the current license key. We even removed and reinstalled server tools altogether. No help, the error message persists.
Before the restart, the DI Server had been running for a week without problems. I suppose there might have happened some change on the server during those days and the problem might only have activated after the restart.
Has anyone seen this error message before? I already filed a message at the service marketplace, but nowadays it seems I have no hope of getting a response from them in less than a week, even when the message status is "high".

Thanks for the tip. Actually the problem was not DCOM settings, as those were the first thing I modified after reinstalling the server tools. The problem was mysteriously fixed when I omitted the license server element from the login message.
For a while I was wondering what could possibly cause this  phenomenon. The thread you are pointing to has the explanation: in our case there was another DI Server application that was using a different (but valid) IP address for license server in their DI Server calls. This caused a conflict with the value in SLIC table.
I suppose when I omit the license server address from the login message, DI Server is using the value found in SLIC table.

    DCR Server may be down. Please start the DCR Server and then refresh  the page.
    But when I checked the DCRServer process status from Process Status Report and the Process List, it's Running normally.

    I have a simple form which allows users to submit receipts as attachments.  I have some required identifying information (name, etc.) and then three optional slots for attachments, along with optional text boxes for descriptions.  The form tests fine with attachments on my computer and on a couple other computers we tested with.
    However, I am getting complaints from several users that they see the following message when they hit "Submit": "An error has occurred. There was an error communicating with the server. Please try again later."  Any ideas why this might be or how I can fix it?

    This usually caused by a customised hosts file.
    These need to be the only entries in your /etc/hosts file:-
    # Host Database
    # localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
    # when the system is booting.  Do not change this entry.
    127.0.0.1       localhost
    255.255.255.255 broadcasthost
    ::1             localhost
    fe80::1%lo0     localhost
    Remove anything below these entries, then try and reconnect with GC. Once GC starts properly you can put the extra entries back in your hosts file, GC should start normally afterwards.

    As per the error message that you are getting E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEYplease follow the steps as given below.
    1) Open Adobe Digital Editions.
    2) Press Ctrl+Shift+D key of your Keyboard and deauthorize Digital Editions
    3) Move your e-books to some different Location.
    4) uninstall Adobe Digital Editions from your computer.
         Click start>>Control Panel>>Add or remove Program
         Select Adobe Digital Editions from the list and Delete.
    5) Also delete following files.
        Click Start>>Run
        Type "regedit" without quotes in the box and hit enter.
        Locate the following key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Adobe>Digital Editions"
        delete the full folder (Right click on it and click delete).
         Also locate HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Adobe>Adept
         Delete the full folder.
    6) Now download and install Adobe Digital Editions from the link given below.
         http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/
    7) When asked to authorize computer then please enter same Adobe ID and password and authorize the same.

    Installed digital editions, downloaded my book. Started reading, then needed to reboot machine. once I rebooted, I tried to open ADE once more, but I again had to "reactivate" the machine... once I try to reactive it I keep n getting stuck (whether I chose to authorize or not authorize the machine is irrelevant) on the same error...

    regarding the E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEY error...
    We can't tell you -exactly- what this is, but we can give you some general direction.
    On the Mac, Digital Editions 1.5 stores an encryption key (to make sure our client to server calls are secure) in your OS X Keychain.
    If there is a problem creating this key then E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEY is the error you'd see.
    The key information is stored as an application password in your keychain. Likely causes of failure include denying access to Digital Editions, or locking your user keychain, and not entering their password when prompted.
    If you're denying access explicitly to Digital Editions, well don't do that (ha. )
    Now, you may not be doing this intentionally. The access permissions on OS X are complicated, so this could be a side effect of some other permission work. You can explicitly grant Digital Editions access to the the keychain item:
    Open Keychain Access (Applications/Utilities)
    Select Passwords from Category
    Select Digital Editions from password list
    Click info button (or press Cmd+i)
    (Dialog labeled Digital Editions should appear)
    Select Access Control tab
    Click + button
    Navigate to our install directory and select ADE 1x5
    Click Save
    Close Dialog
    Launch Digital Editions.
    Anyway, hopefully this helps you narrow the issue down.

  • ICal Error syncing with iCloud: server responded with "507" to operation CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperation.

    iCal returns a "Server responded with "507" error
    I have had this problem "resurface" regularly.
    My last discussion with Apple Support  lasted over 3 hours and Tech Support reached two conclusions;
    1) Each Icloud user is allocated an undisclosed amount of memory for their calendars.
    A user receives this error when you exceed this amount.
    You cannot buy more storage, you do not know when this is going to happen and you cannot prevent it.
    The error occurs when you exceed your limited, fixed amount of storage. 2) The only way to "fix" this is to delete events that are taking up too much storage. However, Apple doesn't have software that identifies the size of events (Apple referred me to expensive 3rd party software, Busy Cal , that doesn't work).
    Any thoughts / ideas / work around you might have on this would be HIGHLY appreciated :-)

    How do you find out how much memory/ storage your iCal is currently using ? I wasn't able to find this on Settings. Also, any "effective" ways to search for 'heavy' attachments, or recurring items that might be clogging the account ?
    The Calendars folder contains the relevant calendar data. It is located in the Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library Folder. To find the correct Library folder, use Finder>Go Menu>Depress the "Option" key>Library. When you find the Calendars folder use the keyboard shortcut ⌘I to find out how much data it contains. That may, or may not be the same amount of information stored in iCloud, but it must be very similar. Use the same shortcut to find out how much data is stored in the sub-folders. Opening the attachmets folder should display the relevant attachment data. As a word of caution, do not delete, change, or modify the Calendars folder or the data contained therein in any way shape or form.

    I had some problem to setup my PC to run an application as a VI Server. I always had the error #1379 "LabVIEW:  The user failed a security authentication check." when my client vi tries to connect to the Vi Server.

    So I try to install logos.mis that I found on the first CD of NI Device Drivers (D:\products\shared\logos\logos100). The problem: the logos installer starts but I obtain an empty window when they ask to select features to install (see picture attached) ???
    The followup by NI was to tell us to install NI-DAQmx 8.1. So, I install all default compoments suggested by the NI-DAQmx 8.1 installer.
    It works!
    But we need to install the minimum drivers on the PC that will run the app Vi Server.
    My question is:  Why the logos installer gave my an empty features window (if it suppose to solve my problem)? And, what is the compoment installed on the server by NI-DAQmx 8.1 that solve the problem?
    Application (exe) is running under a PC
    OS: Windows XP Sp2 or Microsoft Server 2003 Sp2
    Dev. with Labview 8.0.1
    Labview Runtime copied (all needed dll are copied locally next to the app)

    My ViServer:MachineAccess was previously set with "*". My problem was resolve by the only fact to install NI-DAQmx 8.1 on the PC that's run the VIServer.
    I saw in few posting that by only installing logos.msi (without any problem I supposed) solve the problem err #1379...
    The thing is that I am not able to use the logos.msi : no features to install available (see picture at the beginning of the thread).
    I want to install the minimum on my server PC, not all the NI-DAQmx 8.1 drivers.
    NOTE that I solve the problem by installing default compoments suggested from NI-DAQmx 8.1 (it install over 75 compoments!).
    How to know the only compoments (or mayby 2 or 3) needed to make the Vi Server running?
