Error 2738

I have downloaded the latest version of itunes. I try to install and I get error 2738 and that quicktime could not download. I tried downloading quicktime without itunes then downloading itunes and still same error. The solution people have given that says to download latest version of itunes 7.6 or later does not work. Please help or guide me in the right direction to someone who can.

The 2738 is a VBScript problem ... the technique described in the following post is probably still worth a try:

Sometimes it's other Windows Script components that are deregistered with one of these. Try running the fixit from the following Microsoft document (under Method 2):

Internal Error 2738 - Can't install Mobile Module 8.6

Hello,
i have installed the LabVIEW 8.6.1 in my notebook.
And i have tried to install the Mobile module 8.6, but i get the error all the time (error 2738).
i have tried to solve the problem by the following link, but the error still appears.

i use the windows 7 to install LabVIEW program. Is the mobile module not support the win7?
i hope someone have a solution for this problem... i really do't want to reinstall my system to vistal or xp >_<

Support for Windows 7 is not available yet. The only OS' that are supported are Windows Vista (32- and 64-bit)/XP/2000.

Installing LabView 8.6, Getting "Internal error 2738"

I had some trouble getting the TPC-2106 to work becuase I realized I had failed to install the drivers for it to use it as a project target. Vista installed the WMDC (windows mobile device center) program so I can browse the TPC as if it was a HD the second time I rebooted the device. I know I had problems installing LabView the first time a few weeks back, some errors of this and that (I don't recall them exactly).
Now I have tried to re-install LabView 8.6 Pro Dev [NI Developer Suite 4Dvds 2008 3rd Qtr] and got a series of Internal Error 2738's, and the latest one is for the touch screen driver set (2rd item to puke, 3rd of 40 I picked to install all items, so I killed the install). I will try to delete the old install of 8.6 and retry. I saw some stuff about a MS error with vbscript.dll on some other website..?...?
Anyone seen this? Why do I get this?

Hi Abales,
The issue seems to be with Microsoft VB Script as you rightly guessed. This doesn’t seem to be an NI issue, so I am not sure if this will fully resolve this.
However when looking into this issue, I came across a Microsoft Forum based on this issue.
They suggest to go START --> All Programs --> Accessories --> Command Prompt. You need to run this as an Administrator. To do this you need to right click on the Command Prompt at select Run as administrator.
Once you have done this, type regsvr32 vbscript.dll This will re-register the specific dll that maybe causing the issue.

Installing error 2738 HELP!!!

I have tried installing itunes over and over again, and each time I get the error 2738. I can get Quicktime but not itunes. I have uninstalled all files and tried again over and over again. same error 2738.

I receive error 2738 when trying to install QT alone, or as part of the new iTunes installation. It will not let me continue with either installation due to this unknown error, that it says may indicate a problem with the package.

Thanks. I do have 32 bit so went ahead, and ultimately it worked! Only moment of doubt was when I downloaded the patch it said that same/similar files already existed, and were newer. Did I wish to replace? I opted not to replace so clicked new. Presumably new and old are both on my system now. In any case, registering the dll went smoothly. Perhpas that's all I really needed to do? Would be helpful if they could update that solution to include reference to Vista users....

Help! Internal Error #2738 when installing CD

So, I have a brand new computer and when I try to install the CD that came with my Centro I get error 2738. I did a search and found out that 2738 is for VBscript. So, I went to windows and downloaded latest windows script (which, btw latest is for XP and vista). After installing I still get same error. Has anyone encountered a similar situation or have any tips for me? I would appreciate any help regarding this matter.

Hi,
I bought a Ipod Nano today and to put music on it i have to install iTunes 7.
But when i want to install it, after windows installer is preparing a unexpected error occurs and it stops. It gives error 2738..
It does not even start the actual installer of iTunes..
Can someone help me? Because my iPod is rather useless now

I got internal error 2738 after trying to install the marvell yucon ethernet adapter driver

I got the marvell yucon ethernet adapter driver on the acer support page. My laptop is an extensa 5420-5038 with vista sp2 32 bit. My wired lan is not working but the wireless is. The version of the acer driver is 10.12.8.3 if that would help. I think uninstalling the old software for the adapter must have failed during installation and I don't know what to do. I don't know how to find any old applications or machine language software for the adapter in the computer to uninstall before trying again if that is what I have to do. Do I have to go to the command prompt and do something?

Are you getting this error when you are actually downloading the installer from the Apple web site? Or are you getting the error when you attempt to install QuickTime on your computer, having successfully gotten (downloaded) it from Apple?

Cannot install to Vista - Error 2738

I am running Vista under boot camp. I downloaded the Safari beta, the installer gets most of the way "done" but then it fails with a dialog saying error 2738.
any ideas?

This was on a Microsoft Forum when iTunes wasn't working... it gave the same error 2738... I tried it and re-installed safari and it INSTALLED!!!!
1. Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right Click on Command
Prompt -> Run As Administrator.
2. If you don’t end up in the C:\windows\system32 folder, go there
3. Once there type in regsvr32 vbscript.dll and press enter
4. You should get a conformation message
5. Install safari

VZAM loading error 2738

Formerly had a USB 720 installed. Worked fine. Updated to LG VL600. Deleted all former VZAM files to avoid conflict. Tried to install from disc and downloaded file. Both yield Error 2738 (Could not access VB script run time for custom action). Am running Win 7 64 bit Current location of VB script is C:\windows\system32\vbscript.dll (v5.8.7600.16732) Have tried some of the suggested registry fixes to no avail. Any suggestions appreciated. TY

Won't load with error 2738

iTunes will not update because of error 2738. It also said something about quicktime not updating or loading either. I am about to recieve and iPhone and it will not sync with my version of iTunes, so I need help!

same problem. tries to install, gives the same error code (with no explanation) for both quicktime and 7.3. then takes me back to the install prompt after telling me the install could not be completed. I have Vista Home Premium, which I knew had issues with some software, but this is ridiculous. Apple even made me create a whole profile just to get into these discussions and get help so I could use my shiney new iPod I got for a gift. great customer service. thanks, Apple, for your wonderful systems.
