Error 2755?

How's that for a unique problem?
First of all, I never could get iTunes 6 to even start installing so this is a step forward, haha, as I actually managed to get the PROGRAM to crash rather than the installation... these are the problems:
- At least three copies of msiexec.exe appear during installation, and it's only when I end one of those (has to be the right one) that the installation even starts -- found this out by a fluke.
- After that it gets to the end of the installation, where it tells me that it could not create the values WinVersion and ActiveX for HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\Apple Computer, Inc\QuickTime and to check that I have proper access and such. (Yes, am logged in as admin.)
- Finally it gives me error 2755, saying "There might be a problem with the installation package". At times it skips step two and goes directly here at the beginning of the update and sometimes it never gets here but ends after the value thing.
All error messages are paraphrased as I'm running the installation in Swedish; hope it makes sense anyway. Would be delighted if anyone could tell me why it does this! Have tried lots of different things but no luck. Most tedious,

I don't think anyone else has had this problem but posting it here just in case.

I clicked on "ignore" and then manually added those values in regedt32 -- voila, up and running.

Photo Shop Elements 10, old hard drive crashed. Getting Error 2755.server...HELP

I am trying to reinstall and get error 2755.server return error 3 attempting to install...What do I need to do to install this on my new hard drive?

Hi - Fighting PC Suite (again) any help appreciated:
Downloaded new PC suite version and ran installer.
Installer hung at point where it was removing earlier version.
Tried repair of earlier version - failed to run correctly.
Tried to uninstall earlier version - seemed to uninstall OK.
Tried to install new version (6.81.13) again (after downloading again)- just as the first progress indication window appears, I also get a message "The system cannot open the device or file specified". Cancelling this then gives the "Internal Error 2755.110..." error.
Upshot - no version installed now.
Same error occurs if I try and re-install the earlier version.
Ran PC Suite cleaner repeatedly, with options:
PROBLEM SELECTED: I receive an error message
PROBLEM SELECTED: Problem during uninstallation
PROBLEM SELECTED: Other problem
Rebooting as necessary.
Still have the same problem.

The suggestion I found on googling was to run Disk Cleanup Ute, but unsurprisingly this didn't work as I had no problems with disk space. However, I also saw some comments also about folder access rights (as well as comment above) and eventually thought to turn of the encryption I have on the folder I dowloaded s/w into - it seems this is the problem.
However, PCSuite is the first downloaded s/w install which has had this problem....

Hi all,
Encounter this error when I'm trying to update the latest java.
Internal Error 2755. 1624, C:\Documents and Settings\CJ\Application Data\Sun\Java\jre1.6.0_01\jre1.6.0_01.msi
Did tried to download the offline package but it still gave me the same error. Any input appreciated.

I had the same problem. I solved it by running the msi program referenced in the error message directly. So, given your error message, you would go to:
C:\Documents and Settings\CJ\Application Data\Sun\Java\jre1.6.0_01\
and run jre1.6.0_01.msi. See if that works.
Note that everyone else would need to navigate to:
C:\Documents and Settings\[USER NAME]\Application Data\Sun\Java\jre1.6.0_01\

Error 2755 - Will not download iTunes - Please help

My two daughters got iPod Shuffles for Christmas and all I get is two hours on the computer trying to download iTunes.
Every time I try to download the software I get the following message:
The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this pacage. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2755.
I cannot delete Quicktime from my computer, and I'm a little afraid to do a regedit without specific instructions. Anyone that could help me, it would be very much appreciated.

try holding the "Ctrl" button down when you click on the link to download itunes. this disables the popup blocker

Installation error 2755

when I tried installing itunes 7.2 the other day, i came up with the error telling me that "The System cannot open the device of file specified."
on clicking Cancel, it tells me "the installer has encountered an unexpected error installing the package. this may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2755"
So then i re-downloaded the itunes setup files several times, in case there was an error with te setup file.
Stil came up with teh same error

With the given error message it appears that you are installing the Acrobat from a subst drive. This is an issue with MSI, please visit for more details: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/heaths/archive/2005/09/21/472464.aspx
Can you please copy the Acrobat setup locally on your machine and try to install Acrobat.
Hopefully this should work, if not please provide details asked by Mylenium.

I have just had my laptop rebuilt and am trying to install Nokia PC Suit 682 rel 27.0. After accepting the terms and conditions and clicking the install button I get the error message saying 'The system cannot open the device or file specified' and after clicking cancel another message saying Internal Error 2755. 110, c:\document and settings\700600009\My Documents\Nokia_PC_Suite_682_rel_27_0_eng_web.msi' and my phone is a 6230!

I removed all the other JREs and tried the autoinstall procedure.Now the JRE is downloaded and installed without problem.
But , during installation few other errors surfaced, but installing the JRE again was successful.
I could not find the real problem and probable solution for this!

Errors when installing Java

I'm on a windows 2000 machine, with 640 meg ram. Java recently stopped working, so I uninstalled it, then tried to reinstall it, only to have the machine lock up. Now, when I try to install SE v1.4.2_03, I get the following error:

Windows drivers fail on error 2869

I am a pc user switching to mac...
I am about as frustrated as you can be with mac...
Tried installing boot camp several times, it always fail at installing Mac drivers (max ox x disk) with the error #2869
Apple support said maybe the installation disks were bad, so I ordered a new windows xp pro sp2 disk and mac os x disk.
Tried again with both new disks, and again where the mac drivers would install got the error 2755 and then 2869.
Windows installs fine, you just cannot use it without the drivers.
Apple support is researching the problem and will get back to me.
Installing windows over and over agian is very time consuming.
I have spent so much time on this, I expected mac to just work.
I have researched the web, worked with apple support, but nothing works
Any ideas?

I doubt it will solve the problem - at all.
And is the same malarkey of reinstalling any OS (like XP) rather than fix or find the cause, and is popular with tier 1 support manuals I guess.
However, one nice thing about OS X is the ability to clone and have multiple boot volumes and drives, and the ease of cloning your system. You should clone it when updated and before doing more, and then be able to restore it easily, and keep your clone updated even.
I tend toward working backups; emergency boot drive backup; and a backup that never gets touched but is updated, and can be just a dynamic sparse image file, not even a partition.

Unable to install Adobe premier elements 9 on new computer

I received Adobe Photo Element 9 and Premier 9 some time but my old computer did not have the capacity to load it. I have a new computer and cannot load the software. How can I load it (from the CDs included with the package) to my new computer. It is a Windows 8 system with an Core I5 processor?

Firstly, you should have installed PRE along with PSE in the first go itself, then everything would have been smooth. If you deferred the decision, then also there was no need to uninstall PSE per se. What could have been done is go to the installer media, browse to the "PRETrial" folder and then click on the Setup.exe of PRE installer to install PRE and at the serial number screen just choose the option to install in trial mode.
Now, the error you are getting is strange. When I search over web, I found this mentioned for Error 2755:
This error may occur if there are insufficient privileges on the %windir%\Installer folder, or the inability of the Windows Installer service to create the %windir%\Installer folder.
NOTE: This behavior can also occur if you have only Read permissions to the Winnt folder. This condition prevents the Installer folder from being created by Setup.
Can you please check that?

VS2013 Installation failed - The Temp folder is on a drive that is full or is inaccessible

When I trying to install Visual Studio 2013 Premium either from .ISO or web installer, installation fails on installing Microsoft
Visual C++ 2013 x86 Minimum Runtime - 12.0.21005 with error:
The Temp folder is on a drive that is full or is inaccessible. Free up space on the drive or verify that you have write permission on the Temp folder.
But there are enought free space on system drive (36GB) and current user (local admin) and administrator has full access to C:\Windows\Temp and %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp folders. "Run as Administrator" has no effect.

1.4.2 installation problem

I have downloaded the full installation of the new 1.4.2 release however when I install in I get the IE plugin screen, click next and get and Internal Error 2755.
Is everyone who is trying this download getting the same or is something messing up my download ?
I have NT4 SP6a and the fact the installation is getting as far as it is tells me it should work.

I have this problem consistently. I am using Windows NT Workstation 4.0 with Service Pack 6a. I tried re-applying Service Pack 6a, but it didn't help.
