Error 306 when accessing itunes store
I am unable to access the store. One day it worked, the next it didn't.
I have tried to log on using another log on, same problem. I next downloaded the current version and it still gives me the error message 306, the connection timed out. It usually gets about half way before it stops.
Thanks

It worked. The answer was posted by nantes37 of the UK.
Thank them, not me. It works without any commercial
download.
I posted this twice and saved it for the future.
I often need reminding of these things! lol!

I have been having issues connecting to the iTunes store for over a week now , Error code -50 and some error message in spanish , after some messing about i renamed all itunesprefs files to iTunesprefs.old main one located "C:\Documents and Settings\Account name\Local Settings\Application Data". this makes itunes reset all it prefs but does not delete any music or vids . i then restarted itunes and bobs your uncle straight in and working again .
in summary :
rename all iTunesprefs files either xml or other
remane them to .old so you have them if you need to go back
restart itunes or reboot
itunes will think your a new user but does not require a re sync
and should be fixed
i am not responsible for any errors you create by messing it up.
it has worked for me on Win xp pro ver9 (latest version) itunes .
remember error lies between keyboard and seat !!

Application name ; iTunes.exe
Application version : 10.6.3.25
Failed Module : atiumdag.dllEver since I got a new laptop with Win8 (5 months ago) I have been unable to access the iTunes Store. I've searched for answers and nothing has worked. Gave up for several months since Apple told me I'd have to pay their support team to fix the issue. Today I found this thread, applied the fix found by "DonInDassel" and so far I'm accessing the store with no issue. I copied & pasted the file into the new location so it stayed in both locations, just in case. iTunes store is still running after 30 minutes and I've been randomly clicking all over the place just to test it!!!! Why can't Apple figure this stuff out? LOL! I hope y'all have the same success!

Can connect to the iTunes store successfully when starting Windows in Safe Mode with networking. It seems that there is something running even when all of the startup items and non-Microsoft services listed in msconfig are disabled and whatever that is does not run in Safe Mode. Any thoughts?
It is not eset NOD32. I completely uninstalled this and still had the problem.
I noticed that when starting iTunes, there is a message that it is connecting to the Apple store and then attempts to send Genius information. This phase does not end unless I manually stop it, and in fact there is no network activity (no packets being sent or received). Thinking that this might suggest an issue with Windows Firewall (even though WF isn't supposed to block outgoing traffic) I disabled the firewall ... but iTunes still crashes when accessing the Store. -
HT4743 Tv shows purchased wont play through tv, error says cant access iTunes store
Need assistance viewing tv show purchased on ipad, through Apple TV, get error can't access iTunes Store
Hi - I am now having this same exact problem on my Mac laptop. I have many Breaking Bad, etc TV shows that I purchased through itunes & have watched over the years & now all of those, as well as, any new shows I purchase will not play on my laptop. Just same as above person -- a black screen that appears to be playing movie (the timer is actually playing) but no video or sound. Shows / Movies all work fine on my home computer.
On my laptop it keeps saying .. "Not authorized to play .... & then says "Sign into Itunes.. " - but I do sign out & sign back in & still nothing happens. Very annoying and frustrating as I can ususlly figure things out with perserverence and trial & error. -

When I try to access Music Store I get the following error message:
"We could not complete your Music Store request. An unknown error occured (-50). There was an error in the music store. Please try again later."
I have had this for several days. I have re-installed the software and the latest version of i-tunes. My firewall is set to permit i-tunes. Can anyone help?hmmmm. the rules for that are different depending on whether you're trying to get to music or videos.
if it's related to music, see:
