  • Error - Blackberry App World Is Not Working

Hello plz I really need an urgent help please. For weeks now my blackberry app world is not opening. It's giving me this message. ( an error has occurred and blackberry world will be close. Try waiting few minutes and reopen blackberry world) please what can I do so I can open my BlackBerry world again. Plz help me. Am using a Z10 and u can't delete it and reinstall it

Although this is an old thread, I encountered this error message a couple of days ago on both my old Q10 and new Classic.  After I verified that the BlackBerry World website was not down, I searched for a solution.
The BB tech rep told me to turn off the WiFi and try to connect over the data connection.  It worked.  Then she told me to turn off Data Services and try to connect over WiFi.  It worked.
After fits and starts, the solution was simple:  Turn off and WiFi and turn it back on again.
    I hope this helps others.

  • App World Inaccessible - Error Message "App World has been blocked"

    Dear All,
I recently purchased a Sprint-branded Blackberry Curve 9350 (in excellent condition) off of Amazon, and all of the phone is entirely functional, except that every time I try to access the Blackberry App World I receive a pop-up message reading "App World has been blocked".
Initially, when I switched my pre-existing Sprint line to my new Curve, the phone was entirely wiped and reset.  I began using the various functions and only a few days later realized that I cannot access App World.  I spoke to several Sprint representatives and over the course of a few days took the following steps, all without any success:
    De-installed and reinstalled App World
Did a Batt-pull with the phone on, de-installed and reinstalled App World, and did another Batt-pull
Hooked connected the phone to my laptop and de-installed App World via Blackberry Desktop Manager
As I purchased the phone over Amazon, I don't believe warranty protection applies.  However, it seem incongruous that all of the other applications and functionality of the phone work, with the sole exception of App World.
Could someone please suggest steps to remedy the problem and make App World accessible?
Also, could someone please advise whether I can bypass the App World app and install Blackberry apps onto the Curve directly via Blackberry Desktop Manager and, if so, what the steps to do that are?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Colby

    Hello,
From that description, I suspect a latent IT Policy is on your BB that is blocking AW. Normally, the error message would say more than what you reported, and that would be more indicative...but this is my guess from what you provided.
To cleanse it, you actually have several things you need to do...starting with checking to see if this is indeed the case:
KB30076 How to check for an IT Policy on a BlackBerry smartphone
Sadly, there also are also rare situations with "stealth" IT Policies that exist, but do not actually display as such via the above. Again, the complete error message may have provided a better hint about this issue.
Nevertheless, I believe you need to conduct certain steps anyway, especially given your method of procurement. Refer:
KB05099 Steps to take before selling or after buying a previously owned BlackBerry smartphone
While it sounds as if someone did or had you do much of this, I think you need to review it to be sure. Further, none of those WIPE methods would actually have removed an IT Policy from the BB. Rather, you need to perform the ResetToFactory process, which I recommend you do instead of (or in addition to) the WIPE that the KB recommends:
KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory settings using BlackBerry Desktop Software
In addition, you need to be careful if you've already placed data onto the BB that you need to retain. You can backup/restore your device before/after these WIPEs, but you need to be careful when you restore...do not do a full restore, or you will simply put the offending IT Policy back on board. Rather, do a selective restore of only the databases you require, and being 100% sure to avoid any databases that have anything at all to do with IT Policy:
    KB03974 BlackBerry smartphone database list
Lastly...given this situation, it is entirely possible that there are further challenges with this specific BB. For example, if the BIS account is locked due to the BB being previously reported as lost or stolen, there will be nothing you can do about that, and you will never be able to have full services. But Orange certainly should be able to tell you if this is the case.

    These methods exist:
KB14473 How to install an application on a BlackBerry smartphone using the BlackBerry Desktop Software
KB04670 Install a third-party application with the Application Loader
KB28715 How to Install applications from BlackBerry App World using a computer system
However, there is no way to know if the IT Policy will also block these methods.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Identity Error with App World

This Error is very common in South Africa but hopefully someone has come up with an answer now , I got the latest version of BB app world then out of no-where my contacts began deleting themselves, so I wiped everything including operating system and readded a newer version .681 and now I cant log into my appworld without it asking for the identity update .. I press YES and it brings up the Question again asking for the Identity update I press YES again then it shows the error and kicks me out , I have downloaded the older version but now it says "To continue using Appworld you must upgrade" ..
    Its hopeless wow ..

What OS are you running? All you said was .681, which is merely the 4th octet, with the first two octets telling you which section of that KB you should be following. The instructions you quoted have only to do with OS 5...
This KB may well also apply:
KB29501 "Error installing BlackBerry Identity, please try again later" when trying to install an update for BlackBerry Identity in BlackBerry App World.
There likely are others as well...you can search the public KBs to find if something exactly matches your circumstances...
    Good luck!

  • Cannot install apps in App World

I have recently changed my Blackberry ID email address through a web browser on my PC.  The changes updated on both my Torch 9850 and my Playbook.  I am able to login to the Blackberry ID website and my email address is confirmed.  I can even change my Blackberry ID password from my devices.
When attempting to install an application on the Playbook, I receive the following error:
"Install Error: [0003-0006]  There was a problem during installation.  Please try again."
On the Torch 9850, I cannot install applications or even open My World.  I get the following error:
"Blackberry App World is having trouble connecting to the Blackberry App World server.  Verify your network connections and try again."
It has been several days since this started occurring.  I stopped by a Verizon corporate store on 2/26 and they seemed to think it was a RIM issue, but they did not seem to know much about Blackberry.
All of the threads I have found point to problems with the Blackberry ID, but mine seems to be fine.
Does anyone have a solution?  Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Further troubleshooting with RIM support has solved my problem.  Here are the steps I took to resolve:
Changed my Blackberry ID email address back to the original address from my Torch.  I was then able to fully access App World through the Torch, Playbook, and web browser.
Created a new Blackberry ID with my new email address to confirm no isue with that address.  I was able to login through the browser with the new account.
I deleted the new Blackberry ID using the link in the email they sent me.
Changed my Blackberry ID email address to the new email address using my Torch.  The change was accepted and propogated to the Playbook.
I now have the new email address associated with my old ID and access from all devices.
Support stated that it should have worked the first time, even from the browser, and they will continue to try to replicate the issue on their end.
If you are experiences similar issues, try executing all changes from the phone.
