This alert is often related to a lost connection to the iTunes Store.
If you encounter this alert and you have verified you have a connection to the Internet using Wi-Fi, please reviewAirPort and Bluetooth: Potential sources of wireless interference.
If the issue persists, and you're using iTunes for Windows, you may need to flush your DNS and remove pop-up or ad-blockers.

  • Error -3150 when downloading from iTunes Store

For the past several days since upgrading to iT8, when I've tried to download files from iTunes, it has errored out at some point of the download with error -3150. I got this error when downloading a 9MB podcast file, and also a 1.64GB HD tv show.
When I got it on the podcast, it reset all of the file's progress and started over. Thankfully, it did not do it with the TV show (which was 999MB through) or I would have been considerably more upset, but it did waste all the time I was using to download it. ADSL is terrible in the country I'm currently staying in, but it's all that's available to me.
In any case, I have not seen any mention of this error anywhere, and would appreciate knowing what it means, and more importantly, what Apple is doing about it.

Well, I guess that will have to do. Thanks for the heads up. It is a DSL connection, and there's not much that I can do about intermittent connections because cable/satellite is literally nonexistant in this country. However, Apple might want to consider revamping their file transfer protocols if this is going to be a standard problem - this would be in their best interest especially since they're going to be releasing the iPhone all over the world, and very few places have Internet speeds like USA and East Asia.

  • ITunes download error 3150

    Hi all,
Just purchased a season pass for a TV series and witnessed horrible download speeds, even though I have a 1.5MB connection. Three of the shows just bombed out and showed an error 3150...
I did a search of the forum and found a ton of postings with the same (or similar) issue(s)... but no answers on how to fix it.
Is Apple just ignoring the problem? The posts I found go as far back as 2005... but I didn't see any response from an Apple tech... or an answer on how to fix it.
    Is there a fix?
How do I get those three episodes? I tried to report a problem, but the process wouldn't let me enter any information and just put a "problem reported" note next to that purchase in my account history.
I'm using the latest version of iTunes (7.2?), OSX 10.4.9 (couldn't update while iTunes was trying to download). There weren't any other programs running and no other network activity.
Overall... not the best iTunes purchase experience.

I have the same problem with my iPhone 3G.
please let me know if there is a way

  • HT1365 How can I get my iPhone 4 to update my updates from my app store of it keeps telling me error 3150 or it tell me to refresh the page after updates and the updates are still there asking me to update them again

How can I get my iPhone 4 to update my updates from my app store of it keeps telling me error 3150 or it tell me to refresh the page after updates and the updates are still there asking me to update them again?

Make sure iTunes on the computer is logged into the account on the phone.
    Plug the iPhone in.
In the popup window warning about wiping your phone, hit cancel.
In the left pane of iTunes, the phone icon should be there.
Right click on it, select transfer purchases.
Note: this will only transfer music bought from iTunes. Not mp3's from amazon or ripped from CD's.

I bought an album that also came with music videos. All the songs downloaded properly, but none of the videos. Next to them it said Stopped-Error 3150, I tried to restart the downloads and now most just say Stopped, some say Stopped-Error 8003, which means Network issues, but after checking, I found there are no issues with my network. Help?

I am having this same problem with my brand new Mac Pro. It seems to be tied to the computer awaking from sleep (no I am not leaving the iPod connected while sleep... I am referring to waking the computer from sleep and then connecting iPod as opposed to restarting the computer and then connecting the iPod). In other words, if you are getting this error message, try ejecting the iPod, restart your computer, then connect the iPod and see if the error message goes away. For me it does, but I only get one shot at it, if I eject the iPod and then reconnect it, the error message returns. This happens on both iPods I have. I have rebooted (hold menu-select) and gone to disc mode (hold select-play) and the error message remains. The only way it goes away is to reboot the computer, then I get one shot at hooking up an iPod.
I NEVER had nor get this error message when I connect to the Windows PC that I started with. Perhaps the iPod does not like moving from PC to Mac?

  • New Apple TV- get error -3150 when trying to turn on home sharing

I bought an  ATV2-can't get home sharing on, won't accept Apple ID, can't make anything work.  Rebooted Airport extreme,  two computers, no help....spent two hours on two different occassions yesterday at Genius Bar where ATV2 worked perfectly.  Get error message 3150 when password is not accepted.

Me neither... But my home haring did just come back after signing in and out of iTunes and trying to turn on home sharing....judging by the popularity of this issue right now and the older posts on the subject, it would seem that it's some kind of glitch with the apple servers.

  • Error 3150 after update

I updated my ipod touch to 5.0 and now everything I purchase on my ipod starts downloading and then gives me the 3150 error. The internet is working fine for everything else. I'm using a wireless network, latest itunes version, windows 7, ipod touch 4g. I also get the error on itunes for my pc but if I keep hitting the restart button it eventually gets all of them after a million tries.
Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know what's causing it and/or a fix for it?

Wow, haven't been to the new forums in a long time I guess... I wanted to edit the above, but I'll just add new info here:
    I've read :

  • TS3297 how do I resolve download error = -3150

Does anyone know how to resolve this error?  I get it on some downloads - mainly apps, but not all.

Quickly doublechecking. You've worked through the "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023" section in the Specific Conditions and Alert Messages: (Mac OS X / Windows) section of the following document?

  • Constantly getting error 3150

Can't download anything from iTunes store.  Rest of the internet works fine.  What's going on, Apple?  Every 30th try or so works... if I pound on the refresh button eventually stuff comes down but very frustrating.  Anyone else having trouble?

I just had this problem as well. I have Comcast Cable internet and am on the East Coast where there are still some internet issues from the storm that came through. My solution was to change my DNS server to Google's which is 8.8.8.8
To access this go to your System Preferences> Network > Click on your active connection (ethernet or wifi)
Next click "Advanced" and select the DNS tab. On the side that has DNS Servers click the plus sign and add 8.8.8.8
That did the trick for me. Hope it helps!
