Error (3194) When trying to restore iPad 1 to iOS 5?

I've downloaded iOS 5 on my laptop. (Toshiba Satellite) Every time i try and restore my iPad to get the iOS 5 update, I repeatavly get "iPad could not be restored, An unknown error has occured. (Error 3194)" I have updated iTunes to 10.5, I have tried restarting my computer, turning it off and back on, tyring on another laptop (Macbook Pro), and none of these have worked. Anyone have any ideas?

Better and worked by # in host file..

Subject: Error message when trying to install Flash 10.0.45.2
If I remember correctly, there were two different installers for 10.0.45.2: one that did the checking for a newer version, and one that did not.
The forum search is currently disabled, and I cannot find the topics that were discussed at the time.
However, I still have the installers for the non-check version available for download on my servers:

  • Error Code 14 when trying to restore iPad on iOS 4.2.1

First off sorry if this is the wrong section to post this in. No other section looked close to my problem.
So I got a new iPad for Christmas, I updated it to 4.2.1, and I synced it. Last night I had to restore it, but when I tried to restore it I got "iPad can not be restored (14)" something along those lines. So I put my iPad into DFU or recovery mode, still don't know the difference, and it said "an iPad in recovery mode has been found" so I hit restore and it still gave error code 14 after all that. It wasn't jailbroken, my dad's computer works fine I can restore anything on his no problem but I would rather just be able to make it work on my own personal computer. I have tried using a different USB cable with a different USB jack or outlet or whatever and that didnt work. I'm using iTunes 10.1
This is really frustrating. Does anyone have a solution?

Try here since error 14 is one of the listed errors:

  • Error 3194 when trying to update iPad 2 to iOS 5

I was just trying to update my iPad 2 to iOS 5, and after 'verifying the update with itunes' the updating process stopped. Something popped up that said an error (error 3194) had occurred.
I had previously jailbroken another device on that computer. But, I later restored the device and tried to remove all the jailbreaking software from my computer. Since then I have not had a problem updating my devices on iTunes, until now. I am guessing my previous attempt at jailbreaking is causing these problems. Is there a way to fix this?
    Thanks!

See this support document for error codes. Resolve iOS update and restore errors - Apple Support  The 39 does not appear, but there is a 37 and 40, so I would believe it is close to that.
If you are having trouble updating, you need to check this support document for that. You may need to put the device into Recovery Mode.
If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
It could also be the security software on the Windows PC. Another question, is the device jailbroken?

  • Getting error -34 when trying to restore my ipad

I am getting an error (-34) when trying to restore my backup to my ipad after update to ios 5.  Seems to be the same issue as:  https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3374362
I have plenty of free space on my 64gb ipad but the settings keep getting defaulted to not downsample my music to 128kb.  that would over fill my device. I have been on the phone with apple for over an hour with no end in sight.  I have lost many data files including a recorded meeting from this week.
If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them.
    Thanks,
    RA

    Configure your security software
Check your security software and settings, which can block ports and prevent connection to Apple servers during update and restore.
    Common errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006, 9807, 9844. Sometimes as a result of this issue, a device might stop responding during the restore process.

  • HT201412 My Ipad is not responding.  It has the small apple in the middle of the screen with the little "thinking" flower symbol surrounding it, and does not respond to restoring. We received an error message when trying to restore from itunes.
