Error -3212? Help!

I can't connect to i-tunes I keep getting this error, (-3212) can anyone help?

I am able to connect to iTune store and I am able to make purchases. However, then it asks if I'm sure I want to purchase and when I say yes, then it gives the 3212 error. It's my kid's ipod and this has been going on for months, so I don't think it's just that the server is busy for the holidays. Could it be a McAfee setting getting in the way? In the iTunes window, there are about 8 affected purchases that are "grayed out" that give this error message. What do I do?

if it comes up with itunes cannot connect to itunes store, blah blah error (-3212) then its because one of your computer programs has failed, to find the faild program you should look at the bottom right corner of your screen and if any of the little icons have a yellow exclamation mark on or next to it then that is the ones thats failed.
you need to make a note of which one it is and then go to control panel on the start menu, once loaded look for the link called 'programs' and click on uninstall a program, find the faulty program and just click on it and it will start uninstalling, restart your computer and try loading itunes again and it'll work

Macafee security center is may be the culprit.
Open Macafee then: select;
Internet & Network > configure
Firewall > Advanced
Programm Permissions > scroll down to Itunes
Highlight (click on)
Then Grant full access to Itunes.
APPLY then OK
When you select store from Itunes you will need to register with Itunes.
Try that or:
Disable your firewall.

After updating to latest version of itunes i get error -3212 when trying to connect to itunes store, says not connected to internet. But internet status is ok and can use browser

just updated to the latest version of itunes for windows. i can't stream any of my radio stations and when i try to connect to the itunes store i get an error -3212 message saying i'm not connect to the internet, yet my browser works and my wireless status is ok.

I also had this issue when one day itunes stopped working for me on windows 8...
the error message I received first was: C:Programme files\common files\Apple\Apple Push service.dll is either not designed to run on windows or contains an error.

For anyone running windows 8 needing to know how to resolve this issue by repairing the Apple Application Support program, try following these simple steps - what a relief it was to have itunes working again after applying b noir's answer to the windows 8 operating system!
1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Control Panel.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, click Settings, and then click Control Panel.)
2. Click the Programs and Features icon.
3. In the list of programs and features, find the Apple Application Support feature and click to select it.
4. In the gray title bar above it, click Repair.
5. Approve the window prompts that follow until the repair has been completed.
6. Relaunch iTunes.

Error -3212 when trying to connect to iTunes store.

Help please anybody. Haven't been able to connect to iTunes store for about a week, to start with it would connect to a very basic store front, then after installing latest iTunes, I keep getting an error message with error -3212, have looked through lots of other threads, and tried a few suggestions but nothing seems to work.

I upgraded to the new iTunes and since then have not been able to connect to the iTunes store. I get an unknown error (-3212) message that pops up. iTunes also will not recognize any of my ipods either. The computer recognizes the ipod but it will not show up in iTunes. Anyone know how to solve this issue? I've spent hours on the phone with tech support and have not been able to resolve the issue. I can connect to the store using the wifi on my ipod touch but not through my computer and it is getting pretty frustrating.

i have searched on google and solutions have not been able to help me. I have heard that McAfee is generally the culperate in this situation but i have even fully removed McAfee from my machine and it is still not working.

This alert is often related to iTunes and iTunesHelper being blocked by software firewall.
If this happens, change the permission level for iTunes and iTunesHelper in your software firewall to allow full access.
This should allow iTunes and iTunesHelper to both send and receive data from the iTunes Store.

Do it systematically..
A factory reset thusly.
Pull out the power cord.
Hold in reset.
Plug in the power cord.. without releasing reset. (Use your third arm for this)
Count to 10.. and keep holding the reset until the front LED flashes rapidly.
Your previous resets have failed btw because otherwise it would not still come up green. So take it step by step as above.
Then in full isolation.. plug the TC into a single computer by ethernet. No other connections.. no wireless on the computer. Open the airport utility and do a min setup of the TC.
See if you can now access the hard disk. See if TM is working again.
If it fails the TM backup has become corrupted. That is the meaning of 6583. You need to verify the backups.
Hold option key when you select the top menu TM icon, and a new menu will appear including verify. Let that run and see what comes up.
If the TC is old there may be other issues.

Does anyone know how to fix error 3212. I have just bought a new iphone 4S and upgraded my iTunes but cannot access iTunes Store. I have copied the libxml2.dll to the Mobile device Support folder, restarted the PC but no luck. De-installed iTunes and started again but same error message saying I am not connected to the internet... but I am! Please please help. Eileen
