ERROR 3221

I keep getting an error 3221 message when trying to connect to itunes store. Can anyone tell me what this may be???

Can you connect to any secure web sites?
Did this start after updating iTunes? It could be related to the security software running on the computer. Try temporarily disabling the security software or uninstalling it.

I recently updated itunes to the newest version, and now I can no longer connect to the itunes store. I recieve the error -3221, and I have read all corresponding troubleshooting guides. I have checked and rechecked for any software such as Norton or McAfee, and I have performed searches on my hard drive for this software, and it is not there. I do not have a firewall on my computer, at least not one from either of these programs. But I continue to get the error message. I changed my windows firewall settings, and cleared the DMS ( i think that's what it was called) cache.
HELP. It's still not working.

I see you have a Compaq. It probably came with Norton AV pre-installed. Even if you've never used Norton, the trial period has expired, and you used Add/Remove Programs to uninstall it from your PC, remnants of it are probably still there.
Several folks have had success connecting to iTS after running this Norton removal utility.

Error -3221 - please help

Can anyone point me in the right direction for solving this error?
Having bought a pc and loaded up I-tunes before i was connected to broadband I am very dissapointed to find out that now I am on broadband.. every time I go into I-tunes and try to connect to the music store or radio or retrieve any info for tracks I am given the message - "i-tunes could not connect to the music store. Unknown error (-3221)"....... I have tried removing i-tunes and reloading to no avail.. any ideas?
Oh great goal Sweden.. far more interesting than messing about with this evil software!

Ok so i just downloaded the new itunes 7 and i got it all installed and nothing was wrong. Then when i clicked itunes store a box came up and said unknown error(-3221). I tried to exit out of itunes and start it back up again but it doesn't work. I even restarted my computer but it still won't work. This might be helpful, my computer is a HP Pavilion a210n. Please help me, all i want to do is download some music!!

Error 3221 usually has to do with a firewall setting. First make sure you are using Service Pack 2 for XP. If you are, then check this article

Look at article # 300831 regarding firewall settings. I was getting the same message you are, but once I set my firewall to accept iTunes activity, my problem was solved. Good luck!

You get this error because there is no App Store in your country. Are you in Iran? Unless you can legitimately establish an apple ID in another country then there is nothing you can do to fix this

for a very long time now i haven't been able to access the itunes store with my wireless card it tells me "itunes could not connect to the itunes store an unknown error occured (-3221) make sure your network connection is active and try again" even though i know that my wireless card is working becuase i can get on internet explorer with out any problems. i have no idea if it's my wireless card or something else. i've already checked my virus protection settings and they're not what's doin it. if anyone could help me that would be great

That error code seems to be a lingering problem. There are a lot of reports of it when doing large downloading. Fill out the form at the bottom of this page and report this to Apple. They may be able to fix it by reseting your download credits.

Some other unlikely ideas :
- Make sure you disk drive is not full, or almost full.
- Try deleting the partially downloaded file
- Set iTunes to save the files to a different location
- If you are saving the files to a shared folder, other type of remote disk set iTunes to save them to you local C drive.
- Try downloading late at night. The Music store may just be overloaded and can not server all the requests. There will be less traffic at night.

Music store error -3221

Everytime I try to connect to the Music Store I get an error number -3221 and I can no longer check for updates for iTunes, it tells me that I have no active connection. Is there any way for me to fix this problem? A couple of weeks ago I updated my modem to a wireless modem so I'm thinking maybe the firewall in the modem needs to be configured to allow iTunes access to the internet. I asked my ISP for help but they don't know what they're doing and I think I can configure it myself, if that in fact is the reason iTunes can no longer make a connection to the internet.

Hello could you tell me wot operating system you are running and also if you have any firewalls running on your computer such as McAfee or Norton.

Are you running any of Symantec's (Norton) or McAfee's Internet security products or anything similar, or an antivirus/antispyware application? There have been reports that some such utilities treat an upgrade to iTunes as a new application and can block the application from running. So you have to go in and reset the utility to allow iTunes. The same thing can happen if you upgrade the security product (this has particularly been a problem with recent McAfee upgrades).
Check the settings for your utility and if necessary remove and re-enable the exception for iTunes (consult your utility's documentation for the appropriate procedure). You may also need to check the built-in Windows firewall as well.

Cannot Connect to Music Store Unknown Error -3221

Please help me. I subscribed to ITunes specifically because I pre-ordered the Depeche Mode CD. And now that I am trying to download/upload(?) through the advanced / pre-orders I keep getting an error message stating "Cannot connect to music store. An unkown error occurred -3221. Make sure you rnetwork connection is active and try again."
I have been reading the fixes online and tried the overnight test. I tried adding the site to my pop-up blocker... NOW WHAT? I cannot access the music store at all (for the past 3 days that I have been trying). I pretty much just want a refund for my CD that I cannot download. BTW - in between my purchase and my attempts to access the music store I was forced to "upgrade to 6"... so is that where the problem lies? I also called the support phone number on the "contact us" link and no one on the telephone can help. I AM SO FRUSTRATED! Please make this better! I am on Windows XP.

How can I access the iTunes store? When I click on iTunes, my library appears but when I try to connect to the store I get a window saying Error -3221 has occured and cannot connect to the store.
