Error -3253 while downloading iOS 5

Not sure what's going on. It starts downloading and stops at 43mb every time. With the a message saying the connection was reset. Any suggestions?

im in the exact same boat...got an email this morning describing ios5 and decided to get it (had been waiting for someone to come out with a reliable jail brake for 4.3.1 for awhile...). Got my iTunes downloaded and updated to 10.5. Tried downloading the update for the phone and sometimes it goes straight to the 3253 error...sometimes it gets down to like 2 minutes left then pops up the error...really really frustrated about this...if apple is going to keep their products locked down to their specific operating systems...you'd think they could perfect the (lots easier to keep up with 3 things than 100 things like microsoft/android do). Apple will lose my business if this crap continues...have no use for a product I spent that much money on and cant even make simple updates on. My parents said they updated theirs like 2 days ago with no problems...im at a loss...really am.
I have tried hardwiring to modem as well with no luck...actually seemed to pop the error message more frequently then.

If you are using a proxy, try removing the proxy settings, or using a known-good network. If that does not resolve the issue, follow iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.

Error -3253 while downloading a movie.

Lately I'm Getting Error -3253 while downloading a movie. I'm using Apple TV (First Version) with 3.0.2 Software. Download stops about every 2-3 percent.
WHy is the question.

I just spent over an hour on the phone and working through Remote Advisor w/an Apple Technician (AT) going through a plethora of troubleshooting items - all to no avail.
The AT did provide me with his/her specific contact information and promised to get back to me with an update within 24-hours. Although there is no resolution at this time, I do at least have the comfort knowing that this issue has indeed been forwarded to the Engineering team for them to review and address.
I just hope that this is resolved sooner rather than later.
And as an FYI I did suggest that they check out the Community Forums to get better understanding that this is not an issue specific to me alone but to a much broader group.

keep trying. i'm guessing their servers are trying to catch up to the amount of traffic requesting ios 7, so you may keep seeing issues for a little while. but it should all even out before too long

ITunes has stopped working error message while downloading iOS 5

I am having issues with iTunes stopping while im in the middle of the new iOS 5 download. It never fails while im just using itunes for anything except downloading the new software. Same problem here! Moreover, for some reason, the pictures in my iPhone 3GS somehow have been divided into 2 folders, Photos and Medialibrary. And when I open iPhone as a folder through the explorer I can see only the Photos folder, but cannot see the Medialibrary folder which stores the photos taken before updating/upgrading the iPhone and getting separated folders!!! What the hack with all of this?!!! When I connect iPhone to PC it automatically opens iTunes and starts syncronizing it, but at the process of OPTIMIZING the photos (and according to the number of photos it shows, I see that it tries to syncronize that invisible Medialibrary folder) the process suddenly stops and error message pops out Tried the sync test, tried the button DEBUG in that pop out message, but NOTHING HELPS!!! Also, when I open the Medialibrary in my iPhone, the screen get sblack all through scrolling it down, only the video clips are shown there... >.<
So, could you, apple developers, please, explain WHAT THIS PROBLEM IS ABOUT?!!!!!! FIX IT! Unknown error -23 while downloading iOS 5

So I have been using the iPhone 4 for nearly a year and a half now with no issues whatsoever.
I wanted to update to the iOS 5 earlier today. When iTunes tried to download the OS, it failed with error -23, which is an unknown error. The rest of the message is a cryptic "there was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone <name>".
I went ahead and got the ipsw file for the GM release of iOS 5 anyway, and proceeded to install it using the "Restore" option (I kept Alt pressed on my keyboard and pointed iTunes to the ipsw file).
I now have iOS 5 on my phone and it works well. However, all my contacts have disappeared! iTunes has restored my music and my apps, but not my contacts. When I try to use the restore option and get my contacts back from an earlier back up, I experience the same error -23.
What worries me is that I haven't found a single relevant post on the web related to the specific error code "-23". I have no idea what the issue is and how I can correct it now.
Any help on this front will be greatly appreciated.

iTunes: 10.5 (141)
Mac OSX: 10.6.8 (I gather that the latest version is 10.7.2, but I don't see this update in my software updates...is this an issue?).

you will need at least installation master DVD in addition. I would recommend you to check installation guide before proceeding. There you can find also needed medias as well as procedure you need to follow.

Something temporarily wrong with your internet connection?
Be aware that this is a very large file to download, it needs a strong consistent internet connection.
Have the iPhone on the charger cable too.
In the meantime read the threads in this forum about the visibility item and some other possible issues on the 4 and 4S (although a large number of people have these issues, it is still a minor percentage, but anyhow, be aware).

Are you using iTunes to do the update OTA on your iPhone? If its on iTunes and its giving you the error
I reccomend creating a iCloud backup and then downloading the iOS 7.0.2 .ipsw file and installing it manually from your PC. So follow these steps below to do this. (these instructions are for Windows i dont have a Mac so i don't know what you do haha but if you need it i could help and try.
Connect your iPhone to your PC and open iTunes.
If your iPhone uses AT&T or i think T-Moblie download the file here http://appldnld.apple.com/iOS7/091-9871.20130924.7imYu/iPhone3,1_7.0.2_11A501_Re store.ipsw (its large! about 1.2 GB)

Now once it's downloaded go to iTunes while your iPhone 4 is connected and hold SHIFT AND CLICK "Check for update" and then find where you downloaded the .ipsw file and select it.
It should work if there is a problem please reply and tell me the issue. Oh and btw MAKE SURE YOY DO A BACKUP TO iCloud
