Error 3331 happening all of a sudden in production environment.

Using APEX 3.0 running on Oracle Web server ( apache 1.3 ) and oracle 10.2.0.1
There have been no recent changes or releases (for months).
I've cleared down session state globally, restarted the service, all to no avail.
Shift CTRL-R doesn't work( ie solve the problem)
This is a prodcuction system used by 1,000 users. Can any-one help ?

Well, there's no use in falling out about thisTrust me, I'm not offended/upset/etc in any way.
I know this application, you don'tAbsolutely, my point was though that somewhere in the app you (by 'you' I mean the developers of the app) have set a page to not allow duplicate submissions and that for whatever reasons that 'duplicate submission check' is only being flagged now (again for whatever reason, perhaps because users are using the back-button).
I'm currently not even able to alter the application to allow duplicate page-submissionsThere would be a danger in that too though, as it would mean you were potentially storing the data twice, unless your underlying procedures took care of checking for that.
I'd recommend also looking at the following threads (if you haven't already) which cover how to modify the error message and also get a bit more info on it -

Maybe Scott's new bookHate to nit-pick, but I think you're probably referring to my book (which Scott Spendolini is contributing a chapter for). Of course it doesn't help that my surname is also 'Scott', which leads to no end of confusion.
The above isn't directed personally at you BTW, I just find it surprising how often my name is misquoted given that I have a relatively straight-forward name ;)

    I think it might be the problem with one of your plugins.
    Try to uninstall the webbrowser AND remove the storage from Firefox in your user-account (Linux: /home/username/.mozilla). You can check the list of installed Add-Ons in Firefox under "Extras => Add-ons" or by pressing Shift + Strg + A (Linux).

    Choose the method for:
    "Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
    If this does not help, you may have to take the MBP to the Apple Store  to have it checked.

  • I am receiving a connection error and can't send out yahoo e-mails. I can surf and use another browser with no problem what happened all of a sudden with my firefox?

    I can't send out e-mails! I get a connection error message.
    I can receive messages, surf the web via Firefox.
    The only related thing to this occurrence is that I received a notice from Firefox recommending that I disable a Skype extension, which I did. Not sure if this is connected.

    Well, I had already done those things before.  The message I got when I tried is:
    An error occurred while sending mail.  The mail server responded: From address not verified - see http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/manage/sendfrom-07.html.  Please verify that your email address is correct in your Mail preferences and try again.
    I had input the email address without the @verizon.net extension.  That's exactly how I input it in the pop3 set-up for receiving e-mail and it works there.
    So I went to the link that is referenced in the error message.  It basically had me go to my Yahoo mail account page.  I was directed to add an account with a different email address.  A verification code was then sent to me via email that I then had to input into the new account's setup page in order to activate my Yahoo mail for smtp use.  Once I input the code and validated I was then able to send e-mails just fine with Thunderbird.  I was able to use my @verizon.net email address and not the new account I had created.
    Bottom line - I had to activate/validate my account before I could send email.  I had not read about this anywhere when trying to figure out what was wrong.

  • 5002 error in itunes all of a sudden

    So my main itunes install is now acting up. I'm getting the 5002 error. It used to work fine. I purchased some songs on my iphone today and sync'd them to my mac mini itunes install where all my music is. I tried to go into my account and it asks for my password, then it says the 5002 error try later. I've tried deauthorizing the mini (doesn't let me, 5002), tried authorizing the mini (it is already authed but it doesn't let me do that either 5002). The shopping cart is not enabled (never has been).
    I was able to sync to my phone and get the songs copied over but I can't access buy anything from the mini nor can I pull up my account information.

    I can preview songs audibly, but when I try to buy, I also get the error, same thing when I tried to access my account. Some people have been able to access their account, and they said that they refreshed their State info and this negated their 5002 Error, but I cannot get there.

    I can no longer open new tabs in Firefox. I have used it for years and I have never experienced this problem before. When I click on the new tab, nothing happens and I don't understand why. I updated it thinking that might be the problem, but it still doesn't work.

    Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.

  • My e-mail seems to be very slow to open on MSN. Why is this happening all of a sudden?

    Firefox opens at start of sign-in on my mac. I then open msn.com, it is a little slow opening, but really gets slow when I try to open my e-mail. You can click on the mail and nothing happens...not sure why or how this began?

    Double tap the screen with three fingers to switch off zoom. Go to Settings and switch off zoom so you don't accidentally switch it on again.

    I don't know what happened, the body of my email was not displayed any more. I must have unknowingly pressed something on my I Pad to cause this to happen ? I can read the preview lines ok, but not the mail itself, any idea how to fix this?

    Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
    Or...
    Double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
    Tap and hold any icon until it wiggles
    Press the red to delete the Mail app
    Press the home twice button when done.

  • Anytime I try to click on anything in iTunes, I get a Red no sign.  This just started happening all of a sudden.

  • I am getting a white circle exclamation on my iPhoto jpegs that happened all of a sudden with no prior issues. Anyone else seeing this.

    From out of nowhere I am getting a white circle with an exclamation point when I open previously downloaded images in iPhoto.  Never had this before and it is only on select pictures with no apparent distinction.  Has anyone seen this?

    You have corruption in your library and the connection in the database between the thumbnails and the photos has been lost
    Back up your iPhoto library, depress the option and command keys, launch iPhoto and rebuild your library

    Any help to resolve this issue. The DisplayName is built-in attribute.

    My ipod touch is all of a sudden not letting me do anything that requires using my password. I can't buy anything and I can't check my purchases. Every time I put in my password I get an error message and it says try again later. This has been happening for 4 days now. I can play my existing games just fine. I can access my itunes store through the internet just fine with my password, but just not on my ipod touch. I sent an email to the itunes support store 3 days ago and have not heard back from them. Does anybody have any suggestions on why this is happening all of a sudden after having the ipod for almost 2 years?

    Something you can try is resetting it all Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings. Or go to Settings > Store & sign out & log back in. Another thing you can do is restore your ipod. This has happened to me but the only thing i did was that i created a new account but try doing the things above i just told you. :)

  • Sending email error "Delivery Notification: Delivery has failed" Why all of a sudden???

    I have been communicating just fine with a collegue of mine for a few weeks. no issues.  Within the last week when I attempt to send him an email I recive the following error message:
    Your message cannot be delivered to the following recipients:

      Reason: SMTP transmission failure has occurred
      Diagnostic code: smtp;554 Message not allowed - [320]

    He again sent me an email last night and I received his but when I replied this morning I got the above error message again.
    Can anyone help as to why this would happen all of a sudden like this?  I am not receiving any other errors at all for any of my other email communications.

    The error mentioned is caused by the sending computer clock being off.. I see you are getting the error from a Yahoo server, which matches the discussion in the thread. The thread is in relation to using thunderbird as the email client, but I suspect that does not matter. So maybe check the date/time set in your computer and see if it is off? 
    Other than that, I have no idea...sorry.

  • SQL azure connectivity fails all of a sudden

    Hi, I have a website hosted on GoDaddy server and many users access this website with their respective username and passwords. My database is in Azure. All of a sudden when the users of this website try to access the website with their username and password
    they fail to be identified as valid users though they are valid.
    consequently when such a thing happens almost for more than 5 mins no user can login to the website. but i can very well connect to the database from my local server or through the azure portal.
    the series of errors that gets logged into event viewer are as follows:
    1. System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Timeout expired.  The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.
    2. System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: a transport-level error has occured when sending the request to the server.(provider:TCP provider,error:0 - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.) 
    3. System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured
    to allow remote connections. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.)
    4. SourceEdge.BCL.BCLException: Unable to Execute  ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Timeout expired.  The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.
    5. System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null.
    Parameter name: connection
    after the error shown in 5 occurs all the subsequent logins will result in invalid user though the values are not null.
    Can you tell me why this error happens all of a sudden. but it gets back to normal after a few minutes or even takes hours sometimes.

  • IMac running extremely slow all of a sudden

    I have a 1st generation Intel iMac (24", late 2006), which ran fine for three years but all of a sudden slowed to a crawl about a month ago. I upgraded to 3GB of RAM, but didn't see any improvement; I've run the disk utility app on the system install disk and didn't get any problems; I don't see anything in the Activity Monitor that's hogging CPU usage (although iTunes uses about 7% while playing music and 20% while playing video - considerably higher when it loads a new track into RAM); and I have 70GB free on a 300GB hard disk. I realize that this is just scratching the surface, so what else should I be looking at? For what it's worth, yes I have an HP printer, but the drivers don't seem to take up that much CPU time; and I'm still on 10.4.11, so maybe it's just time to upgrade to Snow Leopard; but either way I've been on this system (and with this printer) for a long time, and I don't understand why this would happen all of a sudden...

    70GB free disk space could be at least part of the problem for the disk slowing down.
    Try Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk
    Check the startup disk for errors that may need repairing.
    Insert your install disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
    Go to Installer menu and launch Disk Utility.
    Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
    Select First Aid in the Main panel.
    *(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)*
    Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
    If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
    If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
    When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
    Select your start up disk and click Restart
    While you have the Disk Utility window open, look at the bottom of the window. Where you see Capacity and Available. *Make sure there is always 10% to 15% free disk space*
    If you cannot boot from your install disc, try booting in Safe Mode
    How to Force Background Maintenance
    One way to free up disk space...
    Open Console. Select system.log then from the Menu Bar click Reveal in Finder then move that log file to the Trash. These logs can take up as much as a GB.
