  • Adobe CS4: Error 1618. Another installation is already in progress.

I can not reinstall the Flash or Fireworks components of my Adobe CS4.  I get this error message:  Error 1618. Another installation is already in progress. I am attempting to reinstall Adobe Creative Suite 4 because Acrobat was not interfacing with my Microsoft Word.  Reinstalling Creative Suite reinstalled Acrobat which now interfaces correctly with Microsoft Word but I can not reinstall Flash or Fireworks which had been working fine.  I open my task manager and shut off any unnecessary processes and disable my Norton firewall and antivirus.  I have tried multiple times, restarting my computer after uninstalling CS4 before trying to reinstall.  Does anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this?

    Hi Charles,
I don't think this has anything to do with Crystal Reports so go back to the top of the list and try one of the Classic SAP forums:
    http://forums.sdn.sap.com/index.jspa#45
Or it may be Business One which is an OEM version of Crystal Reports in which case you need to post int his forum:

We can sometimes get past this particular message by reregistering the Windows Installer Service.
First, launch a command prompt as an administrator. In your Start search, type cmd then right-click on the cmd that comes up and select "Run as administrator".
If you have a 32 bit system
    At the command prompt:
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Restart the PC and try another install.
If you have a 64-bit system
    At the command prompt:
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Restart the PC and try another install.

  • CR 2008 SP1 Error 1500 'Another installation is in progress'

    Hi,
I'm attempting to install the SP1 for Crystal Reports 2008. When I get to the actual installation phase after extracting all the files and agreeing to the T&C's i get the following message:
"Error 1500. Another installation is in progress. You must complete that installation before continuing with this one."
I've found a couple of references to this on the web and they all suggest deleting the InProgress Installer registry key. But, having done this and rebooted I still get the same message. Any one else seen this and know how to resolve it?
I'm using Windows XP SP3, I have CR9 and CR2008 already installed if that makes any difference.
    Cheers,
    Mike

I think (and perhaps someone can validate this) that the message I'm getting is because the same build already exists on my PC. As I said in my original post i'm trying to install SP1 which according to [https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/webcontent/uuid/90d7dc4e-36ce-2b10-d2b3-d5d72d067e21 [original link is broken] [original link is broken]|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/webcontent/uuid/90d7dc4e-36ce-2b10-d2b3-d5d72d067e21 [original link is broken] [original link is broken]] is build number 12.1.0.892. When I check my installed build number it is the same and so I must conclude that I downloaded and installed the V1 release. I guess what i'm saying is that it won't allow you to install the incremental SP1 on top of the V1 and it's error message is none to helpfull.
If anyone can confirm this then it may save others with this issue for wasting time as I have just done.

  • I'm having trouble downloading my subscription to a new computer keep getting an error 1 ( another installation going on) which is not the case.

I've trying to relocate and download my subscription to  a new computer and just keep getting an error 1 message ( some other download going on-which is not the case) anyone else have this problem

Without proper system information and other details nobody can help you. and this error means what it says - some other install process is still active, even if it may not do so visible. Could be a silent update of a virus scanner or something, could be a botched install of another program, not even specifically Adobe. As a start, always reboot your computer and then try again. For anything else we need much more info.

  • Another installer already running

When I originally downloaded PS Elements 13 and tried to run the installer, it would always crash - telling me that another installer was already running.  I had to download the files manually.  Now the software is trying to apply an update to version 13.1 and I am having the same problem - the installer tells me that another installer is already running.
I have rebooted my machine (running Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 x64) in case another process was hanging around from a previous software update but this makes no difference.  Anyone got any suggestions?
    Thanks!

check your running processes in task manager.

    Hi,
I'm sorry you're having problems installing/uninstalling air.  Have you tried rebooting to see if that resolves the issue?
If it still fails, can you enable MSI logging using the instructions found on the following page and then post the msi log contents for review?
How to enable Windows Installer logging
    Thanks,

  • "Adobe Installer is already running."

Downloaded CS5.5  for Windows Trial edition. When the Adobe Download Assistant completed the download, it did not install the software,  and I received the error message "Adobe Installer is already running."
Nothing else is running on this machine, as I shut down all programs and the Windows firewall. Went to the Adobe InDesign file on C: amd opened the file and clicked set-up and received the same message.
Tried repeating the download, with the same result.
Called Adobe and they are closed for the weekend.

Many thanks! That solved the problem. Verne

Well, if it tells you it is running, then it is running. Check your task manager for instances of setup.exe and msiexec.exe and terminate them. Mylenium

  • Another installation?

    Hi
iTunes was working fine up until today - I clicked on the icon this morning and the Windows installer came up and then another window appeared, headed 'Problem with Shortcut' - the warning message ran 'Another installation is already in progress. Complete that installation before proceeding with this install.'
    Any clues?

I've resolved this but now I have another problem - I'll get back to you...

  • CS6 Design and Web Premium - Install Error "You are already running another installer,"

    Hi
I have just downloaded CS6 Design and Web Premium and I have been having problems running the Adobe Installer on a Windows 8 HP laptop. The Adobe installer gets 75% way through the setup process and then stops with error message "Installerfailed to initialise".
I have run Adobe Support Advisor and the error message is "cpsid_82829s6: "You are already running another installer," bootstrapper error has occurred."
I have looked at the FAQ's and have done the following
I have checked System Resources -> Process and I can't see any other setup programmes running
I have run CS5 Cleaner tool and cleared out any older versions of adobe products
    Rebooted the laptop
Tried running the Adobe Installer and the same error messages appear.
    Submitted/packaged the Adobe Support Adviser - 40-85436-165301042013
I did prevousily have CS6 Cloud Trial running on the Laptop but all of the porgramms have been uninstalled and the CS5 Cleaner Toll appears to have cleared any remaining elements.
I would be grateful for some help and advice in sorting this out.
    Kind regards
    Steve

    Hi
I have hopfully attached a PDF with screen shots of the process.
Hopefully will be of some help in resolving the problem.
    Kind regards

  • Add-on installation failed because another version is already installed

when desinstaler addon, and soon trying to install he himself addon but with a superior version, does not leave. Since it says that it must be a later version, when it is it. There is some site where cleans the registry of addones installed?
the message is : "Add-on Ficheros de banco: Add-on installation failed because another version is already installed. Ensure that the version number is higher than the version previously installed."

The best way is to go in Addon-Project Development and in its Bin directory change its exe name.  for example it its exe name is abc.exe then change it to abc1_0.exe
    It will work properly.

  • Error message 1500, installation already in progress. Help!

I'm having a problem. I was trying to download a program from Abbottdiabetescare.com so my husband can monitor his blood sugars. When it is almost finished loading, it comes up with an error message that says It says "Error 1500.  Another installation is in progress. You must complete that installation before continuing this one."  That's a direct quote.  I got on the phone with their tech support but they couldn't help me at all. They said it had to be some process on the computer. His computer is a Toshiba Satellite L355-S7915. It runs on Vista. I have turned all of my Norton security off, and have restarted the computer, I disabled tss.exe because it was causing issues, but it still comes up with the same error message. Thanks for any help!

I was in safe mode with networking and now got this message.  Is it because I'm in safe mode?
That's my guess. It tells us the Windows Installer is being used. That service is apparently not loaded in Safe Mode. See KB2642495. You've never seen that message after booting in normal mode, right?
Do the System Restore as far back as you can.
Also, uninstall the Norton stuff. Tear it out by the roots.
Download and run the Norton Removal Tool to uninstall your Norton product
Replace it for now with Microsoft's program, which interferes with nothing.

  • How do I resolve the error "Another installer is currently running, which must be closed before updating" when updating CC on MacOS 10.9.4?

Creative Cloud keeps alerting me to an available update but whenever I try to install it it tells me there is another installer running which must be shut down first.
I've now shut down and restarted the Mac completely and nothing else is running but it still gives me the same error (Error code: 81). See screen shot below.
I'm running Mavericks (OSX 10.9.4). How do I resolve this?

    Please try the mentioned steps:
    1. Navigate to Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installer and look for CC desktop, if present run the uninstaller to uninstall it.
    2. Navigate to Applications/Utilities and look for Adobe Application Manager folder and Creative cloud folder. If present move to trash and empty it.
    3. Navigate to Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE and rename to OOBE.old
    4. Download CC desktop from: https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud and try to install again.
