Error -- 36: DEFINITE BUG

Using Snow Leopard 10.6.2, I copied 5.2g of files in a variety of folders from a FAT32 flash drive to a temp folder on my desktop. I then erased the flash drive so I could use all its capacity on a Windows machine. After erasing the temporary contents, I tried to copy the original contents back to the flash drive and received numerous "Error -- 36" messages. I have never before had any issues with the flash drive.
Like others, I tried a variety of workarounds, copying a folder at a time, using Command-C, Command-V instead of click and drag, opening the folder and selecting all the contents then pasting, etc, etc, etc. Nothing worked consistently, but I was able to force feed, bits at a time, back on to the flash drive.
However, I recently installed Windows 7 via Parallels desktop on a new iMac and was successful in copying all the files -- using iMac hardware and Windows 7 under Parallels, on to the flash drive with NO errors. In my mind, that rules out hardware issues and leaves only the OS.

The following Apple KB document describes error -36 as:
"Type -36 error (I/O Errors (bummers)
This file is having difficulty while either reading from the drive or writing to the drive. The file
may have been improperly written data to the drive or the hard drive or disk may be damaged.
This is almost always indicative of a media error (hard error on the disk). Sometimes (rarely) it is transient."

Definite bugs in "install_flashplayer14x32au_mssa_aaa_aih.exe"

Note first that I was a senior IT contractor (all my code was bonded) so I do know a fair bit about computers.
There are definitely bugs in the install fil : "install_flashplayer14x32au_mssa_aaa_aih.exe"
I am on FIREFFOX 30, WIN XP PRO SP3
Here was my experience :
* I did not realize my daughter had already installed the update, because the adobe site kept coming up on FIREFOX automatically every time that the browser started (even though flash sites work fine and it was installed properly by her).
* So I ran it. The install claimed (every time) that I do not have enough drive space. This is not the case.
I went on to the page for testing my install ( "http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html" ) which told me
    Congratulations, your computer has the latest Flash Player beta
    version installed. ( Your version14.0.0.125 Latest Version12.0.0.77 )
and the flash animation was fine.
However I still kept having the install page on ADOBE come up when FIREFOX started up. I tried (again and again) to use the install :
    "install_flashplayer14x32au_mssa_aaa_aih.exe"
but every single time I got the error about not having enough drive space (I do so - tons)
* so I looked at forum posts and found the bundled install lin ( install_flash_player.exe )
And I used this instead (to make sure all was well)
    http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/support/install_flash_player.exe
    The version in the properties is 14.0.0.125
This installed perfectly.
- I did not get any error messages telling me I did not have enough drive space
- I no longer to sent off to ADOBE every time FIREFOX starts, with a message telling me I need to update
* The page "http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html" gives me this feedback :
    Congratulations, your computer has the latest Flash Player beta
    version installed. ( Your version14.0.0.125 Latest Version12.0.0.77 )
So, I suggest you fix "install_flashplayer14x32au_mssa_aaa_aih.exe" so that it :
1) knows that the program is already installed (duh)
2) does not tell people they do not have enough drive space when they do

I'm trying to use import com.adobe.crypto.* on Windows version of my App but get error 1172:Definition com.adobe.crypto could not be found

The Mac version of my Air app works fine, so does the iPad version, but the PC version has been a bit of a nightmare.
I keep getting the error "1172:Definition com.adobe.crypto could not be found", when I publish it.
Basically the 'com' folder is in the same directory as the app I am publishing and within that is 'adobe' and within that is 'crypto' within that is a series of .as files.
I've added C:\Users\Gary\Documents\My_Applications\My_App_folder\com\adobe\crypto to source path list (I have no idea if that's right).
But that just gives me a different error 5001: The name of package com.adobe.crypto does not reflect the location of this file. Please change the package definitions name inside the file.......
I didn't have to include this source in the Mac version... but someone seemed to suggest it on a forum.
I'm basically stabbing in the dark at the mount, something I seem to be doing a lot of these days. :-(

I've figured it out
Turns out I needed to add a source path (in the Actionscript 3 settings click on the Source File Tab) that exactly matches the directory the app and com folder is inside of. I wrongly assumed that Adobe Air could figure out where it was for itself, but no.... it needs to be told where to look for the com folder even though it's staring it right in its face. (Don't set the path to the 'com' folder itself, but to the enclosing folder that the .fla and the com is in).
The Mac version doesn't seem to need that, it just finds the com folder if it's inside the same folder.
Now I've got another massive error:-
When I test the app, it works fine sending to Air for Desktop, however when I publish with embedded runtime for Windows.... It comes up with this error.
Any ideas ?

Feedback about glitches, misbehaviors errors, missing features, bugs

I couldn't find a thread where I could submit feedback about glitches, misbehaviors errors, missing features, bugs (and things of that nature) encountered when using Edge and needed a place where I could collect them writing about them as they happen and before I forget.
This is not a whishlist, rather simply a place where I'd like to send feedback and hopefully get clarifications on something that may be a non working feature, erratic behavior or a bug.
That said here is the first one of them:
Where: Edge Animate > Library>Assets
What: Impossible to remove from the list the folder and/or assets
When: Always
How: After adding asset (add an image to the composition) remove the image from the composition. Then if you would like to remove that asset, there isn't an option to do so. The contextual menu only offer one choice "Reveal in Finder" (on a Mac) which is basically reading the path of the asset and opening the containing folder for the selected asset.
Only removing the file or folder from the location (which Edge has stored as a path) would yield a removal from the list of the Library>Asset The item will be removed from the list when, upon right clicking and selecting "Reveal in Finder" Edge will not find the asset and ask the user if they want to reload the content of that list which basically will refresh the pointers and if the asset won't be found then the entry for it will be removed from the list. (Quite a cumbersome hoop-jumping just to remove an asset from the list)
Why: Users wanting to manage and update the content of the Assets may want to see some listed but may want to ignore other entries that have been replaced with different assets, but they want to keep the files within the folder where they were originally placed.
For instance adding images 001.jpg through 100.jpg and later removing all odd images or even ones from the composition, the Library will still list them in the assets unless removed from that folder "physically" and placing them somewhere else doing an "update" in the library pane later as explained above. Leaving the unused assets in the list when not necessary adds to clutter and having to perform a manual workaround to update the UI isn't very efficient
(a minor missing feature... not a feature request to start this feedback thread)
Hope this helps keep track of issues, but if there's a better way/system, will be glad to use that instead.

Bug Reporting (is there anywhere users can provide feedback about bugs/program's glitches?)
Not knowing where to list what would appear to be bugs/glitches I'll keep adding them here and hopefully someone at the Edge Team will look into it eventually as time allows
Issue: Min W in Symbols' stage property won't stick to percentage.
To reproduce behavior:
- Create symbol,
- Double click to edit created symbol,
- When in Symbol Edit mode, click on the stage (once),
- Edit the Min W of the symbol's stage properties on the left "Properties" panel,
- Without changing the value (which will be zero), toggle px to percentage,
- Save your project,
...et voilà by magic the property you just toggled reverts itself to px
(To make it stick apparently it's necessary to change the value in the text field then toggle px to % and it will be properly kept when saving.)
side note: I don't know if that's something that can be a factor in causing the glitch, but each time a project is saved and a the user is "inside" a symbol's stage, the values in the properties panel will display the main stage properties and then will go load again the properties of the symbol being edited.

I have a requirement where I have to use/ enhance the standard HR workflow template WS04200009 for leave approval.
The problem is when I click on Workflow Builder in PFTC, its giving the following error :-

SAP has given details for this error like this:-

Diagnosis
The workflow definition with the ID WS04200009 in version 0000 could not be read from the database.

Secondly, I tried to copy this standard workflow template to a custom one.
But here also, its copying only the Workflow Container elements, workflow template is not coming.
Please guide me what can be the solution.

Hi Navjot.
We faced the same issue, and need to apply the OSS note - 962488. (Recommended by SAP). After applying the note you need to execute the FM - SWD_WFD_REPLICATE_FROM_9999 input parameter as the workflow ID which is missing.

I checked my workflow template in SWU7 .Its gives me error "Workflow definition does not exits".
In the bottom left of screen it displays message : "Container Element ZBUS2081 is not used".

Why there are differences in error table definitions?
We are using OWB repository 10.2.0.3.0 and OWB client 10.2.0.3.33. The Oracle version is 10 G (10.2.0.3.0). OWB is installed on Linux.
I created a error table using DBMS_ERRLOG.CREATE_ERROR_LOG in databse.
Here is the layout.

How do we bring manually created error table metadata into OWB? Is it feasible?
I specified data rule/shadow table for imported table using object editor. I deployed the table via CC.

Are there any additional steps/process?

There are columns for data rule errors (logical errors) and DML errors (physical errors), I think you probably have data rules on the table..?
To process DML errors you will have to add the error table into a map you may have to reverse engineer it). The error group behavior is only available for processing errors from tables with data rules. Ensure your table operator is synchronized with your design table.

Illustrator CC 2014 error message definition

When attempting to save an .eps file in IllustratorCC 204, I get an error message "can't save error ID:-50". Can you tell mw what it means and how I can rectify it?

I think TrueType. MyriadPro.
I have never had this problem with the previous version.
The problem is only in Illustrator.

Changing text of OOTB error message definition.

Hi ,
We have a requirement to change the text of description of Error Message definition which are out of the box.
For e.g Key -----------436
Code---- ------DOBJ.ACT_DUPLICATE_ORGNAME
Description---Organization Name Already Exists
I want to cahnge the description to some other text.
Please suggest how to do it.
When we are trying to edit it directly from error message definition it is not happening and error is coming saying
"The security level for this data item indicates that it cannot be updated"

How does the Error Row Definition and Error Message Lookup setup work?

Suppose I use web ADI to load data to PA_TRANSACTION_INTERFACE_ALL (This is Oracle standard Interface table for Projects)
I call a Importer (The Importer is called post upload of data to above Interface Table). The Importer will update the Interface table columns (TRANSACTION_STATUS_CODE) and (TRANSACTION_REJECTION_CODE) with values based on the clearing all validations. If validation fails, the column, TRANSACTION_STATUS_CODE is updated with value 'R' and TRANSACTION_REJECTION_CODE has the error code. This error code is stored in the Lookup, with Lookup Type = 'TRANSACTION REJECTION REASON'
I define the Error Row Definition as follows -
select * from PA_TRANSACTION_INTERFACE_ALL where TRANSACTION_STATUS_CODE = 'R' and BATCH_NAME = $param$.batchname (BATCH_NAME is populated in the Web ADI Template)
I define the Error Message Lookup as -

I have defined the , Document Row : Interface Attribute Mapping - with the column, ORIG_TRANSACTION_REFERENCE (THe column with the Unique value for a row and links the Excel row with the Interface table)
I feel my setups are fine. Still why the Error -
An error has occurred while running an API import. The ERRORED_ROWS step 275:ER_501996, parameter number 1 must contain the value BIND in attribute 1.

Compilation error: "The definition of base class Application was not found."

I imported my Flash Builder 4.6 project to the 4.7 pre-release version. My application use a CustomSystemManager (in order to force the loading of a "TextContainerManager", I'm using latest TextLayoutFramework 3.0.0.29).
I had no error with previous versions (Flex SDK 4.5 and Flex SDK 4.6).
My application is main.mxml :

If I right click on the "Application" word and then "Open declaration", the correct class from spark.components is opened...
I don't know if this is a bug or a side effect... ^^

The packages of the CustomSystemManager don't seem to match:
[Frame(factoryClass="skyrockchat.CustomSystemManager")] has "skyrockchat" as the package and another place says to put CustomSystemManager in package "myapp".

Would like to know where I can find the definition of error codes
for JDBC thin driver to Oracle 7 database. Right now, when I have
database errors, I get SQL execption with CODE=XXXXXX. Need to

Hi,
thin client session Language is controlled by java Locale.
Based on testing code, ORA- messages are localized after the connection is successfully established. ORA- messages returned in the middle of connecting are in instance language.
So, as far as I can say, you need to catch exceptions from DriverManager.getConnection(url, info); and translate them on your own.
Once the connection is successfully returned, ORA- message language is defined by java Locale.
Tests were performed on Oracle 10gR2 (both thin driver and DB).

Error Handling - jbo25013 bug? - and workaround

When I insert a record with a duplicate key and use errorpage.jsp to catch the exception(s), then every legitimate insert I do thereafter produces the same exceptions ie. JBO-26041, then JBO-25013.
A workaround for this is to surround my submission code in submit.jsp with a try {..)catch{} block.

However I have a number of queries:
i. Is this behavior of getting stuck on an error a bug in bc4j or perhaps in JDev's internal webserver?
ii. When errors are generated by errorpage.jsp, I first get JBO-26041, then if I press the refresh button on my browser I get JBO-25013, a more detailled message. I though that using
(oracle.jbo.JboException)exception.getDetails()
as errorpage.jsp does, would trap all the errors in the one page.
Any comments on the above behavior would be welcome.

Error in compilation - Bug in the Oracle Java Compiler ? (10.1.3)

I've the following situation :
I've a class wich extends ViewObjectImpl,named ClViewObjectImpl, and another class, named RbViewObjectImpl wich extends ClViewObjectImpl.
My classes have only a constructor with no parameters .
Compiling with standard Oracle complier I get the following error

I met same problem as robinZ when upgrading APEX 3.2.1 to 4.0. Database is 11.2.0.1.0.
Here is a procedure of installation. It's almost same as user12146287 but I use apex_4.0.zip, not apex_4.0_en.zip.
1, unzip apex_4.0.zip
2, create tablespace for APEX 4.0
CREATE BIGFILE TABLESPACE ts_apex4 DATAFILE 'C:\xxx\TS_APEX4.DBF' SIZE 100M AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 10M MAXSIZE UNLIMITED;
3, move to apex folder
4, login db with SQL*Plus as sysdba
5, run "@apexins ts_apex4 ts_apex4 temp /i/"
6, then I've received ORA-01756 error. Here is a log
