Error 3880, at my wit's end
I've been searching these forums for months, trying to find a solution for my problem. And I've almost given up!The CD starts to burn, and then iTunes cancels burning. The Nero Burning software that I have behaves the same way, except iTunes says "Unexpected error [3880]" every time. This began happening regularly in March, about a week after I successfully burned another CD. Any help that anyone could offer would be MUCH appreciated! I've run iTunes diagnostics and include the results below:
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 (Build 2600)

If you have multiple drives on the same IDE or SCSI bus, these drives may interfere with each other.
Some computers need an update to the ATA or IDE bus driver, or Intel chipset. If iTunes has problems recognizing CDs or hanging or crashing while importing or burning CDs, check the support site for the manufacturer of your computer or motherboard.
Check the Windows Update website to verify that you have the latest service packs and patches for your OS. Service packs affect the performance of USB and firewire CD / DVD drives.

Would updating Norton have affected iTunes's burning ability? Because I believe I updated the anti-virus at around the same time that a lot of things started going wrong with other programs. ;)
hmmmmm. i'm more accustomed to seeing reports of folks having trouble with importing after a Norton install (or an itunes install/upgrade on a PC running Norton). that's usually related to the issue discussed in this Symantec troubleshooting document:
iTunes cannot connect to the Music Store or Shared Music after installing Norton Internet Security
... are you getting any peculiar symptoms when you try importing commercial CDs, too?

I originally posted this question to the community section and was advised to post it here. Please bear with me as this will be a long post. I'm including the scenarios involving this reoccurring issue, the trouble shooting steps I've already
taken and the results of several diagnostic tools and logs.
I have a Sony VAIOS VPCEBB33FM lap top since 2011. I have had this issue on an off for a long time. I'm at my wit's end. Any new insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Scenario Details
1) Some times it's on and off through out the day, sometimes it won't work all day, and once in a while it will work fine for the entire day.
2) I've had this issue across several wireless services, Clear Network accessed with WiMax, Library Wi-fi, Comcast cable internet using wireless router and Wi-fi, and Comcast Xfinity Wi-Fi, to name a few examples.
3) Other devices in the household or library will work with no problems such as my smart phone or my roommates' laptops or desktop computers.
4) Once in a while, the built-in wireless adapter is not found and I have to reinstall the driver. Also the diagnostic tool has had to reset my adapter on an increasing basis.
5) I had my hard drive replaced in December 2014 and my system restored from the System Restore disks that came with it when I bought the laptop. Even though I've been online on an infrequent basis it worked just fine for a while. Now that
I've been online a bit more I'm having the same issues again.
Below are my attempts at trouble shooting so far but I still have not been able to consistently resolve my DNS issues
1) Restarting my adapter
2) Turning off my laptop and removing the power supply for 5-10 minutes before turning it back on.
3) Using the IP Config in Command Prompt
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /registerdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
4) Using the NetSh reset in Command Prompt and restarting my laptop
netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
netsh winsock reset
ipconfig /flushdns
[restart laptop]
5) Configuring the TCP/IP in several settings
Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), and then click Properties.
I have used the following settings:
a) Obtain an DNS server address automatically
b) OpenDNS
208 67 222 222
208 67 220 220
c) Google DNS
8 8 8 8
8 8 4 4
6) Updating the driver for my Intel Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6250 AGN and Intel Centrino(R) WIMAX 6250 from the Intel website previous having my laptop wiped clean in 2014. It still did not resolve the issue. My laptop
manufacturer as not come up with an driver update for my adapter since 2010. I haven't tried to update the adapter driver from Intel's website since having my laptop repaired due to the fact that Intel strongly recommending using the manufacturer's updates
instead and frankly it didn't make much of a difference when I did it the first time.
7) The last one I've tried as of today is going into Services and changing the start up type to automatic for the following:
Computer Browser [changed from manual to automatic]
DHCP Client [already set to automatic]
DNS Client [already set to automatic]
Network Connections [already set to automatic]
Network Location Awareness [changed from manual to automatic]
Remote Procedure Call (RPC) [already set to automatic]
Server [already set to automatic]
TCP/IP Netbios helper [already set to automatic]
Workstation [already set to automatic]
...and I'm still having DNS issues.
My only guessing are that my laptop came with a lemon adapter that needs to be replaced, some advanced setting(s) that I'm not aware off, or my firewall/anti-virus is interfering. I've used Symmantic Anti-virus and Firewall in the past and currently
Avast Anti-Virus with Microsoft Network Firewall. I've had DNS issues with both anti-virus/firewall set ups.
Below are the results from the diagnostics and tests that I've ran.

Error : No valid R/3 Back-end system
Hi CRM gurus,
I'm trying to connect SAP CRM 5.0 to SAP ECC 5.0.
When I launch trx R3AS for downloading the first object of the list coming from Best Practise (DNL_CUST_ACGRPB), I am getting the above error: "No valid R/3 Back-end system."
Now the point is that RFCs work smoothly, administration console as well and R/3 view CRMRFCPAR was filled correctly.
Where is the problem? I'm looking into, but without results.
Any suggestions in this issue will be rewarded.
Regards,
AndreAMany thanks Praveen,
I have carried out all the checks in the tables and it seems that everything is fine!.
Creating a RFC Destication for CRM in R/3
Maintain Table CRMRFCPAR and CRMCONSUM?
In Table CRMPAROLTP, Parameter "crm release" should set to your CRM version ( ex 500 for crm 5.0)
Maintain table TBE11, APPI should be NDI(new dimension integration),A yes
I don't really know where the error could lay.

Hi,
To configure your ODBC DataSource, go to Control Panel ---> DataSources(ODBC) (If you are in a Windows environment).
Select the tab System DSN. If you have not added your data source, then do so by clicking on the Add button. If you have added the datasource, click on the Configure button to configure it.
Give the datasource name, then the database name.
You have to give the hostname, service name and server name. I guess, in most cases, the datasource name and host name will be the same, service name and server name will be the same. If you are using TCP/IP, the protocol will be onsoctcp.
There will be a file named Services under C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc where you have to give the port number for accessing this server.
It will be like this <service name> <portnumber>/tcp
Hope this helps...
best wishes,

SQL Loader Error : ORA-01830: date format picture ends before converting en
I am inserting following data
BES101706 M.E. Deals 7 10/17/2006
through control file :
LOAD DATA
APPEND
INTO TABLE abc_temp
FIELDS TERMINATED BY ' '
TRAILING NULLCOLS
(BATCH_NAME ,
SUPPLIER_NAME ,
SUPPLIER_NBR ,
INV_DATE "to_date(substr(:INV_DATE,1,10),'MM/DD/YYYY' )"
But I am getting this error:
ORA-01830: date format picture ends before converting entire input string
inv_data is a date field in the database.I think it has to do with data format.Exactly.
You have
BES101706*M.E.*Deals*7*10/17/2006
I replace each space with an asterisk. You have 5 columns according to your spec (terminated by '<space>')
SQL Loader doesn't know that M.E. Deals is the supplier name.
It's trying to convert 7 as the date. -

Loading and with error message :COLLECTION in SOURCE SYSTEM ENDED
Hi,
Facing problem with master data object while loading and with error message :COLLECTION in SOURCE SYSTEM ENDED
This load is getting failed every day. It is a full load and records are getting transferered and added.
when we check in details tab in RSMO all data packets in processing is green but in extraction some of the data selection scheduled are in yellow. We are changing QM status to green as records are added.
Version i am using is BW 3.5
Please let me know what will be the problem???
Thanks,
Edited by: lokesh thonsyd on Feb 18, 2009 8:55 AMFirst try to find out the reason for the load failure. Once you fix this, do a manual run of the infopackage and when successful you can continue with the rest of process chain.
Sometimes, it doesn't help to just set a request to green status in order to run the process chain from that step on to the end.
You need to set the failed request/step to green in the database as well as you need to raise the event that will force the process chain to run to the end from the next request/step on.
Therefore you need to open the messages of a failed step by right clicking on it and selecting 'display messages'.
In the opened popup click on the tab 'Chain'.
In a parallel session goto transaction se16 for table rspcprocesslog and display the entries with the following selections:
1. copy the variant from the popup to the variante of table rspcprocesslog
2. copy the instance from the popup to the instance of table rspcprocesslog
3. copy the start date from the popup to the batchdate of table rspcprocesslog
Press F8 to display the entries of table rspcprocesslog.
Now open another session and goto transaction se37. Enter RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH as the name of the function module and run the fm in test mode.
Now copy the entries of table rspcprocesslog to the input parameters of the function module like described as follows:
1. rspcprocesslog-log_id -> i_logid
2. rspcprocesslog-type -> i_type
3. rspcprocesslog-variante -> i_variant
4. rspcprocesslog-instance -> i_instance
5. enter 'G' for parameter i_state (sets the status to green).
Now press F8 to run the fm.
Now the actual process will be set to green and the following process in the chain will be started and the chain can run to the end. -

"Error occurred while launching. The end of the file was reached" ?
I have OS 9.2.2 and, recently, OS X 10.3.9, installed on my machine. I have not yet transferred my Outlook Express files to MAIL. Yesterday, I was attempting to clean out my Outlook Express DELETE files when I noticed that I had hit the wrong key and was deleting my IN files. I couldn't stop the process,so I turned off my machine. Now, whenever I try to connect with Outlook Express, I get the message "Error occurred while launching. The end of the file was reached". Now, Outlook Express is no longer supported by Microsoft, so it's time to change to Safari, anyway, but I have many files in Outlook Express that I want to save. Can anything be done?
David,
No solutipn yet, but I'm still hopeful. However, I would appreciate your comments on the following:
1. I still could not open Outlook Express, even after rebuilding the desktop--twice--and downloading it again. However, I just noticed that you recommended the use of a OS 9 CD, not a download. I'll look around for the CD if you feel that's the only way to go. Is it?
2. When I downloaded the OS 9 Outlook Express, the window said to copy it to my Hard disk. I assume that means just to drag the Outlook Express icon to the top of the Hard Disk icon. Is that correct?
3. If all else fails, what about those programs that have been around for years that facilitate the retrieval of otherwise lost files. Would such a program be helpful in this case? If so, can you mention a few of them? I want to retain some of those files, even if it means having to spend a hundred dollars or so for the necessary software.
4. Yes, such mishaps can indeed be painful. Fortunately, although I am a bit of a fumble-fingers, the problems I have encountered since I bought my set in 1999 as the result of such clumsiness have been few. It looks like I've been lucky, but that I am paying for it now.

ERROR at line 1: ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
I have a DRDA gateway set up between my Oracle 10.2.0.4 instance (linux 64 bit), and a DB2 UDB instance (v 8.2 32 Bit). Within a SQLPlus session, I'm able to successfully interact with tables (select, update, delete) that do not have CLOB columns defined. However, whenever I try to access a table with a CLOB column (even doing a select on a single row), I get an end-of-file communication error and it kicks me out of my session. I can interact with the table as long as I don't include the CLOB/BLOB columns. Is there some additional configuration or memory settings I'm missing?

Edited by: kpw on Sep 3, 2009 4:21 PMUnfortunately TG4DRDA 10.2.0 does not support DB2 (C)LOB datatype. A crash is a rather unpleasant way to report this inability... but that could depend on the version of TG4DRDA you use (10.2.0.1.0). I guess when you upgrade TG4DRDA to 10.2.0.4.0 you will get a proper error message (ORA-28527 - datatype conversion error).
As workaround you could:
- create a view on the DB2 table and exclude the (C)LOB columns
- move/copy the (C)LOB data into a TG4DRDA supported datatype ((long) varchar for bit data)

I'm trying to install boot partition on /dev/hda2 and the Solaris on /dev/hda3.
Is there any way to overcome this error without repartitioning the disk ?I agree that there is no obvious error from the data you've provided.
What version of Solaris are you running
uname -a
Are you using a SCSI disk or a SATA drive?
On Solaris it affect which driver we use.
I've very curious what the geometry stored in the Solaris disk label is.
Would it be possible for you to dump the fdisk partition table
and the Solaris disk labels and vtoc and send them to me.
dd if=/dev/dsk/c0d0p0 of=/tmp/mbr count=1
dd if=/dev/dsk/c0d0p2 of=/tmp/pbr count=3

As a workaround:
Since partition is 82 is a linux swap partition, it should be relatively easy to
shrink that partition by a few cylinders and then run makeswap
with no loss of information.
