Error -39 when downloading podcasts

I am using windows vista home premium and recently when I try to download podcasts a portion of it will download or it will error out both with -39 "unknown error" I have disabled AVG firewall, ITUNES was set to allow, when I run the diagnostics in ITUNES it says that I am not the admin for the pc but it is the only user on the pc and it is admin. I have checked parental settings, all off, I have checked router ports and am able to use my girlfriends laptop on the same network and receive no error. I am able to download tv shows with no error, but not podcasts. If anyone knows how to change ITUNES show it also shows the admin acct or has any ideas on other steps please let me know I am out of ideas. Thank you in advance

Here is the diagnostic test info that ITUNES gives:

Just recently getting error message when downloading podcasts.  Says "The iTunes Library file cannot be save.  You do not have enough access privileges for this operation."  Doesn't happen every time.  Using Windows 7.  What can I do?  The files seem to be there but I don't know if they are being backed up to cloud.

    Hi, DickmoAZ.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
This sounds like a permission issue most likely with the iTunes Media folder.  Here is an article that will help you troubleshoot this issue.

  • Receiving Error 9006 when downloading Podcast

    Hey guys,
I got an Error when trying to download Podcast: it will randomly stop downloading showing Errorcode 9006. 1 Podcast will always start from beginning when this happens and I press "retry", others will usually take of from where they stop and continue to their end.
    What I've tried so far:
    1. Reinstalled iTunes
    2. Restarted Machine
    3. Flushed Ipconfig
    4. Checked the Host file
    5. Disabled my firewall and antivirus (Kaspersky 2014)
The network and internet connection are stable and working.
    Anybody got an idea?

I was having the same error 9006 trying to download a rented movie on iTunes. I read on another board it might have something to do with Internet Explorer 8 and iTunes using the same downloader. My Explorer 8 had recently quit working but I didn't care because I use Firefox. However, I then started getting the 9006 error on iTunes. On Windows 7 you have to go to the control panel. Click on "uninstall a program", in the uninstall window go to the left column and click on "Turn Window features on or off", this will open another window with the Windows features check marked. Uncheck Internet Explorer, then restart your computer. After it restarts, go back to the uninstall programs feature again and click "Turn Window features on or off", put a check mark next to Internet Explorer and restart the computer again. This fixed the problem with Internet Explorer and iTunes started the download without any errors popping up.

  • Error message when downloading podcasts (error-61) what does it mean?

I have been subscribed to several podcasts that I found on itunes. Some days they download perfectly, and some days I get the error message: "error-61". How do I find out what this error means and fix the problem?

This forum is for questions from those managing sites on iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store. You'll be most likely to get help with this issue if you ask in the general iTunes forums.
    Regards.

  • Error message when downloading podcasts

A few of my podcasts have recently (within the last ten days) stopped downloading and are coming up with the message: " There was a problem adding "..." to iTunes. The file might be corrupted or a file type that iTunes cannot play." I'm specifically getting this message on "The Adam Carolla Podcast," "The B.S. Report," and "MSNBC Rachel Maddow."
I just downloaded the new version of iTunes and that didn't seem to fix it. Nor did unsubscribing, deleting and re-subscribing to the podcasts. Any suggestions?

I found the issue. It is an access problem to the file you are using.
    See http://themattharris.com/2009/07/03/itunes-says-there-was-a-problem-downloading- you-do-not-have-enough-access-privileges/
I had changed some of my privileges to the folder I use and didn't realize the impact. Once I changed it back to full read/write privilege, it started working.

  • I am getting Error = 9006 when downloading some Podcasts

I am getting Error = 9006 when downloading a podcast, Derb Radio on TakiMag, but not other podcasts.  It started occurring recently, about 3 of the last 4. This occurs on both a Windows and Apple machine.  iTunes is updated.  It does not occur with other podcasts.  Then end result is that the podcast does not download.
I also get a "rebuffering stream" interruption during playback on the computer.

    Hello there, johnsilker.
The following Knowledge Base article references some great information in regard to the very error you're seeing:
Resolve iOS update and restore errors
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694#9006
    Particularly:
    Check your security software
Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006. Sometimes security software can prevent your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.
Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't preventing a connection to the Apple servers.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

Thanks for taking a stab at it: that didn't prove to be the problem. That option in the settings for tabbed browsing was not checked.
I may be a bit behind the times: I am used to tabbed browsing showing all the tabs it possibly can, instead of just the last one. Sometimes it won't even show the last tab: I can have 15 tabs open, and not see a single tab. I've been confused by this into closing a window with lots of tabs open, because it looks like a single page-window.
My main problem with the tab-bar flashing to the end of the row is that it means a great deal more mouse-clicking around to browse.
I haven't tried installing the latest beta. Maybe that would fix the problem.

  • Error message when downloading from Google Play Store

After recently doing the toshiba system update for my AT300-32gb tablet I now get the following error message when downloading free apps from Google Play Store -Error processing purchase {DF-BPA-13].
Automatic update for downloaded apps no longer works either. Anyone have a solution to this?

Go into your settings and touch "apps" on the left. Then touch "Google Play services" and tap "Clear data" and "Clear cache." Then touch "Apps" again on the left. Now do the same for the "Google Play Store" entry. Then hold down the power button until it asks if you want to turn it off. Go ahead and turn off the tablet. Then turn it back on and try again.

    This worked for someone
I had this problem for about six weeks. I was following this forum but was too unsure of what might happen to try the fixes that were suggested.
About two weeks ago I decided to delete the downloads.28.sqlitedb file (usingDiskAid(a free program), on a PC running Windows 7). The original downloads.28.sqlitedb was 936 KB. The new one that the system created is 80 Kb., and has stayed at about that size. After about four days I also deleted all the other contents of the Download folder. Ten days later and still no more problems. Downloads are much quicker, nothing greys-out (as was happening frequently before).
Everything has worked well since with no more error messages.
I am using an iPod 4G, iOS 5.1 (originally iOS 5.0). I do not have a manifest file, and as far as I know, have not had one. DiskAid can search the whole "hard drive" on the iPod.
Deleting downloads.28.sqlitedb and the contents of Downloads worked for me.
