Error 42023. songs wont download.FIX?

i dont know if this will help everybody, but apple got back to me w/ a fix that worked..
1. Open iTunes.
2. Choose, from the pull-down "Store" menu, "Sign Out."
3. If a message appears, stating that signing out will cancel any downloads, confirm your choice to sign out.
4. Close iTunes.
5. Open your "My Music" folder. My Music is often stored within My Documents or My Computer.
6. In My Music, open the "iTunes" folder.
7. In iTunes, open the "iTunes Music" folder.
8. Lastly, look for and open the "Downloads" folder. If you cannot locate this, skip past the remaining steps to the end.
9. Inside of the Downloads folder, locate any files or folders with .tmp at the end of them.
10. Move the .tmp folder(s) to the Recycle Bin.
Once you've cleared the .tmp files, you will need to follow the steps in the following article:
iTunes Store: Error -42023
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2343

Does the song play in iTunes on the computer?
What is the source of the songs?
What is the details of the mp3 format?

  • Error -42023, song stopped downloading from itunes

I bought a movie soundtrack and only the first half of the songs were downloaded. It looks like the rest are fully downloaded because all of their statuses say 6.9 MB of 6.9 MB or 11.2 MB of 11.2MB. Except they all also say "stopped-err = -42023". And whenever I press "Resume Download" nothing really happens and I get a pop-up that says "There were some problems downloading some purchased items". It then suggests to check my internet connection--there is no problem with the internet connection. I did everything the iTunes help told me to do and nothing has worked. I even tried restarting my computer and buying the soundtrack again, but for the second time, the download stopped halfway through.
    help?

May be this article can be of some help:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3297
    "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023"
These alerts occur due to timeouts or conflicts trying to write a file during download.
If you encounter this issue while accessing iTunes Store:
See iTunes 9: "One Moment Please" or "Error (-50)" message when accessing iTunes Store
If you encounter this issue while while downloading something from the iTunes Store:
Delete your iTunes Downloads folder, located in:
    Mac OS X:
~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Downloads Note: "iTunes Media" may appear as "iTunes Music. Also, the tilde (~) refers to your Home directory.

    Windows Vista:
 \Users\username\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\

    Windows 7:
 \Users\username\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\

    Windows XP:
 \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
After locating your iTunes Downloads folder:
    Quit iTunes.
Delete the Downloads folder on your computer.
    Open iTunes.
Choose Store > Check for Available Downloads.
Enter your account name and password.
If you encounter this issue while while downloading Digital Copies using Windows:
Use MSCONFIG (directions for Windows XP and Windows Vista/Windows 7) to disable conflicting software.
If using MSCONFIG steps resolves the issue, you may want to use the System Configuration Utility to turn on the third-party System Services and Startup Items one at a time (restarting your computer after turning on the item or items) to identify which System Service or Startup Item is causing the conflict.
You can turn all of them back on by selecting the Normal Startup option under the General tab of the System Configuration Utility window, but please note that this may cause the issue to reoccur.
If you are able to isolate the issue to a particular third-party software, you may wish to contact them to let them know of the conflict.

  • Purchased song wont download onto phone?

I purchased a song a few days ago and it comes up "Unable to Download Song." over and over.
I have tried restarting my phone, exiting the app, everything.
I have bought songs after I bought that song and they downloaded perfectly, but that one song will not.
    Any help?

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not downloading properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • A few of my songs wont download and I have paid for them already

I recently bought an iTunes card and bought some new songs. Most of my songs downloaded properly, but three of them keep saying that they were unable to load. I have already paid for them though. Suggestions?

Download them as past purchases in iTunes, then sync them to your phone (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519).
