Error 42408 with iTunes 10.3 and can't Uninstall?

I can't buy music, play purchased downloads or authorise my computer. I have tried all of the methods posted here, such ejecting and reconnecting iPod, replacing the shortcut, rebooting my laptop, closing and reopening itunes, logging in and out again of my itunes account, removing SC info folder and the .plist files/version without extension and I am at my wits end with this.
The only thing I haven't tried is reinstalling because I can't uninstall iTunes and the change/repair options in add/remove hardware don't work either. I left it for hours trying to uninstall and it stuck on "preparing to remove."
I have Windows Vista 32 bit and am in the administrators account, if that is any help.

On the contrary, the stuff that is on it gives the history of the issues with which you are dealing, and makes it easy for responders to make suggestions. Be sure you provide information requested by responders, so that their suggestions will be pertinent. I will take a look at the thread again and see if I have any suggestions to offer.

Keep getting error 69 with iTunes 5.0, and it wont let me

keep getting error 69 with iTunes 5.0... Im pretty sure its the version's fault, but it wont let me install a previous version I have on CD either.
Even after uninstalling iTunes I get error
"1623: installation failed"
everytime I try to install the older iTunes off my CD.
Is there something extra I have to do completly get rid of 5.0 before I install an older version? like shot my computer?

Make sure you have the Latest Version of iTunes Installed on your computer ( v 11.1)

Issues with my USB HDD and can't uninstall the USB driver

Hi I have an external HDD USB 3.0 that when I plug in, windows detects it, but doesn't show in Computer
when I try to see it in device manager it shows as detected, but when I try to uninstall it the process just hangs there doing nothing
tried viewing the HDD with Disk Management, but that hangs and doesn't show a thing, just keeps saying contacting virtual disk service
I'm using Windows 7 ultimate service pack 1 64 bit with the latest updates
this started when I had to use a driver uninstaller for AMD and the HDD was connected, and I had to reinstall my USB driver while the HDD was connected through the whole process
my motherboard is a Z77X-D3H from Gigabyte if that helps

My guess is you corrupted the data on the HDD. Windows has no capability to compensate for this type of problem. This is not a "hardware compatibility" problem. You already know the HDD worked until your incident with the driver.
Why would you be using an uninstaller for AMD on an Intel based MB? That just does not sound right. There are no AMD drivers on the Gigabyte website for your MB.
I suggest you find a computer repair shop and have them look at your situation.

Cannot load Itunes or Quicktime and can't uninstall old version

I'm trying to load iTunes. The installation fails because, "The installation of QuickTime did not complete successfully. iTunes requires QuickTime."
Have tried unintallation the current version of QuickTime and installing the latest version of QuickTime 7. Nothing works.
What should I try next?

This topic has been discussed repeatedly, if you go up to the top right corner of this page to "more options" and do a search of the forum you will likely find your answer, it does take a little effort on your part though.

If you resintall iTunes, it should fix the issue. The following document will go over how to remove iTunes fully and then reinstall. Depending on what version of Windows you're running you'll either follow the directions here:

Sylonious, did you manage to sort this problem out? I have been experiencing similar problems. I think my problem was because I had many different versions of JDKs. I have done a complete re-install. I would be really grateful to you (and anyone else) for help with this problem.
I have re-installed JSDK1.4.2_03, set the "path" variable to "C:\JSDK1.4.2_03".
When I compile using "javac" I get an error saying "javac" is not recognised.
When I compile using "C:\j2sdk1.4.2_03\bin\javac Freq.java" no error is thrown.
Every time I try to run a java file, I always get the NoClassDefFound error. When run with the -verbose option, files are loaded from C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03\bin - is this correct?
I have removed all previous references to java in the registry editor.

Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.

Yes it would, possibly even brick it.
Have successfully connected my ipod nano with iTunes so looks like the device driver is working.
Can I use my ipod nano USB connector to check?
It is not much help to you, since the device that you need still not recognized.
Anyway looks like I may have to swallow the loss of data. Have set-up a call for tomorrow with Apple support so will wait until after this before doing the factory restore!
