Error 4251 in disk burning...

When I go to burn a disk, I have all my songs checked. I know they are all authorized for my computer and they are all checked, and that they will all fit on the computer. It works until it starts burning the first song then it cancels the disk and it says error 4251(this happens every time to every playlist), .. How do I fix this? Is it even fixable or is it my disk drive? Or is it the song files? I also have music from other music services that offer downloads. This really annoys me because I used to be able to burn music and now I have no way to back up my music or make a CD.

Error 2510/2355 - Disk burner or software not found

When I run as administrator, I get Error 2510. When I run as a regular user, I get Error 2355. Either way, and in safe mode or not, I get the "Disk burner or software not found" error when trying to burn CDs. iTunes was working wonderfully for ages and overnight (literally) it stopped writing CDs. There has been no new hardware or software in my system around the time it stopped working (unless my anti-virus missed something). Help please!

Un-install and re-install iTunes.

i have burned music before now all of a sudden this error message comes up about not being able to burn the disk with an unknown error the only thing i can think of is that the other day i made a back up of my library that i know is the only thing that changed

Error 4251 (Unknown) when burning a CD

I don't really know if this is the place to ask this, but whenever I try to burn a CD I get this 4251 error before the burning even starts...I've tried 2 different types of CDs, both just removed out of the package so I know they are blank. Can anyone please help me? Thanks.

I also got this 4450 error message when burning a CD in itunes. After searching the internet for answers, I found one that worked for me. The problem was that I tried to write 70 minutes of music to the CD. This is the rated capacity. However, the actual working capacity is closer to 65 minutes. The outer edge of the CD can be flakey and causes errors when writing there. After limiting my CD's to 65 minutes, the 4450 error disappeared.

when I try to burn a disk. How can I fix this? I tried usuing another application to burn my itunes purchased music onto a CD but it said it couldn't read the file. So how can I fix this problem on itunes? Or is there another free application that can read .m3u files.

Turned off my firewall and tried but still didnt work. Rang Apple Care and went through about 10 things. Didnt resolve.
I then tried different media and a CDRW worked.
I wasted 10 CD-Rs today
Not really sure if its a media problem as 2 CD-Rs out of the same batch worked yesterday.

ITunes Burn Error 4251-NEED HELP!

I am having problems completing a burn with my Itunes playlist that I have created with in my Itunes player; I have set my preferences, set a lower speed, etc. to try to correct this but still get the Error 4251 popup everytime I try to burn. The audio CD will eject after Itunes says CANCELLING BURN-THIS MAY TAKE A MINUTE OR TWO.
If there anyone on here who can help with this, please post a reply.

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

Error 4251 while burning to a disc

I keep getting an "Attempt to burn disc failed error 4251" message while trying to burn playlists to a disc. I've upgraded to the newest version of iTunes and tried using the lowest speed setting and the highest maximum to no avail. Any suggestions?

Not sure I can help very much, but I have had similar problems with large projects. I think (but I'm not sure) that iDVD does not do a very good job of estimating the size of the project until it starts to render/encode. So your project might be too big even for a dual-layer DVD. Can you reduce the size/length of the movie at all. And/or reduce the size of any iDVD slideshows you might also have in the iDVD project.
One small trick (I think this is true, but again I'm not 100% sure) is to reduce the size of the audio. If you use songs from iTunes, what format are they? I keep my songs in Apple Lossless which makes the files large. When I compress them to say AAC 128 or 160 in iTunes, and then use those smaller file versions in my iMovie project or slideshows, it reduces the size of the iDVD project.

Burn error 4251 and 4221

I have get errors 4251 or 4221 when trying to burn audio files from itunes. I have a Toshiba Satellite which uses MS Vista.
Does anyone happen to know how to fix this by any chance???

I don't know about 4221, but this is what I did for 4251 (though, I still don't know what the error actually means):
Go to "Edit" > "Preferences" > click the "Advanced" tab > and then the "Burning" tab.
Then lower the preferred speed (say, from 24x to 16x) and change the gap between songs from two seconds to none.
Since doing this I've only had the error come up a couple of times in which case I just lowered the speed once again.

Sorry I know this has been addressed in post ealier but i have recently down loaded Itunes music from the store and get error 4251 after around the third song burn't.
I am able to burn all music i have imported from CD but the purchesed album just will not burn.
I have the most recent driver and firmware software for my HP 8200e cd writer and just cannot get the full album to burn.
Any suggestions?

Have found loads of messages containing error 4251 but with no real resolution to problem.
All i want to do is burn the music i purchased to CD for use in the car.
Will not be purchasing from I-tunes again if cannot resolve problem.

Error 4251, 4261 - Unable to burn CD-A w/ CD-R from misc. vendors

Help wanted:
Burning a CD-A always fails with the same error message, in v6.0 a 4261 (rare) and 4251 (most), since v6.02 only 4251.
The burning process starts, stops after some 2 minutes with a weird message, rough translated: "This burning process will now be stopped, please be patient."
The ejected CD-R is unreadable.
We tried CD-R from most major vendors like FUJI, TDK, Maxell etc.
We checked the hardware configuration with iTunes, everything seems to be right.
The common burning software (NERO from Ahead) reports no problems, multiple CD-A burned with NERO work fine.
All software is up-to-date, firmware DELL and PIONEER DVR-110 too.
PIONEER sent support answer: Ask Apple.

Nothing changed in the iTunes burning engine between 6.0.1 and 6.0.2. What version of iTunes were you running where you didn't have a burn issue?

Error 4251 when burning a CD

I cannot find an answer to any of the previously posted topics about unknown error 4251 when attempting to burn a playlist to disc, and I've gone through 25 CD-Rs trying to fix it myself. I've reduced the write speed, maximised the write speed, and changed CD-R and CD-RW brands twice (Maxell and Fuji). Please, please help!

although there's nothing there by way of firmware for the Pioneer drive that is throwing the error, there are a few other downloads of note:
Software & Driver downloads: Compaq Presario V2414NR notebook PC (XP)
check to see if your HP Notebook System BIOS is up to date.
check to see if that AMD Processor Update for Microsoft Windows XP is relevant to your particular configuration of V2414NR. if so, check to see if you're up to date with that.
check to see if your up to date on that IDE Controller Enhancement.
check to see if your Graphics Driver for ATI Radeon Xpress 200M Chipset is up to date.
once you're satisfied you're up to date, do you still get the 4251?
(if no joy, we'll start checking on that virtual drive showing up in the diagnostics.)

Error 4450 - Can't Burn Library Backup to Disk in V8.0.1.11

Trying to burn a backup of my ITunes library to disk in V8.0.1.11 fails on my XP Pro (SP3) system with the resulting error message "Attempt to burn disk failed. Unknown error occurred (4450)" appearing right after the backup program gets to the point of trying to write the first file (after successfully checking the media and the items for backup and initializing the burn process). Never had this problem with V7x.
Anyone else having this problem or have a solution?

I've had iTunes for years but just bought and downloaded an album, when I tried to burn I got error 4251. I tried burning three times but got the same error, any idea how to fix this?

I've seen multiple threads on this same error message. Since I'm very new to iTunes, I thought it was me or my PC, so I guess I'm relieved in a way to learn that this problem is being experienced even by long-time iTunes users.
To me, this says that something in a recent release of iTunes is the culprit. What I don't know is if Apple will consider a problem that Windows users are having to be serious enough to investigate and fix.
I actually thought I had a work-around. I went to edit/preferences/advanced/burning and changed to speed from the highest speed to 16X, and I managed to get 10 songs on a disc before it went 4251. I took the speed down to 6X, and got 12 songs. I went to 2X, and it went 4251 after 5 songs.
So much for that work-around.
