ERROR 4261 AFTER INSTALL OF LATEST I TUNES PLZ HELP!

hello all,
i'm at the end of my rope in trying to figure this one out, i've read the other postings in reg to this issue but still no luck....basically my itunes has stopped working after the most recent itunes update, i have tried uninstalling and installing itunes (with virus protector off as well), changed burn speeds, and have checked for any avail updates for both software and hardware, still no luck my cd diagnostics are as follows:

Get drive speed succeeded.
The drive CDR speeds are: 16 24 40 48.
The drive CDRW speeds are: 16.
The drive DVDR speeds are: 16.
The drive DVDRW speeds are: 16.
The last failed MP3 CD burn had error code -128(0xffffff80). It happened on drive F: HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GWA4164B on CDR media at speed 0X.
any help would be much appreciated, (i contacted apple but they stated they would not assist me unless i purchased a service pack)

I updated to version 7 but the issue was still occurring (though i was able to eek out a couple good burns); so i uninstalled and installed again (with security software down) and am still receiving error 4261 here's the latest diagnostic:
