I no longer can burn cds. Error 4450. I've tried slower and faster speeds. Worked before all these itunes updates.

So frustrating. Should I just buy music elsewhere?

  • Error 4450 when trying to burn a cd

Please help me to fix this issue. I have the latest version of iTunes, and my burner is working correctly, and I am using blank discs.
I purchased $20 of music and made a playlist to burn, it checks, initializes and begins burn, then alerts me that it is being cancelled and gives me this error "the attempt to burn a disc failed, unknown error 4450"
I have the preference set to audio cd, checked my burner and discs, it all works. I tried restarting computer. Logging off and back on to iTunes, updated iTunes, repaired iTunes, removed iTunes, installed older version 7.1 but then it couldn't read my library, so reinstalled 7.6 and still not able to burn
    Please help?!

OK, I feel like an idiot.
I tried all the suggestions, from lowering burn speed, running diagnostics, etc etc.
After contacting Apple and complaining about the service and inability to burn a CD of music I purchased, I finally opened my drive, and looked at the lens, it had a thin residue all over the entire lens and disc holding area, I simply wiped it off gently with a soft cloth, and voila!
    I can burn now!

  • CD burn problem "unknown error 4450"

Hello everyone, I've been surching quite everywhere about the "unknown error 4450" but nothing found. Does someone know how to resulf this problem??? Please help, because I'd like to burn my downloaded songs.. Thanks!!

    Hi Everyone,
I've had the problem since I've upgraded to Vista, I thought it was a driver problem until I had no problem burning a CD using Media Player. However I managed to find a solution (although not ideal).
If you run a CD diagnotic in iTunes, you'll find it thinks you are not an administrator for some reason. So I created a new administrator account, and then saved my iTunes library and logged in as the new administrator account. All of a sudden the problem disappeared!!!
So it looks like iTunes can't see that I'm an administrator. If someone can tell me how to fix this particular element, I'd love it. As right now, if I want to burn a CD, I have to change account, and re-import the entire library. Bottom line is it's a pain, but at least I know it's not a driver or hardware problem.
    Hope this helps everyone.

  • Error 4450 when burning

Help! I am using an HP Pavillion ze5300 and I just started to get an error 4450 when attempting to burn CD's after reinstalling my OS. I can't find any updates that I missed!
    Heres my diagnostic:
Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (Build 2600)
    Hewlett-Packard Pavilion ze5300 (DC965A)
    iTunes 7.0.2.16
    CD Driver 2.0.6.1
    CD Driver DLL 2.0.6.1
    UpperFilters: GEARAspiWDM (2.0.6.1),
Video Driver: RADEON IGP 345M\RADEON IGP 345M
IDE\DiskHITACHIDK23EA-60______________________00K2A0A2, Bus Type ATA, Bus Address [0,0]
IDE\CdRomHL-DT-STRW/DVD_GCC-4240N_______________0111___, Bus Type ATA, Bus Address [0,0]
If you have multiple drives on the same IDE or SCSI bus, these drives may interfere with each other.
Some computers need an update to the ATA or IDE bus driver, or Intel chipset. If iTunes has problems recognizing CDs or hanging or crashing while importing or burning CDs, check the support site for the manufacturer of your computer or motherboard.
    Current user is an administrator.
    D: HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4240N, Rev 0111
    Drive is empty.
The last failed audio CD burn had error code 4450(0x00001162). It happened on drive D: HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4240N on CDR media at speed 16X.

hmmm. a search at HP on ze5300 turns up a lot of different models:
    Pavilion ze5300
... so i'm thinking ze5300 may be your series number rather than your model number.
what is the model number on your wee lass? the following HP document may be of some help with determining that:

  • What does error 4450 mean when burning a cd?

When burning a cd I get a message  (burn cancelled unknown reason  error 4450.  What does that mean

I also got this 4450 error message when burning a CD in itunes. After searching the internet for answers, I found one that worked for me. The problem was that I tried to write 70 minutes of music to the CD. This is the rated capacity. However, the actual working capacity is closer to 65 minutes. The outer edge of the CD can be flakey and causes errors when writing there. After limiting my CD's to 65 minutes, the 4450 error disappeared.
    Hope that helps.

  • Attempt to burn cd = unknown error 4450

Using fairly new laptop and have been previously able to burn cds from iTunes, but now it cancels writing of first song and tells me "unknown error 4450".
Is this an iTunes error, or my computer? I did the diagnostic test and it showed no problems, and I can import songs from written cds. What can I do?
    Thanks in advance for help/suggestions.

  • ERRORS 4450 & 4250

I was able to burn CD's & DVD's with no problem, until recently. About 95% of the time I receive either error #'s 4450 or 4250. What do they mean and why do I keep receiving them?? I have searched the forum and did what other's have advised: slow down the speed, make sure the ATA... (which I have 3 primary's, secondaries, channels, and a seperate controller for), and nothing seems to work. Sometimes, iTunes gets a wild hair and allows me to burn a disc, but I have noticed, it was an old blank disc from about 6-7 years ago (no name). I am currently using Sony CD-R 700MB recordable. Does this make any difference?? I have also had my drives checked (CD & DVD); nothing is wrong. Someone....please HELP!!!!!! I would like to listen to something new in my car.
    Thanks...

I downloaded itunes 7.1.0.59, purchased an album on itunes but now can't burn the album to cd. I get the unknown error 4450.
I see that others are complaining about the same problem but I do not see that anyone has posted any solutions.
Please let me know if a solution has been discovered.
    Thanks
