Error -48 when trying to restore my iphone

I tried to update my iphone to software version 1.02 and was told my phone needed to be restored. I am tryint to update on my g4 sawtooth desktop which I normally dont sync my iphone on as my macbook is out for repairs at the moment. The g4 synced my information ok but when I tried to update I was told I would need restore my phone. After iTunes downloaded the restore image I get [+There was a problem downloading the iPhone software for the iPhone "iPhone". An unkown error occurred (-48). Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later.+] Obviously I am on the internet and my internet connection is fine. My desktop is connected to the airport base station with cat5 so I know its not a wireless connectivity problem. Anybody know of a way to resolve this?

I took my iPhone to an apple store and had it restored. Now I get +iTunes could not connect to the iPhone "iPhone" because an unknown error occurred (0xE8000025).+ I can no longer get my iphone to sync with my computer for the life of me. I've restarted the phone, deleted the itunes preference lists, uninstalled and reinstalled itunes and still get the same error. So what has been an almost perfectly beautiful experience up until now has turned into frustrating beyond description.

I'm trying to restore my iPhone 5 because it's been having a lot of problems. I had it connected to my Mac, and it says it's not apart of the iPhone developer program. I have no idea what that it. Please help me, how do I bypass it.

If this is your phone, it appears that you had either loaded the iOS 7 beta on it and it is now expired or you are not trying to restore the phone correctly. Did you attempt to update using something other than the standard procedure in iTunes? You cannot install a custom iOS file.

I get error 23 when trying to restore my iphone 4

I tried to update my iPhone 4 to the latest software and it got stuck on the store screen...whenever i plug it into itunes it will go through the process up till it says verifying with apple. Error 1015 when trying to restore old iPhone on Mac iTunes

Recently my mom's iPhone was freezing up. She says she tried to restore it by following some sleazy directions on the internet using her PC. The phone keeps acting up, so we connect it to my MacBook Pro, which we've never connected it to before. We run an update and click restore.
We get a dialog box that says 'Error 1015' and now her phone permanently has a picture of a USB cord with an arrow pointing up towards the iTunes logo.
I have been at this for two hours. I have been on every forum, downloaded every program, hit every wall from expired download links to programs that only work for PC.
I am running Mac OS X 10.7.4
I don't even know what generation this iPhone is. It seems ancient. I would go so far as to say this is probably one of the first iPhones released.
If anyone could help me out whatsoever it would be extremely appreciated. Thank you.

It sounds like your mom ended up jailbreaking her phone. That's what an error 1015 means.
There is no help to be had here. Sorry.
Discussing jailbroken phones is forbidden by the terms of service.
You'll need to look elsewhere for assistance or buy a new phone.

I am updating the operating system on my iphone 3GS, as prompted by itunes.
I have a screen on the mac saying 'iphone recovery mode'

TS3694 I am experiencing error 29 when trying to restore my iPhone 3GS

I installed the latest security update on iphone 3gs, after that when connecting to iTunes it prompted for a software update.
When installing the software update it prompts for a complete system restore to factory settings.
Almost towards the end of the restore, iTunes promts an error 29 error and says that the iPhone cannot restore any further

Unknown error 1603 when trying to restore my iphone 3g in itunes - help!!!

hello everyone - any help on the following issue would be greatly appreciated!
just updated to latest version of i tunes on my PC, synced all my new music etc, then phone just got stuck on the black screen with the small apple logo in the middle. phone (iphone 3G) won't turn on and just has the signal to connect to itunes. so i connect to itunes and it says iphone is in recovery mode - must restore phone to use, so i do that but it keeps getting stuck on the 'preparing to restore i phone' screen for a few mins before coming up with 'unknown error 1603'.
anyone else had this problem?
anyone know if i can log into i tunes on a different computer and try to restore it?
if problem persists do i go to o2 shop where i bought it, or apple shop to sort it?? (stupid question probably) but i am clueless about this sort of thing! (i am insured)
