Error 4SNS/1/40000001:ID2S-0.000

I have an issue with cpu fan running out of control.
I ran Apple Hardware Test and it gave me that errot number.
Does anyone know anything about it ?
Where can I find meaning and action plan ?
Thanks

Most likely a failed device temperature sensor. As noted, contact Apple Service, iMac Service or Apple's Express Lane and get it fixed.

It looks like you ran Apple Hardware Test without plugging the MacBook to the charger. It's normal to see an error if you run Apple Hardware Test without your Mac plugged.
Plug the MacBook Pro to its charger and run Apple Hardware Test again

This error is showing a problem with the logic board controller sensor. The only thing you can do is to take your computer to an Apple Store or reseller to have the computer repaired. Read > http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-57352461-263/how-to-invoke-and-interpret-th e-apple-hardware-tests/

  • Noisy fans, AHT error 4SNS/1/40000001:tgod-1.000

Hello, i run an AHT cause my old imac 24' fans came suddenly noisy. (snow leopard)
(I previously tried reset PRAM..., shut down/wait/unplug..., check apps proc%) ...
AHT returns this error : 4SNS/1/40000001:tgod-1.000 What does that mean? What should i do ?
    Thanks for your help !

Means you have a defective sensor. I think it may be for the optical drive. That's what makes the fans run at top speed. Please make a Genius Appointment and take it in for service.

  • Bluetooth failure - hardware error 4SNS/1/40000001:TB1T-0.000

I was installing updates in my computer and suddenly the bluetooh icon started to fail, I noticed that a red led was on (in the mic input), but after restarting it was off, I tried the hardware test and I got the error 4SNS/1/40000001:TB1T-0.000, so I also tried:
    - Reseting PRAM & NVRAM
    - Reseting SMC
    - Deleting the com file of the bluetooth in the Library folder
But the hardware error is the same, I also noticed that when I test the stereo sound the left speaker volume is very low.
My computer is still with guaranty so I'll request the replace of the bluetooth chip and speakers.
Don't waste your time if you did the hardware test and you receive this error message, none of the soft advices you'll find in this forum will work, just replace.
What I'd like to know if it is better to send the computer or the replace the chip by myself, I saw some youtube videos and it looks very easy, and honestly I don't like how the technical service treats the computers.
Thanks in advance for the advice,

Dear all, after some reboots, and honestly I don´t know which of the previous soft advices was, but my bluetooth is now working.
Just as a extra comment, the mighty mouse bluetooth is the best i ever had, works for Windows Vista better than in OS X. This genius idea of having the right and left button options in one button is very awesome.

  • Apple Hardware Test error 4SNS/1/40000001:ID0R-0.000 on Retina MBP

Getting the above error on my 3-day old retina MBP with 16gb RAM and 768GB flash storage.  I had loaded Chrome, Firefox, VMWare Fusion, Office 2011, and all the Apple updates as of 7/3/12.
My issue may be related to similar issues I've seen on these boards, relating to sleep or wakeup causing the intermittent crash.  Machine has also crashed (kernel panic) 2 times.  Genius Bar employee downplayed the AHT altogether, saying it's a false positive since his more advanced tool reported no errors.  They then kept it for a day, to run a "loop test," which also came back with no errors.  Then, because apparently it is easier to re-load the OS rather than actually diagnose the issue, they re-loaded my OS clean. (Yay, now I can re-load all my apps, copy 200GB data back on, and THEN we'll see that it is a hardware problem.)
Tomorrow I'll pick it up from Apple and run the AHT again.  If it errors out again, I'm not sure what to do...

One note I had neglected to mention is that the bar/band immediately above the keyboard gets very, very hot.  Yes, I know that is where the fans are.  However, all 12 of the MBP's at the Apple store did not have this extra-hot band, and those are on all day.  My little Safari & Mail apps should not cause an overheat situation, on a functioning machine.  Apple blamed Google Chrome for the crashes, downplayed the overheating, and downplayed the AHT results.
Update: I went to the Apple store today and took a look at the notebook.  They ran their tests, had re-loaded the OS, and performed an undisclosed hardware repair. (They were helpful but vague as to what the actually did on the machine, hardware-wise.)  They said their advanced tools & extended Loop Test did not indicate any errors or problems.  While still at the store, I ran another quick test with the Apple Hardware Test, which came back with the same 4SNS error as mentioned above.  I asked for a refund, which they approved (except they said I have to come back Monday since I bought the machine from Apple Business.)
When I got home, I ran an extended test with the Apple Hardware Test and got a *diffferent* error this time: 4HDD/11/40000000:SATA(0,0).
It's seems strange to me that the AHT shows 2 different errors, and yet the Genius' "advanced " tools find no errors.  Thankfully, I will return this one (eventually) get a new unit.  Thanks to everyone for helping.  --Peter

  • MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010) 4SNS/1/40000001:TN1D--1.000

My MBP recently started freezing (to the point where the mouse  wouldn't even move), so I ran Apple Hardware Test and it gave me the error: 4SNS/1/40000001:TN1D--1.000
Various websites in the Mac community say this error inducates a bad temperature sensor on the logic board. However, I have replaced these on several 15" MacBook Pro's, but to my knowledge this simply isn't possible as there are no removable temperature sensors on the 13" MacBook Pro!
I guess my only option is soldering a new one on- luckily, I have a surplus of bad logic board lying around. Does anyone know the name and location of said temperature sensor?

A lot cheaper option that would impress you greatly would be the 8gig of RAM and a 1TB HD upgrade.
    Total cost on that upgrade would be around $140 for both the 8gig and 1TB, ..... a Toshiba/Hitachi 1TB 5400RPM 2.5"
as for the SSD, a Samsung 830 256GB,
    Crucial m4 256 GB

  • Hello. Apple hardware test has detected an error. 4SNS/1/40000001:TN1D--1.000

Hello. Apple hardware test has detected an error. 4SNS/1/40000001:TN1D--1.000  Anyone knows what that means ? OS doesn't boot. Maybe it's hard disk error ?

It means your screwed if you're out of warranty.
That error translates to your northbridge temperature sensor is bad- BUT IN MAC "GENIUS" LAND, that means you either need a whole new logic board (a $700 part) or buy a new MacBook. On the non-unibody MacBook pros, you could have came to my store and spend $75 and had a working computer the same day- this is no longer possible on the unibody MacBooks.
    WHY, WHY, WHY?
In a bold design move, Apple decided to SOLDER the thermal sensors to the logic board (along with many other components such as the video, graphics and IO), thus rendering these parts NON-SERVICEABLE by us independant technicians. Apple's reasoning is that they can "make their notebooks thinner", but why sacrifice performace for asthetics? Who cares, buy a new MacBook.
    WHO NEEDS TEMPERATURE SENSORS?
It doesn't matter if your laptop is running hot or not, when a temperature sensor goes bad on a Mac, it shuts your computer down to prevent further damage. Apple was the first company to implement this "failsafe", now PC motherboard vendors are following suit after watching Apple's stock soar. What this means: Is that you could actually have a perfectly functioning MacBook except for one thing; the little guy who's sole purpose is to report whether it's not the computer is running hot or not has decided to not show up for work, so they closed up shop. If you ask me, it's the equivalent of a restaraunt closing on account of not having a dishwasher- but that's just the opinion of an ex-certified ACMT and what do I know- I'm not a "genius" or anything.

  • What does error code 4sns/1/40000001: IDOR-0.000 mean?

I have a MacBook Pro modWhat does error code 4sns/1/40000001: IDOR-0.000 mean? My video display is partially striated and I ran the self test a few minutes ago.el 10,1 with an NVIDIA Ge ForceGT 650M graphics card with 1GB of VRAM.  When I turned on my laptop this morning the right 1/3 of the screen was black with red and multicolored lines, I had to reduce my window view to see the document I was looking at.  I rebooted several times and ran the hardware test recommended.  The results indicated an error, the code: 4sns/1/40000001: IDOR-0.000.  Can anyone decipher the code and tell me what is wrong?
    thanks

That error code indicates a DC current anomaly.  A visit to an Apple store genius bar is your best option.  They should be able to specifically isolate the problem and and advise you of your options.
    Ciao.

my macbook also don t reconize any external usb speakers.
internal audio doesen t work as well!!!
someone could help me, thanks a lot

Well, for the last 2 hours, I have been using my MacBook Pro with the battery removed and have had open all the apps that would normally be open; Safari, iTunes, Mail and a couple of others. The fans have stopped blowing at full tilt as they were before, and when I open up a more CPU hungry app like Boxee, the fans go up to over 6000 rpm, but then go back to quiet levels (around 5000 rpm) when it is shut down, whereas before they would either hit 6000 for no apparent reason, or hit 6000 when a CPU hungry app would open, but then never spin back down again.
I think removing the battery has helped but I will take the machine in to an Apple tech tomorrow.

  • Failure code:4SNS/1/40000001: TB1T-0.000

This is my first Mac, Its just perfect, i have no problems with it, but when i randomly run the Apple hardware test, it come up with this: Failure code: 4SNS/1/40000001: TB1T-0.000
can somebody help me with that?
    Thanks

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
The "SNS" stands for "sensor", and the error code indicates a possible problem with a thermal sensor. Did you run the extended version of the Apple Hardware Test? Sometimes you will get this error if you run the quick version, and it may be something of a false positive. See if you also get it when you run the extended version.
Are your fans idling normally or running all out? If the latter, I would be more inclined to believe a problem with the sensor.
    Good luck!

  • I am getting error 4SNS/1/40000000: TG0H-128.000 ? what does this mean.

    HI there,
I ran apple hardware test through snow leopard OS disk 2,  i got this error 4SNS/1/40000000: TG0H-128.000 , My fans are continously running at 5700 rpm even i am doing nothing. I have booked an appointment with genius bar on monday 6 may. are they expensive to repair or should i find a local apple technician ? is there any other method to fix it.

Your computer has to start from the Windows disc but it's not doing this. After creating the volume, make sure that the Windows disc is inserted, and turn on your Mac holding the Option (Alt) key, so you will see all bootable partitions. Choose the "Windows" option with a DVD, so the Windows installer will start and you must follow its steps.

  • Hardware error 4SNS/1/40000001 TB0T-9.597 MBP early 2013

My 15" retina Macbook Pro OSX 10.8.5 suddenly went black - seems as if it is shutting down the screen, including an external monitor connected via mini-display port.  This happened suddenly with no particular reason and repeated in different configurations, on mains and on battery.   I was afraid the graphics hardware had completely quit but it seemed temperature related.  After a few minutes it would start for 2 or 3 minutes then sleep.   Without the fan going on and not particularly hot, it seems to be going into sleep.  Even cool, I had to put it in the freezer to get it to complete a basic hardware test.
Can anyone help me understand what error 4SNS/1/40000001:TB0T-9.597 means?
I suspect it is a temperature sensor?  Is this repairable?  The machine is 14 months old and apple wants over $50 just to talk to me on the phone.  I have tried setting "sleep" to never in the Energy Saver settings, resetting the PRAM etc. It will start in safe mode.  Hopefully I can keep it cool enough to get it through a detailed hardware test and get more information...
I have 4 different MacBooks and I've never seen this.  Any help would be much appreciated.

It is a sensor error. It is repairable: make a Genius Appointment and take it in for service. Do this ASAP to prevent damage to the computer.

    Help me please,

I really don't know.  Could be as simple as a cable.  iMac's hard drives do have a sensor cable attached to the drive from the logic board.  But there's really no way of telling.  I assume apple gives estimates for repairs.
