Error -50? Unable to download an album

Hi all. I just bough Sonic Firestorm from iTunes (the first one, not the second one, for some reason there are two identical albums in the store), and when it began to download, I got this message:
There was a problem downloading "Fury of the Storm / Sonic Firestorm / Dragonforce". An unknown error occurred (-50)
Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again.
The only thing is that my internet was working fine, then I reset it just to be sure, and got the same message for every song.
If for some reason there isn't anything I can do to download the songs, is there any way to contact iTunes to get a refund?
This problem is on my iBook g4, any and all help is appreciated, and thanks to all that reply!

Got exactly the same problem - of course no support information on that topic available - and the call center people at apple just wanted 50 bucks. Super!!!
I still liked the Webcast.

I Keep getting Error message "unable to download item try again later" on my iPad. I don't know of any item I don't have downloaded. I have the latest iOS 8 installed. On my iTunes purchsed list I have one song with a red square with a white E that I don't know what it means.

I Have the same error message. It all started after I downloaded the U2 album free from iTunes. Seems like I got more than I bargained for! I have done all the ios8 updates, including 8.1, but still getting the message. It makes everything run so slow while my iPad 2 tries in vain to download. My iPod 4th Generation does not let me download iOS 6.1.1...
The reason I want 6.1.1 is because I want to download kik and a load of other apps but I need 6.1.1.
The message is "Error. Unable to download iOS 6.1.1" or something, and I have no idea what it means or how to fix it because I know barely anything about the apple software things.
I've read a few things about it and discovered that this issue is common, but I can't get the answer I need, and the other posts about this issue were made like two years ago. I've got enough space, definitely, and last night it was downloading it so I put it on the charger and went to sleep, when I woke up it said "Cannot download. Internet connection is required." something like that. I had no issues last night, but now it's saying it cannot download.
Can someone please help?
I've not updated my ipod for a year or so now, but I'm still not sure why it's not working.

You have to have an internet connection, either wireless or through a computer with iTunes. When you choose Software Update you can only update to the latest version for your iPod Touch, iOS 6.1.6

Once I established a better WIFI connection, I solved this problem. I originally suspected it was an IOS-ITunes capability problem. Despite downloading the audiobook, I wasn't able to access it unless I plugged iPhone into Mac.

Made some purchases on the App Store, all downloaded successfully, but I'm unable to download SnapHeal from MacPhun; I got the message, "There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later."
I tried downloading several times, went to Community Support, closest thread was headed, iTunes Store: "An unknown error occurred (-9808)" My error message did not include a reference number, but I followed instructions about setting the correct date & time and adjusting certificate settings, then restarting. I also repaired disc permissions, zapped the PRAM and restarted my iMac.
I'm still unable to download the purchase.

There seems to be rather more of this type of issue being reported currently, than there normally is, there may well be a problem with the servers. I would be inclined to wait a while, then try again later.

While downloading add-ons error message - unable to download . want ad blocker urgently

This happened will all addons i tried within 2-3 seconds of clicking on install

Check to see if installations are allowed in Firefox

If due to some reason, you are unable to deauthorize ADE, follow the below steps:
Mac: Navigate to /Users//Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions and drag the activation.dat file to the trash.
ADE will be deauthorized now.
Now Authorize ADE again.
Windows:
Choose Start > Run.
In the Open text box, type regedit and then press Enter. The Registry Editor opens.
In the left pane of the Registry Editor, locate the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adept
Right-click the Adept key and choose Delete.
In the Confirm Key Delete dialog, click OK.
Your authorization will be deleted.
ADE will be deauthorized now.
Now Authorize ADE again.

Error 3259 unable to download and install 3.0

At least 7 times this weekend on 2 different laptops both with XP, 3.0 loads completely, but then get an error box saying my connection timed out or there is connection problem. Bull! Everything's connected. 3G downloading AFAP. Have ESET antivirus which NEVER interferes with downloads. Computer set to do most automatically. What's up? Why can't I download 3.0??

What security software is running on the PC? How did you disable it?
If disabling the firewall resolved the download issue, which is what is suggested here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2799 the firewall/security software could be causing this issue also.
You can generally resolve security software conflicts by updating all software, reconfiguring, uninstalling, or putting the PC into a selective startup as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1275

ITunes Update Error Message - Unable to Download

Tonight I've tried to update my iTunes to the latest version, and I receive an error message saying that "I don't have an authorized signature." I called Apple Support and for $150 I could pay to have them tell me how to fix it. I'm a young teacher paying back student loans so I don't just have $150 sitting around to spend on getting this resolved. I have not been able to sync my iPad or my iPhone for months because of not having this new update. During the last software update on my iPhone, I lost 700 some songs from my music. Can anyone help me? If I get this update working, will I get all my music back I lost?

I suspect you have a corrupted download of the installer. Clear your browser's cache and try again.
See the Further Information area of Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for download advice and direct links if required. Review the rest of the tip if you have problems with the install.

TS1424 I get error code -100000 when downloading an album.

All songs but 1 downloaded. Cannot find this code listed anywhere. This is the 3rd album I've downloaded today, spanned over several hours.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one.
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entry, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
