Error -50 when downloading a movie

Hi Everyone,
Everytime i try to download a movie it goes to 8 mins remaining and then posts an error -50 dialog box. Any ideas?

    Yeah this "fix" is bunk. The movie is downloading just fine, but the extra features is the one giving me this error code. It is NOT my firewall. If it was, then both files wouldn't download. Plus, I already have the firewall "issue" tacked down and fixed. Have had it fixed for months now. No, this is due to the "new" itunes version 11 software. The only conclusion to fix this issue is UPgrading from 11 back to 10.7 which is what I am going to do. This is completely ridiculous! Come on, Apple, get itunes working once and for all, and fire the people responsible for itunes 11, just like you did to the guy who was responsible for apple maps. Thankfully Google came back to the rescue with google maps app.

    Error -50 when trying to download movie rental. i  followed the steps to delete the cache file three times.  It still keeps sending error -50.  I checked the network connections, also checked my firewall.  All appears normal.  I was able to rent two movies a couple days ago with no issies.
    Now what should I do? I have spent WAY TOO much time trouble shooting this, and I have been charged for a movie that won't download. frustrating

  • Error 9006 when downloading rented movie

    The subject basically says it all. I have been downloading movies from itunes for years but the last one I tried has been unsuccessful. The download is slower than normal and after 20-30 MB of the movie downloads, it stops, loses all progress and gives me an error 9006 and says to restart the download. I have messed with all my firewalls and configurations to allow for improved results but so far nothing has worked. Any advice or help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

    I was having the same error 9006 trying to download a rented movie on iTunes. I read on another board it might have something to do with Internet Explorer 8 and iTunes using the same downloader. My Explorer 8 had recently quit working but I didn't care because I use Firefox. However, I then started getting the 9006 error on iTunes. On Windows 7 you have to go to the control panel. Click on "uninstall a program", in the uninstall window go to the left column and click on "Turn Window features on or off", this will open another window with the Windows features check marked. Uncheck Internet Explorer, then restart your computer. After it restarts, go back to the uninstall programs feature again and click "Turn Window features on or off", put a check mark next to Internet Explorer and restart the computer again. This fixed the problem with Internet Explorer and iTunes started the download without any errors popping up.

  • Error (-50) when downloading from ATV and Trailers don't work - Invalid Fmt

    My Apple TV syncs with an HP running Vista over an 802.11g network. I have a Watchguard Edge firewall. I can download updates and view YouTube without a problem. I have no problem downloading or renting movies on my PC.
    The Apple TV will not download rentals. It fails in a very short time with Error (-50). It will not show any trailers displaying an invalid format error. Any idea what the problem may be?
