See the link below, for the download and simple installation instructions.
First locate your carrier and the OS file you wish to use.
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
Do a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > Backup. Close Desktop Manager upon completion.
1. Download the OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

  • Error 205 Reload Software

Hi everyone, I have a Blackberry Curve 9360 phone. It fell from my hand 2 days ago, it restarted immediately but after booting showed a white screen "Error 205 Reload Software". Since then I have tried everything but its still not working. I have used the 'AppLoader', but it freezes at some point. Its not even connecting to the desktop device software. I have never backed up my data and I don't want to lose any file . Pls, i need your help urgently. Thanks

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Here is a KB that discusses that error:
KB17024"Application Error 205" appears on the BlackBerry smartphone
While it is for a prior model BB, hopefully it still contains something useful! There also are multiple existing threads on this site that discuss that exact error...your review of those might prove useful, and a search of this site, using the error message, error code, or symptom, should reveal all applicable existing threads to you.

You took a big risk there...backups are, as with all computing devices, not a reactive nor an optional activity. With this error, it is highly likely that the data on your BB is already gone. If the above KB does not provide you with a recovery, then you may want to try these also:
KB27956 How to recover a BlackBerry smartphone from any state
Of course, if the problem is hardware, then there is nothing to be done here...
Good luck and let us know!

  • "Error 102 - Reload Software"

The words  entered into the subject line above "Error 102 - Reload Software" pops up before my device can finish rebooting all of a sudden. A battery pull did not fix this issue, neither did plugging in the phone and running the desktop software to try and reload the software. It won't let me reload the software, and I am at a loss of what to do to get my phone working again. This is becoming extremely frustrating on my part and any advice on what to do in this situation would be much appreciated. I have tried updating or finding software updates, when I tried to reload with the newer version I was provided with another "error" message with relation to its ability to load on the device. Can anybody tell me what to do? It was working perfectly fine, and all of a sudden, this happens.

    Hey marysumann,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
To resolve this issue you will need to use the force detection method to reload the software.  Follow the steps in this KB article: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB10144
Let me know if you have any more questions.

How do I fix the Curve 8900 with the following error message:

  • Error Message : Reload Software 513

I know various people are going to direct me to previous threads and topics about this, but i can assure you that ive checked and scoured the internet to no avail.
To cut a long story short, I plugged my Curve into the computer, it asked me for a device password, i didnt know what it was, i tried various things, and due to my stupidty i entered the wrong password 10 times and didnt take none of the warnings seriously. My phone then wiped itself and left me wit the message Reload Software 513
After searching for a solution for this, i didn't really have much luck. Mainly because the desktop manager i was using (v4.7) was different to the one other people had used and even different to the one a KPB was showing me on the solution centre bit.
I got off the  phone to an 02 helpline who then tried to instruct me the same way this website had tried too. They think the problem is because i do not have the latest Desktop Manager V5 or something.
If anyone can talk me through what to do, or has any help, it would be greatly greatly appreciated

No, sorry, I don't know why I assumed you had an 8320 Curve.
I have edited my post above to the 8900 link and software.
Forget about the 8320... my mistake (though it would not have loaded to your 8900, so no worries there).
Download the OS. Find the downloaded *.exe file and double click on it to install it to you PC.
Follow the directions in the link... step by step.

  • Error Msg - reload software 552

Hi everyone, Can someone help me pls
I downloaded the Blackberry Protect, it asked me to reboot. I did and it came back with RELOAD SOFTWARE 552.
Its not coming on apart from that message.
I have tried taking out and putting back both the battery and sim card, nothing is working.
    Please what can i do

    Hi
This what I did to completely wipe my BB. I wrote this before starting and printed it off.
If your device is functioning, perform a backup now if you haven't already done so saving the file to a place and in a name that you can easily locate on computer.
I then uninstalled DTM and then deleted all other references to BB/Rim in Windows Explorer thus removing the OS for the BB from the computer in order to ensure that the version I would reinstall would be a brand new downloaded version.
Get the latest Desk Top Software
    http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/?CPID=OTC-DSKTPSW&cp=OTC-DSKTPSW
and install it on the computer.
Get the correct latest version of the OS
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    and save it to computer.
To erase all the data on your BlackBerry device, complete the following steps. This option is available with
BlackBerry Device Software 3.8 and later.
    1. In the device Options, click Security.
If you are using BlackBerry Device Software 4.1, click Security Options > General Security.
    2. Click the trackwheel and select Wipe Handheld.
    3. Click Continue.
    4. Type “blackberry”. All the data on the BlackBerry device is erased.
On some new versions of BlackBerry software, the menu navigation is slightly different.
    1. Go to Options.
    2. Select Security Options.
    3. Select General Settings.
    4. Click the Menu key.
    5. Select Wipe Handheld.
    6. Click Continue.
    7. Type “blackberry”. All the data on the BlackBerry device is erased.
Launch the new Desk Top Software on the computer
    1. Connect your device to your computer.
    2. On the home screen of the BlackBerry® Desktop Software, click Update my device.
    3. Do one of the following:
    * To download an update, click Get update.
    * To view other available versions of the BlackBerry Device Software, click View other versions. If applicable, click another version. Click Install.
Ensure the new OS is the one you prevously downloaded.
Do not disconnect the device until the whole process is completed and the device has rebooted.
After 10 minutes reboot again by removing the battery whilst powered-on and leave it out for a couple of minutes.
Leave it again for 10 minutes. You should now have a fully functioning BB!

  • Errors in reloading software & drivers

I have an HP Photosmart D110a printer.  I currently am using the Windows 7 operating system.  I have had this printer for 2-3 years.  Initially, I set the printer up to use a wireless connection; that way everyone in the house could use the same printer.  I use Time Warner Cable for my internet service.  Recently TWC upgraded us with a new modem/router.  It is an awful piece of equipment, and we had constant trouble connecting to the printer via wifi (even though the router was right next to the printer).  We even had one of their techs come over for a service call.  Issue was never resolved.
After weeks of frustration, I finally decided to get a USB cable for the printer, so at least one of us could print.  When I first attached the USB cable, the system seemed to recognize it automatically, and I was able to print right away.
Now, here is where it gets a bit confusing.
Yesterday, I attempted to scan a document, but HP Solutions was telling me that the printer was not connected.  I assumed (big mistake) that it was trying to do a wifi connection.  I thought maybe I should reload the drivers.  So, I got out my trusty disc.  In order to reload, I would first have to uninstall, then reinstall.  I have done this before with no problems.  Everything seemed to be going okay at first, but then I got an error message that the HP Photosmart D110 All-In-One Driver Software 14.0 Rel 7 did not load; at which point it automatically uninstalled whatever had been installed at that point.  The disc is a few years old, so I figured I would go to hp.com and download the drivers from there, which I did.  Then I attempted to install them, everything looked okay, then I got the exact same error as before.  The process to uninstall is not really a complete one, and I thought that might be an issue as well.  So I tried to uninstall using Windows 7.
There is a file that I cannot delete.  It says it is the HP Photosmart D110 All-In-One Driver Software file, but it is an empty file.  I cannot delete it using Windows or the cmd line.  I think this might be causing the error or the blockage, but of course, I could be wrong.
Thanks in advance for any support here.  If anyone needs more information, please let me know.
    P.S. - I am using Windows 7 32 bit.

    Hi,
Click both the Windows Logo and the R keys of your keyboard. the Run dialog appears.
Type %temp% anc clikc on OK.

Doubleclick the Uninstall_L4.bat file (If you may have am HP PC, click the Uninstall_L3,bat file instead).
Once a black command prompt appears, click on Enter once and a scrubber should start running.
Confirm any aprove any dialog till the installation finishes and Reboot your PC as required.
From C:\Program Files. delete any existing HP or Hewlett-Packard folder.
Brose to C:\Program Files\Common Files as well and delete any HP or Hewlett-Packard folder.
Note: if any of the folders won't be deleted, open the task manager by clicking on both CTR: + SHIFT + ESC and open the Processes tab.
End any existing process (End Task) which starts with HP and then delete the folder again
Next try reinstalling the software and check for any difference.

  • Error 507 after software installation was interrupted

i was trying to update  OS for my bb8520 when i lost internet connection on my laptop so software installation got interrupted, i tried to reload the software but pc wouldnt recognized the bb, it says hardware not recognized, i took it to 2 technicians to try to get it fix but they both said since software installation was interrupted phone is completely dead and its only good to sell it by pieces, is this true? please help, can this be fixed? and how??

    ughhh..no, it can be fixed.
If your BlackBerry stays powered off with a black screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life might be the blinking red LED light in the top corner. Nothing seems to wake it up and Desktop Manager doesn't recognize any device is connected.
    1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    2) On your PC, go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following line exactly (meaning with the quotation marks):
    "c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm
    3) The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
    4) In the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button.
    5) You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Hit Next and Finish and you are well on your way to getting your Blackberry back to life. Just don't disconnect anything and let the lengthy process finish completely.
NOTE: If you do not see a list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead see the message "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator," then you must download Blackberry's Operating System for your carrier and device.
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate carrier and network type, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the above steps again and you should be on the right path.

  • Help Please!!! Error 507

    Hi all,
    I need help!
I sent my BlackBerry in for a service and they wiped it and reloaded the software. It seemed to be working fine and then a few days later it stopped working. The screen says error 507 reload software. I plugged it in and started BlackBerry Desktop software for Mac and it said: "The BlackBerry® Desktop Software cannot connect with this device. If clicking Retry doesn't connect the device, or the device isn't rebooting with a charged battery, you might need to repair your software to correct the problem."  When I click repair it asks me to select a download and I select the suggested one. Than it downloads and then says The device could not be repaired please try again. When I do, the same thing happens again. I have no idea what to do but I can't go on without a phone!
Please help me as soon as possible! All help is appreciated hugely!
    Thanking you in anticipation.
Blackberry Curve 9300, Was running BlackBerry software 6 before it stopped working.

Error 507 just means the device has no OS installed.
You will need to reload the OS to the device:
    1. First locate your carrier and the OS file you wish to use.
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    2. Download the OS file from step 1 to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
    3. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Also check the following locations for vendor.xml files and delete any instances of the file:
On Windows Vista/7 navigate to C:\Users\YOUR_USER\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML (Where "YOUR_USER" is your username)
On Windows XP navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USER\Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML (Where "YOUR_USER" is your username)
    4.  Plug in BlackBerry and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader

  • Curve 9300 Error 507 & trouble reconnecting JVM

Two days ago my BB Curve 9300 started to show a no battery logo after I had charged the battery the whole night. When I switch on the Phone I get a white screen with Error 507 Reload Software.
I have installed the desktop software and the latest OS on my pc, connected the phone to the pc.
However, when I try to install the new OS, it shows the application loader cannot reconnect to the JVM.
I've already tried to do this without the battery and then put the battery back in when it is trying to connect to the JVM, but this doesn't work..
Somebody know what to do now?

That should get it to load the OS to the BB, as a 507 means that there is no OS on the BB at all.

  • Error 507

I wanted to update my 9790 to OS 7.1 using bbsak Bt it failed and it's saying error 507 reload software.i need yo help

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
BBSAK typically is not used to "update" a device...it is a very powerful tool intended for specific issues, and provides a very strong device WIPE, which it appears you ran. A 507 means that there is no OS installed to the BB, and that is the expected result of a BBSAK WIPE. But, you can recover...
The simplest way is to, on a PC (you cannot do this on MAC):
    1) Make sure you have a current and complete backup of your BB...you can find complete instructions via the link in my auto-sig below. (Moot for you now, since you did the WIPE...so hopefully you already have a recent backup.)
    2) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages
    3) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed
    http://us.blackberry.com/software/desktop.html
    4) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
It is sorted first by carrier -- so if all you want are the OS levels your carrier supports, your search will be quick. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To truly seek out the most up-to-date OS package for your BB, you must dig through and find all carriers that support your specific model BB, and then compare the OS levels that they support.
    5) Delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
Now, with that preparation complete, attempt the use of these tricks. But, if any suggest an Update Website or any other means, substitute please LOADER.EXE, which you will find at or very nearby where you found (and deleted) one of the VENDOR.XML files:
KB10144 How to force the detection of the BlackBerry smartphone using Application Loader
KB27956 How to recover a BlackBerry smartphone from any state

  • Reload Software 507 - stuck at connecting to boot rom

    1. My Curve 8900 (Orange Unlocked) had an app error 523 and didnt load, so I wiped it with BBSAK.
    2. After that, my phone starts and shows a white screen with an image and below the error message "Reload Software:507" and stays like that.
    3. I have followed every blog and have followed every step, but the OS is not loading on the device and it gets stuck at connecting to boot rom.
    4. When I open the Loader, my PIN number shows without any problem, so I click "next". When I've selected the apps I want to be installed and click "finish", my phone will reboot twice when the PC shows "Connecting to boot ROM" geting a "fatal error message has ocurred [A0x00000001]" on the loader.
I've been stuck at this process for too long and decided to post here for help.
Is there any solution for my device.
    Thanks!

    Hi vatsal
Welcome to BlackBerry Support Community Forums
You can try JI Cmder to wipe again and then try to load the OS ,But remember you had to click the Next  button on the screen as soon it shows USB PIN : UNKNOWN or else you had to try again :
What to do next if Jl Cmder will not connect and wipe
If that fails then as a last resort you can try this :
KB27956 :  How to recover a BlackBerry smartphone from any state
Please try it and let us know.

Today I went to Blackberry apps and downloaded the Blackberry protect software, while the download was going on, the mobile got off automatically and post that neither its getting on nor I am able to connect it to my
Desktop manager (latest version 6.02). It shows the error as Reload Software 552.
I need to fix it at earliest as its hampering my work, any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Rakeshh
