Error -54 - can't find any reference to this but it's the error I'm getting!
I am running Mac OSX 10.7.5 and iTunes 11.0.3 (42).
Suddenly my iTunes is giving the following error message: Unable to save iTunes file -error 54
I have searched for this error code and don't see any other users talking about it.
Does anyone know what's going on and what I should do?

When do you see this error? What are you trying to do when this error occurs?
The error code -54 is a permissions error (Software lock on file; Not a subscriber [permissions error on file open])
So the first thing I'd try would be to repair the permissions on the drive, where your iTunes Library is located.
If the library is on an external volume, you can use Disk Utility, but to repair your system volume, boot into Recovery and use the Utilities menu (Disk Utility) there. OS X Lion: About Lion Recovery

Friend has a laptop running OSX 10.6.8, with latest software update 22Jun2012. One of the User's items to startup on Login is a file titled "

By the way the 20111227 portion of that name looks like a date -- 12/27/2011.
I'm sure you can delete it. Nothing major is going to happen. But you really should find out where it is.
If Reveal in Finder doesn't show anything it may be because the file is invisible (which might be considered somewhat suspicious). In that case use the finder find command (command-f) and look for kind filename plus invisible. Or just use Find any File to find it. -

I have some troubles recently with Final Cut Pro 7 and would like to remove my preferences. I can't find any "com.apple.finalcutpro.plist" file from the Preferences folder but I do have some preferences. So, where could be the file ?

Error in system Plist - Can't find any references
During a recent scan with Onyx, it found a Plist with an error, but I'm unable to find any references to the plist itself..
/library/preferences/com.apple.systemuincom.plist
Appreciate any assistance if someone recognizes the name and/or function. Last access was back in November, so I'm assuming not a critical or commonly updated file.

When syncing my iPhone with my iPhone, I get a message that 2 items did not sync - use iTunes for help.
But I can't find any help information in iTunes at all, let alone when items are not syncing.
How do I figure out what is not syncing?Since it seems App related, I'm not sure what to offer you. I guess the only suggestion I have is for you to reboot your iPad and then try again. To reboot, hold the power and home buttons at the same time for at least 10 seconds (keep holding past the swipe to shut down bar if it appears) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad will restart. You won't lose any settings or data, so it's worth a shot.

Because of a nasty virus on my computer I had to change my apple ID and password. When I went to update my apps. on my I phone 4s the box said I need to sign in to I tunes. The ID it had in the box was my old apple ID and I can't remember the password. I can't find any where in my phone settings that will let me change my I tunes ID although I have a new apple ID and password that I used to get on this site but I can't change it on my phone. Please help.

Thank you for the help. Every app on my phone was downloaded using my old I-tunes ID. I just hope that they will re-download under my new ID because I still can't change it on my phone. In order to change to the new ID it says I have to sign out from the old ID and change to the new one. My problem is that I don't remember my password to be able to sign out from my old ID. Then the phone says it can change my password through e-mail and I agree but I never get an e-mail at my old address or the new one.

The ipod has been working erratically for the last few weeks. Stops playing mid-song, takes forever to load the next song on shuffle mode. Today, stopped playing altogether. When I tried to reset, I got an orange circle with a X in it and the support web addaress. I can't find anything on the support site that references the x'd circle. Any ideas? Is this thing toast?

Manually put iPod into Disk Mode.

This problem HAS happened before, maybe 1.5 yrs ago. While on a valid page a pop-up saying URL is invalid and can not be loaded appears. Frequency starts increasing in time. Then I can not load any of my bookmarked pages without re-starting my laptop. Has been getting worse since last FF update.
well after 4 days and no support help, I said screw it. Good bye FireFox, your excellent customer service on this issue drove me to install Google Chrome. Just like Opera's piss poor customer support drove me to FireFox, now Firefox is driving me elsewhere.
This issue is NOT AN ADD ON issue, nor THEME ISSUE, its a FIREFOX ISSUE, but their lack of a fix is inadequate for me. I hate the damn annoying pop up every time I open firefox so I will dump firefox and move on after 5 yrs. -
I can't find any info on this error message! HELP!!!
I can't upload/remove songs from my iPod. I have the latest version of iTunes and I have tried 4/5 of the R's (except restore I dont want to lose my songs!)
What is happening is that every time I connect my iPod, it will show in iTunes that it is connected, and I can view everything that is on it, but I get an error popup that says, "The iPod "myipodname" cannot be updated. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable." That is all...there is no error message number or anything. Can anyone help me!? I downloaded an update to my iTunes app on my work Windows computer and now I am constantly getting error messages about MobileMe, when I download a webpage and marked slowness of my Outlook application. I tried removing iTunes and reloading directly from the Apple site, but no change. One of my peers is having the same issue and messages.
