Error 5566 - Infopath form to GetUserProfileByName

I have tried everything I can find to fix this but not having any luck....:(
I have a multi server farm (2 WFE, 2 APP, 1 Load Balancer)
Infopath Form: Created an infopath form that calls the userprofileservice.asmx for method GetUserProfileByName (the data connection is called CreateUserProfileByName in Infopath)
Web Application: Have tried classic and claims with NTLM and Kerberos (nothing works)
Browser : IE 8
The form works fine in Infopath itself. However when published to the server I get the dreaded 5566 error. Pretty much have exhausted all suggestions from the web.
The error message in ULS is - The following query failed: CreateUserProfileByName (User: Domain\MyFirstName.MyLastName, Form Name: Template, IP: , Connection Target: http://spsite/sites/SiteRequest/ConnectionLibrary/file.udcx, Request: http://spsite/sites/SiteRequest/Lists/Requests/AllItems.aspx,
Form ID: urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:infopath:list:-AutoGen-2012-08-28T23:06:23:223Z Type: DataAdapterException, Exception Message: The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized. The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.)
Tried using a udcx file with a hard coded username and password
Tried using secure store service
Tried disabling ASP.Net impersonation
Tried with NTLM first and then with Kerberos Web App
Tried both claims and classic authentication ( guess the former does not work with infopath)
Made sure loopback was disabled on all servers
Have ensured I can get to the webservice directly in a browser
Hosts files on the WFEs point to themselves
Nothing works...:(....any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Jake.

Hi All,
Just an update. Finally after some network tracing I realized this was related to the fact that the request was going through the proxy. Strange thing was that even after disabling the proxy in IE, the system was still routing through the proxy. Then I recalled
a post or two that talked about this in the numerous numerous Internet searches recommendations that I had already attempted. And sure enough that seemed to fix the issue.
 <system.net>
   <defaultProxy>
     <proxy autoDetect="false" />
   </defaultProxy>
</system.net>
Needless to say, the edit should be done through a feature. Anyway, hope this helps someone else also.
Thanks,
Jake.

  • In Infopath forms, is GetUserProfileByName not an option when anonymous access is enabled on the server?

    Hi,
How can you populate an Infopath form with values from the SOAP web service GetUserProfileByName operation when anonymous access is (and has to be) enabled on the server?
Looks like the facility is redundant when this is the case?

    Hope this post helps

    Greetings. Please check
Check the IE settings. Click Internet Options> Security>Custom level. Make sure that the ‘Access data source across domains’ is enabled. Make sure that you have permission to the web service and to the content which the web service tries to modify.

    Hello,
Have you tried to access the form with admin right? If not then please do so.
    >GetUserCollectionFromGroup
This service needs site admin access to access the data from GetUserCollectionFromGroup
so try to add userid in site owners group and see the result.
Also edit your group and verify the group settings. Make sure person who is opening that form is having right to access this service.
Just check and let us know your result

  • Sharepoint 2010, InfoPath 2010 with Custom Workflow. Error Message: InfoPath cannot submit the form. An error occured while form was submitted...

I have created an InfoPath form that submits to a Sharepoint library with custom workflow attached. The workflow is initiated when the user submits the form. An email is sent to the supervisor who clicks the "Encoded Absolute URL" and approved
the form via the emailed form. Then, based on certain criteria the form is either emailed to the VP or the workflow is complete. The VP is sent an email and clicks the "Encoded Absolute URL" and sumbits the form via the emailed form. This is
how I would like it to work. The reality is, the form submits and is emailed to the supervisor and the supervisor is able to approve but when the form is sumbitted I get an error. The error is "InfoPath cannot submit the form. An error occured while
this form was being submitted. The form cannot be submitted to the following location: <URL> The file <URL> is checked out for editing by <me> The operation completed successfully." The operation did not complete successfully and it
is not checked out. I have read in previous posts that the file is locked. Since I am in the testing faze of the project there is no one else using the form. I have waited 24 hours and the lock has not been released. Please help!!! My deadline is growing short.

I ran into your post while having a similar issue.  I don't have a 'full' fix for you, but I noticed at least in our case if you made sure you opened the Infopath form through the browser instead of the client Infopath program (use the drop-down menu
and open in browser) the error doesn't occur.  Hope that helps some....

    Does anyone have any clue??
JP Berube | MCTS SharePoint 2010 Configuration and Application Development

    Hi,
We had the same problem with InfoPath.
After analysis of servers,it turns out that
the anonymous user authentication has been enabled on
    the web application server
via IIS and not via SharePoint
    (unsupported configuration), causing
    side-effects on some queries which
    calls to forms.
    We disabled anonymous access.This desactivation
causes the functioning of forms again.

  • Error when trying to pulish an InfoPath form to SharePoint 2010 list

    I am getting this error:
The SOAP response indicates that an error occurred on the server:
Server was unable to process request.--->  Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Any ideas on why I can't publish form and how I might fix this?
    Laura

    Hi Laura,
According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you published your InfoPath form.
I aggreed with Sangha said, please check the "Design Checker" to check if there are any errors in the form.
If yes, I suggest you remove the related fields and check if the form can be published successfully.
There are two similar posts, please check if they are useful for you:

  • Infopath Form 401 error in LB WFE scenario

I have 2 WFE that are load balanced. Both WFE have disable loop back check. Also there is entry in host file that points to its own ip.
    Example
    165.123.456.21 <name of server>
Is this what i should do in host file or
127.0.0.1 <name of the server> to eliminate double hop issue in infopath form?
    Adit

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to know which IP address should be used and added in the host file to solve the 401 error.
I recommend to use command to get the real IP address of the local IIS server, please refer to the link below:
    http://sharepointconnoisseur.blogspot.in/2011/04/how-to-resolve-401-unauthorized-error.html
As there are many possibilities that could cause (401) Unauthorized error, if above cannot solve the issue, I also recommend to check the event log and ULS log to see if anything unexpected occurred.
To check event log, click the Start button and type “Event Viewer” in the Search box.
For SharePoint 2013, by default, ULS log is at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS.
    Best regards.

  • Form Template Failed to Load Error - InfoPath form for Sharepoint list

When trying to view the InfoPath form for the a SharePoint list (on PWA), we are getting the error:
    Correlation ID:e40f2d85-dbe3-4659-9786-a9f69a406ec6.
    The event log shows:

The form worked perfectly fine for several days and then started throwing this error.
Since this started happening, it can now be reproduced in other lists using a custom InfoPath form, but only seems to occur when editing the item, not adding a new one.
    Steps:
    1. Create a custom list on PWA.
    2. Customize the form in InfoPath.
    3. Add a new item via the form (on PWA, not in InfoPath filler).
    4. Edit the item and the error occurs.

  • InfoPath 2013 error when adding new infoPath form

    Hi
I have created an infoPath form and published it to a SharePoint 2013 site - form library (timerequest).  the form was saved and publish successfully. but when I try to add new document (form),  I got the error below and I hope someone can explain
to me how each URL in the error is reported by either infoPath or SharePoint as I hope with that information i can trace where my problem is.
    background:
SharePoint 2013 farm with 2 servers:  spserverfe1 and
    spserverapp1 (not load balancing)
    web application URL is http://spserverfe1
All managed path site collection I created start with http://spserverfe1/sites/.....
The correct URL for the form library is http://spserverfe1/sites/spsite/InfoPath/Timerequest  (this showed correctly in the manifest file)
what I don't understand is when the error occurred,  the error URL showed both the app server spserverapp1 and the wfe server
    spserverfe1
    here is the error:
The following location is not accessible, because it is in a different site collection: http://spserverapp1/sites/spsite/InfoPath/timerequest/Forms/template.xsn?SaveLocation=http://spserverfe1/sites/spsite/InfoPath/timerequest/&Source=http://spserverfe1/sites/spsite/InfoPath/timerequest/Forms/AllItems.aspx&ClientInstalled=true&OpenIn=Browser&NoRedirect=true&XsnLocation=http://spserverapp1/sites/spsite/InfoPath/timerequest/Forms/template.xsn
Thanks in advance for your comments and advices
    Swanl

    Hi Swan,
For troubleshooting your issue, please create an Alternate Access Mapping for the site at
http://WFEServerName/ to ensure this site can be resolved by InfoPath.
For more information, you can have a look at the thread:
