Error #572 when connecting to smtp mail server

Hello everybody!
I think there are a lot of possible problems may appear when using the UTL_SMTP package in different ways.
Could anybody tell me whether the error message "ORA-29279: 572 a domain name must be specified" has ever been seen and corrected.
The following message appears when I call
c:=utl_smtp.open_connection('w.x.y.z',25);
where w.x.y.z is a correct static IP-address used in my organization which is working when used in Outlook Express, telnet and other programs, but isn't working in Oracle!
When I pass to this function a not existing domain the error message is "421 Service not available", but if in my occasion the message is different then the domain exists! But what's wrong? Could anybody tell me?
I haven't seen an answer to my question anywhere! This error message isn't documented at all!

Well!
I don't know exactly who is 'another mailer daemon' and how to start 'Collaboration Suite'. Are they some services running in OS?
But...
My problem somehow has been corrected. Though I don't know how and when.
When I looked more close to the error I've seen that there is no more error while trying to connect, but it was at the beginning! I just suppose that the IP-address could be seen from Oracle after I configured e-mail in the Oracle Management Server and specified that IP there. Could it be so?
Anyway, thank you very much for your help!

  • Error when connecting to IMAP mail server - untrus...

I am using a Nokia N97 with the v21 firmware.
I am connecting to a mail server via IMAP, using the phone's mail client (not mail for exchange). This has previously worked perfectly, however now I cannot update my inbox and view the emails.
When I try to update the inbox, I get a dialogue box that says "Website has sent an untrusted certificate". After choosing "allow permanently", the inbox does not update. The message comes up every time I try to update (even when I've previously chosen "allow permanently".
I can however successfully send emails via the SMTP server using the phone (IMAP for sending is restricted, so have to use SMTP).
Does anyone have any ideas on why this is happening, and how I can solve it? I've also contacted the IT guys for the mail server, as I'm not sure whether the problem lies with the mail server or the phone, or both.

Make sure you are using right security protocol, for IMAP you need to enable TLS/SSL. Go to email settings> Incoming mail > Security.
If a reply has solved your problem click Accept as solution button, doing it will help others know the solution. Thanks.

Althou i started getting this error com.apple.launchd[1] (org.dovecot.fts.update): Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 second for the past 1 week. i am using 10.9.1 Maverics. I can provide all the logs of the server if needed.

Make sure you are using right security protocol, for IMAP you need to enable TLS/SSL. Go to email settings> Incoming mail > Security.

I think the client is not able to do a HTTP POST

    Hi,
    I deployed a rpc web service using WLS 7.0 SP2 in HP-UX 11 environment.When I
invoke the web service through my browser (IE 6.0) using the web servicesurl,
it brings my service method correctly. From there, if I click the invokebutton
it asks me for a network user name and password under "weblogic" realm???If I
provide the admin user credentials (which I supplied while creating mydomain)
it is not accepting that it keeps popping up this network user passwordwindow
over and over. Not sure which username/password I have to provide here tosee
    the result of my service.
If I try to invoke the web service through my client (static) I am gettinga connection
refused exception. I guess either way, I am not able to access my webservice.
In the attached file, I have cut and pasted the client stack trace as wellas
the server log trace from weblogic.
Any ideas would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,

I set up mac mini and when I test the mail server by sending a mail from administrator to administrator I get the error message 'Diagnostic-Code: X-Postfix; connect to 127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1]:10024: Connection    refused'. Can any one suggest a solution

Thanks. Where could I possibly look for a firewall rule. I knowingly did not creat any. My system has internet coming to a Modem which then is connected to a wireless router. I have computers connecting to the router through cable as well as wireless. One of these computers has been our  mailserver using Mercury and Pegasus and that computer has a static IP address. The Mac Mini also has been assigned a different srtatic IP address. I have only set up user account, none of them an email account as I initially expect them to receive only internal mails. Is it necessary that I must set up an email id for each user while setting up the user account. My server id is server.local. So would the email id for local users be [email protected]?

  • My email account in Mail.app is IMAP, but when I delete emails, they don't delete from other devices connected to the mail server with IMAP. Deleted mail on other devices delete as normal from the server and thus from other devices as normal.

MacBook Pro, late 2011 version. Up to date Mountain Lion.
My email account in the Mail.app is set up as IMAP, but when I delete emails in the Mac Mail App, they are not deleted from the mail clients of the other devices that are connected to the mail server with IMAP. IMAP works perfectly between Windows Outlook 2010, iPad Mail App and Android default mail client. Deleted messages behave correctly, as in delete from one device and the mail is deleted from all devices.
Having just tested in reverse order on the Mac; emails deleted from the email client on Windows, iPad and Android are not deleted in the Mac Mail App.  It appears that the account is behaving like POP rather than IMAP.
Any advice on how to have IMAP work correctly on the MacBook Pro Mail.app?
    Thank you.

Hi Csound1, thanks. The email host is 1and1.co.uk, however, i am going to fess up and make myself look like a plonker now -
the email account in question was set up in Outlook as POP - stupid, stupid, stupid me, wasted an afternoon on this!  I have now changed the Outlook account to IMAP and Mail.app works perfectly - and looks much nicer than Outlook did.  Im in the middle of converting from Windows to a Mac, and still finding my way around the Mac
The lesson learned, never assume - always double  check!  All my other email addresses with 1and1 are all imap, except this one, and it happened to be the first one I set up in the Mail.app. (bows head in disgrace!)
Thank you anyway for attempting to help me!
    Cheers

  • Error -36 alert displays when connecting to a Windows server

    Hi All
I am getting error -36 when I tried to copy any file or folder from windows server
"Error -36 alert displays when connecting to a Windows server"
Even the file info is zero KB, while from other MAC machine it is right size.

You shouldn't get the same error when you are doing it from Terminal. The error should be a little different. I just did a test. Is this a Microsoft 2003 server, 2000 or NT4 you are connecting to? Your post isn't specific. Make sure the System Preferences:Network:Advanced:WINS tab is filled in with the domain you are connecting to next to the "Workgroup" name. The WINS server should already be filled in. Open the connect window with command K. Type domainname\username for the login and then the password. If you don't want to enter the domain each time you will need to add the domain in the Applications:Utilities:Directory Uitility application.
If you are trying to connect to a Windows XP client box, the machine will automatically try to authenticate with the guest account not the username and password you are using even when "registered user" is ticked. You have to edit the registry to change this default. If the username from the Windows PC is the same as the user logon then this is why the PC is able to connect and the mac is not.

A user meet the above problem connecting to Windows 2003 server but have no this error if connected to Windows 2000 Server.
According to the above solution, will you configure Windows 2003 server or just configure user's Macintosh platform?

Actually, win2003 server's default security options are shown as follows.
    1. MS network client: Digitally sign communications (always) - Disabled

    3. MS network server: Digitally sign communications (always) - Disabled
    4. MS network server: Digitally sign communications (if client agrees) - Disabled
We could both be right on this one; it depends on your setup. By default, if you're running a domain then the Domain Controller is:
*Microsoft network client: Digitally sign communications (always) Policy Setting: not defined*
That defaults to the Group Policy setting, which is enabled.
The local computer group policy for Windows Server 2003 is:
*Microsoft network client: Digitally sign communications (always) Security Setting: disabled*
I'm referencing this KB article on Microsoft's website: <http://support.microsoft.com/kb/887429>.
This does not take into consideration that you may have upgraded from Windows 2000 Server to Windows Server 2003.
Regardless, you seem to have already eliminated this as a possibility as you mention below.
In my case, user can connect to win2003 server without problem in the same LAN 192.168.8.x. If connect it from remote lan 192.168.10.x (e.g. smb://192.168.8.250/artwork) error -36 will appear. Since remote lan is connected to local lan by secured VPN, all traffic or any ports are allowed to passe through VPN.
Rather than a server or client problem I would speculate your VPN connection is the problem. Do you have port TCP 445 open or blocked at your VPN concentrator? I believe this needs to be open.
    Hope this helps!

  • RE: Using JavaMail with JSP when access relay is denied on smtp mail server

Could someone please let me know how to get around the problem of sending an automatic email from a JSP when access relay is denied by the smtp mail server. Could it be that the username and password just needs to be added somewhere???
Any thoughts on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

I know what you are talking about because I setup no relay on my mail server. I understand why you need to supply a username and password because if the server doesn't allow relay, then you must supply a username and password. Doing it by IP address wouldn't work because you have to know the IP address of all people accessing that page. I am in the same boat as you and once I find out the answer, you'll be the first to know. There is one quick workaround. Get your Net Admin to create a user specifically for the page you plan to send from. Get him to allow relaying for that one user. That worked on my setup and like I said, I'm setup the same way you are. Thanks, J

  • HT1277 Multiple accounts on same domain in Apple Mail blocks connection to the mail server.

I am trying to run two separate mail accounts on my Mac in Apple Mail, both using the same domain name. I don't want to use aliases because one is a personal mail account and the other is a helpdesk one, with different signatures. I also want to keep emails for those accounts separate.
I can get the first account working fine. When I add the second account, Apple Mail tells me it can't connect to the mail server for either account. As soon as I remove the second account, the first account starts working again.
Anyone know why this might be?
The mail server is Postfix running on a Linux server. My Mac is running OS X Lion v10.7.5.
The mail accounts are IMAP - I also access them from my iPhone 3GS (iOS 6). Again, I can get the first one working from the iPhone, but as soon as I add the second one it falls over.

If the email service you were trying to connect to was an icloud email account, then the outgoing server can't possibly be right (yahoo.com???).  If it's to yahoo, then the "apple.smtp.mail" part certainly looks suspicious.  Are you sure the server address wasn't changed at some point?
So the first question for you is..  which email service were you trying to use?  Yahoo or icloud (or something else)?

  • Setting up CF mail server to connect to ISP mail server

I would like to setup a testing evironment and use my ISP's
mail server to test and create CF mail applications.
When I tried connecting to the ISP's mail server which is
"smtp.comcast.net " I received the following message from
CF admin "Connection Verification Failed". I also tried
entering my user name and password before the server name
    (e.g.: [email protected]:[email protected]
What would cause the communication failure from the CF server
    to the ISP's mail server?
If I cannot get this to run what alternatives do I have?
I am using WinXP pro. Can I install a mail server on my local
machine and configure CF admin to connect
to the mail server on my local machine?

You can install the SMTP server on your computer.
    Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Add/Remove
    Windows Components >
Internet Information Services > Details . check the SMTP
    Service checkbox
Then use localhost as the mail server.

Enter your userID and password for the SMTP server smtp-server.satx.rr.com even though it says "optional".

Hope this helps someone like me, who has trying to figure out what went wrong. I have an iPhone 3G and ActiveSync to Exchange 2003 was working perfect for month's. All of a sudden today it stopped syncing my inbox and my battery just about died? Searched and Searched, rebooted Exchange, removed email account info, still not luck keep getting "Cannot Get Mail" "The connection to the server failed" message. The weird thing is I could get to my sent items, Calendar and AD contacts? But a thread in another Apple forum opened my eyes to what the problem was...a corrupt email in my inbox. Not sure what email it was I pretty much deleted every email I had after the last one I received on the iPhone. But it fixed the problem, no messing with Exchange virtual directories...nothing...just deleted a corrupt email!
    Hope this helps someone.....
