Error 606

Adobe Media Encoder cannot be opened because of error 606. I googled this but it seemed to be mostly a Blackberry issue.

First thing to try with any launch error is to hold Shift down during launch, this will reset your preferences.  If this doesn't work, look at the text that appears in the splash screen during launch and see if it's loading a specific item before you get the error.  That might provide a clue about where the problem is.

  • App error 606 and can't connect to desktop software either

    hello,
    today my blackberry (bold 9780) rebooted and once it restarted i got the app error 606, which i can reset over and over again (no help). i've googled and found out there were more people who've come across this problem. there were a lot of suggestions to use the dekstop software to backup and reinstall. but now i can't even connect to the desktopmanager, and the 'update' button isn't working either. i'm using a macbook pro (10.5.8) by the way. what can i do?
    thanks.

    Hey,
    I already had it fixed. I know you can reset it via desktopmanager and there are some problems with new macs. But my mac isn't new (so no 64bit problem) and it wouldn't recognize it begin with. I never found out it had something to do with the fact that i never connected it before.
    What I did was go to the store, had it send away.. So blackberry did the reset job for me. I got it back in 4days which made it less **bleep** haha.
    I immediately connected it to my mac, and all was fiine.. So some can reset even with an error and some don't.. Hope this says enough.

  • App error 606 reset

    I updated by Verizon BB Bold 9650 three days ago to OS 6.  It worked fine until this morning when I turned the phone on and received a 102 error on the phone.  I performed a re-install of the most recent OS6 using BB desktop software.  After installation I received this message:

How can I fix the problem without losing my data. note: I didn't packup my device ! Another question is if updating the OS will fix the problem, would my files remain the same or everything will be deleted after the update is done ?!

    Just upgraded to OS 6.0. Deleting unwanted mailboxes > asked to update Email Set Application > did so > BB dies with message...App Error 606, Reset.
    What to do?

    At this point, you'll need to reconnect to BlackBerry Desktop Software to get anywhere with your phone.  Have a look at this article from RIM:

    I hope that helps you.

  • Torch App Error 606 + Can't connect to desktop Manager

    Hi,
    I was backing up my blackberry torch last night and the connection was disconnected during the backup. When the phone restarted the message "App Error 606" / "Reset" came up. I can't do anything on my phone except for reset it, and pulling the battery does nothing.
    When I try to connect it to blackberry desktop software it wont connect... I left it for an hour and it still just said that it was connecting.
    I also tried connecting to BBSAK and it couldn't connect there either, so I can't reset it to factory settings. I checked the desktop manager and it recognizes the USB port as connected to a blackberry device but that is about as close as I can get to connecting to anything.
    I have a backup of all of my information from before this happened so I don't mind completely resetting my phone, but I have no idea how to do this without being able to:
    a) connect it to the computer
    b) do anything except reset on the phone
    Any help would be great!
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Try in Safe mode, remove last installed 3-th-party appliction, may be it's help you?
    Safe mode:
    When starting the BlackBerry smartphone, safe mode can be used to prevent third-party applications from running automatically. Safe mode is designed to allow troubleshooting or remove any unwanted applications.
    To turn on safe mode, complete the following steps:
    Remove and reinsert the BlackBerry smartphone battery.
    When the red light-emitting diode (LED) light goes out, press and hold the Escape key as the BlackBerry smartphone is loading. See KB05470 for the location of the Escape key. (The Escape key is located on the right side of the trackball, above the keyboard on the BlackBerry smartphone.Use the Escape key to exit a screen, move back a page in the browser, close a message, or close a menu.)
    When the dialog box appears, click OK.
    Note: Safe mode is indicated by a safe mode indicator in the BlackBerry smartphone status section of the Home screen.
    To turn off safe mode, remove and reinsert the BlackBerry smartphone battery.

  • First error 606 then keyboard not working

    Hello, yesterday my bbtorch screen went blank and the error 606 message appeared, I solved (I THOUGHT I did) that problem by running a firmware update, the message disappeared but now that my phone is working I see that the keyboard nor any other physical key is working. When I slide it open the screen lights up and if it is on its side the image rotates so I think the device still recognizes the keyboard but I don't understand why it won't work, I'm currently running version 7.1.0.1149.
    Any advice is welcome.
    Thanks

    Does the virtual keyboard work in either horizontal or portrait view?

  • Orignaly App error 606...help

    Device info.
    Im with 3, however i did not receive the handset from them. Its a Blackberry torch 9810.
    I Assume it was/is running the newest OS, but at this time i cant turn the device on to check.
    My desktop software version is 7.1.0.37.
    Issue.
    My phone a couple of days ago was unexpectedly turned of. When i tried to turn the device back on, it took a long time getting half way through the OS booting loading screen, crashing and starting again. Eventually it got past the loading screen and showed me the app error 606 screen.
    Now all the phone does when trying to boot up is get stuck in a loop of the blackberry loading screen, crashes after about 20 seconds, then starts again when the red light comes on. When attempting to connect to the computer using blackberry to usb wire, to reload the OS, it stays contended for about 20 seconds, the same time the phone keeps crashing. It just keep losing power, even though Ive been charing it for a while.
    Ive tried following Knowledge base
    -KB10144 How to force the detection of the BlackBerry smartphone using Application Loader
    -KB20371 BlackBerry Desktop Manager cannot communicate with the connected BlackBerry device
    I know i have to reload the OS, however first i need to make sure the blackberry stays connected.
    In Knowledge base KB10144 How to force the detection of the BlackBerry smartphone using Application Loader i get stuck on the step where blackberry software can not communicate with the connected device, either click Retry, Update or Cancel, when i click update, then repair, it just says there are no updates available, and a form below where you can enter your email address. Does not repair the phone at all. Is it supposed to open the application loader? I think this is all to do with the fact the phone keeps switching on then off, when either charging or trying to connect to the computer.
    Might just be me being an **bleep**. But am i missing something? Ive read a million threads to do with the app error 606, Ive tried for about 2 days now to get a proper connection to the computer, or even just to see the app error screen again. Just always gets stuck on the black berry loading screen.
    Any help would be much appreciated.

    No other ideas then. Just get a new phone....
    Have you tried wiping the device completely?  You can skip to step number 5 if you want and see if BBSAK will connect and wipe the device.  Then you'll need to come back to step number 3 (you can skip the backup since you can't make a backup at this point.)  Another trick is to remove the battery and attempt to connect to the device.
    1. First locate your carrier and the OS file you wish to use.
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    2. It doesn't hurt to do a manual backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > Backup. Close Desktop Manager upon completion and unplug BlackBerry. You can get BlackBerry Desktop Software here http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/
    3. Download the OS file from step 1 to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
    4. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Also check the following locations for vendor.xml files and delete any instances of the file:
    On Windows Vista/7 navigate to C:\Users\YOUR_USER\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML (Where "YOUR_USER" is your username)
    On Windows XP navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USER\Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML (Where "YOUR_USER" is your username)
    5. If you're simply updating the OS to a newer version skip this step. If doing a clean OS reload use BBSAK from BBSAK.org and wipe the device (after doing a complete backup) then after you get the error 507 (no OS installed) then proceed to next step.
    6. Plug in BlackBerry and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader

    Not knowing the exact method of OS update you used, it's impossible to know why your contacts are gone. Via most methods, there is an offer to backup/restore your data...but if you defeated that offer, then your data was wiped since you did not allow it to do so.
    If you did not defeat the offer AND you used the Desktop Software or LOADER.EXE to perform the update, then there should be a backup file on your computer containing your data. Search your computer for files with BBB or IPD extension. Any created around the time you did this update are likely the contents that were backed up as you performed the update...and can be used now as the source of restore:
    KB10339 How to use BlackBerry Desktop Software to restore data to a BlackBerry smartphone from a backup file
    On the other hand, if the 606 error message you originally had meant that your data was already gone from your BB (definitely a possibility), then you must restore from some other backup. If you were using the FREE BB Protect App, then your data is there for restore. If you were regularly using the FREE Desktop Software to backup your BB, then your data is there for restore. If you were using a Desktop app (e.g., Outlook) and synchronizing with your BB, then your data is there.
    If you have been doing no backups of your data at all, then your data is lost, and you really should start now to regularly backup your device to protect yourself from this loss. After all, this old saying applies:
    There are two kinds of computing device users in the world -- those who have lost data, and those who will
    Backups, quite simply, are not an optional activity.

  • Error occurring when trying to update

    I need help to try to sort out an error that keeps happening as I am trying to load software update for my device.  I am trying to load 7.1 bundle 2841 and my phone keeps having an "app error 606".  I can't find anything to help me compleete this update and now i am without a phone.  Help please!

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    Here is a KB that discusses that error:
    KB23954 "App Error 606" is displayed on the BlackBerry smartphone
    Hopefully it contains something useful! There also are multiple existing threads on this site that discuss that exact error...your review of those might prove useful, and a search of this site, using the error message, error code, or symptom, should reveal all applicable existing threads to you.
    The KB deals mostly with formal support...but if you want to continue to try on your own, then the simplest way is to, on a PC (you cannot do this on MAC):
    1) Make sure you have a current and complete backup of your BB...you can find complete instructions via the link in my auto-sig below.
    2) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages
    3) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed
    http://us.blackberry.com/software/desktop.html
    4) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    It is sorted first by carrier -- so if all you want are the OS levels your carrier supports, your search will be quick. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To truly seek out the most up-to-date OS package for your BB, you must dig through and find all carriers that support your specific model BB, and then compare the OS levels that they support.
    5) Delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
    6a) For changing your installed BB OS level (upgrade or downgrade), you can launch the Desktop Software and connect your BB...the software should offer you the OS package you installed to your PC.
    6b) Or, for reloading your currently installed BB OS level as well as for changing it, bypass the Desktop Software and use LOADER.EXE directly, by proceeding to step 2 in this process:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
    Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC.
    If, during the processes of 6a or 6b, your BB presents a "507" error, simply unplug the USB cord from the BB and re-insert it...don't do anything else...this should allow the install to continue.
    You may also want to investigate the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe it is capable of.
    You may also want to try the "Bare Bones OS Reload Procedure" to attempt to narrow down the precise causal item:
    Load your OS "bare bones"...if anything is optional, do not install it.
    If the behavior presents immediately, then try a different OS with step 1
    If the behavior does not immediately present, then run for as long as it takes for you to be sure that the behavior will not present.
    Add one thing -- no matter how tempting, just one.
    If the behavior does not present immediately, then again run for long enough to be sure it will not have the same problem
    Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are loaded or the behavior presents
    When the behavior presents, you know the culprit...the last thing you loaded.
    If the behavior does not re-present, then you know that either step 1 or 2 cured it.
    If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.
    You may also need the use of these tricks:

    KB27956 How to recover a BlackBerry smartphone from any state
    http://crackberry.com/blackberry-101-lecture-12-how-reload-operating-system-nuked-blackberry
    If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:
    KB19915How to perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software

  • Cannot load programs they either have error or you open the app and it returns to main menu

    Cannot load programs they either have error 606 or you open the app and it closes and goes to main screen

    Best to do a soft restart, <Hold down the "off" key on top and the "home" button at the bottom until it resets and you see the apple logo. It usually helps with those issues.

  • Use of Pipelined Function in Forms10g(10.1.0.2)...

    Hi ,
    I test the routines found in http://sheikyerbouti.developpez.com/recordset/record_set.htm
    I have a problem in the sample routine in Forms10g regarding pipelined function.
    Whereas , the whole routine database part and client side in SQL*PLUS works fine.... the client side on Forms10g does not.......
    I used two versions in when-button-pressed trigger:
    1)Declare
            cur SYS_REFCURSOR ;
    begin
           Open cur for SELECT * FROM  TABLE(Pkg_Cur_.Get_Raws2(CURSOR(SELECT * FROM EMP WHERE DEPTNO = 10)));
    end;
    The error message in compilation time is..
    Error 606: The subquery cursor is invalid in the client side
    and the second version is:
    2)Declare
          tab Pkg_Cur_.REC_EMP_;
    begin
           tab:=Pkg_Cur_.GET_RAWS2('SELECT * FROM EMP WHERE DEPTNO = 10');
    end;whereas the database package is defined as:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE Pkg_Cur_
    IS
      TYPE REC_EMP_ IS TABLE OF EMP%ROWTYPE INDEX BY BINARY_INTEGER ;
      FUNCTION Get_Raws RETURN REC_EMP_ ;
      FUNCTION Get_Raws2 ( cur_lig IN SYS_REFCURSOR )
        RETURN TYPE_TAB_REC_EMP_ PIPELINED ;
    END  Pkg_Cur_ ;and the database package body is as follows:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY Pkg_Cur_
    IS
      FUNCTION Get_Raws RETURN REC_EMP_
      IS
         TAB REC_EMP_;
      BEGIN
         SELECT * BULK COLLECT INTO TAB FROM EMP ;
           RETURN TAB ;
      END ;
      FUNCTION Get_Raws2 ( cur_lig IN SYS_REFCURSOR )
      RETURN TYPE_TAB_REC_EMP_ PIPELINED
      IS
       Trec  TYPE_REC_EMP_ := TYPE_REC_EMP_(NULL,NULL,NULL,NULL,NULL,NULL,NULL,NULL ) ;
       Remp  EMP%ROWTYPE ;
      BEGIN
       LOOP
         FETCH cur_lig INTO Remp ;
         EXIT WHEN cur_lig%NOTFOUND ;
           -- Handling datas --
           Trec.EMPNO    := Remp.EMPNO ;
           Trec.ENAME    := Remp.ENAME ;
           Trec.JOB      := Remp.JOB ;
           Trec.MGR      := Remp.MGR ;
           Trec.HIREDATE := Remp.HIREDATE ;
           Trec.SAL      := Remp.SAL * 1.1 ;
           Trec.COMM     := Remp.COMM ;
           Trec.DEPTNO   := Remp.DEPTNO ;
           -- Return value --
           PIPE ROW( Trec ) ;
       END LOOP ;
       RETURN ;
      END ;
    END  Pkg_Cur_ ;
    So , how the form trigger should be written...????
    If somebody could help me i would be grateful...!!!!
    Thanks a lot
    Simon

    In the second anonymous block you're trying to populate a record with a table. You would need to select from the function and either bulk collect into a table variable or fetch into a record variable in a loop. Bulk collect is also not supported on the client side.
    I've been looking at pipelined function possibilities in another thread:
    table functions
    The problem you have is actually with the Cursor functions, not the Pipelined functions.

  • My torch fell in soda:(

    Hi
    was wondering if there is anything else I can do,my daugter dropped it in a cup of diet soda(not real sugar, dont know if that matters)  when it happened I immediately opened it up and took out the battery and sim & sd cards  and wiped it out with a towel, I did try it after that but it didn't seem right so I did put it in rice for a little over 48 hrs. I tried it it came on and would make calls (with buttons only,  touch screen would not work), the next day I realized there was still some watermarks under the screen so I put it back in rice for 2 more days. The screen is clear, the other things I have come across are the camera button on the side says"could not start camera, close other applications and try opening camera again" and have had "app error 606" come up on white screen a couple times. so far if I can get to it with buttons I can do stuff, but that has pretty much been dialing phone #s.
    this phone is only 2 months so I really don't want to have to buy a new one.
    any suggestions at all, I was going to reset the software but I can't figure out how to do it.
    any help would be appreciated
    thanks

  • Curve 9300 Doesn't start. Stucks at boot screen

    Hi,
    I've got a brand new Curve 9300 less than a week ago. I've updated it's OS to version 6, and it worked perfectly.
    When I attempted to configure my email, it automatically asked to update with my carrier's email setup software. I just chose ok. I got three warning messages, which I don't exactly remember but it was about something may not function correctly (regarding to version difference). I just continued installation, and it asked for a reboot.
    When I rebooted the mobile, it goot stuck at the boot screen. Then nothing! The thin status bar bellow BlackBerry's logo fills up until it's full, then nothing happens. When I wait for longer time (a few minutes), I get a message on a white screen with a tiny font with "App Error 606", with one option of 'RESET'.
    I pulled out the battery and restored it a few times, nothing different.
    Notes:
    The LED does not do anything, except for a single red blink when it reboots
    The keboard seems to be responsive. I get the Alt and Shift indicators in the top right corner when I press them
    The power button doens't seem to cause any response
    I appreciate your help.
    Edit: The Desktop Software shows that the device is not connected, even though it's attached to the USB cable.
    Edit: The Alt-Shift-Del combination causes the system to go to a blank white screen with that "app error" mentioned above

  • Half restore during update cant find folder or .ipd

    Device info
    Your carrier:
    at&t torch 9810
    Apps and free space
    had apps facebook and flixster both up to date
    free memory is 208142220 bytes
    I got the error 606 java error and with much head scratching I finally got the phone to plug into my computer to perform an update. When prompted to do the update I checked the box backup and update. The backup completed and went straight into the update. Once the update was complete the restore process began and that's when it all went south. The restore failed in the middle with and error, IM sorry no screen shot, but stated restore failed temporary backup will be stored in.... I was so frustrated I closed the box and couldn't find the folder. I was wondering if there's a place that I haven't looked that it would be accessible. I checked in the backup folder and searched for .ipd folders and nothing. the odd thing is the restore managed to restore my pictures ring tones apps but not contacts or saved messages.

    Hey Jabbaju,
    Welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
    If the file is not showing up in the restore option the best  way to locate the file on your PC is to do a search in All files for  ".ipd" files and check the date of the file.
    If the file is located do a selective restore of essential data (Address Book, Calendar, Task, Memos, BBM contacts etc.)
