Error 6753 when printing with airport express

Hi all-
I'm trying to us my airport express to set up wireless printing from my PC laptop. Right now, I've got a netgear router and I -think- I've managed to con nect the airport express to join that network. My goal is simply to use the airport express to print wirelessly.
I've got a green light on the AX and printer is plugged in by USB. However, every time I try to print I get this: 6753 error.
Status: green light
Mode: join a wireless network
Wireless: it's got my network and pw. I've checked the "allow Ethernet clients" although I don't know if I need that.
Connect using: Wireless Network
Underneath this it says "This AX shares a single IP address with wireless clients using DHCP and NAT." Then it has connection sharing bridge mode, but this is greyed out and I can't select anything.
Printers: I see my printer listed, but when I click share printers over Bonjour I get an error message before I can update the AX. It says to edit and change it to a wide area host name.
Do I need to change some settings? Or what "wide area host" do I need to change it to?
I am very new at this. Thank you for any help!

Thanks... I will try that first. I've also been advised to delete the network and add a new one with the printer connected... but your idea is simpler.

  • Printmanager crash signal 10 when printing to Airport Express

I'm getting a Printmanger crash (signal 10) when trying to print to an Airport Express.
Happens when printing to an HP 3600 and an HP PSC1315
Happens with very simple text documents and more complex documents
Both printers USED TO work with this Mac, and I haven't knowingly changed anything
Both printers work fine when connected directly by USB
Both printers work fine using the Airport Express from a Windows XP PC
Printing seems to start, but printer never begins loading paper, and printer queue just stalls (stops and asks to start again although starting again doesn't help)
Print manager logs indicate that print manager crashes with "Signal 10"
OS X upgraded to all the latest; latest HP drivers installed for both printers
This doesn't seem to be an issue with (1) the printers, (2) the Airport Express. Seems to be something in the print manager.
Printers are full of ink and aren't giving any error messages over USB or to Windows XP PC and have no blinking lights.
I'm pulling my hair out. Any ideas?

(Forgot to mention -- I've reset the printing system several times, re-creating the queue and re-recognizing the printer. The printer is always recognized quickly; Bonjour is working fine.)

  • Printing with Airport Express as Base Station

That is, I think our Airport Express is our base station. It's the only thing we have, and we can connect to the internet just fine, but it doesn't show up in the Airport Utility.
The main problem is printing through the Airport Express. Our printer prints fine when plugged into the USB on the ibook but it won't print from the USB on the Airport Express.
We can see the printer located on our wireless network but when we try to print the print center says that printing has stopped with an error of level one, or category one or something. I do see the appropriate printer driver on the list when I add the printer (I think it's an Epson C40ux, but I'm doing this from memory) and that's set correctly. I've got the unofficial list of printers that work and don't work and I see that some printers may need other drivers to work from the wireless network. There must be other things to check, but I'm a little new at this. It seems like this would be a common problem but I'm not seeing many posts like this so if anyone has a moment and any ideas I'd be grateful. Thanks. Mark

  • Wireless Printing with AirPort Express

Hi all, I've had an AirPort Express on my network for a while now and have been printing to a Canon LBP2900i laser printer without any problems.
It seems that since the last firmware upgrade for the AirPort Express was released and installed I receive the error message 'this port type is not supported by your printer' when trying to print.
It worked fine before so I can't figure out why it should be different now.
    Any ideas?

I am using Airport Express with an Epson Photo R380 printer. When I use the Gutenprint 5.1.3 driver I get faded black type but I do have a connection to the printer and it prints.
When I use the Epson driver (and not Gutenprint as the Epson support page suggests not using it to solve the faded print problem) the printer shows up on the Airport Express but nothing happens when I send anything to it to print.
I've tried reloading the Epson driver etc - nothing seems to work.
Any suggestions on either how to get regular not faded printing using the Gutenprint driver or any connection at all using the Epson driver?

  • Print with Airport Express

I've just buyed a new printer (HP Laserjet Pro 300 Color m351a) and installed new HP drivers in my Macbook Pro (with OSX 10.9 Mavericks) and when I connect the USB cable to the Airport Express (first model) to use it wireless I'm not able to see her in printer menu.
When I connect the printer directly to the Mac works fine
    Can anybody help me?

Unfortunately, not all USB printers are compatible with AirPort base stations. In addition, the  AirPort's USB port does not support the "advanced" printer functions, like scanning, copying or faxing, of multi-function printers.
To see if your printer is compatible, take a look at this iFelix Unofficial AirPort Printer Compatibility link. If your printer isn't listed, it doesn't necessarily mean it won't work, but simply that it has not been verified. iFelix also provides the following workaround for printers not on the list that would certainly be worth a try.
Also you can try this Apple Tech Support article to see if it will help: Printer troubleshooting for AirPort Base Stations and Time Capsule
Finally, check out this IBM support article to see if your printer is listed as having a Postscript or PCL3 interface. If it does, then it will most likely work with the AirPort's USB port. Printers that use the "HP LIDIL" interface must be connected to a computer directly and will not work.

I purchased the Apple airport express that connects
    multiple
wireless-networked PCs to a usb printer.
is there a driver that can make this work?. I configured
    the printer
according to the manual, received a test page and so on, but now it
takes ages to start printing and printing never gets to 100%
completion but to 99%. I am not able to cancel printing jobs and this
    is a whole mess.

  • HP PSC 1410 not printing with Airport Express

I have just purchased this printer. I'm running Tiger on a Powerbook G4.
When I set up the printer with a direct USB connection to my computer, the printer is added with the driver "HP All-in-One 3.0.1" automatically chosen. It works just fine.
When I plug in the printer to my Airport Express, the same All-in-One driver is automatically offered. I chose it, and the printer is added to my list of printers no problem. However, it just won't print. It tries to start the print job, and then the printer icon bounces in the dock with a big red exclamation mark. I try to click on start print job, and the same thing happens - it tries to start the job, but then just stops and the exclamation mark appears.
Does anyone know what might be wrong?
    Thanks
    Theresa

The PSC 1410 is not on the list of known compatible printers found at http://www.efelix.co.uk/tech/1013.html - which may very well explain the problem.

  • Error -15000 when streaming to AirPort Express base stations

I have the latest iTunes 8.0.2
The firmware updated to the latest in AirPort Express
    PC: Windowds XP, SP2
When I try to stream music to AirPort Express from Itunes I get Error -15000
I have tried everything according to the support pages with no success. In some support pages the solution is only for Mac. How do I solve this problem for PC with Windows XP?

Welcome to the discussions forum divonka.
I realize those documents refer to OS X, but I'd suggest your problem is similar. Try disabling your Windows firewall. If that works, find a way to open UDP port 5353 as explained in this document. Hope it helps!

  • Printing with Airport Express: never compeletes

    Hi,
I have an HP Deskjet 5740 connected over my Airport Express.
Printing works fine except for one very annoying issue: after the job is done the task is still in the printer's queue, and the activity light on the printer does not stop blinking.
When you look at the printer window under XP, it shows a weird "pages" count, like 4/1 when printing one single page.
In order to print something else you need to cancel the job manually from the printer tray.
    Can somebody please help me?

  • HP officejet J6480 stopped printing with Airport express.

My HP Officejet J6480 suddenly stopped printing wireless. I have my Mac and the printer on a network with an Airport express. The printer prints fine with USB. I have checked all HP software, drivers, and used the wizard to "reconnect" to the Mac. Everything is appropriate that I can tell. When I do the network setup with HP printer, it recognizes my network/router, but then asks me for my "WPA Key." I have no idea what this is or where to retrieve it to enter into the HP printer. Is this the final step to connect wirelessly??? How to I find how about the WPA key that will provide wireless connectivity??

The WPA or WEP key is the wireless encryption password you specified for your wireless network. If you no longer recall what it is, you'll have to reconfigure your Airport Express with a new one, and supply the new password to all your wireless equipment.
If you're still having trouble finding the printer, it may be due to having configured it to receive its IP address dynamically. That's appropriate for most wireless clients, but not for printers. Your Express may have reassigned its address to something else when it appeared the printer no longer needed it. A power failure will also cause a router to reassign IP addresses.
When that happens you have to create a new printer queue in OS X Print and Fax preferences, since the printer is no longer in the same "place", network-wise. For that reason, it's a good idea to specify a static IP address for printers. That way, its IP address never changes, and you don't have to create a new printer queue every time various iMacs, iPhones and other iThings drop in and out of your wireless network.

  • Internet Printing with Airport Express?

I am windows XP user with an Airport Express being used for its wireless printing/music capabilities. It is the wireless N model. Is there a way to print when outside my wireless network or does my computer have to be on that network? I am somewhat familiar with wireless networking/routers if this is the only method.

    Welcome to the discussions!
From the information in your post, it sounds like you have configured the AirPort Express to "join" your wireless network.
If that's the case, your computer will need to be on the same wireless network in order to issue print commands or stream iTunes to the AirPort Express.
Or, did I misunderstand your question?

  • Printing with Airport Express without an internet connection?

I have a printer which I would like to print from my MacBook Air wirelessly.
I don't have any network connections neither a internet connection since I use a wireless broadband card.
So my question is, do I need to have a internet connection for the airport express or can I just use it as a wireless to print.
    Thank in advance.

Though you don't need an internet connection (which technically you have with your broadband card), I have read of an issue with connecting to more than one network (i.e. AirPort Express and your wireless broadband). If there is an issue, then it is possible you will have to switch to the Express for printing and back to your wireless broadband when your are not.

  • No colors when printing through AirPort Express?

I knew I couldn't use all the features (e.g. scanning) of my HP all-in-one printer F2180 through AirPort Express instead of USB. But is it normal I can't print in colors? Can it be fixed?

I am having the same problem. I am running an AirPort Extreme to a HP Deskjet F4180.
I spent two weeks on the phone and email with HP and they finally told me that it was a problem with Apple.
I just got off the phone with Apple support and they told me it is a driver issue which they have no control over. They told me to see if somebody in this forum had a work around or to search the web for a generic driver that "may" fix the problem.
If I find an answer I will let you know.
    Good luck!!

  • Epson 9800 printing with Airport Express

    Hello,
I am trying to print to my Epson Stylus Pro 9800 via a new Airport Express. I want to print from my iMac running OSX Mavericks. All software is up-to-date on my Mac and Airport hardware. I downloaded the latest driver from Epson. I have tried the steps outlined in the forums of reseting, reloading the printers etc.
Seems I can't get this thing to print wirelessly. I tried printing connected directly from my computer via the same USB cable and it works perfectly.
Not sure what to do. The computer is able to add the printer just fine. My computer recognizes it and loads it up for use. Seems like everything connects up until the point of printing. The print dialogue box says, "Printing - Connected to printer" but all I get is the candy striped progress bar and no printing. Seems like there is a bit of a disconnect somewhere but I can't figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone know if the Epson Stylus Pro 9800 can even print wirelessly?
    Thanks!

On your Mac......if you previously installed the printer at the USB port of the Mac.....then you will see an indication that the printer has been installed when you open System Preferences / Printers and Scanners.
And....if you installed the printer again using your Mac when the Epson was connected to the AirPort Express......that will be indicated in Printers and Scanners as well.
In other words, it will appear as if you have the same printer installed twice. But, closer inspection will reveal that the printer is installed in two places or locations on your network.....one on your Mac and the other on the AirPort.
When you click the Print command, you must choose the correct printer location......either at the Mac....or at the AirPort from the "two" installed printers.
It sounds like you may have installed the printer at the AirPort correctly, but you are trying to print to the printer installed at the Mac.....and it is not there.
Another possibility would be that the Epson 9800 appears to be a professional version printer, not a simple consumer model. If nothing above works, this may be a model that will only work when it is connected to a computer.  Epson Support would be the folks to ask about that.

  • Slow wireless printing with Airport Express

I have a Canon MP530 printer hooked up to an Airport Express for wireless printing. My wireless internet network is through an Airport Extreme. The only thing hooked into the Express is the printer, and it works but is extremely slow. It can take an hour to print one 15 page document. Any ideas how to fix this?

I'm not sure I understand your question, or at least I don't know how to tell connection speed with the utility. The express is set up as an extension to my current wireless network, although I'm only using it for printing.
I had a similar experience with a hard drive wirelessly connected to the Extreme - data transfer was ridiculously slow. Is this something to be expected with wireless connectivity?
