Error -6753

Hi, I have an airport extreme connected to a modem and an XP PC.  I am trying to connect an airport express using airport utility, and have reset the AE during the process.  AU can find the AE if I use a cable, and identifies it as an AE using factory defaults, but then AU cannot communicate with AE and gives the message "An error occurred while trying to access the Apple wireless device, make sure your network connection is valid and try again.  Error -6753.  Anyone know what this means?
I have recently moved back to UK but this hardware worked just fine in China where I had it all set up before.
Thanks!

My Windows XP knowledge is mercifully atrophying at a rapid pace, but that error is usually associated with a firewall preventing communication with the Express. Disable your firewall, "hard reset" the Express, and attempt to communicate with it wirelessly: connect to the AirPort Express's open wireless network on your PC. It will appear as "Apple Network nnnnnn" where nnnnnn = hexadecimal digits unique to your Express. Then, configure it using AirPort Utility.
Remember that the open network "Apple Network nnnnnn" will cease to exist after you are finished configuring the Express and it reboots. After configuring it you must subsequently connect to the network you just created.
Don't use an Ethernet cable since that will only confuse matters.
If you're still having trouble disable IPv6 on your PC: change it to "link-local only" or "off" if those choices are available.

  • Error -6753 airport on pc with windows 8.1

    hi!
I was getting error 10057 and I fixed it with disabling IPTCP V6 but now im getting error -6753.
    any ideas.
    Thanks.

Your screenshot did not post.. nothing is visible.
I cannot really help you.. windows errors are too difficult for anyone to understand even Microsoft. Some engineer who programmed it might understand but no one who is conversant with human beings.
Test with a different wireless card or USB wireless stick using a different wireless chipset so you can get a different driver.
Windows 8.1 is simply poor on the network side.
BTW the other cheaper and easier solution is to buy a cheap TP-Link, Edimax etc wireless router and plug it into the Airport as a WAP and use it for the windows computer.. that will often work.. they cost maybe US $30.. whatever that comes to in your country.
Apple make their routers to work only with apple clients. They frankly do not give an applecare if it works with windows.
Another suggestion in this thread.. Windows 8 and Airport Express
Turn off WMM in the windows advanced setting for the wireless.. the airport is not handling it properly.

  • Error 6753 - Possible Solution (worked for me!)

I just spent two frustrating hours trying to set up my AX in a hotel room.
I was running Airport Utility on my PC (Windows XP) but PC could not see the AX. Did hard reset, then factory reset - still no luck. Connected PC to AX with ethernet cable - got the "could not connect, error 6753" message.
Finally, I borrowed a friend's MacBook - ran Airport Utility from there - Mac immediately saw the AX (wirelessly - no need for cable) and my new wireless network was up and running 30 seconds later.
All now works well - both for Macs and PCs.
Moral of this story - despite what Steve Job may tell you, Airport works way better with Macs than PCs...

I tried the same thing to no avail. Apple is aware this is a software problem since ios7 and are doing little to nothing to fix it. I have searched high and low for solutions and besides the common battery hungry features, i have found and tried this, multiple times, and had no improvement.(like you, it seemed to help at forst but after a day or so went right back to draining) The most recent one i saw was turning off icloud backup entirely.. Trying this one out now i will let you know if it helps... Ive even tried turning LTE off but standby STILL drains 10% an hour while locked. Apple has seriously dropped the ball with ios7 and still flaunt it as "the best".. It is lies. I avoided updating for 2 months scared that it would be buggy.. And what do you know my battery immediately had a 50-75% decline in battery. Apple is no help, told me to pay 100$ for a new battery or buy a new phone even after my battery passed their test with something like 91% capacity after a year and 3 months. Also saying the new battery"may not fix the problem"... in other words "your battery is fine but buy a new battery anyway". They know Ios7 is terrible and destroying batteries.. But they DO NOT CARE and probably view it as a way to suck more money from loyal customers already paying boatloads of cash for what are not overpriced products(pre ios7.. Iphones were phenomenal) must have been TOO GOOD to make any money servicing products. How do we fix that? Drain batteries and sell them new ones! I know for a fact it is software.. They must have done this on purpose, or are not fixing it on purpose for monetary gain. Unacceptable!

  • Airport Express error 6753 and IPAD2 "interference"

Airport Express works fine with my pc(Vista) until my brother-in-law comes with his IPAD2 and connects. My pc will connect to the Express(wireless network), but won't go on the internet. Can't get the Airport Utility to communicate either: error 6753. When the IPAD2 leaves everything works fine again. Any ideas? Thanks

I had a hard time to re-configure my Airport Express after an automatic update by Apple (New firmware for Airport Extreme) It just wouldn't work on my Leopard machine. (express was not responding, amber light flashing, unable to fetch configuration settings...etc.) Now, I've downgraded the firmware for the Express again (from 6.3 to 6.1.1) and i used a powerbook with tiger installed to configure the express. Now it all seems to work again. It took a lot of time to figure things out, wich is a shame, but I'm happy to have it all working again. And perhaps this knowledge is usefull to others.

  • How do I resolve error -6753 for windows

Just bought the AirPort Extreme router and can't make it work.  I have limited knowledge and keep getting error -6753 so I can't even uninstall to try starting over.  Also, I get the domain_not_set.invalid error.  Can anyone help?

    Error 20, 21, 23, 26, 28, 29, 34, 37
These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. FollowTroubleshooting security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.

  • Airport extreme error 6753

On my airport extreme router I am getting error 6753.  How do I fix this.  I have reset my router and everything but it will not let me update

This is a communications error  - it can be due to many causes - you have not indicated your OS, AU version, what generation the Extreme is or what kind of reset you did - if you supply this info, you will have more of a chance of getting a response.

  • Airport Extreme and Vista Error 6753

I have Airport Extreme. Mac Pro works perfect with AE. However, my vista desktop does not get internet access despite saying I am connected. AE utility stops with "error 6753". Any ideas. Thanks for your input.

    Anyone?  Bump.

  • Error  -6753 on my Airpot Extreme

Error  -6753 on my Airpot Extreme.  Changed from DSL to cable, and I have internet but when I connect my Airport Extreme into the system there is no connectivity.  Using Bridge mode.  Reset and started over thought I had it then it kicked out this error.  Reset and reloaded defaults, the went through setup again, same result.  I know it has to be one little setting as I'm new to cable internet.

What is the make & model of the other wireless router that you are connecting your AirPort Extreme to? Is this connection wired or wireless? What is your goal for the Extreme?

  • Error -6753 - what does this mean?

I'm trying to access the Airport Utility from a laptop that is connected to a switch. The switch is connected to the Airport Extreme.
The Airport is discovered but when I double-click on the device, I receive the error:
"An error occurred trying to access the Apple wireless device. Make sure your network connection is valid and try again.
    Error -6753.
    OK"
When I try the same thing from a PC that is connected directly to the airport, I'm able to connect to the AirPort utility and this works correctly but I'd like to be able to admin the device from a different computer.
What exactly does this error message mean?

Thank you for the information - a couple of OS updates to Vista and a few reboots and the problem disappeared. Odd but its working now.

  • Error -6753 and no internet

    Hey Guys,
I have a big problem and can't solve it
I have a LG Notebook with Vista... I am in a student dorm with an ethernet network. It works if I plug the ethernet cable to my pc. But then I got an airport express to be able to use dorm internet through a wireless network. I installed the airport utility and configured settings... There are a few problems:
    1) After configuration I am able to connect via wireless my computer to my airport express. But I can't have internet access (light is green, ethernet cable is plugged into airport express (If I plug it from airport express, AE gets a yellow flashing state))
    2) After the first configuration AE is being unable for a few seconds (as usual) and my computer automaticle connects to it BUT I cant configure it in airport utility anymore and get an error -6753 from Airport Utility.
Maybe relevant: In summary section during the configuration there was a problem: Double NAT and in the explanation it said to change to bridge mode. I tried that as well but no change.
What can be the problem? I mean I dont have any problem with wireless connection but having internet access. There must be a problem somewhere between dormitory-network and AE wireless access?!

When you reset the AX, it should have reconfigured itself to broadcast a wireless network with a Network Name (or SSID) of something like Apple Network NNNNNN. In addition it enabled its NAT & DHCP services. Then, when you reconfigured the AX as a bridge, that should have disabled both the NAT & DHCP services, but left the wireless network enabled. In theory, any wireless device connected to the AX should be getting its IP address information from the school's router ... as this should "pass-thru" the AX directly to the client. Also, the double-NAT error should disappear.
    Double-NAT problem has been solved
As a simple experiment, try entering the actual IP address of a popular Internet site, like Amazon, instead of entering the URL. For example, try entering http://72.21.207.65 in your web browser's address window. Did the Amazon.com website come up? Now, try entering http://www.amazon.com; did it show up again? If not, then your computer is not getting the DNS server information it needs from the school's router. Please post back your results.
I understand the issue with DNS but it doesn't work. With IP-Adresse or Domain-Name it doesn't matter. I can't open web pages or my windows still thinks it is local.
    *More details:*
Connect Using: Ethernet (I use an ethernet cable (RJ45) to get internet from my school)
    IP Address: 169.254.159.98
    *Under Internet Internet Connection*
    Connection Sharing: Off (Bridge Mode)
    *Under Internet TCP/IP Section*
    Configure IPv4: Using DHCP
    IP Address: 169.254.159.98
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0

  • Airport Extreme + X Modem M3 + AOL = Error 6753

    Hi,
I've recently bought an airport extreme base station and an X modem M3 (had a usb adsl modem before). I can't configure them to work with aol and keep getting an error 6753 message. I have got the X modem to work directly with my laptop (dell inspiron 9100 with windows xp) although through IE rather than using the aol software. The airport base station says it is connecting to the nextwork but I can't access any webpages! PLEASE help!
    Thanks
    Lou
P.S. Really don't know much about networks so plase bare with me!

I'm thinking about getting tis combination too, this might help...

  • Error -6753 when trying to find my base station

I'm working off a Dell computer with a wireless card in it, and it can't find my Airport Extreme Base Station. I've tried going to "File" and selecting Configure Other..., but when I put in the IP address and the password for the base station it gives me the Error -6753.
What is this error and how do I get my PC to recognize my wireless base station? It's been configured on my mac and to all appearances it's working perfectly, but I just can't get the PC to connect to it wirelessly. HELP!

    Some additional information:
The desktop currently "running" the airport express is a Mac Intel Mini and it's hard-wired into the base station so it's not having any issues connecting (wirelessly at least).
The Dell is approximately 4-5 years old, running Windows XP SP2 and the Airport Utility loaded straight from the disk that came with the Airport Extreme. The Dell is using a 2Wire wireless card that previously had no problems on two Linksys and 2Wire Homeportal wireless systems that were set up in my house and where I worked. The Mac Mini also worked on the 2Wire home system previously.
I can get the mac mini to find the base station and the wireless network created by it (using WPA/WPA2) and connects perfectly fine. Neither the Dell's network connections nor the airport utility on the Dell are finding the base station's network, and no amount of rescanning finds it. The base station is working fine to all appearances.
I'm going to try downloading the Utility from the Apple website today at school but that's not going to help me until I get home at 5pm. Help!

  • Error - 6753 and 10057 when trying to setup airport express in XP

I keep having this problem when i try and use my airport express. My PC can pick up the airport but when i try and click manual setup or continue i get error -6753 or 10057.
Please can someone help me out with a step by step procedure to set an express up with Windows XP

Unfortunately, things like this can happen when you try to use current software on a 6 year old product.
The solution is exactly as the message states:
You will need to use AirPort Utility 5.6 to update the firmware on the AirPort Extreme.
AirPort Utility 5.6 can be installed on a Mac running Leopard (10.5.x) or Snow Leopard (10.6.x) or a PC. If you do not have access to one of these devices, you might be able to take the AirPort Extreme to an Apple Store to have them update the firmware for you.
Once the firmware on the AirPort Extreme has been updated......then..... it will be possible to administer the AirPort Extreme using AirPort Utility 6.3.1.

  • Error -6753 when rtying to configure Airport Express

Hi, I've been using my Airport Express for a long time and I was very happy from day one, as I required a device to play my music and print wireless and the Airport Express was the answer. But for the past month I have nothing but trouble with the AE. I've hard reset the AE for so many times, that I've lost count.
I've gone through forums etc, and I can see that others have the same issue (Error -6753), but the frustrating part is, that nobody (including Apple) have a solution to this problem.
I've tried to configure via my iMac and my Windows laptop, but all of the devices get the same error. I've tried to down grade the firmware, followed by an update, but nothing.
I'm at the point where I will chuck it in the bin, as I had enough.
Can anybody help with this error and provide me (and others) with a final solution.
    Many thanks,

I have used my Airport Extreme without problems for over a year. Suddenly today, it stopped working properly. I can still connect with my broadband cable modem (Motorola, via Comcast), but not wirelessly with my laptop or iPhone.
AirPort Utility finds my Airport Extreme (which I have restored to factory defaults), but I can go no further. Whether I select "Continue" or "Manual Setup," it tries to join the wireless network for a few moments, but eventually just says "An error occurred joining the selected wireless network." At this point, it provides this useless and poorly constructed sentence: "An error occurred, close the configuration window and try again."
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Error -6753 reading the device, cannot set up to extend network

I just purchased an Airport Express to try and extend my network signal, from a Netgear Dual Band router. I have tried for the second time to set it up, this time on my work laptop. It finds the unit, then say I must upgrade the firmware. Once I try that, it is reading the unit and I get an "Error -6753" and cannot go any farther. I am trying to manually set this up.
Thanks for any help. I just need stronger signal for my work laptop up in my office at home.

The AirPort Express can wirelessly extend a network that is provided by another Apple router.
So, the first obvious troubleshooting question here would be.....do you have another Apple router?
If yes, what is the model number of the device?
Are you still using Mountain Lion (10.8.2) as you indicate in your tagline?
