Error 80070490 Hp Envy 5530

I'm getting this Windows update errorError 80070490 (details below)when i try to install the update for my HP Envy 5530 All HP drivers and software are up to date, wifi is connected to printer and working and  1. Ran Windows 7 System File Checker and it came back clean stating:  Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations. 2. Ran Windows System Update Readiness Tool (Hotfix for Windows (KB947821) and it came back with no errors but I cannot get this update to install. Full Error details are shown below. Do I need this update? If so, how do i fix? Hewlett-Packard - Enterprise WSD Multi-Function Printer, Other hardware - Null Print - HP ENVY 5530 seriesInstallation date: ‎5/‎28/‎2014 3:54 PMInstallation status: FailedError details: Code 80070490

Thank you for this information. Running the DISM tool is from the Microsoft document I provided from my previous post: Windows Update error 0x80070490. Click on Windows 8.1 or Windows 8 steps. You can still perform this on a Windows 7 computer. I also noticed from your previous post, you downloaded the Hewlett-Packard - Enterprise Multi-Function Printer- HP ENVY 5530 driver.  Another step I am going to recommend is uninstalling the HP Envy 5530 software. I want you to get the correct software on your computer. Also, this could help with the Windows error message. Please follow this HP document on Uninstalling the Printer Software from the Control Panel. Next, clean out your Temp folder on your computer by following this document here to help you. Please perform another clean boot before you install the full feature software. Once this is complete, here is the correct download here. Choose your correct operating system; Either 32 bit or 64 bit. Please post your results again!

  • Scan to email server connection error for HP Envy 5530

    Hi, Everyone!
I LOVE my printer.  But, I had to add another laptop (both WIndows) - and then had to add a couple of monitors to that laptop (and a docking statiion) and now it doesn't want to scan to my emails any longer after working like gangbusters for months.
I am connected just fine with an excellent signal - but now when I try the Scan to Email feature - a RED X immediately shows up on the right of the control pad and the message says: Server Connection Error. EVEN though I am wirelessly connected just dandy.
I am not a technical person in the least.  I have no idea what to do.  I tried all the turn off, turn on stuff.  Nothing is working.
    Thanks for our help!

  • Error trying to set up web services/HP Connections (ePrint) for HP Envy 5530

I have been trying to set-up my new Envy 5530 printer and I can get the printer, computer, and wireless network to communicate with each other. However, when I try to get the printer and network to talk to each other to set up Web Services and HP Connections, the printer tries to download the latest product updates and has a server error saying it cannot connect to the server It wants me to check the connections or set a proxy server address. Also, when I try to get a claim code printed, I run into this same issue. Help!!

    Hello Woodpeckyr,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I see that you are trying to setup Web Services on your ENVY 5530 but are unable to connect to the server. A colleague of mine as worked with this issue here: Envy 5530 Web Services

  • Envy 5530 error msge problem connecting to server

unable to connect to server,Ihave internet connection, updated drivers, rebooted, scan doctor etc

    Hello tmjwright,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you are unable to connect to the server with the ENVY 5530. I would like to offer a few suggestions to attempt to resolve this problem.
Check for updates on the printer, Getting the Latest Firmware and Product Updates.
Power off the printer and ensure the power cord is connected to a wall out let.
Next you want to power reset the router. If it has a power button press that, if not, remove the power cord. Wait 60 seconds and then allow it to power back up. Once router is fully on, power up the printer.
Test the connection, if it works there is no need to continue. If it doesn't, try the next suggestion.
Refer to this Thread answered by a colleague of mine happytohelp01 : Efax 7510 still won't work after turning off/on ePrint several times. Follow the steps to setup a Manual I.P and DNS for the printer over the network. The steps will be the same, if not very similar for your printer as the one in the above post.
Try to connect once done the above, if still unable to connect, continue below.
Go back to the above Thread, rather than using the DNS suggested try this set; Primary DNS Server : 209.244.0.3 & Secondary DNS Server : 209.244.0.4.
Try connecting, if the feature is still not working you will need to call HP's Cloud Support team. If you live in the USA/Canada, 1-855-785-2777. If you live outside the USA/Canada, click HERE to find the Technical Support number for your country/region.

  • HP Envy 5530 - Printer Cartridge Issues

I have had my HP Envy 5530 for about 6 months now.  It used its first set of cartridges (HP61) and was half way through the second set of cardtridges when an error appeared reading:
"The indicated cartridges are not compatible...."
I know for a fact that the second set of cartridges are brand new HP61 cartridges.  They worked for quite a while and then the error occurred.
Thinking that the second set of cartridges had a problem I purchased another set of brand new HP 61 cartridges.  Immediately the same error occurred.
I tried everything to get the printer to work to no avail.
Please help me out on this HP techs.

  • Envy 5530 Wireless Installation Issue

Printer connected to my home router.  No problem.  Installation on first laptop (Win8.1) - wireless installation, and printing no problem.  Hooray!  However, wireless installation on second home desktop (Win XP) fails.  The following image confirms this.  I've downloaded the latest drivers, run various diagnostics, (reinstall drivers etc.) but still no success.
    Any ideas, please??!!

Hi there, thanks for your prompt reply.  Most appreciated.  I downloaded, installed and ran the HP Print and Scan doctor, and the conclusion was the following message:
I clicked on "Get Installer" and this directed me back to the HP Envy 5530 site, and was told to download the full version of the driver software, which I did... but back to square-one.  The error (see original image from my post) is still being displayed, and my XP desktop fails to connect with the printer.  Any further assistance is very, very appreciated and welcomed!!

  • HP Envy 5530

My printer doesn't scan or copy....only prints. I've been pulling my hair out on this printer for over 2 weeks now. It's doesn't recognize/read the software installed on the computer. The software CD that came with the printer installs on my computer, but the printer won't read it. I want to install via a USB cable, and initially I thought I had perhaps a faulty cable, but I bought a new one, and the problem persists. But nevermind the installation CD. I'm supposed to do certain tasks BEFORE even installing the software. It cleans the cartridges. It spits out a copy. It spits out copies of everything. It will print an alignment page, but when I place the page face down on the glass and press ok for alignment, it stalls with a blue screen that reads" C4EBA808", then it shows a white screen that reads ERROR and everything on the entire front panel screen continuously flashes and nothing functions. I can't even turn it off unless I unplug the power cord from the port. Basically, that scanner mechanism that is supposed to light up and move back and forth under the glass that scans and copies, will not work. I have tried everything imaginable and then some since 11/28 of this year to absolutely no avail. What really is a **bleep** shame is that we bought this printer just over a year ago (9/29/13), and never set it up for use until the day after this past Thanksgiving just a few weeks ago. So yes, I have the receipt and everything that came with the product, including a half dozen extra HP ink cartridges, but since it's a year "old", it's basically worthless to us and $108.00 including sales tax flushed down the toilet since HP probably won't take it back and ship us a re-furbished one, which is precisely what HP does all the time in situations like this. Making matters worse for us is the fact that this happens when we really need it the most. I'd like to know how to perhaps wipe everything clean from the printer as it was when I took it out of the plasic packaging, you know, language, country etc. I have yet to call HP as of today. I'll do it tomorrow becasue I'm too upset right now.

    Hi @NORJC
Since you can not copy or scan, I believe the issue is the hardware, as the software has no impact on the copy feature.
Do you have the printer connected directly to a wall outlet or is it in a surge protector or power bar? Even if you have been using a surge protector/power bar all this time and you feel it is not the cause, please connect it to a wall outlet just so we can eliminate the power source as the root cause.   Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector
In this document you will see, ISSUE: Problems or issues may arise when an HP LaserJet series printer is connected to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), a power strip, or a surge protector
^ This is not limited to Laserjet printers.
Also, click the link below to ensure the printer has the latest firmware update. This firmware update can improve printer performance and fix miscellaneous defects.

  • HP Envy 5530 e-all-in-one... lost ability to scan a page to email...

Error "there was a problem connecting to the server"  came up when trying to scant to email on my Chromebook via the clouds.  Was working.  prior to being shut down for a week while on vacation.  I can scan to a ssd chip and get to PC that way.  I printed out Config. page. Internet & status show connected.  Router/modem ok for my pc, and wife's.  Hit retry several times... no good.  Attempted several full tries.  Got a new password, no change.  Shut down equipment a couple of times... no change.  Printer approx... 100 days old.  Low end printer for low usage, and low price... can't invest too much in it for fixing.  But, not eager to buy another one either!? Hum? Any ideas?
    This question was solved.

    Hi Sturgeon,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I understand that you have encountered difficulties when trying to use the scan to email feature of your Envy 5530 printer.
There are several steps I would like you to try please.
    Please turn off your printer.
Please turn off your router.  If your router doesn’t have an on/off switch, please unplug the power cord from the router.
After waiting a full 60 seconds please turn on your router (or plug it back in).
After the router has completed its startup routine please turn on your printer.
After the printer has completed its startup routine, please test the scan to email feature.  If it works there no need to continue with any further trouble shooting steps.
Please set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer. I have included a link to another post with the steps, including screen shots on how to do this.   Don’t worry that the screen shots show a Photosmart 7510 printer, the steps are the same.
Please test the scan to email feature.  If it works there is no need to continue with any further trouble shooting steps.
Please call HP’s Cloud Services at 1-855-785-2777 if you live in the USA/Canada region. If you live outside the USA/Canada region please click here to find the Technical Support number for your country/region.

  • I can't hook my ENVY 5530 printer to my Chromebook? Can you help me?

I cannot hook up my ENVY 5530 all-in-one printer to my HP Chromebook.  Can anyone help me?  I can't even download the installation software onto my Chromebook.  Thanks.

    Hi Volksmarch,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I understand that you have a Chromebook and an Envy 5530 printer and would like to get them setup and running.
Let's start by getting the printer onto your home wireless network. That can be done from the front panel of the printer using the Wireless Setup Wizard. If you are unsure how to do this the steps can be found on page 55 of your User Guide.
Now that the printer is connected to your wireless network we need to setup the ePrint feature of the printer. I have included the Getting the Printer Claim Code. Once you have the web services information sheet with your printer claim code, please follow the steps in Setting Up a Custom Email Address for ePrint.
Now that we have customized ePrint email address we need to set up Google Cloud Print. Please follow the instructions in Using Google Cloud Print with your HP Printer. Please follow the steps for an ePrint-enabled printer. You should now be able to print.
If you run into any issues with the above, please let me know at what step things went awry and the contents of any error messages.
    Have a good weekend.

  • Enable web services for hp envy 5530

I keep getting enable web services when I am trying to scan a document. I have clicked on yes about a million times but it wont let me move forward with scanning my documents. I am using MAC OS system.

    Hi @cixxpac77,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.   I see that you are getting a message to enable the web services on your Envy 5530 printer when trying to scan.
From your description I suspect that you are trying to use the scan to email feature of your printer.  This feature requires that you setup the ePrint feature of the printer.
The first step is to please ensure your printer is connected to your wireless network.  This can  be easily accomplished from the front panel of the printer using the Wireless Setup Wizard.  If you are unsure how to do this, the steps can be found in your User Guide on page 55 in the section titled “To connect the product with the Wireless Setup Wizard”.
Once the printer is connected to your wireless network, let’s enable web services.  The steps to enable the web services can be found in the Getting the Printer Claim Code document.   If you wish to customize the printer’s ePrint email address I have included the Setting Up a Custom Email Address for HP ePrint document.
If you encountered an connection error message when trying to enable web services, please set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer.  I have included a link to another post with the steps, including screenshots, on how to do this.  Don’t worry that the screen shots are for an Officejet 4630  the steps are the same.
Please let me know the outcome.

  • ENVY 5530 printer showing offline on ipad

Just bought the ENVY 5530. Set up on home computer is fine, but not able to print from iPad.  Keep getting error message stating printer is not online.
I've checked printer status on HP Connected and it shows online. Wifi connection indicator (blue light) on printer control panel is lit and not blinking. How is it possible that the iPad can locate the printer, but still come back with a message that the printer is offline?  How else could the iPad locate the printer - makes absolutely no sense.
Any guidance is greatly appreciated.  Please do not send me the following lnk as I found it to be useless.

    Hi There,
You should be able to print using the iPad's in built printing app, AirPrint.
On IOS7 when selecting your image to print, try following the steps below:
If you're still not able to print using AirPrint, then I'd suggest powering down the printer and plugging it out for 30 secs before powering up again. If you still can't print, I would then restart your iPad and try to print again.
When you click the options Icon you should then be able to select the print Icon below: (You might need to scroll right after you hit options button to see the print icon)
You should then be in a position to select your printer. If the wi-fi function is on, then it should be visible.

  • Cannot print wirelessly from MacBook to ENVY 5530 get message printer offline

Cannot print wirelessly from MacBook to ENVY 5530, get error message that "printer is offline"
    Thanks for the help.

    Hey @Geneferg,
Thanks for getting back to me regarding this issue. Because your printer shows connected on the Wireless Test Report, I am going to have you run some standard Mac troubleshooting steps to see if we can resolve this issue.
Step 1: Uninstall Drivers and Software:
First, it's important to have a nice clean slate to work with. Therefore, I am going to have you remove and uninstall the software and drivers for your HP Envy.
To start, can I please have you click here and run through the steps on how to Reset the Print System for your computer. Please run through the steps on 'Resetting the printing system in Mac OS X v10.5.x or 10.6.x'. This will remove every printer from your computer. However, this does not uninstall the printers. Therefore, if you use other printers on your Mac computer simply ensure that the printer is connected through the USB Cable or network connected and (+) add the printer back in via the Print & Scan window. Do not add your HP Envy back in at this time.
Next, please click here and follow through with the uninstall steps under the 'Mac OS X v10.6, OS X v10.7, OS X v10.8, and OS X v10.9' dropdown.
Once the uninstall is complete, please proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Verify and Repair your Disk Permissions on the Mac:
Open Macintosh HD and go to Applications
    Go to the Utilities Folder
    Open the Disk Utility
Select the Hard Drive volume you are using (usually on the left)
    Select Verify Disk Permissions
Once that process is done, select Repair Disk Permissions
Step 3: Check for Apple Updates:
    Go to Apple
    Select System Preferences
    Select Software Update
    Click Update Now
    Install your available updates
    Restart your computer
Step 4: Reinstall your Software and Drivers:
Please click here to download the latest drivers for your printer
Once the website opens, select the Download button on the top left
Once the download is complete, please follow any onscreen instructions to reinstall your wireless printer
Once your printer has been successfully reinstalled please test the printing function again to verify if the 'offline' issue has been resolved.
Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!

  • HP Envy 5530 & Windows 8.1 : Does not print the whole document

Hello, I cannot seem to print an entire document longer than 3 pages with the HP Envy series & Windows 8.1 from any of my programs.  It will stop after a handful of pages (randomized with which page it stops at), with a simple error message, "Could not print document."  This goes for double sided as well as single sided pages.  It doesn't matter if it is color or b/w.  I first had the Envy 4500 and did everything I could to fix the issue.  I uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers using both CD and online installers and ran the HP Print and Scan Doctor, which could not find any issues.  The Network Configuration page & Test print pages were also fine.  I tried printing immediately & printing once everything has spooled.  Nothing worked. I finally gave up and upgraded to the 5530 in hopes that it was an incompatible driver.  However, I am still having the same issues, despite the "all clear" from the Print & Scan Doctor.  Please help!-ebdsnyder

Hi there, The only thing I can recommend at the moment would be to setup another instance of the network printer. Firstly I would recommnd setting up the printer with a Fixed IP address as if the IP address were to change later the printer would stop working. Then go into the Control Panel (use Windows Key and X and choose Control Panel from the menu that appears) and choose Devices and Printers. Click in the printers area and choose Add Printer. When the next screen comes up the computer, the system will search the local network and display any printers that are found on the network.  Choose the Envy 5530 and click next The computer will then add a network port and ask you to choose the driver. Choose use driver that is currently installed. The computer will then ask you to Name the printer, choose a descriptive name that will help you identify it later. The computer will then ask you if you want to share the printer, I would recommnd not sharing it for now. The computer will then ask if you want to set this as the default printer, this choice is up to you. Click print a test page to check that the printer works and then click finish. After this you will have an extra printer icon for your device.  I would recommend going into the Printer Properties on this new device and change the printer driver to the one that does not have the words Class driver after it (The Class driver is a cut down in OS version of the complete driver). This can be done from the Printer Properties advanced tab. I hope this all makes sense. Good luck and if you have any question please post them back here and I will try and help you out.
