Error 86 another version of creative cloud is running. But I can't find it?

Trying to upgrade my cc desktop.  It says that there is another version running but I can't find it.
Not in the desktop menu or the force quit window.
Now what do I do??

Well I restarted and it reappeared in the menu of the desktop. So I think I'm good.

  • Microsoft Outlook 2010 Error "Another version of Outlook is currently running." when clicking on a mailto link

Our company recently upgraded from Outlook 2007 to Outlook 2010. The mailto links on an intranet work fine on local computers running Outlook 2010 but on the terminal servers, users are getting the following error:
"Another version of Outlook is currently running. Close it and try again."
I have made sure that Outlook is the default mail client.
Home & Business Click2Run has never been installed on the terminal server.
The error happens in standard as well as safe mode.

    Hi,
What program is set as default for mailto?
Have you installed Home & Business Click 2 Run before? There is a limitation in click 2 run version that the mailto is trying to use your older version of Outlook.
If this is not the situation, try to test this issue in the safe mode.
    Click
Start, point to All Programs, and then point to
    Microsoft Office.
    Press and hold the
CTRL key, and then click Microsoft Outlook.
If the problem does not occur in the safe mode, this issue might be related to some third-party add-ins in the Office program, we can try to disable them.
Please also set Outlook as the default email client on the computer.
    ======================
    For Windows Vista/Windows 7:
    1.
    Click Start.
    2.
Type "default programs" in the Start Search box.
    3.
Click Default Programs under Programs in the search results.
    4.
Now click Set your default programs.
    5.
Highlight Microsoft Office Outlook or Microsoft Outlook on the left.
    6.
Click Set this program as default.
    7.
    Click OK.

  • Creative Cloud Desktop - running but no icon

The Creative Cloud Desktop application does not appear to be working for me anymore. It worked when I first installed it, and after the next 1 or 2 times I booted my machine, but it hasn't worked since.
It appears the application is running (if I drop to a terminal and run a "ps ax" I see three "Creative Cloud" processes actually, each with different command line options), but I do not have an icon in my menu bar. If I try to run "Creative Cloud" from Spotlight, nothing happens. If I kill all three processes ("killall -HUP 'Creative Cloud'"), all three close. After which, running "Creative Cloud" from Spotlight will make one reappear in the process list, but still no icon on the menu bar.
I've tried searching these forums and Google, but I can't find any solutions. I found one post where a user was having a similar problem, but his solution was that the app was running under a different user. If he switched to the other user and killed the app, then switched back it worked fine. However, though I do have 2 user accounts on this machine, I haven't logged into the second account for probably 3 years (I'm not exaggerating). I only ever use this one account, so that seems unlikely... it also wouldn't explain why it still doesn't work even after I "killall".
    I'm running OSX 10.7.5.

    Hi bmatcuk,
Please uninstall CC desktop and install again:
    1. Go to Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers and uninstall Creative Cloud desktop
    2. Navigate to Applications/Utilities and look for Adobe Application Manage folder and move it to trash.
    3. Run the CC cleaner tool and look for any traces of AAM. If present remove it: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
    4. Navigate to Libraray/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE and rename to OOBE.old
    5. Download and install CC desktop from the mentioned link:https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud
Please let us know whether it worked.

I recently downloaded a trial version of photoshop but I can't find a simple enough way to start it. I'm signed in but when I press the "get started" button it brings up the purchase options. I just want to run the trial for now. Any ideas?

  • When I attempt to open firefox an error message appears telling me that firefox is already running, but I can't find it running. How do I do so or in any case close the already running Firefox process?

When I attempt to open Firefox instead of Firefox opening, an error message appears saying "Firefox is already running but isn't responding. To open another window please close the existing Firefox process or restart the system.", but I can't find that process of Firefox in order to kill it, and after restarting the system there is still the problem. I have found an emergency fix to at least get online, and that is to use"Firefox_Profile_Manager" in the start menu's "run" start menu, but the
Firefox that then opens is that one doesn't carry over what I had in my bookmarks but starts bookmarks anew.

Sounds like it is hanging when you exit and later try to restart Firefox.

  • "Another version of Creative Cloud desktop is currently running"

so I can't update CC, so I can't install fonts, so . . . etc. If CC is running, I don't see its icon not does it appear in "Force Quit".

Mr. Werner says that when I shut down my computer and restart, the currently installed version of CC loads.
So when I try to install/update the new version, I get a message saying that I have another version running.
So to install the new version, I have to find and close the current version. And that I could not do.
However: I finally stopped trying to use Finder to look for the CC app and used my eyeballs instead and found an "Uninstall Creative Cloud" program in Utilities. And I used it, and it worked, and now I was able to install the new version of the app. Roundabout but effective. If anyone else has my problem, give this a try.

  • "Another version of Creative Cloud desktop is currently running." Nope, it's not. Let me update!

I can't open the CC program to install Premiere for a work project. I have a CC membership. I need to udate, apparently, but I keep getting this error message. I have literally no other programs running. I can't open CC without update, and I can't even do that. I'm stuck. Help?

    Hi Barn3398,
Please open task manager (ctrl+alt+delete) and go to processes tab.
There you should look for the process named CreativeCloud.exe. Select this process and then click on 'End Process'.
You can try to install the update now.
    Thanks

  • Creative cloud is working but the webpage cannot find the files and returns a SERVER PROBLEM

What is wrong since the latest updates of Creative Cloud ??
The upload is working fine but the Webpage is mostly not reachable and returns a SERVER error.

I always use the app on my iMac, since more then one year.  The Creative Cloud is then Syncing my files.
After that I can distribute by making a public link, but since the updates, I can see my folders on the web, but if I enter a folder, then comes a SERVER error.
In my synced folder on the iMac, the files are marked with the green v whats means, the file is synced withe the cloud.
Our system is not overloaded, I hev tested it with other dropbox and other cloud sites.
