Error 90% of the time trying to play a movie

I get the following error almost every time I try to play a quicktime movie and it forces me not only to close the quicktime window, but also all my open browser windows as well.

Is there something wrong with this "quicktimeessentials.qtx" file? It makes me mad because I finally purchased Quicktime Pro and now I cant even play most Quicktime movies in Internet Explorer. And I've already tried completely removing and reinstalling it and I still get the same problem.

I think this is a change Apple made in Mountain Lion to prevent protected video from displaying while some kind of software is capturing the screen. In my case, video plays fine in iTunes until I connect to the system via Apple Remote Desktop (vnc://). While connected, I get the checkered pattern on the computer itself and via remote desktop and the problem goes away when I disconnect. It is terrible on recovering from full screen, then connect via remote desktop, then disconnect. The size may be off and the borders are still checkers. Pausing and unpausing with the mouse/keyboard/remote appears to fix the border checkers.
I also noted this behavior with iTeleport from the App Store (controlling app). If I launch the App while protected video is playing in iTunes or Quicktime, checker instead of the video (audio plays fine). Close the app, the checkers go away. I would not be surprised if there are other applications out there that can cause the checkers problem all the time (a menu icon for a remote control or screen capture application).
Also as an additional note this is a clean install of Mountain Lion with my normal suite of software I was using in Lion.

I have to say Im a little confused to. Following the steps outlined:
Desaturate in LR.
Export as a JPG (add to this catalog selected- for reimport)
Select image. Switch to Print Module
Print file.
No problems as expected. I dont see that there is any seting to adjust that will clear this issue.
Q. Is it consistent with every BW file or just some?
Aside from changing your workflow so as not to produce jpgs at all in favor of a Lightroom gallery for showing your clients the images, based on the info I have I cannot replicate the problem. So I will try first an optimization of the catalog.
Prefernces > General > Go to Catalog Settings > General > Relaunch and Optimize.

While iMovie is NOT RUNNING - move this/these file/s out on to desk-top.
Now restart iMovie.
If You run Mac OS X.7 or more - then the Library in the User-account folder is invisibly and need to be set to be viewable. IT IS NOT in the Library on Root level (when opening MacintoshHD - first window = root level)
( It can be done like this: Open Terminal, then enter: chflags nohidden ~/Library
Press return, then restart, and it will always be visible until the next major update, when you do the same thing again. )

I got this error message when I tried to play rented movies after downloading.
"We could be complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-42110). There was an error in iTunes Store. Please try again later."
Anyone has similar experience?

Please also check the downloaded file by right-clicking > Properties > Digital Signatures, which should say '''Mozilla Corporation''' and '''This digital signature is ok''' in '''Details'''. You can download Firefox from a known site like e.g. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
You can try to Reset Firefox which would hopefully display the missing features, all (contacts, emails, settings etc.) of which are actually stored at the MSN site and are temporarily displayed by Firefox every time the site is accessed.
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.

This is a common issue that NI LabVIEW does not address.
The good news is that OpenG provides a function to do just what you need.

The way to get the OpenG functions is to use the JKI VI Package Manager (VIPM).
In addition to the OpenG functions there are several other community provided tools avaliable through VIPM.
For a quick test, I'm attaching these files (LV version 2010 sp1):
Fit VI window to Largest Dec__ogtk.vi and the required sub vi Current VIs Parents Ref__ogtk.vi.
You should really use VIPM to get the full OpenG library - there are many gems in there.

IE and FireFox crashing when trying to play QuickTime movie

I'm on a PC running Windows 2000 and QuickTime 7. I'm trying to play some movies of my own within a browser but am experiencing problems with the browsers crashing. Sometimes, they work the first time, but after that the browsers crash. The error messages are:
Microsoft IE has encountered a problem and needs to close.
firefox.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.
I've been trying variations of the HTML code but here is the last one that actually worked the first time in FireFox but not anytime after that:

You've failed to enter a "source" for your HREF "target".
Use a complete URL to the QT file you wish the "quicktimeplayer" to "target" and your page should work as you want.

Try adding Perian. It's useful for allowing QuickTime to handle a wide variety of formats audio/video formats.
There is also Vlc which is a general video player for a wide variety of formats. But these days I am hesitant to recommend it since it was "updated" to 2.0 from 1.1.12. 1.1.12 was great and I still use it. 2.0 is not quite ready for prime time (unstable and buggy).

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

By playing a movie, are you talking a commercial DVD movie with Apple's DVD player software?
