Error Accessing Historical Database! Error Code: -1967390696 (0x8ABC0018)

Historical Database error code of 1967390696 (0x8ABC0018) message appears a few seconds after lauching my program.

What I have done so far was to uninstall all LabVIEW and other related NI modules from Windows. Edited the registry to remove any items releated to LabVIEW and then reinstalled the software. This cleared up all the DSC engine faults that I was having. However, trying to run HTV (Historical Trend Viewer) I can not change the date and time stamp on my data, it always folds back to a March, 1998 as soon as it is started up to collect data. Also when I try to export the data even though it is being displayed, there is nothing in the export file.
I have pretty much given up on 6.1, the local NI Sales Engineer is supposed to be in the next day to look at this one issue. In the mean time I'm going to use a new computer and try loading LabView to
see if the problem still exists.

I have recently started development using LabView7.1 (DSC Module). There is a nice example in the Getting Started Manual showing Real Time Trending and Historical data view. I followed the development steps but running the VI given displays the error message. Error Code 0x8AB1023: Failed to map database file to shared memory. I have attached the screenshots of the error messages. The same error messages are displayed even if I run the DSC examples. I am new to Labview so cannot really figure out the reason

Hello Nustian,
As Dennis said- LabVIEW 7.1 was released nearly ten years ago and is not supported on Windows 7; since the error you are getting appears to be related to file I/O, memory access, or a database driver, it's a good bet that something has changed in the OS that is affecting the examples you're trying to use.
If you do need to use LabVIEW 7.1 and MAX 3.1, you'll probably need to use an earlier version of Windows as well (XP SP1 or similar). The software may be operable in Windows 7 compatability mode, but this isn't a recommended or supported configuration and there are probably going to be more problems down the road.
That being said, it looks like there is at least one (quite old) help document mentioning a similar error that you might want to take a look at:

when attempting to install the groupwise gateway for microsoft exchange 7.02, i receive the following error:
error accessing domain database for selected domain. invalid or non-existant domain database.
the existing gw80 environment consists of a few sles 10 servers (mta, po, gwia, webacc) with edirectory 8.8 sp2, and an external bind dns. i've built a gateway system with the following components:
ws03sp2
ex2k3sp2
novell client 4.91sp5
c1 1.3.6h
edir88sp3
gw801 mta
can anybody share tips for getting the gateway to see the domain database? are there installation logs i can check? are there any srv records that i need to verify are manually created in the bind dns? will i need microsoft's exchange connector for novell groupwise?

Hello,
Have you checked your Universe connection to the database?
Did you create the report in Rich client on your machine and then export it? ODBC connections may be different. They need to be the same.
I am not sure what you mean regarding blank with different colors. Can you explain this a little better?

Error accessing repository database

I am trying to access my local repository database and I am receiving the error in the screen shot below. It is a SQL Server DB and I have verified that I can access the server and the database through SQL Server Management Studio. This was working about 6 weeks back when I had it originally set up and I was able to access all of the database tables. Any thoughts on what to check next?

No clue. Is the local repository corrupt? Designer is trying to get the object version of the repository that are you trying to connect. You say it was working fine. Try accessing any other local repository, or if you don't have one, create a local repo and log into designer accessing the new local repo. If that works, then I'm afraid your local repo is corrupt.

I believe there was a bug filed on this issue. A patch for this issue has been released.
I think following solaris patches address this issue for MS/CLI 122989-02, 122990-02, 122991-02, 122992-02.

i have done a system copy from production server into quality server. quality was scrapped and freshly installed with SAP then used the DB flush method to carry out the system copy. i had to change the DBS_ORA_SCHEMA in environment variables to SAP<SOURCE SID> from SAPSR3. the sap version is ECC6.0,DB is ORACLE10.2 on WIN NT.

I have searched on Google and all over this forum and none of the solutions have fixed my problem.

When I run my app locally through the Web Server that comes with ASP.Net, everything is fine, it is only when I deploy the application to the Windows 2003 Server that I get the error.
I'm using impersonation in my ASP.Net application. I have given that domain user full access to 'C:\Windows\Temp'', the export folder and even the folder where the Crystal Report resides on the Server. When I run the application on the Web Server, I actually see the ".rpt" get created in the "C:\Windows\Temp" folder but yet it still says there is a permissions error.
What is bizarre is that the code below that just sends the file to the printer automatically works:

As a last ditch effort, I granted "modify" to the Network Service Account on C:\Windows\Temp and that fixed the error.
There are two things that are troubling about this:
1) I'm impersonating a domain user in my ASP.Net application and when the PDF is created, the owner is that domain user, so I know impersonation is working. So I wonder if ASP.Net picks and chooses what account it runs under at different times?
2) It is a little scary for the Network Service Account to have this access but that people seem to be fine with it.

"Severe database error" makes it impossible to sign into Story desktop application. How can I fix?

When I open the Adobe Story desktop application and sign in, I immediately receive the following message:
"ERROR:
Sorry, your Story Free subscription does not allow access to the application in online mode. You can work in the offline mode to retrieve your files."
I want to work in offline mode, so I click "Work Offline."
Immediately after I click this, I got another error message:
"OFFLINE DATABASE ERROR - ADOBE STORY
Adobe Story has encountered a severe database error and will not be able to retrieve some of your data from your last session. You can recover rest [sic] of your data by either restoring your account to the last backup date or by synchronizing it with your online account."
I'm then given two options:
Restore to the last backup date [GRAYED OUT, because I never backed up]
Sync with my online account( Sign in required )
I choose the only option I can, then click "Continue."
This immediately cycles me back to the opening screen, "Your next great story starts here," with the options "Learn more" or "Sign in."
Every time I click "Sign in," Adobe Story repeats all the steps listed above, making it impossible for me to actually use the program, UNLESS of course I upgrade to Adobe Story Plus, which I don't intend to do.
Is there any way my account can be fixed to allow me to use the Story desktop application without all these error messages? (I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling already.)
I just started using Story, so I have no earlier projects to retrieve. Story can wipe my account clean if necessary, it doesn't matter.
However, I've run into so many problems just trying to *start* using Story that I'm really worried about this program's reliability, especially for the middle of a production. Hopefully after further testing I won't run into so many problems.

I got blank space when try to access Oracle Database Error Messages 11g release 2 pdf version. Not sure if it is because of my browser or not. I'm using firefox 6.0.2 in Slackware 13 64 linux.I do not see any PDF link for "Oracle Database 11gR2 Error Messages" Guide, only the HTML version is available.

Database error when creating a report

Hi all,
When we are creating a report with a universe based on BW, we are getting this error message:
"A database error occurred. The database error text is: An error occurred while trying to load the provider for transport sap. Failed to load library mda_sap. System error message: 0509-022 Cannot load module /Apps/BOEXI31/bobje/enterprise120/aix_rs6000/libmda_sap.so.
0509-150 Dependent module
/Apps/BOEXI31/bobje/enterprise120/aix_rs6000/librfccm.o could not be loaded.
0509-103 The module has an invalid magic number.
0509-022 Cannot load module
/Apps/BOEXI31/bobje/enterprise120/aix_rs6000/libmda_sap.so
0509-150 Dependent module
/Apps/BOEXI31/bobje/enterprise120/aix_rs6000/libmda_sap.so could not be
loaded.. (WIS 10901)"
When I test the connection of the universe in Designer, the result is ok. Also, when I create a report on Rich Client, the report is created fine.
This is the Environment details:
BusinessObjects XI 3.1 Service Pack 3 Fix Pack 3.2 (distributed installation)
Windows Server 2008 R2 (CMS)
AIX 5.3 Level 10 (Other BO services)
Integration Kit SP3 fp 3.2 installed on both servers

Database error occured

Hi,
when i try to open my webi report,tis throwing this message after i execute giving my prompt information:
"a database error occured:the database error text is - Error in MDDATASETBW.GetCellData.See RFC trace file or
SAP system log fro more details (WIS 10901) "
i checked with rfc trace ... it says error in connection and "RFCIO_ERROR_SYSERROR in abrfcpic.c"
likewise in ssytem log ,it says network prb ????
plz help me out with this .wat is the exact prb ??

It is BO 2008.my webi report has prompts,which are actually based from the BI query and not prompts created here in the
webi report.when the combinations of prompt values given has data,in the backend BI system,the report runs fine,if
no data is available in BI multiprovider,error message shoots up.this is happening both in dev and prd systems.
plz advise.
