Error accessing webpage: The Web.Page function requires scripting to be enabled in the Internet Explorer options.

I'm getting the rather cryptic error posted in the title of this question when attempting to access a
webpage with a single html table in Power Query.
I've done some searching but cannot even find reference to the error message, much less a solution.
The error implies that there is a problem with my settings in Internet Explorer, but surely Power Query is not dependent upon my IE install and settings.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Curt,
Thanks for your reply and correcting my mistaken assumption.
Do you know precisely which settings are necessary? I had most of the 'Scripts' options enabled already in IE. Too impatient to troubleshoot individually, I simply enabled everything and it is working now.
Thanks

This started in the past couple of days and occurs with all websites.
    Thank-you.

  • View/Resolution/Font is incredibly small resulting in web pages not displaying properly (Facebook) & I can not find internet tools options or compatibility view otions

I've tried different things to adjust this problem on my laptop, but nothing is working. I uninstalled firefox because this was very irritating. I just reinstalled after being away for 2months and the problem still exists. My laptop settings are for normal display and font sizes and everything is normal when I use internet explorer, but when I use firefox...everything shrinks. When I'm on facebook using apps...it gets even smaller and app screens will not display properly. There is no internet options or compatibility view settings on this new firefox that I can find and I'm out of ideas on how to fix this.

    See this: <br />

The Firefox Page Zoom feature does a domain by domain level of saving the users preferred zoom level settings, there is no default Page Zoom level setting in Firefox.

  • Ive downloaded ff4 now i cant scroll the web pages using my mouse i have to use the scroll bar why's this and can it be sorted?

i cant use the scroll function on my laptop mouse pad after i downloaded ff4. i have to use the scroll bar on the page its self

Have you looked for the file in the location as suggested by the post above mine in the linked thread?
    C:\Windows\System32\tp4table.dat
Or, if you have a Synaptics device, the file might be located in its installation folder, e.g:
    C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\tp4table.dat
If/when you find it I think the syntax should be the same. Either way; you could just change it back if something goes wrong and knowing the file name/location will let you search the internet more effectivly as this is a likely cause.

  • When visiting web page strange symbols cover the web page, happens on sites visited, have confirmed that the sited and page visited is normal on other pc.

I have scanned for malware by using Spy Bot, EST Smart Security, Microsoft security essentials and IO bit Malware Fighter. All come back clean. Have uninstalled Firefox and clean installed Firefox after reboot.
Still no change. Thank in advance for suggestions on how to fix. Note this is being sent from the 2nd PC which does not have the described issue.

    Update:
Thanks to ideato and jscher2000, the problem described appears to be solved.
My final step after updating the video driver was to go into msconfig.exe and click on Startup Tab and disable all ''non microsoft'' startup items, I did leave ESET security program to also load at startup. I then went to the General tab and clicked Selective startup.
Did a reboot and problem solved. The problem is now isolated to those startup programs which I had disabled in the msconfig program.
    Thanks again for the help

  • Everytime I go to a search engine like Bing or Google and click on the link to a website, it sends me to the wrong page. I don't have this problem with Internet Explorer, so what can I do as far as fixing the problem on Firefox?

Anytime I enter what I'm looking for in the search engine and click on a link, it goes through multiple web addresses until it takes me to an indirect page, and the first few webpages on the link that appear during the loading process are the same. I actually don't know what those websites are though.

Sounds like you have some search redirect Malware or a Rootkit.
Install, update, and run these programs in this order. They are listed in order of efficacy.<br />'''''(Not all programs detect the same Malware, so you may need to run them all to solve your problem.)''''' <br />These programs are all free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in the "free mode" - but those are features you really don't need to find and remove the problem that you have.<br />
''Note: If your Malware infection is bad enough and you are mis-directed to URL's other than what is posted, you may have to use a different PC to download these programs and use a USB stick to transfer them to the afflicted PC.''

  • I can't see the iViews or jpegs which I added into the Web Page with WPC

    Hello,
    I'm using Netweaver 2004's.
I created a Web Page in the Web Page Composer and in the Site Navigation a Navigation Node to this Web Page.
Then I added a jpg and an iView to this webpage. But I can't see this iView or this jpeg if i open the Web Page.
I'm superadministrator and i have the rights to watch this page
But if i click "Edit Page" i can see everything.
    What can be wrong ?

    Tobias -
I think Ursula is on the right track here.
I was having the same issue (not seeing iviews in the page - even in edit mode).
I think the solution (somehow) is configuring the initial permissions in the Security Zones.
The only problem is that the documentation is incorrect. The correction is in an SAP Note.
Below is the configuration (correction is bolded!):
    Documentation says:
    Defining Permissions for Security Zones
    1. Navigate to Security Zones &#8594; com.sap.nw.wpc &#8594; <b>wpc (not pagebuilder!).</b> (The documenation says com.sap.nw.pagebuilder. This is incorrect!)
    2. Define permissions for Web site owners and, if necessary, for authors.
    a. From the context menu of the medium_safety folder, choose Open Permissions.
    b. Give the wpc_editor_role role - or a user group - the permission End User.
You can leave the default entry for the Administrator column as None.
    c. Choose Reset Child Permissions.
    d. Choose Save.
    3. Define permissions for users.
    a. From the context menu of the no_safety folder, choose Open Permissions.
    b. Give the everyone group - or another user group - the permission End User.
You can leave the default entry for the Administrator column as None.
    c. Choose Reset Child Permissions.
    d. Choose Save.
I made this change, and now I can see iviews in the page.  I won't swear this is the solution, but that is the only change I have made lately.
    Hope this helps.
BTW - this <u><b><i>corrected</i></b></u> setting of the security zones corrected other problems I was having. Before I did this, a user with the WPC role - but not super admin - could not edit pages from the published page (the Edit Page link at the top of the page in runtime). Now the user can.

If you were using Apple's BootCamp and received this message, quit it and open Disk Uility in your Applicaitons/Utilities folder.
Select the Macintosh HD partition on the left and select Erase and Erase Free Space > Zero option and let it complete (important) this will check the spare space for bad sectors that can cause issues formatting partitions.
Once it's completed, try creating a partiton again in BootCamp.
If that doesn't work, then hold command option r keys down while connected to a fast internet connection, Internet Recovery should load (spinning globe) and then in that Disk Utility, select your entire internal drive and click > First Aid > Repair Disk and Permissions.
    reboot and attempt Bootcamp again.
If you still get a error, it might be that you have OS X data on the bottom area where BootCamp partition needs to go. This would occur if you had the drive or computer for a long time or wrote a large amount of files to the drive and nearly filling it up and then reduced some, but it left traces in the area BootCamp needs to go.

  • Haveing problems with Safari. It gives me an error message. Safari can't open the web page, because it can't establish a secure connection to the server. It only seams to have a problem on https sites. Any help would be apreciated.

Safari keeps giving  and error message. " Safari can't open the web page( insert web page here) , because it can't establish a secure connetion to the server.
It only seams to have a problem with https sites.
    Any help would be appreciated

The "s" in "https" indicates the site is a secure server--usually a site that will require a password.  Connections to secure servers can be blocked by parental controls.  Are you using any parental controls, either through OSX's settings (in System Preferences) or third party parental control software (such as Netnanny)?  If so, check the settings to make sure they will allow the connection.

  • Logical port error when accessing e-recruiting web pages

    Hi,
We are trying to set up our e-recruiting 3.0 and web dispatcher systems. We were receiving an error in our e-recruiting system in transaction SM20 that states “Logon Failed (Reason=34, Type=H)”.  The user is SAPSYS for client 000.  The system was attempting to log on to our web dispatcher system.  SAP suggested creating an entry in SM30, table VUSREXTID, mapping the External ID to our web dispatcher  system.  This entry helped in that we are not receiving the above error message anymore.  However, when we attempt to access the web pages we are receiving the error “Name of logical port ‘&lp_name&’ is invalid.  Prior to adding this entry we were able to access the logon page by entering the following url using an external alias (ex. https://recruiting.mphi.org/internal).  Recruiting.mphi.org is our web dispatcher system.  We do not want our e-recruiting system to be accessible from the outside.  We want everything to go through our web dispatcher.  Has anyone had a similar issue setting these up?
    Thanks!
    Heather

    Hello Heather,
I am no specialist in network infrastructure but i remember a customer setting up a web dispüatcher szenario. I also encountered this &lp_name& error from time to time during my work.
The error points towards damaged urls and the customer also encountered such problems when setting up the web dispatcher landscape. Sometimes the last parameter of the URL was ignored or lost. Sometimes the web dispatcher transformed the URL including the parameters. But as parameters are case sensitive transforming them to upper/lower result in errors as the system no longer recognizes them.
Perhaps you can check the URL with which the web dispatcher is calling the sap server to find out if it does any funny things w/ the links.
    Best Regards

  • Are we allowed to use the Web developer function in Firefox version 5.0 to edit the html source code associated with the Firefox home page?

Locking at request of OP - https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/844506
Are we allowed to use the Web developer function, under the "Firefox" tab in Firefox version 5.0, to edit the html source code associated with the Firefox version 5.0 home page ( so that we can personalize the home page )? Is this legal?
    Sincerely in Christ,
    Russell E. Willis

    Solution: (Free Download Manager)
Go here: http://codecpack.co/download/Free_Download_Manager.html and download Free Download Manager 3.8.1067 Beta 3, it works perfectly with Firefox 5.0.1
Solution: (to Google mail aka Gmail)
I have had this problem for a while since I did a previous Firefox update, where I had to force Gmail to load in Basic HTML else it's next to impossible to use it. The solution is this: simply update your Java, and Gmail will work without a problem using Standard HTML. To update your Java go here: http://www.java.com/en/ and select "Free Java Download".
And beta normally, universally, means "the not quite there yet version of the version we're aiming for" NORMALLY used during production and testing of a type of software.
