Error ae.blitpipe

Hi I have the following problem,
My After Effects CC keeps crashing when I start it off.
Error: ae.blitpipe
Do you know a solution.
My computer is good enough so all system requirements are met.

I've got the same problem.
I've got a
Dell Precision M6600 laptop with an
NVidia Quadro card (3000M)
NVidia driver version 340.52
16G memory
Windows 7 64bit SP1
using no AE plugins
I've tried every Adobe AE CC version...and none of them have worked.  I'm currently on the latest update, which is (13.0.2)
The weirdest thing is that AE will run as long as it never loses window focus.  The second I click on the task bar or minimize the window...instant crash.  The most common error message is "blitpipe error:   making new context", but occasionally will be one related to dynamic link with a path to Premiere Pro CC (whether I have Premiere Pro installed or not).
I have Quicktime installed---version 7.7.5
I've tried every possible OpenGL setting in AE.
Another weird quirk....not only did installing AE CC cause itself not to work....it also seems to have caused After Effects 5.5 to have the same issue.

In fact... last night I was working until 11pm.
This morning... it just pop ups this error every time I try to start it.
Didn´t install anything between yesterday and today.
    Today...
Uninstalled and re-installed AE. No changes at all.
Also, tried some disk rights check. No changes at all.
Also looked for updates for Mac. Everything is up to date.
In fact, don´t know what else I can do.

    LucasGeuna -
I found this action which allowed AE to get past the error message and launch:
"...(on a Mac) hold down the Command + Option + Shift keys as you start After Effects, this will allow you to delete the corrupt preference file. On a PC its Control + Alt + Shift."
After this there was a plain dialog box - "Do you want to delete corrupt Preferences File?".  I clicked Yes.  AE started up smoothly.

I hope this ends this nightmare for good.

  • Errors, including ae.blitpipe

In the studio I work in, one or more artists get the following issue:
When starting AFX an error is shown on screen:
After Effects error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was:<11156> <ae.blitpipe><2> Making new context
This is followed by a second dialog box with the following message:
After effects cannot continue: sorry, After effects has crashed. For After Effects Help and support, go to http://www.adobe.com/go/learn_ae_support. If you still can`t resolve the issue, please contact Adobe Technical support(2).
    (0 :: 42)
Then, a third dialog pops up with this message:
Before quitting, you have one chance to save your project(don`t use the same name as the original)
The artist(s) have said that this happens on opening the program on its own, but double clicking on an existing project file does not produce the result. They have also stated that it only happens on the first start up, once they reopen AFX, it is ok. While that may be true, I would rather it did not happen at all and if there is a solution, that would be great.
We are PC based at the studio, windows 7 64bit
Dell 5600 with nVidia k4000 graphics card
    Xeon processors
    lots of RAM
If possible, can I get an answer here and not a link to a FAQ page as they sometimes do not offer the resolution that is required for a particular issue.
Many thanks and keep up the great work.

We are running 11.0.2.12 (which is what it says in the about afx box under help on UI menu)
We do have identical pcs in the studio
I have not found it to be consistent across all machines and have only had a  small percentage of them recording this issue.
No crash logs at present, but can locate and forward forward them next time it occurs.

  • After Effects CC crashing on importing PSD (ae.blitpipe error message)

    Hi guys,
I hope you can help me, Adobe Support couldn't so far.
I recently installed After Effects CC on my MacBook Pro 13" (2012), 16GB RAM, Mountain Lion 10.8.4.
I cannot import PSD files into AE. Everytime I try, it crashes with the following message:
Zuletzt protokollierte Meldung: <140735306359168> <ae.blitpipe> <2> Making New Context
It doesn't matter, what kind of PSD file I try to import. But to be sure, I created a new PSD file, 1920x1080, 72 dpi, RGB, just with a background, no effects, flattened, just that single background layer. It won't import, AE always crashes.
I'm also running After Effects CS3 on that MacBook. Importing PSD files there works perfectly here.
    I tried these troubleshooting procedures:
    - trashing preferences
    - uninstalling every single Adobe Product
    - cleaning with the Creative Suite Cleaning Tool
    - Reinstalling just After Effects CC (still wont import PSD files at this stage)
    - Reinstalling Photoshop Elements 11, creating a new PSD file, still doesn't work.
I don't know what else to do right now. I want to avoid reinstalling the whole operating system because I'm working on projects at the moment (with Final Cut Pro X).
    You have an idea?

Any file, including a new WMV file. As I dsaid, this may not per se be an incompatibility with the file, just some damage in the internal structure. If you wanna play it safe, convert it to an image sequence.

  • My Script Crashes After Effects - Blitpipe Error

    Hi,
I have written a script for After Effects that opens a Dialog Window. It works fine the first time, but when I try a second time, it crashes with the following error. There's a lot going on with the script, so I'm not sure which part of the script is crashing After Effects. Does this error message give any indication of what it could be?
One other detail - it doesn't happen with my PC, but it is happening on my Mac.
    Thank you.

We will probably need a bit more information. What OS are you using along with the rest of your system specs.

What are you hoping for AE to do with that graphics card? Other than a few, certain third-party effects, After Effects doesn't use the GPU for much. See here: GPU (CUDA, OpenGL) features in After Effects
The only thing AE really uses the GPU for is acceleration of the ray-traced renderer. However, that is an obsolete feature. There are much better ways to do 3d in AE that render faster and are much more powerful.

  • Blitpipe Disengaged

Error message on Mac After Effects CC2014. I've seen other threads but wondering if this can be explained in layperson's terms and if there is troubleshooting to prevent?

    Thanks?
I'm just someone that makes a living using the tool so i have no idea how to process your assessement "hardware acceleration for graphics or decoding footage is not available/not functioning"
Does this mean something is wrong with hardware not software?
If you are willing to try again, I'll try again. I know you don't usually provide any insight on the Mac side so I'll leave those details out. But if you think that may help with an informed answer. MacPro 5,1, OSX10.8.5, NVIDIA GTX780, Mac has 96GB of ram and a 3.46 GHZ 12CORE processor.

Thank you if you think there's some troubleshooting I can do to try to resolve the problem. If you don't think you have any insight then I appreciate the read.

  • Trial Version: Crash in progress. Last logged message was ae.blitpipe

I've downloaded and installed the trial version of AE CS4. The program installs fine and it starts up but when I try to import a video file (i've tried many many different formats) it crashes.
I then updated the program using the "update" option from the help menu and it updated to 9.2. Hoping that would fix things i still get the same message. This is what I get:
    After Effects Error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was: <3668> <ae.blitpipe> <2> rect:24.00000000 I:0.0000000 w:742.0000000 h:520.0000000
So far I've tried disabling all antivirus, services running in the background
    Disabled mutliprocessor
    Disabled opengl support
Uninstalled ALL codecs on the PC.
    Updated the video drivers
    My PC specs are:
    Processor: Q6600 2.4mhz
    RAM: 4gb
Graphics: Geforce 9800gt with the latest Nvidia drivers.
I've tried for many many hours (probably around 6-7!!) to get this working but I have had no luck. I've read on forums about other people having similar issues (concerning ae.blitpipe, whatever that is) so I'm not alone. I've not seen any solutions to this problem so I'm posting a thread here.
I also had problems installing the program in the first place. I had to uninstall AIR, Acrobat reader and Flash, then run a few cleaning programs before I could get it to install properly.
I've heard so many great things about AE's capabilitites and wanted to check it out, but not sure I want to fork out £1000 for a program which is this fragile.
So does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem except I get the error and crash right when the interface loads.
I've had CS4 since it was released and have never had a problem.

Something interesting: Lastnight I updated my NVIDIA drivers to the latest 191.07 and everything worked great. But then this morning when I launched AE again, same error.
    Things I've tried:
Shift+Ctrl+Alt + double click on AE icon
    Uninstalled Quicktime
    Reinstalled Quicktime
    Reinstalled NVIDIA 191.07 drivers
Uninstalled Magic Bullet Mojo trial for Premiere
    Removed the AE_OpenGL.AEX file from C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS4\Support Files\Plug-ins\Extensions
Deleted Workspace files from C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\After Effects\9.0
    Created new Windows user
    Cried for a little bit
Unpluged all USB devices: Wacom Tablet, USB mic, etc.
Killed as many running processes as possible
Played with settings in the NVIDIA control panel taliored to AE
So the only thing else I can think of right now is to install SP2. I can't do that right now but if anyone can verify that it'll for sure work, I'll try it.
Is the 9800 GTX on the list of GPUs for AE? Doesn't it fall under the 9 Series?
I'm open to all suggestions. Thanks!

  • 4256 ae.blitpipe 2 Making New context

    need help for this problem
crash in progress last logged message was <4256><ae.blitpipe><2>Making New context

I have two units with same hardware specs and same drivers but the other working properly but the other is not and displaying error message.

  • After Effects error: Crash in progress

I 've jost got "After Effects error: Crash in progress.  Last logged message was <2160> <ae.blitpipe> <2> rect t:0.000000 I:0.0000000 w:1374.00000 h:533.00000
This was rendering a 4K video (4096x2304) with H264 compression.  I think I had around a GB of free virtual memory.  Is it just that it needs more memory - do I just need to increase the virutal memory - would increasing it by a GB or so fix it?  It's currently 3616 MB.
    Current PC:
    After Effects CS4
    Windows Vista
    4 GB RAM
3616 MB page file (according to performance options).

Is it just that it needs more memory - do I just need to increase the virutal memory - would increasing it by a GB or so fix it?
No. Not at all. The error is prety clear, actually:
    w:1374.00000 h:533.00000
These are not valid dimensions for any MPEG-based output, since they need to be multiples of 2,4,8,16 and so on. Now I'm sure you set up the actual render correctly, but that info is coming from somewhere, so check if not a specific plug-in is causing this or your source footage may be damaged...

  • After Effects Installation error: Invalid Type Context

I am currently working with Creative Cloud CS6 After Effects on a Windows 7 Toshiba Satellite, Core i3. I've been having trouble opening the program suddenly. I thought it might be due to a plug in which I had been trying to get working with both my After Effects and Premier (which works fine btw) to use to read a specific video coversion file (AVS). It didn't ever work so I unistalled all the plug ins I could find, uninstalled After Effects and reinstalled it. Then I started getting the error "Invalid type context" and AE would crash. I've uninstalled and re-installed twice and still cannot get AE past this error.
Edit: Got a chance to write dow the info message after the error:
"After Effects error: Crash in Progress. Last logged message was: <1588> <ae.blitpipe> <2> Making new context"
I've looked for help in the FAQ and also done a couple searches in the forums, but found no topics about this type of error. Any thoughts?

    1. I've uninstalled all files pertaining to AVS conversion from my computer.
    2. I've given After effects full permissions through my windows firewall and McAffe too.
    3. I've reinstalled twice since my first post.
    4. I've stopped Adobe QT32 from running while AE loads.
    5. I've run the program as an administrator and tried running it configured for Vista OS.
    6. I've removed all preferences and cannot find any folder for AE preferences in my AppData folder.
I'm still unable to keep the program from crashing as it initializes the user interface (farther along than before). I'm still getting the Invalid Type Context file. It brings up a save project option, which I haven't tried as I haven't gotten far enough along in AE to have any work to save.
I did get this detail report in an attempt to diagnose the problem:
      C:\Users\Darci\AppData\Local\Temp\WER3C3.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml
      C:\Users\Darci\AppData\Local\Temp\WER2104.tmp.appcompat.txt
      C:\Users\Darci\AppData\Local\Temp\WER2EBB.tmp.mdmp
I really need help as I'm at the end of all possible suggestions for this type of problem.
