Error After effects quicktime Render

Hello
I am facing a problem rendering in After Effects CS5.
This is my computer :
- Windows 7 Pro 64bit
- Processor: Intel Xeon E5 2660 V2 - 20CPU
- 32GB Ram
- CG: Nvidia GTX 780 TI
My problem:
I'm working on a movie with a green screen sequences in .mov, animation codec. When I start rendering, it runs for a few pictures and then the error:
Error made in the background. Rendering in the foreground will be activated after 229 images out of 486 (26 § 142)
After Effects (Error) Error (4) when reading image from file D: \ ****** \ Sequences \ TV_Sequence-3a6.mov. (86 § 2)
After Effects (error): Keylight out of memory. (4) (25 § 241)
I tried a lot of manipulation:
- Checking "using the OpenGL" and it works but the rendering time is multiplied by 10 if not more.
- By changing the format of the green screen sequences (wmv, mp4, avi) and it works. So it's really a .mov problematic.
- By activating or not, the hyperthreading and it crashes.
- By testing a render without movie inside the comp and it works
So I think it comes from Quicktime and the number of processor cores, but how to solve this problem? : s
I already check this link : troubleshooting QuickTime errors with After Effects CS5, CS5.5, CS6, and CC | After Effects region of interest  but it doesn't works
Thank you for your help
(sorry for my english)

The QuickTime version is 7.7.5.
With my old machine, it worked perfectly.
I can make a render in .mov (animation, h.264, etc ) with no .mov in my comp but if there is, after effects gives me an error ...
Thanks for your reply

  • Quicktime errors after effects cc2014

i've been getting quicktime errors in after effects cc14, windows 8.1, update 1. when importing a quicktime file that opens and plays in vlc, and quicktime player, i'm getting the error "After Effects error: file 'xxx.mov" cannot be imported this .mov file is damaged or unsupported. i've uninstalled quicktime and reinstalled to no avail.

Does AE CC work? (I mean, you're using version 13. Does version 12 work?)
Have you tried the suggestions here: fixing permissions problem that impedes start of Adobe applications and here: troubleshooting QuickTime errors with After Effects ?

  • After Effect Network Render Error.

    Hi Everyone,
I tryed the network render with use After Effect.
I use the Pipelinefx Qube 6.5 for to take a render.
After checking the logs I found out that its trying to run the following command:
    cmdline : "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS6\Support Files\aerender.exe" -project "\\nas-srv-1\vol_0_1\

So I try to execute this command on console manualy. I got license error. Then followed the procedure created necessary ae_render_only_node text files in document. I tryed the render command again and I have no longer the license error but a different error :

How can we fix this problem?
    Thank you.
    Ozan.

Have you tried mapping your NAS to a drive letter? Also for network volumes you can use UNC notation (forward slashes). I suspect that this is more of a generic issue where Windows doesn't resolve the network path to proper folder locations. It might also help to avoid dashes and numbers in the path names. Could be misinterpreted as aprt of the command string...

  • After Effects Minimized Render Crash?

I am experiencing a very annoying issue pertaining to After Effects CS 5.5. I recently purchased the product (Production Premium CS5) and installed it on PC only to encounter a strange error. Whenever I do a preview render (pressing 0) and then minimize I then see the number of frames being rendered in the minimized window (this is normal). However, upon clicking the minimized window to reopen it After Effects crashes immediately with the error: After Effects error: "Crash in Progress.Lastlogged message was : <4924><ImporterMPEG><1>Error_printf:No Video Available". After effects gives me the option to save my work and notifies me to contact the Adobe Technical Support Center. I recently purchased this product I am disappointed that I cannot minimize the program while rendering, the program did not do this immediately, it started doing this a couple of days after I started using it.
I have already tried uninstalling after effects and reinstalling and i get the same error everytime.
    My PC Specs:
    8GB RAM
AMD 1100T Sixcore 3.3 Ghz processor
GTX 275 graphics card performance edition
Is there something I'm missing? Please Help me resolve this issue, After Effects is a good product.

It usually crashes with this log message:
"Crash in Progress.Lastlogged message was : <4924><ImporterMPEG><1>Error_printf:No Video Available"
I never changed anything with my system when this error occurred nor did I install a new driver, I didn't even install a new program or do any system changes.
I have OpenGL disabled but I get this crash with it on or off. I have even tried rendering a project where all I had was a square with keyframed position but I still get the same rendering crash/error when I minimize the window, therefore I don't think its an effect causing it or OpenGL.
    Any Ideas?

  • Error: After Effect cannot open becaujse TBB.dll is missing

Hi, I had a problem with AECC when trying to open it it said the error: After Effect cannot open becaujse TBB.dll is missing from you computer. Please Reinstall. I thought "ok, if I only reinstall it it is not a problem" but I came to another problem: How do I uninstall it? It does not show up in the control panel and on the CC Manager it says it is up to date.

    This not an answer.
Mylenium's answer is a good one. Granted, you might not like the answer, but it is an answer that will solve your problem.
Here's how to uninstall through the Creative Cloud software: Creative Cloud Help | Uninstall Apps
That might fix AE, however, it sounds from your posts that Photoshop isn't working either, but your post isn't very clear. You say something about Fireworks too...
More info about your specific setup might be useful.
Again, it sounds like something got corrupted on your machine, so uninstalling all your software, running the CC Cleaner tool, and reinstalling is a pretty good suggestion if the regular uninstall/reinstall doesn't work.
    helpless2014 wrote:
and why are there more than one version offered for install at the same time??
For troubleshooting, for client compatibility, for workflow requirements, and for many other reasons. On my home machine I have AE CS5, CS6, CC, and CC 2014 all installed and am happy that I can download and install older versions of other Adobe software if I need them too.

  • "Match Legacy After Effects QuickTime Gamma Adjustments" option for Premiere?

Does Premiere CS6 offer an option similar to After Effect CS6's "Match Legacy After Effects QuickTime Gamma Adjustments" option?
Working with 5K .r3d files in my Premiere timeline and all exports from Premiere using the Animation codec and opened in QuickTime Player X appear too bright.
    Thanks in advance!

No, PrPro doesn't offer similar option, and if it were, it would hardly be a proper solution. Better option is to establish proper colour management workflow. On Windows that simply means disabling crooked QuirkTime or any other media player built-in colour management via e.g. GPU control panel. I'm not on a Mac and don't know how to establish proper colour management there. Check if this Apple help section can give you some clue.

  • After Effects CC Render Error H.264

    Win 7x64
Adobe After Effects CC 2014 13.0.2
    QuickTime Pro 7.7.6 installed
I'm IT. Not a day to day user of CC Products.
I have a client (Uni) that is having trouble rendering in After Effects H.264 with complex renders. Basic 'simple, single image' renders work without issue. And the error output is set to 'errors only'  yet nothing spits out. Users are Standard Users.
Where is a jumping off point to decipher what is breaking?

    That's nice.
But from your initial query, it's difficult to know whether this person is importing h.264 footage or trying to render h.264 footage.  H.264 footage used in AE can cause problems with certain effects, and it is NEVER a good idea to render to h.264.
So this could be an operator error rather than a system error.
So I tell you what, Mr. IT Guy -- go buttonhole this person, put your heads together, and answer the litany of diagnostic questions you'll find here:
FAQ: What information should I provide when asking a question on this forum?
Between the two of you, you'll have a much better chance of coming to the root of the problem... but separately?  That's a crap shoot.

  • After Effects CS6 render error - grey artifacts

    Hi there,
    I was wondering if someone could help me? I am rendering out a video in After Effects using H.264 codec, High 5.0 Profile at CBR 5 and 25fps. However, on all occassions and with all videos, not just this one, when the video renders, many frames appear grey (see below);
I have tried rendering it out at various levels of quality, both CBR and VBR, and even using Adobe Encoder also, and the problem still persists. It is not always in the same place also and appears randomly. I was wondering if anyone else had come across this problem and had a solution?
I have re-sintalled the Adboe Suite on several occasion to try and counteract this, but again, the problem presists.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Ollie

It appears you are viewing your footage in Quicktime X, which in itself is not particulalrly sensible. Use the "classic" Quicktime 7 If it's okay there, then the file will work. Other than that this could be something with your source footage, your media cache, whatever. We cannot know. You are not nearly providing half enough info, so we end up guessing around. Also simply render to another CoDec and do the actual conversion in Adobe Media Encoder.

  • After Effects CC Render Errors with RED footage and ProRes 4444 proxies

Working on an 8 Core, 2008 Mac Pro with 16GB of RAM running Mountain Lion.
I just upgraded to After Effects CC and I'm having a whole bunch of errors ...
-- the 'MooV' file is damaged or unsupported
    -- error getting package info for file "..." ( 3 :: 164 )
    -- Error (4) reading frame from file "..." ( 86 :: 2 )
I'm trying to make ProRes 4444 proxies from RED files (sometimes as big as 4K), which will eventually end up in a 1920x1080 project. I'll make a 4444 proxy, work on it all day with no problems, then when I try to render (or save a RAM preview) any one of the previous errors will show up.
My projects seemed to work just fine fine in AE CS6, and I've worked with RED footage in AE before with little issue. I've completly restarted my system, re-installed everything, worked off an external drive, worked on my internal (software) RAID, rendered to local and external hard drives, adjusted my multiprocesser render settings (on and off), cleared the cache ... nothing is fixing it.
Does anybody else have any ideas? Or insight. Or anything?!
    Thanks for your time,
    Eliot

I'm working on a MacbookPro, Early 2013, OS X 10.8.4, and I'm having the same exact error:
However instead of using RED footage, I'm using a 3rd party plugin called Element 3D and Optical Flares from VideoCopilet.net.
I'm not sure if the bug is related, I'm just wondering if anyone else has any idea on how to fix this problem. I have a fresh install of CC so I can't downgrade to CS6.
Another error popped up during multiple trys in export:
In case the old file was actually corrupted, I checked all my backups that worked perfectly fine with CS6 in the past, and I get the same error when I copy them over to my hard drive on my mac.
    My current setup is:
Processor: 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory: 16GB
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
I really don't want to recreate this entire file from scratch. That would be a lot of hours wasted... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • After Effects wont render full res - possible RAM issue?

Not sure if this has ever come up before - I'm unable to render out of after effects and RAM preview half res. When I try and RAM preview the comp just goes black and when I send it to render I get the following message:
After Effects warning: Logged one error - "error Rendering while writing to file. An output module failed. The file may be damaged or corrupted(-1610153464)"
I'm able to RAM preview half res okay, and can render out half res as well. I've tried it with rendering multiple frames simultaneously on and off, clearing the disk cache and turning off any RAM hogging effects.
An obvious cause I've identified is that I've recently upgraded and replaced the RAM on my machine, however, after effects has been the only software effected. Cinema 4D renders no problems and I've had no other problems with the general running of my machine.
Have there ever been any cases before of After Effects not working with certain types of RAM?
    My set up -
    Mac Pro - Early 2008
    OSX Mavericks 20.9.2
    2 x 2.8 Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    16GB 800MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
    250GB Samsung SSD

I'm running After Effects CC 12.2.1.5
Sorry should have mentioned, no matter what format I render as, whether it be QT or TIFF sequence, I still get the exact same error.
QT version i'm using is 7.6.6
In terms of reproducing the error, it seems to happen to pretty much anything I try and render, unless it's an extremely simple one layer comp. Rendering a comp with 2 image sequence layers (1920 x 1080) will cause this to happen, but if there's just the one image sequence alone in the comp (and no other layers) then it will render.

  • After Effects 3d Render

I am trying to render my 3d text in after effects cs6 but when I click render, suddenly after effects starts using up 90% of my cpu which causes my computer to crash with an incomplete render. I have set my ray traced renderer quality to as low as 3 but that has not affected this at all. Any ideas???

    a) You are not using the latest 11.0.4 update
    b) ATI cards generally don't support CUDA and thus not the 3D renderer
    c) You are running on Win 8.1, which introduced a number of compatibility issues with all Adobe apps.
So at best your stuff will run on the CPU, but judging from your error message, there is a driver issue here. Could be something with the power management of your i7. Could of course be a million other things, but without seeing the detailed crash info nobodfy can be more specifc. Apply the AE update, check your device manager for flakey or missing drivers, dabble with the compatibility settings and perhaps security stuff in Windows and even check your CPU configuration in the BIOS/ EFI...

  • After Effects CS6 - render files huge!

Ok I am tying myself in knots here.
I have a 7 second text animation on a plain background in After Effects CS6 which I want to export so I can use it in Premiere Pro CS6 withan alpha channel so i can superimpose it over video. The file is 1080P 25 because that matches my video. the first time I rendered it it came out at 89Mb which was fine. But I wanted to tweak the text positioning so I did that - now every time I render the file is around 1.5Gb!
I am using Windows so i can't render Quicktime with an alpha channel which means I have to use avi but what settings should I use? (Avi is the only format which allows me to export RGB + alpha).
I have to say that I have used many video programs in my life but I find After Effects the single most unituitive piece of software I have ever encountered. Why can't it give you an indication of how big your render file is likely to be to gvie youa t least some clue as to what settings to use?

    See this:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/684381
Start here to learn After Effects:
    http://adobe.ly/AE_basics
    > I am using Windows so i can't render Quicktime with an alpha channel
    That is not correct.
You can install QuickTime on Windows and use QuickTime for output from After Effects.

  • After Effects CS6 render-only: Custom output modules?

With After Effects CS5.5, we've been able to include custom output module templates (so, aside from the default Lossless, TIFF Sequence with Alpha, etc.).  We're having trouble doing the same with CS6.  Is there any way to make this work?

this explains what we are trying to use, non-royalty-bearing mode.
    http://blogs.adobe.com/aftereffects/2012/06/codecs-and-the-render-engine-in-after-effects- cs6.html
please understand we are using a render queue to remotely execute aerender from the commandline.
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/aftereffects/cs/using/WS3878526689cb91655866c1103a4f2dff7-79a3 a.html
this is the command that is entered:
    "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS6\Support Files\aerender.exe" -project "\\nas3\graphics\jobs\13912_SHIELD\cmp\BB\BB_CS6_Test2\BB_CS6_Test2.aep" -comp "HeroComp" -output "\\nas3\graphics\jobs\13912_SHIELD\images\BB\BB_CS6_Test2\BB_CS6_Test2.[####].sgi"   -v "ERRORS_AND_PROGRESS" -RStemplate "Full" -OMtemplate "SGI_Premultiplied" -s 11 -e 20
if we place ae_render_only_node.txt into the appropriate folder this is the error that is generated:
    has video RAM(MB): 0
    aerender version 11.0x378
PROGRESS: Adding specified comp to Render Queue
aerender ERROR: No output module template was found with the given name.
    LoadLibrary "n" failed!
    LoadLibrary "n" failed!
if we register the software aerender correctly renders the frames.
note: the sgi file format does not have codec licensing restrictions such as mpeg2.

  • How do I get after effects to render with my GPU?

Yea, really noob question, but I can't figure it out!
Spent literally HOURS trying to find how to do this..  Use my GTX 670 to render instad of CPU.  Can't figure it out.  I finally (I think) figured out where to change the setting to raytraced rendering, but it still REFUSES to use it.  I can't work like this!  Countless hours to render a 4 min video with an i7?  I am checking with a  hardware monitor, and my GPU isn't getting used.
I don't have the time (or inclination) to watch hours and hours of tutorial videos.  I am the type of person that uses templates and modifies them to my needs/desires, so pointing me to a "generic" after effect tutorial website will do no good.
Now, I only mention this to show that I don't come running for help every time I have a small problem, and refuse to try and find the answer myself.  I have myself learned how to edit text, make it appear and disappear.  Slow down and speed up an entire composition and much much more all by using google.  But I obviously can't get the wording right with google because I can't find a solution.

You cannot enforce GPU raytracing if your card is not supported and that is that. If adding the card to the raytracer_supported_cards.txt file and updating the graphics driver doesn't do it, then nothing will. You are using dead technology, anyway.

  • "Adobe After Effects CS5 Render Issues"!

    Hey guys
I currently just downloaded the free trial of "Adobe After Effects CS5" and I am wanting to render some video which I added some colour correction to.
When I put this in the render queue and press render is says "You mus have at lease on render item queued in order to render". Also it says on status "Needs output"
How come this is happening, do I need to buy the full vision.
    Cheers

You haven't specified the output location or name. After Effects is telling you to do that.
    Follow the instructions here.
I strongly recommend beginning here if you're new to After Effects:
