Error "all tv tuners are currently in use"

Hi, I'm running 8.1 pro with media centre, using a known brand card, i cannot type it here as it comes up as a link, which microsoft wont allow, its a dual satellite tuner from tbs the model is 6981, with latest windows 8 drivers for that card.
However, if I'm recording a HD channel, I cannot seem to watch another hd channel at the same time, I can watch non hd channels, when a HD channel is recording. I get this message, all available tuners are currently in use (to which i can stop the recording)
I see there is a hotfix for this for W7 ultimate, which i tried for 8.1 but received an error message. Its a dual tuner!
So far,
1. I cannot record HD AND watch HD at same time.
2. If I want to record a non HD channel, and watch a HD channel at the same time, If have to be on a HD channel first, then press record on the non-HD channel. If press record on the non-HD channel first,
then go to a HD channel (second), i get the conflict issue, but not the other way around.
I have just noticed in edit sources for the HD channels, only one source is available, there should be two, I am not able to split the source, so perhaps my issue is this?
The tuner is working properly.
I also use EPG collector to load the data into MCE8, ive been on that forum, and im assured by the maker of that program, that its nothing to do with EPG collector.
Any ideas?
My specs:8.1 pro with MCE 8

Hi,
Did you mean that, this TV tuner support two tuner at the same time when you using WMC watching TV?
According to the contents about WMC below:
With a single TV tuner connected to your computer, you can watch or record live TV in Media Center on only one channel at a time. With two TV tuners or a dual-tuner device connected to your computer, you can do the following:
Watch live TV on one channel while recording a show on a different channel.
Record two different TV shows that are on two different channels at the same time.
Watch a previously recorded show and record live shows on two different channels at the same time.
Note: you can access to the link below for more details about:
What should I know before adding TV tuners to use with Windows Media Center?
In my opinion, it should be the TV tunner card problem, it would be better to contact its support for further assistance about this problem.

  • I can't install on uninstall iTunes on my laptop; running Windows XP.  I've tried all the steps in Apple Support as well as Windows support.  Can anyone help?  I fet the error "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable

I can't install or uninstall iTunes on my laptop.  I've followed all the steps on Apple Support as well as Microsoft support.  I get the error "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.  Pick an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi".  This has been going on for a couple of weeks now and I'm very frustrated.  From what I can see, I'm not the only one with this problem, but I have yet to see anyone post a solution that works.  Microsoft wants to charge me $99 to troubleshoot it for me and Apple will charge $20.  I think both are ridiculous as this is obviously not "operator error".

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • "Some files that need to be updadted are currently in use."

I have Windows Vista, and iTunes has not been working on my computer for a few months now. I was hoping this new version (7.4 the latest one) would finally be able to run. Unfortunately, when I run the installer, I get a window that says this:
"Some files that need to be updated are currently in use."
"The following applications are using files that need to be updated by the installer. Close these applications and click Retry to continue"
    "Windows Explorer (Process ID: 2440)"
How should I deal with this? And what if I still get the "iTunes has stopped working" message if I do manage to install it? Thanks for trying to help!

Sorry to bump up an old thred.
I too ran into the same error. It was the vagueness of the error message which surprised me.
What I used Unlocker [http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/] on the folder "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0", it showed some 6 to 7 files in use by the Windows Search Indexer.
I unlocked all the files and was able to update Adobe Reader.

  • 9.2.0 Upgrade (CPSID_50026) "Files in Use" - "Some files that need to be updated are currently in use" "Program Manager"

I have no other applications open, when I try to update with 9.2.0, but I receive subject error message.  Task Manager shows NO Image Name called "Program Manager".  There is nothing else running, that is obvious to shut down.  Any suggestions, Please?
    rick

Have these posted suggestions worked for anyone?  I have been using the same installation files on several different machines.  Most machines upgrade just fine but, I have a few that receive this error and I cannot seem to get past it:  "Some files that need to be updated are currently in use"  "Program Manager" is the program that the installer is complaining about.  Does anyone know what program "Program Manager" is?  I'm assuming it is an Adobe file but, why would it interfere with one of my installations and not all of them?
I'm using the same installation files for all installs so, I don't believe that it could be my downloaded installation setup files.
Thanks so much in advance for your assistance --

  • I am trying to remove itunes and I am getting the following error,"the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" How do I go about uninstalling?

I am trying to update to iTunes 10.5.  I keep getting the following error, " The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable"  How do I proceed to uninstall iTunes?

    Many thanks.
Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Essbase Error 1013206 - SetActive Commands are Currently Not Being Accepted

    Hi All,
I am facing the below error very frequently which is causing the disabling the "Enable connects"on the respective application. It is not happening for all the scheduled processes, just BETWEEN the last cube build or first cube build of the day.
In Essbase.log server logs observered as below:

Error 1013206 processing request [MaxL: Execute] - disconnecting
Please suggest as It is happening repetedly andcausing the Down time.

    Is it possible that you've issued the command: alter application disable connects ;
That would cause MaxL to send back that message.
    Per the docs:
Prevent any user with a permission lower than Application Managers from making connections to the databases that require the databases to be started. This includes starting the databases or performing the ESSCMD SELECT command on the databases. Database connections remain disabled for all databases in the application, until the application setting is re-enabled by the administrator.Link: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/esb_tech_ref/maxl_altapp.html
Is it possible that you issue that command and then try to do things with a username that doesn't have App Manager or higher rights?

  • UCCX- 7.x how many licenses are currently in use?

Is there a way to tell how many licenses are currently in use?  Real Time Reporting shows just agents logged in and not supervisors, correct.  Is there a way to see how many users are currently logged in if supervisors do not log in as agents? Also, we need to include Historical Reports log ins as well.

Hi, you can try using the showlicenseusage tool added in UCCX 7.0.
The command is called showlicenseusage.exe and is found in C:\Program Files\Cisco\Desktop\Bin folder. Just open a command window, CD to this path
    and type the command "showlicenseusage.exe".

I had previously purchased 56 songs, over a year ago. Tonight I purchased 22 more. It seems that I am being charged for all 78 that are currently in the library. How can this be stopped?

I doubt that this is happening.  Why do you think that you are being charged for all 78?
    Did you buy them again?
You only buy one download, so if you downloaded them again you would have to pay again.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page).
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
Here's a screenshot showing the particular links on the page that you should be clicking:
After clicking one of the circled links, you should be taken to another page, and after a few seconds you should see a download dialog appear for the msicuu2.exe file. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like for me in Firefox:
Choose to Save the file. If the dialog box does not appear for you, click the link on the page that says "CLICK HERE IF IT DOES NOT". Here's a screenshot of the page with the relevant link circled:
When the dialog appears, choose to save the file.
    (2) Go to the Downloads area for your Web browser. Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. • Creating/loading an iTunes library (.itl) on a network drive results in dummy error "The Disk you are attempting to use is full" [Win7]

I  have an 2TB external HDD attatched to my Asus router.  I have iTunes installed on 3 computers in the house (Bedroom, home theater, bar). Each copy of  iTunes accesses the same music folder on the external hard drive.
The problem is that iTunes creates a library file on each individual computer.  The library file gets out of sync all the time (as computer 1 doesn't know when files have been added via computer 2 and so on).
Obviously the answer is to just put the Library.itl file on the same network drive.  Hoilding shift whille double clicking the iTunes icon allows you to create or load a library from the location of your choosing.
All well and good so far.  However, when I attempt to save to my Network Attached storage Device (NAS) iTunes gives me the "The Disk you are attempting to use is full. Please delete..." error.  (There is over 1TB free on the drive.)
Creating the library file on a local HDD, moving it to the network one, and demanding iTunes access it via option start results in the SAME ERROR!!!
I'd really rather not rescan my entire library everytime I start iTunes.  Adding new purchases and songs via the "Automatically add to iTunes" folder, again, only adds the files to the database file saved on the computer where the files were dragged and dropped from.
I've used windows to "Map" the network drive, as well as typed in the \\192.168 etc address of the network drive.  Always get the same error.
Any help or thoughts would be greatly apperciated.

Also, tried this with itunes 10 (current build) iTunes 9.2.1, and itunes 8. Same issue.
