Error: AppHangB1 on CS1 v.8.0

I've been using this product for a few years and only a few months ago I re-installed it on Windows 7 and a few days ago I closed it and it stopped working right when it says "Scanning for Plug-Ins".  I haven't changed anything with the product.  While I had it installed on the D-drive (The C and D got mixed up) it hadn't had a problem until a few days after continually hearing that the C: drive was full (leading to mass deletions of unused programs and files).  Just today I had fixed the problem of the drives and the program had the same problem.  I've tried the multiprocessor plug-in, uninstalling and reinstalling it, and scoured the internet forums for answers but I've had nothing.  There are only a few oddities I can say happened during the reinstallation, it was unable to activate.

I really appreciate the time, thank you and I'm eager to hear your advice.

You really should install the updates to Photoshop CS.
Also, CS is quite a bit older than Windows 7, and might run into some problems on the newer OS.

    Hi Flamario,
    Did the issue persists? Based on my test, I can connect to SQL database with SQL Server 2014 CTP2 SSMS (11.0.9206). For further analysis, please post the complete application error in the Event Viewer.
    Can you connect to on-premise SQL Server instance with SSMS 2014? If the issue reproduce, this may be related to the SSMS rather than the SQL Database connected to. You can try to reinstall SSMS as Mike post above.

  • Keyboard class help

    I downloaded the cs1.keyboard class file, and i tried to put it a few different folders. I gave me an error that the cs1 class didn't exist, where do i have to put it in verson 1.4

    I'm pretty certain that cs1.keyboard is some non-standard thing written for a book or a class.
    You should probably ask the author.
    Anyway, to use it you'd have to add an import statement to your code, and to add this class to your classpath.

  • AppHangB1 error with Illustrator CS5

    Hello, I'm currently still using CS5 and considering upgrading to the latest CC version.  With my CS5 Illustrator I'm having an AppHangB1 error that is preventing me from launching the program.  I'm concerned that if I upgrade the software I'll still have this issue.  If anyone knows anything about this error code please let me know.  I need to get back and running but don't want to waste time and money.
    Thanks,
    Will

    Will,
    If no one comes up with anything brighter, you may try the list.
    The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file, and when it is not caused by issues with opening a file from external media. You may have tried/done some of them already; 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
    If possible/applicable, you should save current artwork first, of course.
    1) Close down Illy and open again;
    2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
    3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
    4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible), for CS3 - CC you may find the folder here:
    https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/preference-file-location-illustrator.html
    5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
    Even more seriously, you may:
    6) Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences), run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

  • AppHangB1 Error Adobe CS5.1

    I've been having an intermittent problem with Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 Extended and getting an AppHangB1 error off and on for about 3 weeks. I've seen this in other threads, but none of the solutions helped. It doesn't happen when I click on anything anymore (it used to happen when clicking on the text tool) and occurs right after it loads. Here is the error message it gives me:

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program and after working for about 2 weeks, it's come back. It was working great Wednesday and it stopped working this morning when I turned off my system. It has absolutely derailed all my projects.
    I did notice that on the front page of the discussons page there was a disclaimer saying that the current version of CS5 was 12.0.0.4 but I'm currently running 12.1.0.0
    Thank you in advance for all your help.

    See the signs for what they are: You have rubbish fonts on your system. If it happened with teh text tool it may no simply have degenerated to a point where it does happen right away because some system font is affected as well. Straighten out yopur fonts, trash the prefs, try again.

  • INSTALLATION ERROR WITH CREATIVE SUITE CS1

    I'm trying to resolve a problem with installing Adobe CS1. I've had to
    re-install OSX 10.3 and upgrade to 10.3.9, and now find that when i install Creative Suite 1 it seemingly installs ok, then doesn't open up when you try to open the application and quits out immediately with the error mesage. I've had it working no problems when i first installed it (this was on 10.2.8 before i upgraded to 10.3) and then ok on 10.3.9, until i've had to re-install OSX 10.3 again and now it won't install at all!
    I'm not Mr Technical whe it comes to the ins and out of Macs (i'm a designer, dont laugh!!) but some pointers as to what might be the problem would be greatly appreciated.
    I've read through some of the questions here similar to this problem, and was hoping that someone had found a definitive solution to this problem with CS1!
    Thanks...

  • CS1, CS2, CS3 Animated Gif Creation Error.

    Example: http://img365.imageshack.us/img365/5665/walksz2.gif
    Whenever I made an animated gif with a transparent background, the above happens. It doesn't hide the previous frame when drawing the next one. However, when I give it a non-transparent background, it is still fine - http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/8080/walklk4.gif
    How can I fix this? This happens in Photoshop CS1, CS2, and CS3.

  • Saved Tiffs will not open in CS2 and generate a "Could not complete your request because of a program error".

    this was supplied by Ann Shelbourne.
    Saved Tiffs will not open in CS2 and generate a "Could not complete your request because of a program error".
    These files will often open in Photoshop 7.0.1 or in CS1 but not in CS2.
    The trouble may be caused by bad dates in the EXIF data and can originate from an incorrectly-programmed digital camera; or from a scan that was created after after Jan1 of this year (because of a known bug in some scanner software).
    If someone runs into the "Could not complete your request because of a program error" problem, and does not have CS1, try opening the Tiff in TextEdit.
    The EXIF data is right at the top. Check the EXIF data for bad creation dates and change any incorrect ones there.
    Save and close; and then the file will probably open in CS2 without a murmur.

    > If iPhoto causes problems why not open the images from the Finder?
    I get the error if I open a file from within iPhoto using "OPen in external editor" and then alter it (or do not alter it) and try to save it over itself, or save it anywhere else.
    I get the error if I do "Show file" in iPhoto to see the file in the Finder. Then, if I double-click and it opens in PS, and then alter it (or do not alter it) and try to save it over itself, or save it anywhere else.
    > And with »save it anywhere« You indicate that You use the Save As-command?
    Right.

  • All CS1 apps quit when I try to launch them.

    Hello
    I have been told by Adobe that they cannot provide any direct assistance to me. I have tried to explain to them that I don't believe I have a technical problem with the suite, as I think it may be a licensing issue. The problem I am having is that whenever I try to launch one of the CS1 apps, I get the following error message,
    b "The application (...) CS quit unexpectedly. Mac OS X and other applications are not affected.
    b Click Relaunch to launch the application again. Click Report to see more details or send a
    b report to Apple."
    My system is a Dual 2GHz PowerPC G5. I have 3.5GB of RAM. The Creative Suite is installed in the Applications Folder of my startup drive, which is the original 160GB drive. I also have installed a 1TB drive in the second internal bay. Firmware is up to date and I am running Mac OS X (10.5.6). I have had CS1 for about 5 years and it is registered in my name.
    The problem started around the time that I downloaded a trial version of Illustrator CS4, about 1-2 months ago. I'm not necessarily linking the two together because I can't remember if I have successfully launched a CS1 app since installing Illustrator CS4. Around that time, I also repaired disk permissions in an attempt to sort out a problem I was having with the optical drive and I am fairly sure that I haven't been able to launch a CS1 app since then. Again, I don't know whether these could be related.
    What I tried to explain to Adobe was that, I used to use 3 or 4 different user accounts on my Mac. I had one set up for graphics, one for music etc.. I have only installed CS1 on this computer but it occurred to me that by using the suite under different user accounts, it may have appeared that I had installed it on more than the allowed maximum of two computers. Also, I have more than once had to reinstall the operating system. At least once was an 'erase and install' and one an 'archive and install'. I wondered if this might also make it appear that I had installed the suite on more than two computers. I have since read somewhere that if you want to transfer your licence to someone else, you have to deactivate the serial number from preferences, which is something that I have never done.
    Here is a list of what I have done to try and eliminate possible causes:
    - relaunched the apps after the first failed launch, to launch them with their default preference sets.
    - manually uninstalled the entire suite, including preference files, caches, fonts etc., as per the instructions given on the Adobe Support Website.
    - reinstalled the suite
    - repaired disk permissions
    - deleted all printer and scanner drivers
    - set up a second user account to verify that the apps will not launch from a different account
    - booted in safe mode and tried to launch CS apps from there to eliminate issues with login
    items or kext files
    - disabled all non-system fonts and deleted any duplicates
    - tried to launch the apps having removed all peripherals except mouse and keyboard
    - reset PRAM and NVRAM
    - run all open firmware and Mac OS X diagnostic tests to eliminate hardware issues
    - completely reinstalled the operating system followed by a clean installation of the suite
    None of these measures has solved the problem. If anyone could offer me any advice on this, I would be very grateful. Could it be a licencing issue and if so, what do I do about it? Adobe don't seem to want to know. Incidentally, Adobe Reader launches fine as does the trial version of InDesign CS4 that I've just downloaded.
    If you have read this far, thank you for persevering.
    Regards
    Will Mackie

    CS1 is not supported in Leopard if you had it working at some point you were lucky. Adobe does not plan on updating CS as it is an old version. Keep in mind that CS1 is now the last version that can be updated to CS4 now that Adobe has a 3 version update window. At the beginning of March Adobe will start tiered pricing and CS1 and CS2 will cost $200 more that you can upgrade to day. As soon as CS5 is released you will no longer be in the upgrade path and will need to pay full price for the CS5 creative suite.
    If you want to continue to use Leopard then it would be best for you to upgrade to CS4. If you will never need to upgrade then it would be best to downgrade your system to Tiger by either restoring from a backup of Tiger you made before your system upgrade or wiping the drive and installing Tiger fresh. You can't Downgrade the Leopard with Tiger as you could with previous systems.

    That is correct.
    You cannot use your CS1 serial number with the CS2 non-activated version supplied by Adobe at

  • Photoshop CS1 wont open anything - big issues!

    Hi
    Photoshop has started to do an odd thing ...and I am in crisis as I am a photographer and kind of need it!
    It will not open ANY image file, of any size, or any time via any opening method - double clicking on the file, dragging onto the dock icon, using Finder and File Menu>Open or going into P/Shop and using File Menu>Open.
    Photoshop opens fine and does all the usual things when opening an image file - it even gives me the dialogue box when the Colour Settings do not match the work space.
    Then, every time it gives me a message saying: "Could not complete your request because of a program error".
    It give the same message if I try to create a new file within P/Shop.
    Thus far I have:
    - Repaired disk permissions
    - Binned P/Shop prefs
    - Uninstalled and re-installed the whole of Creative Suite 1 (!!!)
    - Tried a new user account and the problem was the same.
    - I read about needing to put "Adobe Unit Types" File into a folder called "ScriptingAdditions" at HD/Library/ScriptingAdditions. (This was already there, but I tried an old version from an archived OS 10.4.4, and then downloaded a new version of it from the web and tried that).
    - Put this file in every library I could find on the Mac (that was out of desperation!).
    - Restarted about a billion times.
    - Checked Adobe.com for updates and help.
    - Added any available updates for CS1
    -Trawled the web for hours looking for a solution.
    - Disconnected from the internet while opening a file (As Adobe suggested - like that it gonna do anything?!?!?)
    - run /sbin/fsck -uy at the command prompt after starting up in single user mode.
    - Torn my hair out
    - Sworn a lot.
    - Wondered why the **** I spent sooooo much money on Creative Suite!
    -Resisted temptation to put foot through monitor
    Frankly, I think I have done pretty much everything possible and am clean out of ideas - any thoughts anyone?
    My info - OS 10.4.7, Photoshop CS1 (Part of Creative Suite CS1).
    This has only happened since I installed OS update to 10.4.7
    Please help!
    Thanks
    Rob

    I personally have found that sometimes it's harder to isolate things once I have been mucking about so much (and being so frustrated.) I have found that buying a firewire external drive and re-installing the OS fresh and creating one account and only installing that one app almost always works.
    I can then limp along and migrate settings or file an honest bug report that states so simply that the only things there are Mac and Application X that it's easy to find a solution or get back to work.
    Sorry it's probably not what you wanted to hear, but sometimes the sure bet is worth the added time and hardware. And you will then have a spare drive to use a tool like carbon copy cloner to make bootable backups every so often so when the inevitable strikes, you can keep working...

  • Seconds to hr/min/sec conversion error

    I typed up this simple sample program and for some reason when I execute it, I get one second less than the actual value. For instance, I typed in 9999 and got 2 hours, 46 minutes, 38 seconds. It should be 39. What did I do wrong? Here's the code:
    import cs1.Keyboard;
    public class Tim
    public static void main (String[] args)
    final int CONVERSION = 60;
    final double HOUR_CONVERSION = 3600.0;
    int hour1, minute1, seconds1;
    double seconds, minute, hour;
    System.out.print ("How many seconds have you been sleeping? ");
    seconds = Keyboard.readInt();
    hour = seconds / HOUR_CONVERSION;
    minute = (hour - (int)hour) * CONVERSION;
    seconds = (int) ((minute - (int)minute) * CONVERSION);
    hour1 = (int) hour;
    minute1 = (int) minute;
    seconds1 = (int) seconds;
    System.out.print ("You slept for " + hour1 + " hours, "
    + minute1 + " minutes, and "
    + seconds1 + " seconds.");

    My suspicion is a rounding error. When you do the
    last conversion to seconds, I supect you are getting
    something like 38.99999999. and just in case it wasn't clear (no offense, EE), converting fp types to int types in Java always truncates, so (int)38.99999999999 ends up as 38.
