Error: archive mozilla-firefox.pkg.tar.gz is corrupted.solve

I wanted to see which of Opera and FireFox was bigger but started the download. Instinctly I do ^C-c just to soon notice the above (subject name) error when trying to install firefox. I've tried to force it without success. I can't find the package neither when searching with "find". Help appreciated.

  • Archive transcode-0.6.12-1.pkg.tar.gz is corrupted - HELP?!

    Hey all,
I've been trying to install transcode on arch 0.6.
    If i do
    pacman -Sy transcode
    I get an error
    error: archive transcode-0.6.12-1.pkg.tar.gz is corrupted
I think it may be because my connection was interrupted during the download of transcode (even though pacman picked up where it left off later on).
I've tried removing transcode, but I can't because it's not installed. How can I remove all traces of it, and re-download the package?
Thanks a lot, sorry if it's an obviouse question, tried man pacman but no luck.
    Cheers,
    Thom

No probs, after a little forum-surfing, I just did a
    pacman -Sc
and that seemed to sort everything out!

It turned out to be mirror site issue (Austalian one - don't know why it has corupt packages? Might be ok now?).
So, I just used ftp.archlinux.org... and it went happily.
But, I don't want to use ftp.arch... it's for you guys on North American side of the world... I'd like something close to me and contribute to load sharing... Anyway... it's all dandy now.

Worked well so I will (again) ASSume the problem lay  with pacman's "checksum" data  base for that file.

We've followed Aaron Parker's recipe for Mozilla Firefox for years [StealthPuppy] and with this latest upgrade for Version 33 I am now getting a black window once the application is presented. You can still control the window and close the application
    but the black screen persists.
    Any suggestions are appreciated.

That is a very good article and a few of those techniques we use regularly when trying to troubleshoot applications. Unfortunately I have yet to stumble across anything that corrects this issue but have a few more steps to complete.
I have checked the client - version 32 still works
    Cleared the cache
Deleted all content from the Softgrid directory
Removed all apps from the cache
    Repaired the package
    checked the Sftlog.txt
    modified the OSD file
The remaining Advanced steps will be reviewed.

  • How to fix error message; Mozilla Firefox unresponsive, script is not working - continue or cancel?

While playing games especially in Facebook with the Farms and very little on other games. The message pops up like not in script not in sync (with FB-Zynga) and it pauses everything until click an options. I use continue and it takes a few seconds to like reset itself (the letterhead will flash and then toolbar re-shows).
This can happen one time or two to three times depending on how long it takes response time from ?? Firefox or Facebook. It occurs numerous times throughout the games (not on main page/profile etc.).
All system performances have been updated and cleaned each day. This still occurs even after on 11-23-11 updating FF to 8.1 from 5 and up, updating Flash Player, updating our Cleaner, and at highest we can for Internet Exployer.
This did not happen when using Google Chrome except it would give message to close. I can open more than one program or website at a time, but it strongly happens while playing games (#1 being Facebook). It does not interfear with AOL, MindJolt, Pogo Games etc., nor while searching other websites from any used program. What can be done? Is the your speed synchronizing with FB or our computer??

Do a clean reinstall and download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.<br />
Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.<br />
    Don't remove personal data when uninstalling.<br />
It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.<br />
    <br />
You can skip the step to create a new profile, that is not necessary for this issue.
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Clean_reinstall
You may have a malware problem if you get unrelated pop-ups opening or are redirected to unrequested websites.
If that is the case then do a malware check with a few different programs.
Every program finds different malware, so you need to use more than one program to scan.
Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs.<br />
You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.

    Hello,
Sometimes antivirus extensions cause browsing issues in Firefox. Try disabling McAfee while on your email program to see if it still crashes.
If after disabling McAfee the site still crashes, enable that plugin again if you wish. Please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.
#Enter ''about:crashes'' in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
#Copy the '''5''' most recent Report IDs that start with '''bp-''' and then go back to your forum question and paste that into the "Post a Reply" box. Nope. It didn't work for thunderbird. Firefox works nicely though!

  • Xgl-git-20061214-1.pkg.tar.gz corrupted

the archive itself is corrupted, and pacman says
    error: archive xgl-git-20061214-1.pkg.tar.gz is corrupted
    from danimoth's server i686
it's not my connection because i've tried pacman -Syu a couple of times, deleting the 'corrupted' package in between from /var/cache/pacman/pkg/xgl-git...
the archive itself doesn't extract with a tar -xf anyways, so either I'm stupid, or the package wasn't zipped properly.

My first guess would be because Firefox disabled insecure TLS fallback in 37.
We have disabled insecure TLS version fallback. If a secure site isn’t working, you can try setting the “security.tls.version.fallback-limit” preference in about:config to 1 and see if it works then.
Weblogic out of the box does not use the newest protocols and is version intolerant.  I would need detailed config info to say for sure why PORTAL might still be working.  Are they running different Java versions for Weblogic?  Is there a mix of Certicom and JSSE being used for SSL?  Check out this analysis for more details.

Let us know what you find.  Others may experience the same thing if they are configured similar to you.

  • Firefox will not open on my computer, even after reinstall, with no error message or when I try to run "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p. Help?

I recently installed firefox so I could use an adblocker. It installed just fine, and it worked just fine for about three days. Then yesterday it stopped opening. I'm on a Toshiba running Windows 7. The icon highlights when I click on it, but then it stops and won't open the browser at all. When I try to run it with the manual command "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p, I get the error message, "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\ refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer, or on a network. Check to make sure that the disk is properly inserted, or that you are connected to the Internet or your network, and then try again. If it still cannot be located, the information might have been moved to a different location." I installed it to that location, and I don't need a disk. I'm connected to the Internet just fine and my other browsers (Chrome and IE) work the same as always. But they're swamped with ads and I really was happy wih Firefox when it was opening...how can I fix this issue?

Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!

The updater wasn't able to update all the files and some were left as older versions.<br />
    Do a clean reinstall.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 5.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version.
    * Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.
