Error: Arthmetic over/underflow in Adobe LiveCycle 7.0

This should be very easy and straightforward, but I cannot seem to get this error message to GO AWAY!!!
I am trying to input an arithmetic formula using Formcalc that will calculate the percenter of change between two numeric fields. The two fields I am using are:
YGasSalesVar = This is a numeric field that has already calculated the change between the two fields, i.e. Field1-Field2. In this particular example the number is (1,361).
PYGasSales = This is a numeric field that is populated by a data connection to an Access data base. The value of this numer in this example is 2,694.
I have entered the following in a numeric field using Formcalc:
Show: calculate
Language: FormCalc
Run At: Client
(YGasSalesVar / PYGasSales) * 100                  (The answer should be 50.51967)
When ever I try to preview the form with PDF Preview in LiveCycle 7.0, I get the following error message:
I can perform any other arithmetic function (add, subtract, multiple) with these two fields, just not divide.
Will someone please take time out of their busy schedule and help me please! I greatly appreciate it!

As you mentioned, you are asking about LiveCycle. You should ask the question in the LiveCycle forum.

  • Adobe LiveCycle ES 8.2 Installation Error can't configure the App Server from Config Manager

    Hello All-
We are trying to install the Adobe LiveCycle ES 8.2 SP2 and we are getting some issues while configuring the Application Server from the Config Manager, not sure why are those showing up, we never had these issues before when we installed 8.0, please look at the lcm log and the screenshot I provided for the errors which we are getting.
We are trying to configure the remote Application Server WebSphere on Linux from my machine which is on Windows and i made the target Application Server as WebSphere and target platform as linux when i initially installed the livecycle media.
The LCM logs say it failed to run the jacl scripts in the LiveCycle root directory and we wonder why is it pointing for the target Application Server to the Application Server which resides on my machine rather than it should point to the one on server. I am not sure what's going on and we did exactly what we did for 8.0.
Below are the environment details where we are trying to install.
    Adobe LiveCycle ES: 8.2 SP2
    Database: IBM DB2 9.1 FP4.
JVM Version and Vendor: 1.5.0 IBM Corporation
Application server: IBM WebSphere Application Server/6.1.0.19
    Operating System: Linux
    Hardware: x86 .
    Any help will be appreciated!
    Thanks-
    Karthik.

    Hi All,
Even i was facing the same issue but i was able to resolve it.
Although the earlier reply from karthik_chowdary was sent way back in 2008 and i think would have got resolved till now, but still the resolution which i have found is
The port i was using on the app server conf screen was that of application server HTTP Port.
But here in case of WebSphere ND, we need to use port specified in WAS UI > System administrator > Deployment manager > Ports
Try using that by default it is 8879.
    And this resolved the issue.

  • Adobe Livecycle Download Error

I am trying to download the Adobe Livecycle Designer 7.1 file name 01200615322000000711 for GUI 6.4 using the SAP Download Manager, found
    under OSS Note 962763.
I keep getting an error saying " The request failed: 400". I even let it run overnight.
I have successfully downloaded the patch for the Adobe Livecycle (Note 9965548) so I know the Download Manager is configured properly and working.
Anybody know how to fix this?
    Thanks

Not sure what you are trying to do. If you are working on a form in Designer, you will not be able to modify it in Acrobat. You can send an Acrobat form to Designer, but not the reverse. There are some useful features in Designer from what I understand, but you will give up the Acrobat aspect once you go there. It sounds something like you are trying to edit a Designer form in Acrobat. That will not work, period.

  • Trouble getting past arithmetic over/underflow error

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help out. I've read some forum posts about getting over an error on a LC Designer form for Arithmetic over/underflow that is occurring if a user has not filled out a field yet, so the calculation is trying to divide by zero. I applied some code (javascript below) that has worked for me on all fields I needed it, except for one, and I cannot figure out what I've done wrong.
I'm trying to determine a Loan to Value Ratio. I have been able to successfully calculate the field using the following FormCalc code, written on the calculate event of my field named "Asset1LVR":
    Page4.TotalPropertyTable.Row2.PPROwing/Page4.TotalPropertyTable.Row2.PPRValue*100
This is fine and all, but if the user has not yet filled out the "PPRValue" field, then the arithmetic over/underflow error occurs because the value of PPRValue is null.
I have been using a script like this one below on other parts of my form where I was having the same trouble, and the code below works like a charm. For some reason I cannot get this code to work with my Loan to Value Ratio scenario. It is not producing anything in the "Asset1LVR" field at all, so appears to be doing nothing.
This what I am using, written on the calculate event of "Asset1LVR" and Language is set to Javascript:
    if ( Page4.TotalPropertyTable.Row2.PPRValue >0) then
         Page4.TotalPropertyTable.Row2.PPROwing / Page4.TotalPropertyTable.Row2.PPRValue * 100
    endif
How come the FormCalc version works to calculate, but the JavaScript doesn't?
Any help is much appreciated, thank you.

I managed to come across the answer in another post I missed earlier (REPOST - "Arithmetic Over / Underflow" Error). I've changed my code to what is shown below, and seems to work perfect. Hopefully someone else will find this useful.
// check for divisor having a value and not zero
    if
    (HasValue(Page4.TotalPropertyTable.Row2.PPRValue) and Page4.TotalPropertyTable.Row2.PPRValue <> 0) then
    // perform division
    Page4.TotalPropertyTable.Row2.PPROwing
    / Page4.TotalPropertyTable.Row2.PPRValue
    * 100
    else
    // display nothing
    endif

  • Out of memory errors shortly after saving Adobe LiveCycle Designer

Stuck in a loop.  I am being forced to give up on a pdf that I put hours of work in.
I can open the document and work in it for a while, but one large text box will instantly crash the program if I select it.
The name of the text box is very long.  This was named as the file was converted automatically with the acrobat professional forms wizard.
If I could delete the field i would but as soon as I select it I am hosed.
The debugger opens asking me if I want to open visual studio.
I have no choice but to just give up on all the work on this document.

I have had to uninstall visual studio even to get livecycle to run. Also neither version will convert a word document.
So I print word as a pdf, the open it in acrobat pro and run the forms wizard,  then I can convert that to LiveCycle.
    it works.
I have to get this project done,  so I will go back to word and either reduce the textbox size,  and thankfully I can copy the work I do have out of the corrupt pdf.
My question is,  is there a way I can somehow delete the evil text box that instantly crashes the program.
    Wow.

Can you attach the file to the forum and I can see if I can delete the text box here?

  • Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8 - Crash (Memory could not be "written")

I was using Adobe LiveCycle Designer 7.1 for the past half year. All of a sudden, it started to crash - Memory could not be "written".
During that period I heard quite a lot about Adobe's bugs, so I decided to install Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.0 hoping to see improvement over software stability and compatibility.
Of course I uninstalled the older verion, deleted the older file folders then did a clean-install of 8.0
Interesting enough, the first time I open up Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8, everything went normal. Without doing anything, I closed it then tryied to re-open it, the splash screen shows up then nothing happens - not a single error message.
    Then I tried the following:
    1. restarted PC. Tried the open-close-reopen squence, same thing happened.
    2. uninstalled 8.0, deleted the folders, reinstalled 8.0. open-close-reopen, same thing happed.
    2. uninstalled 8.0, deleted the folders, reinstalled 7.1. Open LiveCycle Designer 7.1 -> Crash (Memory could not be "written")
    Findings:
    1. the errors are consistent
    2. it can open ONLY once, is this an activation issue? is there a corrupted file?

Well when I tried to open the sample project I got this error:
"Open project was cancelled or the application was unable to load database for "C:\PROGRAM FILES\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp 8\RoboHTML\Samples\en_US\CCC\CCC.cpd""
I couldn't delete the CPD file because this client has locked down the computer to the point where I cannot do anything more than view the files in the program folder. Without having the ability to write to the program files folder is it possible this is an issue? Or is it ok that I do all the creating content in the RoboHelp Project on the C drive?
It allowed me to copy the Sample folder to the RoboHelp Project folder on the C drive. I deleted the CPD file then opened it without a problem.  I created a topic and added some content, but nothing happened. When RH8 crashed before there was no rhyme or reason and I cannot duplicate the error. Just seems very sponataneous.
I need to finish the style guide project today, but I will also play with the sample folder and see if (1) it happens again and (2) if I can figure out how to duplicate the error consistently. The first 2 times I had been in the new topic and wrote several paragraphs without saving it. Can't remember how long from topic creation to crash. And I can't remember if it crashed on trying to save or not, but I'm pretty sure I had not tried to save prior to the crash.

  • Error Message:  Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premier Pro to shut down.

Hi. I'm having another serious problem with CS4 (the version that comes with CS5 when you don't have 64 bit capability. I just finished a project, had saved it, and then had switched over to Adobe Encoder to create a finished flash video (which worked perfectly). I shut down CS4, went home, tried to restart the main project to create a video from the same project (wanted to make an mpeg version as well) and got the following error message:
Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premier Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project. Then the system shuts down.
Not only can I not open the project I was working on, I cannot open any of my prior projects without receiving the same error.
Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this issue and how to resolve it?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
By the way, is everyone else having the same amount of problems with this software? I've never had any software that has had so many problems from the beginning. My opinion of this software and Adobe in general has gone down substantially.

  • Questions regarding Adobe Reader Extensions for Adobe Livecycle.

    Hi,
I'm relatively new to Adobe products, having just started to use Adobe Livecycle over the last couple of weeks. I've produced a set of interactive forms for field engineers to use. When completed, they will submit the xml data via email. However, there will be numerous occasions where they will need to stop in the middle of data collection and come back at a later point to finish, hence the need to locally save the information before submission.
I understand this is where Adobe reader extensions would come in, unlocking this functionality.
At the moment, i'm a bit of a loss on several points regarding how reader extensions work and i was wondering if anybody could fill in the gaps:
    1. Are they seperate modules that bolt in into the main Livecycle application?
    2. As these forms will be used off line, i would like to set the permissions to the pdf locally. From what i read, Reader Extensions is a server product. Is this correct, or can i use Reader Extensions to set these permissions before publishing the adobe form?
    3. Where can i get hold of Reader Extensions and how much do they cost? I have been reading information on similar topics on this forum (dating 3-4 years ago) that say reader extensions are comparitavely expensive to a Adobe Pro/Livecycle licence. ($50,000 upwards) Is this correct? If so, is there a cheaper alternative to achieve the same outcome?
I hope someone can shed some light on these points!
    Thanks in advance.
    Rob

Reader Extensions can be bought as a module in LiveCycle. There is a subset of RE functionality that exists in Acrobat. The ability to save locally is part of Acrobat. In both cases you woudl RE the form before distributing it, hence when the user gets your form they are ready to go. You can download a trial version of the server product. As far as pricing goes you woudl be better to talk to an Adobe salesrep as there are discounts for certain situations as well as different pricing options. If you decide tp gp the Acrobat route you ar limited, by licence, to distribute your form to a max of 500 users.
    Hope that helps
    Paul
