Hello Guyz
The scenario is when i am trying to update the decimal place of Quantity then at the time of update its showing the error i.e client is already Connected to Company and I have checked that no client is connected with the Company.
Thanks
Ankit

Hi,
Please check whether there is any instance or SQL process which is in sleeping mode.  Even sleeping process can block the transaction of updating the decimal settings.
Also, please be aware that once the decimals are increased, it is irreversible. You cannot decrease the decimal places afterwards.

    Hi,
enter the no of decimal places in CUNI .
then , in CS02 - enter the qty as 0,05 and not as 0.05 (use comma instead of fullstop and it will not throw any error) pls check.
you can change this using this path also
in the SAP user menu System->User profile-> Own data in the Default value tab page you can find the decimal notation
The same topic was discussed earlier in this forum.

  • Offset path has a math error at 4 decimal places

I have Illustrator CC 2014 running in Mac OS X 10.9.3, and discovered tonight while making a test pattern that if I do an offset path of -0.0005" it doesn't calculate the size of the resulting objects correctly. If I do +0.0005" it works fine, if I do -0.0015" it works fine. I obviously haven't tested exhaustively, but there is definitely a reproducible error there. It's not even off consistently in the width and height. The sizes listed refer to the size of the individual squares in the 4x4 grid of filled rectangles.

The black squares are what I'm building. So I didn't have to go one by one and apply offset path, I did three across and then noted that the next row above would be .003 difference, so I could apply a .0015 offset to all items in the row and move it up, then repeat. This works well for a while, but then it starts to get off. It doesn't appear to be cumulative which was my fear. The black squares I checked each one and redid them if they didn't come out right. The blue ones I just did an offset from the previous row. At .015 it should be .065x.065 and they are .065x.0649. That's the behavior I normally see, not a big deal. In that group, all 16 squares were the same, but in the .018 group above it, the first two rows of 4 were .062x.0619 while the 3rd row of 4 were all .062x.062 and then the top row were off again. By the top, the ones that are off are still only off by .0001 when they are off. So that implies that this is at least a rendering thing, it thinks the squares are what they are supposed to be when it applies future offsets.
I'm not sure if my original example is the same though. That was off by .001 in one direction and .0005 in the other which is 5-10X more than these. These are the issue I've always seen that at 1/10,000th of an inch are tiny differences and not really important for what we do. The one I started this thread about is much bigger and a definite problem. I'll post my latest test on that separately.

    Hi,
If in future you want to control the decimal points, you can go to tcode: CUNI and find your UOM to set your prefer decimal points.

  • Decimal Places SAP 07

    Hi All,
Does anyone know why we cant change Decimal places settings in SAP 07? I am running PL 08. When I try to change the decimal places settings from 6 to 2, I receive an error that says 'Decimal Places cannot be decreased'.
We are able to change this in PLD but my client has a problem with viewing this ridiculous amounts of zeros on the screen as-well.
    Please help!

Not possible to do this AFAIK. You can only increase the number of decimal places, not decrease. This should have been explained at the initial system setup.

  • Editable ALV Quantity/Decimal field

    Hi,
I have one column in ALV output which is editable .I have defined that in this way:
    data :input type resb-bdmng.
    fieldcatalog-fieldname = 'INPUT'.
    fieldcatalog-seltext_m = '     Scrap'.
      fieldcatalog-col_pos = fieldcatalog-col_pos + 1.
      fieldcatalog-input = 'X'.
      fieldcatalog-edit ='X'.
    APPEND fieldcatalog TO fieldcatalog.
      CLEAR fieldcatalog.
But if we edit the field in the output it gives error : " Too many decimal places ( maximum 0)"
If we add  fieldcatalog-datatype = 'DECIMAL'.  then it works fine but in that case it throws dump for toolbar button " Export to the local file " Its functinality is copied from standard interface SAPLKKBL program The dump is The current statement requires chaarater data type object .It cant take decimal fieldcatalogtype . If we remove fieldcatalog-datatype = 'DECIMAL'. then this button works fine but in this case the first error comes "Too many decimal places ( maximum 0)"
Please suggest how can I remove first error without setting fieldcatalog-datatype = 'DECIMAL'. property.
Will definetly ..... if its helpful

    hi,
This is a common problrm when yu want to display the values in decimals...if the datatype is any other than character, if u try to export to file,it will throw dump.change the datatype into character in ur internal table itself ,,then calculte the values in decimals and insert to this fieldand display. Now it will allow edit and wont throw dump

  • Error message when updating decimal places in general settings

    Hello together,
I got a big problem with the settings of decimal places.
I know that I am only be able to incerase these but it's a virgin database for a customer with no data imported.
Everytime I want to increase the prices decimal places I get the following error message:
"cannot update while another user is connected to the company"
But I checked all sessions connected to this database. I am the only person that is logged in.
I closed the db more that one time but it doesn't work.
    Can you help me please?

    Hello Meike,
I have had this problem a while ago and it was caused by the RPD-connection i had made with the customer server.
I had to change the values directly on the client machine.
    Hope this also your solution.
    Kind regards.

  • Trying to Update Decimal Places - Get Error

    Administration->System Initialization->General Settings->Display
I change Amounts to 3 and Quantities to 6
    Click Ok
Receive dialog - changes are irreversible
    Click Yes
    then receive error
Cannot update while another user is connected to the company
I am the only one logged in
    2007aPL38

    Hi Stephanie,
To continue to update the decimal places, please try the following:
    1. Restart the SQL Server as there may be some connections that are
    not cleared in the server.
    2. Stop any add-on running in the system.
Note that in 2007A version, the decimal places can only be increased.
Once set, they cannot be decreased anymore. So work with decimal in a consistent way.
If the issue remains unresolved after trying the 2 solutions,  Please
log a message for SAP Support

  • Cannot Update Decimal Places in General Settings

When I try to update the decimal points in the Administration > System Initialization > General Settings > Display path, SAP B1 gives me the following error:
"Cannot update while another user is connected to the company."
I am the only one on the system as "manager" with "Super User" and "Full Authorization"...
The SAP B1 Guide titled "How to Make Initial Setting in Business One - US" says "you can change these settings at any time".
QUESTION:  What might be stopping this change, and more importantly, how do I get around this error to be able to change the decimal points?
    Thanks all - Zal

    Hi Zal,
I agree with you about the strange messaging used by SAP.
But blocking the possibility to decrease the decimal places is extremely important.
Suppose you have inserted a sales document with two items in this way:
Item 1 ___Qty 1,234  ___Unit price 1,22  ___Line total  1,51
Item 2 ___Qty  5,756 ___Unit price 3,15  ___Line total 18,13
    ____Document total 19,64
Then, someone wants to change the number of decimal places of the quantity from 3 to 2.
    What happens would be:
Item 1 ___Qty 1,23  ___Unit price 1,22  ___Line total  1,51
Item 2 ___Qty  5,75 ___Unit price 3,15  ___Line total 18,13
    ____Document total 19,64
If you try to do the calculations manually you will see that the results are not correct. In fact all the document would have to change in:
Item 1 ___Qty 1,23  ___Unit price 1,22  ___Line total  1,50
Item 2 ___Qty  5,75 ___Unit price 3,15  ___Line total 18,11
    ____Document total 19,61
Also if the document total will show correct (in the case of rounding the second decimal position of item 2), the totals of any line is wrong. In fact there is no recalculation at all in SAP (and must not be done).
Imagine such a modification over thousand of documents and all of the descendants (mainly if the have lead to printouts - as say confirmations - sent to customers or vendors).
None of the economic figures will match.

  • Quantity column display upto 2 decimal places in ALV

I've created an ALV for dynamic columns. For this i've first created the fieldcatalog and then the internal table.
The problem that i'm facing in this is that the user wants the quantity column to be displayed upto 2 decimals. For this i tried the following:
    1.)     wa_fldcat-decimals_o = '2'
             wa_fldcat-decimals    = '3'.
             wa_fldcat-datatype     = 'QUAN'.
with this i tried that let the calculation be to 3 decimal places but on output it should show 2 decimal places.
But this doesnot gets reflected on ALV. It still shows 3 decimal places.
    eg:  3 decimal places: 16.667 + 16.667 + 66.667 = 100.001
    2.)     wa_fldcat-decimals_o = '2'
             wa_fldcat-decimals    = '2'.
             wa_fldcat-datatype     = 'CURR'.
I also tried doing the calculation with 2 decimal places with datatype CURR but with this the last digit gets rounded.
    eg:  2 decimal places:  16.67  + 16.67   + 66.67   = 100.01
Now we are taking total as 100 %. So tha calculative total cannot be more than 100.
On seeing 100.001 user says show it to me to 2 decimal places  i.e. 100.00
On seeing 100.01 user says  how can the total be more than 100 & this is .01 more than 100.
Therefore how can the 1.) option be achieved.
    PLZ HELP!

    Hi,
    Can u check this one
    DATA: gv_packed TYPE p DECIMALS 2.
    CATCH SYSTEM-EXCEPTIONS conversion_errors = 6.
    MOVE char_field TO gv_packed.
    ENDCATCH.
    IF sy-subrc = 6.
    error handling
    ENDIF
Try to move ur char field to a type p field. If char field is other than numeric then u will get error that can be handled in try...chatch..endtry block.
    data: l_val type p decimals 2.
    parameter my_val type char20.
    try .
    l_val = my_val.
    catch cx_root.
    Do ur error handling here
    endtry.
you can work with search and concatenate.
    value1 = 3601152
    search value1 for '.' .
    if sy-subrc eq 0.
    concatenate value1(5) '.' value1(2)+5 into text.
    Or value1 = value1 / 100.
    endif.
    Thanks.
    Ashok.

  • Decimal place in Quantity field

    Hello experts,
Got a query regarding decimal places in the quantity field of a sales order.
The material UOM is maintained as EA. I have checked the transaction CUNI, where the decimal place is maintained as ZERO. Still , Sales order / Delivery documents which i am creating is allowing decimal places for in the quantity.
For eg: material quantity of 50 EA in sales order, during the delivery batch splitting is getting splitted as 25.095 EA and 24.050 EA. Can you pleae advise the reason for this and how to go about this...
    Thanks,
    Safeer Rahman

    Thanks for your reply....
But , as i have already told the decimal place field  is maintained as 0(zero) in CUNI for the UOM EA.... Still its allowing me to enter decimal values... for eg:. its allowing me to enter 50.038 EA. I don't know why its not giving an error message prompting me not to enter decimal values...
    Any idea?
    Thanks,
    Safeer Rahman

  • Routing - decimal places for unit of measure conversion quantity

    Hello all,
in the change routing screen in SAP (CA02), when going to a operation detail screen, a unit of measure conversation value can be defined. A value for header and operation can be made.
Currently we cannot set any decimal values for operations, I get the error message: "decimal places are not permitted."
Where in customizing can I change that?
    Thanks
    Anne

    Hello,
    thanks for the answers.
    The UoM is LB.
I've already checked CUNI, but I can not find LB..?
Also I've noticed other places in SAP, for example the base quantity of some operations in the routing have a numbers with 3 decimal places and the same UoM LB, so this looks like the UoM is setup fine, maybe there are just problems with this special screen?
    Thanks
    Anne

  • CUNI Decimal place - error message

    Dear Friends,
Is there any way we can display an error message if a user enters more than the allowed decimal place per unit.
In CUNI we can control the display of decimals or the rounding of the decimals. Eventhough this is done the system still allows decimal places more than what is stipulated for that unit in CUNI.
But, the requirement is that the system should not allow the user to enter decimal places more than the allowed decimal place setings in CUNI. The system should display an error message.
Please let me know if this can be done per unit.

    Hi Lakshmipathi,
    Please find my explanation below:
    Scenario - 1
    -CUNI - BTL (Bottel) - No.Decimal place display (T006-DECAN) = "0"
-Material - ABC - Base UoM = BTL and Sales Unit = BTL.
-When a user creates a sales order for the third party process the system allows decimal places in quantity field (e.g.) = 1.50 BTL
->The system should not allow the above process.
    Scenario - 2
    -CUNI - SH (Sheets) - No.Decimal place display (T006-DECAN) = "1"
-Material - XYZ - Base UoM = SH and Sales Unit = SH
-When a user creates a sales order for the third party process the system allows decimal places in quantity field (e.g.) = 1.5 SH
-> The system should not restrict the above process.
Is there any way this can be achieved per unit of measure? If we restrict the decimal notation per user, there would be no flexiablity in the useage of units per user.
