Error attempting to subscribe to calendar

OS X 10.8.4, MBP 17-inch, Mid 2010.
Attempting to subscribe to a public calendar, I get the following text in an alert message box:  "There was an unexpected error with the request on subscribed calendars (error -1)."
I can subscribe to the same calendar successfully from a Windows 7 PC with Outlook 2007. Does anyone have ideas on what I may be running into? Even a slightly more informative error message would be helpful.

I was having this same issue when trying to subscribe to an ICS file on a web server. After lots of messing around with things, I discovered that the server was not sending the correct content type in it's response headers.
I added the custom mime type "text/calendar" for files ending in ".ICS" to the server's configuration (luckily this is a server I have control off) and it works fine for me now.
It looks like Calendar requires the mime type / content type to be:
Content-Type: text/calendar
You can check the content-type your server is providing in it's headers at the following site: http://urivalet.com/.  Just paste the URL of the ICS file you are trying to subscribe to and scroll through the headers to see the value for "Content-Type".  Let the server administrator know if it needs to be changed to text/calendar for *.ics files.
Good luck.

  • Error 30 when attempting to subscribe

I have shared a calendar on my computer, and sent an invitation to a friend. Both of us have MobileMe accounts. When she receives the email invitation and clicks on the URL link, it attempts to subscribe and then comes back with an error message +"There was an error subscribing to the calendar. The request to the server webcal://www.me.com/ca/sharesubscribe/1.09xxxxxx.ics failed (error 30)."+ I have checked that both machines are running the current OS (10.6.6).
    Any help would be appreciated.

Hi. Have you found how to sort this? I'm suffering from a very similar problem.
For some time I’ve had an ancient iMac and a slightly less elderly MBP. I kept my master calendars on the MBP, published them to a private website, and subscribed to them from the iMac. All has gone smoothly, till now.
I’ve just bought a new MBP, transferred the master calendars to it, unpublished from the older MBP and republished from the new one. The iMac is still happily subscribing to them, but when I try to open a subscription from the original MBP (and I know I'm using the correct ftp address, because I can actually download the calendars using Safari) the subscription fails with "error 30".

  • Unable to subscribe to calendar

Sun Java(tm) System Calendar Server 6.3-19.01 (built Aug 26 2009)
    SunOS mail 5.10 Generic_141414-10 sun4u sparc SUNW,SPARC-Enterprise
For a reason unknow to me some of our resource calenders disappeared today. When I run csresourse they don't show up but can see that the calendar exist in cscal list. When attempting to subscribe to the calender I am able to preview the calender in convergence but if i check the calender and attempt to subscribe to it nothing happens. I've been able to change permissions on the calender but no matter what i try I am unable to subscribe to it. Thanks

For a reason unknow to me some of our resource calenders disappeared today. Is there anything in common with the resource calendars that "disappeared" vs. those that didn't e.g. common owner/permissions, all part of the same domain?
Do you see any errors in the Calendar logs?
Have you performed a "./csdb check"?
If you create a new resource, does that work?
If you compare the LDAP entries for a working vs. "disappeared" calendar, can you see anything different?
Check the LDAP audit logs to see if there have been any changes to the resource calendar LDAP entries recently.
When I run csresourse they don't show up but can see that the calendar exist in cscal list. The csresource command performs an LDAP search for a resource e.g.
    [05/May/2010:10:30:35 +1000] conn=42 op=1 msgId=2 - SRCH base="o=aus.sun.com,o=isp" scope=2 filter="(objectClass=icsCalendarResource)" attrs="cn icsCalendar icsAllowedServiceAccess icsDWPHost icsDomainNames icsPartition"
[05/May/2010:10:30:35 +1000] conn=42 op=1 msgId=2 - RESULT err=0 tag=101 nentries=1 etime=0The cscal command accesses the calendar database. If the resources LDAP entry was removed/changed this could explain why you cannot subscribe to it or see it in the "csresource list" output.

  • Outlook 2010 subscribed internet calendar recurring event problem -- missing recurring events

    Hi --
In Office Outlook 2010, I'm subscribed to my wife's google calendar via subscribed internet calendars.  A few weeks ago, I noticed that recurring events weren't appearing.  I deleted the subscription, and resubscribed, with no luck.  (All
her other appointments and events were there, but not the recurring ones - including new scheduled events she had just added.)
At the same time, I did the same thing in Office Outlook 2013, (on another computer), and all the recurring events were there.
So the problem isn't with the feed, but somewhere in MS Office Outlook 2010.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Please make sure the latest patches and service packs are installed for your Outlook 2010. Since the issue doesn’t happen in Outlook 2013 on another computer, the Internet Calendar URL should be OK for opening.
Please refer to the following article to create a new Outlook profile and restart Outlook in Safe mode to have a try:
    https://support.office.com/en-za/article/I-can-t-start-Microsoft-Outlook-2010-or-2013-or-receive-the-error-%E2%80%9CCannot-start-Microsoft-Office-Outlook-Cannot-open-the-Outlook-Window%E2%80%9D-d1f69da6-b333-4650-97bf-4d77bd7abb85
If the issue doesn’t happen in safe mode, the issue may be caused by any third-party add-ins, please disable then enable the add-ins in Outlook One by One to confirm the issue cause.

  • There was an error attempting to send your changes to the exchange server.

iCal will no longer sync with my work Exchange calendar.
I have deleted and added the account several times, but that is not working.
I was getting messages about specific events not being synced with the server, but now I get the following message:
"Calendar can't refresh with the account "RPD Exchange"
There was an error attempting to send your changes to the exchange server"
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

Just hit this issue, with 10.10.2 Yosemite myself.  Simple to fix.  First Close iCal.  Then go to system preferences and open internet accounts.  Selected the Exchange account and turn off calendar.  Closes System preferences.  Now, from the finder, goto the GO menu, and hold down the option key.  While holding down the option key, you will see "Library" appear.  Click on this and it will open a finder window.  Then go to directory named Calendars. You will see a file called, Calendar Cache.  It should be a big file, depending on how much you have stored on your ical, maybe around 5 to 11 megs.  Move it to the trash can.  Then restart iCal.  iCal will crash the first time you open it due to the missing cache file.  Just hit ok and reopen it.  At this point iCal will reload all you accounts.  This can take a couple of minutes depending on how much info is there.  Most of the time you Exchange account will reload by its self, but only after all the iCloud events are rebuilt.  After iCal is back up and running go back to System Preference and make sure Exchange calendar is on.  Most of the time it will turn on by it's self.  Best of luck.

  • ICal error - can't see the calendars on opening...

iCal error - can't see the calendars on opening... unless i change the view - but then still the portlet in the top left hand corner remains blank.
Re-installed the whole OSx system from original disks and still the same problem.
cleared out the cache files, including trying to delete the metadata files... taken to my local Apple Centre (Academy) but no sucess so far.
Any ideas? Is it because i have around 8 calendars? Is that too many?
Could it be 'cos I sync with Missing Sync for my Palm TX?
    H E L P !!
    Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

When a user launches iCal, they may have one of the following symptoms:
    * When iCal is launched the calendar is blank -- no calendars are listed on the left and no events appear in the day/week/month views
    * Switching views allows all events to appear but the calendars on the left are still missing
    * User can create a new event and designate a calendar but when the event is saved it cannot be seen
    * Clicking in the blank space where the calendars are supposed to be has no effect.
This issue is a Sync Services issue and not directly related to The Missing Sync. Mark/Space has identified a couple of solutions to this problem that others have reported. For more information, see: http://www.macfixit.com/article.php?story=20060207074628694
    1) Quit iCal
    2) Locate the folder, User/Library/Application Support/iCal/Sources/ and delete the contents
    3) After deleting the files from this folder, lock the "Sources" folder. Do this by navigating up one level and selecting the "Sources" folder. Perform a "Get Info" (either through the "File" menu or by pressing Command-I with the "Sources" folder selected) then click the lock icon.
    4) Launch iCal and your calendars should reappear. Note that the relaunch of iCal will create a default 'Home' and 'Work' calendar, so make sure none of your calendars have the same names as the default .
    Do some backups first
    Follow those simple steps
    5) Go to Address Book, click on 'File' menu and choose 'Back up Address Book'. Go to iCal, click on 'File' menu and choose 'Back up database'.
    6) Go to Missing Sync and double click on the Backup Conduit and set it to backup all databases. Then run the sync with just that Backup conduit selected, disable all other conduits.
    7) Go to: /Users/<user name>/Documents/Palm/Users/<hotsync name>/ now hold the 'ctrl' key and click on the /Backups/ folder. Choose the option to 'Create Archive of "Backups"'. This is to safeguard your backed up data in case anything goes wrong.
Now 'Reset Sync History' using the iSync preferences option. The first sync will likely be slower.
    8) Launch iSync
    9) Click on the iSync menu
    10) Choose Preferences (make sure the "Enable syncing on this computer" is checked)
    11) Click the 'Reset Sync History' button. Read and follow the onscreen directions.
    12) This may launch iCal. Also the status of the reset is showing in the iSync display. When the reset is complete quit both iSync and iCal.
Launch Missing Sync and enable the Mark/Space Events and Tasks conduits and set them to Desktop overwrite Handheld. Disable all other conduits.
Then sync, when you do, you will get a dialog box with an orange iSync icon on it. Check the box to erase the device, then click the 'Allow' button. It will overwrite your device. You will get one for events, one for tasks, and one for contacts. The next time you sync .mac or other devices that sync with iSync like an iPod, you will get these same dialog boxes for their databases and you should check the box and click 'Allow' in those cases as well.
If you press the don't allow button you will need to reboot your computer.

  • "Error determining planning periods for calendar "  when running a program

    Hi,
When i am running a program with date range say "01/05/2011" to "30/06/2011",the program is executing successfully without any error. When i am executing the same program with date range as a) "01/05/2009" to "30/06/2011" and b)"01/05/2008" to "30/06/2011" the program is failing with error as "Error determining planning periods for calendar". Can anyone suggest me what i should do to avoid the failure of the program with above date ranges also.
    Thanks in advance,

    Dear,
Error message 61123:"Error determining planning periods for calendar &".The PPC planning calendar specified in the material master MRP 2 view for the material is  incorrectly.
The planning calendar periods are insufficiently maintained for the planning calendar used.
Check the period of planning calendar in MD26 and generate the correct period. You can avoid the problem in several ways:
Maintain the planning calendar far enough in the future (at least until beyond  the end of the planning horizon).
Also check any demand is lies beyond the validity period of planning calendar.
Reduction of the planning horizon of MRP also can control such issue, as MRP planning horizon lies in an area in which the planning calendar is no longer maintained

the error clearly saying that you dont have holiday calendar for 01.01.2012,, so please change it using PT02 to avoid the error.
then you check what exactly system is doing.
you have to create a wsr with one month extra validity than the exact periods required to avoid the future errors as you are getting now.
system always takes one month extra validity it is standard functionality.

  • [SOLVED]error: attempt to read or write outside of partition

Hello, I update my system at least once a week, sometimes I run pacman -Syu more than that. So this system is no more than about 7 days behind what is available today.  Last time I did this the kernel got updated and it updated itself again or at least it just ran mkinitcpio, also my passwd and group changed, anything that was not represented in the pacnew version got a representation, this last one mainly featured a lot of changes to "/usr/bin/nologin" from the login false version, whatever it was, nothing that looks too fussy.
Reboot just to see what will happen and I am greeted with this:
Booting `Arch Linux, with Linux core repo kernel'
Loading Linux core repo kernel ...
error: attempt to read or write outside of partition
    Loading initial ramdisk ...
    unaligned pointer 0x1d
Aborted. Press any key to exit.
I happen to have a usb drive that has Arch Linux 3.11.6.-1-ARCH, so I put that in and get an environment I can work with. Chroot in and so I can run mkinitcpio -p linux, thinking that that is the problem, some error in the kernel, I actually end up using the command
    # /usr/lib/modules
    , since
    # mkinicpio -p linux
    won't run, it gives:
==> Building image from preset: /etc/mkinitcpio.d/linux.present: 'default'
    -> -k /boot/vmlinuz-linux -c /etc/mkinitcpio.config -g /boot/initramfs-linux.img

    hexdump: /boot/vmlinuz-linux: Input/output error
==> ERROR: invalid kernel specified: '/boot/vmlinuz-linux'
    However,
    # mkinitcpio -g /boot/linux.img -k 3.14.6-1-ARCH
will. Everything finishes with a success, exit out, reboot and bam, same message, so it is not the kernel at least not on its own.  Here is what my fstab looks like:

arch_grub, whatever that was, went away. Pull out of arch-chroot, unmount sdaXs, reboot and:

Which persist even on a restart and trying to mkdir into /mnt/arch/boot/efi/EFI while outside of arch-chroot. No idea why that is happening, oh well.

Apple have not announced any such plans. It was the same during the whole MobileMe period from 2008 - 2012, so it doesn't seem to be a high priority issue for Apple.

  • Error attempting to process incomplete inbound FTP file

We are currently receiving some large files into PI via FTP.  Here is the communication channel definition:
    Adapter Type:  File
    Transport Protocol:  File System (NFS)
    Message Protocol:  File
    Adapter Engine:  Integration Server
    Poll Interval (secs):  600
Msecs to Wait Before Modification Check:  10000
Our issue is that at times PI attempts to process the file before it has completed uploading, and throws this error:  "Attempt to send file failed because file was modified during processing. 2428928 bytes expected, 2675033 bytes found. Trying to resend file".  The next time the file system is polled for new files, PI selects and processes the file successfully.
    Two questions:
    1)  Is it possible for PI to wait until the upload has fully completed before it attempts to process the file?  For example, can I run an operating system command before message processing which attempts to put a lock on the file and waits until it is successful before the file is processed?
    2)  We have implemented alert monitoring from Solution Manager for errors in PI.  These cases are throwing an alert upon the initial error, but these turn out to be false since the message is eventually processed successfully.  Can I configure Solution Manager to bypass this type of error?
Thank you very much for your help with this.

    Hi Mark,
    >>>1) Is it possible for PI to wait until the upload has fully completed before it attempts to process the file? For example, can I run an operating system command before message processing which attempts to put a lock on the file and waits until it is successful before the file is processed?
there is an easy way to achive it
put the file with a different name (let's say .lfg extension for flag)
after the application finishes uploading make sure it will also change the name to .xml etc.
inside PI file adapter specify to upload only .xml extensions - this way it will only take the whole file

as for solman question if you do like I suggest you will not have the errors in solman
