Error backup RMAN

Hello everybody,
Sometimes i got error messages on the backup of 2 databases (Oracle 11g R2). The backups are realised by dataprotector 6.1
When i execute the backup manually through dataprotector everything is fine.
In the event logs of dataprotector i can see the fails backups and there is an action adviced :
"reduce the number of channel to be egal with the simultaneous parameters in the backup"
Here is the rman script used by dataprotector :
run {
allocate channel 'dev_0' type 'sbt_tape'
parms 'ENV=(OB2BARTYPE=Oracle8,OB2APPNAME=SITGTD,OB2BARLIST=Sauvegarde TD)';
backup incremental level <incr_level>
format 'Sauvegarde TD<SITGTD_%s:%t:%p>.dbf'
database;
sql 'alter system archive log current';
backup
format 'Sauvegarde TD<SITGTD_%s:%t:%p>.dbf'
archivelog all
delete input;
backup
format 'Sauvegarde TD<SITGTD_%s:%t:%p>.dbf'
current controlfile;
I see only one channel described and the simultaneous parameters is set on 2.
Any one has an idea ? Is there anything i can change in the rman script ?
Thanks you.
David

    Hi,
    first of all you must have all the archivelogs since you want to recover your table from the previous backups.
    anyways if you want to recover your table then you need to perform incomplete recovery to the point where you loss the table for that you need to restore and recover your database.you likely to loose all the transcation which occurs to the point where you you loose your table.
    thanks..

  • Backup RMAN Incremental Level 1 without Level 0 - 10gR2

    Hi,
    I'm a bit confused after some tests.
    The Question: It's mandatory to perform backup incremental level 0 before the level 1 using Oracle 10gR2 ?
    On Oracle 11.2 it's mandatory but on Oracle 10.2.0.5 I don't know.
    Test on 11.2. If doesn't exists level 0 rman take care about it and perform automaticaly level 0 before level1
    RMAN> backup incremental level 1 database;
    Starting backup at 29-APR-11
    using channel ORA_DISK_1
    no parent backup or copy of datafile 1 found
    channel ORA_DISK_1: starting incremental level 0 datafile backup set
    channel ORA_DISK_1: specifying datafile(s) in backup set
    ...Docs said:
    Incremental backups capture only those blocks that change between backups in each datafile.
    In a typical incremental backup strategy, a level 0 incremental backup is used as a starting point. A level 0 backup captures all blocks in the datafile.
    So, on Oracle 10.2.0.5 this not happen like on 11.2:
    Perfoming backup level 1 without level 0:
    RMAN> list backup;

    Hi Gokhan,
    Thank you for point this.
    After spending a time studying about this I find out this:
    Your expanation apply only in Oracle 10gR1/R2.
    Because there is differences between RMAN Version 10gR1/R2 and 11gR1/R2 about Incremental Level 1 and this confuse me.
    Oracle 10gR1/R2 run only one backup incremental level 1 even if level 0 not exists .
    Oracle 11gR1/R2 run two backups incremental if level 0 not exists. i.e level 0 first and after that level 1.
    Oracle 10gR2
    If no level 0 backup is available, then the behavior depends upon the compatibility mode setting. If compatibility is >=10.0.0, RMAN copies all blocks changed since the file was created, and stores the results as a level 1 backup. In other words, the SCN at the time the incremental backup is taken is the file creation SCN.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/backup.102/b14192/bkup004.htm
    Thats means wich RMAN run level 0 with name level 1. (i.e: Only one Backup) This is confuse.
    Oracle 11gR1
    If no level 0 backup is available in either the current or parent incarnation, then the behavior varies with the compatibility mode setting. If compatibility is >=10.0.0, RMAN copies all blocks that have been changed since the file was created. Otherwise, RMAN behaves as it did in previous releases, by generating a level 0 backup.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/backup.111/b28270/rcmcncpt.htm#BRADV89500
    Oracle 11gR2
    If no level 0 backup is available in either the current or parent incarnation, then the behavior varies with the compatibility mode setting. If compatibility is >=10.0.0, RMAN copies all blocks that have been changed since the file was created. Otherwise, RMAN generates a level 0 backup.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/backup.112/e10642/rcmcncpt.htm#BRADV89500
    Thats means wich RMAN run (automatically) level 0 first after finish level 0 backup RMAN run level 1 backup (i.e Two Backups). This seems right.

  • Error "backup is corrupt or not compatiable".

    I recently got my iphone 4 stolen, so I have borrowed my mom's iphone 3gs, but when I try and back it up, it gives me this error " backup is corrupt or not compatiable."  How can I get this information back?  I have tried uninstalling itunes and reinstalling.  I'm not having any luck with this at all.  Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    thanks,

    Even if deleted all the backups shown in iTunes Preferences>Devices, check the actual backup folder on your computer to be sure there isn't one still there that needs to be deleted.  You will find them at one of the following locations:
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
    Windows Vista/7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
    Mac OS X: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/

    AppleMobileBackup[35473]: ERROR: Backup message response: 212 Unable to backup until Setup is finished (MBErrorDomain/212)

    Additional info since some searchs brought it up. I did install several versions of the iOS 6 beta when it was in beta at the time.

  • Time Machine error: backup disk image could not be created

    Iet up my new time capsule day and it's working great. Now that I've got everything sorted out, I'm ready to do the initial time machine back up on it. I went into preferences, changed the backup location to my TC and clicked 'back up now'. Very quickly I get a message that the backup failed: "Time Machine Error - The backup disk image could not be created".
    I've searched the apple support area but haven't been able to figure this one out. Can anyone help, please? This is an initial backup. (FYI, it worked great on my old external drive.)
    Many thanks

    I had the same problem. I installed my Time Capsule, fired up Time Machine and got an error that said "The backup is too large for the backup volume. The backup requires 436.8 GB but only 182.2GB are available."
    Coincidently, these are the same sizes as the space used and the space available on my iMac's drive.
    I looked in /Volumes and saw that the sparsebundle was being created on the local disk and not on the main disk. Trying to backup again gave me the "Time Machine error: backup disk image could not be created." message.
    I poked around the forums, and found a post about the machine name setting in sharing. I decided to give it a look, and lo and behold, I did not have a machine name. So I gave my box a name, kicked off Time Machine again, and it worked.

  • Time Machine Error, Backup to large - 496 avail and only 79 needs backed up

    I have a 1 TB TM with 496.9 GB available (I already have 1 computer backed up on TM)
    The second computer I want to back up has 80 GB used of a 500 GB HD.
    Time Machine prefs show 496.9 GB available on TM and shows the back up will be 79.1 GB total.
    But I get a error each time I try to back up saying " Time Machine Error, This backup is too large for the backup volume. The backup requires 614.1 GB but only 496.9 are available."
    Two questions:
    How can 496.9 GB be to small for a 79.1 GB backup?
    Why does a 79.1 GB backup require 614.1 GB of space?
    Thank You

  • HT3275 Time machine error, backup disk image "/volumes/data-1/.sparesbundle " already in use. I don;t know what this means, can someone help?

    My Mac mini time capsule is showing an error Time machine error, backup disk image "/volumes/data-1/.sparesbundle " already in use. I don;t know what this means, can someone help?

    I had a similar problem and I solved it as follows -
    In Time Machine - > I deselected time capsule Data Disk as a destination.
    Then I pulled the power plug on the Time Capsule, twiddled my thumbs for 15 secs, plugged the power back in.
    Went back t Time Machine -> Re-Added the Time Capsule Data Disk as destination. And then tested by selecting Backup Now.
    All went well and the backup picked up from before the problem.
    BTW - I also have a USB drive connected to Time Capsule that is an alternate disk for Time Machine to backup.
    In Mountain Lion the GUI lets you add more than one Time Machine backup destinations very easily so I think it a good idea to have redundancy.
    Hope this helps.

    I suspect that rman is performing, at the end of backup, some internal work (store something in control file based catalog or so) and catches ORA-01858.
    The destination catalog is local catalog (not nfs mounted remote dir).
    RMAN is spawned from the same node the Oracle Database is running on.
    I tested it on two servers.
    Error occurs on both of them:
