Error C00D11B1 when trying to play CD

I am getting error C00D11B1 when I try to play a CD. There is no sound and it appears the CD is playing for 4 seconds. There is sound.

I've had this error many times, it happens so infrequently that i often forget how to solve it.
From what I have understood this error code deals with the names of the files you are attempting to burn. The best thing to do it go through and take out all the periods. In extreme cases edit the rest of the filename to just numbers and letters.
To ramble on a little more, It has always happened in my experience to files with ".ac3" someplace in the filename. I theorise that it has something to do with how the filename is processed and as that is also a common file extension I suppose its very possible that it would cause some confusion in the system, even though it likely shouldnt.
excuse the rambling. (Its too bad apple couldnt just list all this information someplace... but then they wouldnt need to many phone help techs)

Hello,
I have had a BT Vision package for a few months but we recently moved house and wanted to transfer our services. Since moving in, we have got the telephone, internet and TV channels working however we are struggling with the additional TV services (i.e. catch up, recording, on demand).
Everytime we try to play something on catch up or via on demand, or try to play a recorded programme, it attempts to load but then the following error message appears at the bottom of the screen in a red box - 'An unknown error occurred when trying to play the video OutputProtectionEnableFailed'
I have phoned BT's technical department on several occasions who have not been able to resolve the issue. I have tried Googling this error message and searching BT's website however I cannot find any comments about this error. BT have offered to send a technician out however will automatically charge £99 if this is an error with the cable rather than the BT box. This is a lot of money and I am not able to risk this potential charge when I'm not sure what the problem might be.
If anyone know's what might be causing this , or has had the same error message themselves, I would be very grateful to know.

Unknown error occurred when trying to play film clip in Facebook.

Since the latest update I have problems when I want to watch film clips posted on Facebook.
This only happens with clips that are shown "in" Facebook, if it's a link to a clip outside of Fb it's not a problem.
When trying to watch a clip it says, either directly or various times into the clip, "An unknown error occurred when trying to play a film clip".
if I try over and over again the clip finally plays to its full length but it really annoys me.
Anybody got an idea?

We got some reports of this lately and as you say, it only happens in Facebook.

I got this error message when I tried to play rented movies after downloading.

It looks like this section in that article specifically has the information you might need:
"Error 42023" through "Error 42408"
These alerts might occur when trying to authorize iTunes or during launch when iTunes checks for authorization information.
Install the latest iTunes from apple.com/itunes/download/
Remove the SC Info folder.
If that does not resolve the issue, see iTunes: "Error 42408" or "Error 42404" after upgrading to iTunes 9.0.3.

I cannot work this out... I can watch normal TV on vision and BBCIPlayer...but I get this error when I want to watch catch up on any of the other channels.... I also cannot watch ondemand nor free previews on Bt Vision..... Help me please.... I have reset the Hub...Reset the BT vision box...checked my BB speed.......
Im out of ideas....It was working fine a couple of days ago.

Error (-208) when trying to play downlaoded musci

I purchased music from iTunes Music Store about 6 months ago and was able to play it no problem. Now, when I go in and select a purchased song, I recive the following message - what can I do to fix this??
The message is:

can you doublecheck your itunes version number for us? in itunes, go "help > about itunes" and wait for the version number to scroll up from the bottom of the screen. (for example, mine says "itunes 6.0.4.2".)

QuickTime error -43 when trying to play a file on the hard drive

I've gotten the error when trying to save a QT movie as source or as movie. To get the movie to be saved on disk, I reduce the number of characters in the filename (as if we're stuck using the old MS-DOS with "extended" filenames), and then try again. Shortening the filename usually works.
And if you look at the folder you tried to save the earlier files to, you'll see the filename you originally chose, with a file size of zero KB. Just delete those empty files. (I also superstitiously remove all spaces and punctuation marks in the filename, à la DOS, but have no idea if doing so makes any difference at all.)
The latest version of QuickTime Pro (7.1.5) still generates this error message when I try to save in QT (e.g., the teasers for "This American Life" on Showtime). My guess is that shortening the filename (one letter at a time, if you're scientifically bent) will get you to a filename that QT will be able to handle.

Updated to iTunes 10.4 using OS X v10.7 and now get error message "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes when playing music videos in iTunes". This did not happen in previous version of iTunes.

Error message when trying to play music in iTunes 8

I just upgraded to iTunes 8.0.1.11. When I now try to play any music (except for iTunes store purchases), I get an error message that says...
The song "x" could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it? Then shows the cancel and yes buttons.
I never had a problem with iTunes upgrades before. I see all the songs in my library, but just can't play them. All the music was playable and worked fine before I upgraded to this version. The only thing different I did notice after installing this, was it made a new "previous iTunes library" folder dated the day the upgrade was done. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

Quicktime error -2048 when trying to play.mov files.

I have been frustrated this weekend trying to find a solution to a problem that has only recently occurred accessing some digitised VCR tapes that had been archived on an external HDD. These are files that played back fine on my Quicksilver after I had recorded them, but now give a "Movie Not Available" message in Quicktime. However when opened in VLC I get a debug message box with the following information posted below. Any clues as to what might be the problem?
I recorded the files from my VCR using an ADVC-100 DA converter over firewire into BTV Pro which created .mov files (DV-PAL). When I try to open the files in BTV Pro, I get a message box "There was an error opening the movie. No Movie found. Error code 20,-2048" Did a search for this error and -2048 appears to be a Quicktime error, so am wondering if there is a problem with my installation of Quicktime. I have got all the usual suspects in stalled, Flip4Mac, Perian, VLC. Mpeg Streamclip but can't get the file to open. The external HDD is Mac formatted but I found some info about problems with missing resource forks in older .mov files causing problems if copied to NTFS HDD's.
Any ideas as to where to look next will be appreciated.

Well it used to work fine so I think so. When I try and run the installer you linked to I get a message saying that a later version is already installed- isn't it built into the latest QT releases? One thing I thought of- the original files I think were made on a mac so there were some resource fork files of 4K size. I deleted these as I kept trying to open them by mistake, but then after this trouble I dragged them back out the trash to the original location but it didn't fix the problem- could that have caused some sort of association problem?

All Youtube videos give error message when trying to play

I've had this problem for a little over a week now. All YouTube videos, whether they are embedded on another site or on YouTube itself, do not play. Instead, I get an error message that says "An error occurred. Please try again later." Videos from other sites that are not in whatever format YouTube videos are in still work (such as Hulu, Dailymotion, and others).
Another thing that doesn't work on YouTube is when I click on my username in the top right hand corner to see a drop-down list of my playlists. The drop-down menu that appears just says "Loading..." and never loads. I have tried to follow YouTube's instructions, but I have done everything they've recommended.
I have tried reinstalling/updating Adobe Flashplayer, Adobe Reader (not that it matters), turning off my McAfee firewall, and even reinstalling Firefox 6.0.2.
I should also note that on Internet Explorer I am experiencing no problems with YouTube at all, but I really don't like Internet Explorer.

Getting "error -50" when trying to play Online Class DVD-Rom

So the way my online statistics class lecture works is a DVD-Rom gets popped in my comp, and it opens the browser as the DVD-Rom menu. Then I click a chapter and a quicktime movie/video player window is supposed to pop up and play my lecture. It doesn't work on my computer. I am running a high quality computer that has the capability to run a full-fledged professional recording studio. It is really annoying that this won't work. My error says: "error -50: an unknown error occured". I tried updating, uninstalling, and re-installing. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

This is an easy Q: to set - but there is no simple and plain answer only a lot of more or less plausibly suggestions.
Error -50 = paramErr Error in user parameter list
Can there be any external hard disks - if so How is/are it/they formatted ?
If so it Must be Mac OS Extended (hfs) if used for Video.
UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange - works for most but not for VIDEO.
What this means in Your situation is above me.
• free space on internal boot hard disk 11Gb is on the limit to work when You select Export and might be it.
Video used - there are several video formats/codecs and iMovie can not use all of them, they evolve to fast.
• So try to find out by opening a raw video in QuickTime-player and then open Inspector (cmd+I) and read
Video Format/Codec: nnnnnnnn
What does it read ?
Pictures
• in what format ? .jpg, .bmp, .tif, else ?
Audio
• from where/what format ? iTunes, .avi, .mp3, .aiff, else ?
I convert all audio to .aiff - in iTunes I burn out as an Audio-CD .aiff (not .mp3) and use the files on this in my movie projects.
Some times it's needed to trash the "com.apple.iMovie.plist" file in You USER-Library/Preferences (not Library on Root level (when opening Macintosh HD) - but the one in Your home folder.
Many users has not observed that there are TWO libraries.
• Library - at root level
• Library - in user/account folder - THIS IS THE ONE to look into

I fixed the problem.. but it was very, very strange. I had a very long section for credits and set the line spacing to 1.0.. for some reason this caused it. I removed it, and it worked fine. I put it back, and I couldn't preview or play the video.
