Error Code 10 with GPIB PCI Card

PC used: Dell optiplex GX110, lastest Bios release, Windows 2000 SP4, GPIB Drivers version 2.2, Local Admin session.
After having install the driver (without the GPIB)and plug the card, this one is automaticaly recognised by the Os.
But, after the reboot (asked by the OS to validate the installation), the GPIB card appears, in the device manager, with an error code 10 (not started)....
I tried with two (new) differents GPIB PCI Card, two OS (First time with NT4.0 SP6 Drivers 1.7 and now, Win2000 SP4 Drivers 2.2) and with two PCs Dell Optiplex GX110 !
I even tried with a "Ghost" from an other PC (also an Optiplex GX110, with the same model of GPIB Card)
-> I obtain the same error each time !
Help me please..........

Hello,
Could you give me the exact reference of the board (PCI-GPIB, PCI-GPIB+, AT-GPIB, AT/GPIB-TNT...)?
Is the error code displayed on the Windows device manager (in the properties dialog box of the device)?
What is the exact description of the error code?
A PCI-GPIB installation do not need to reboot the OS if the NI-488.2 driver is correctly installed. The board should be recognized in MAX and you must be able to scan for instruments and start I/O communication with the device from test panels in MAX.
Update me as soon as you receive another feedback.
Regards.

  • Using a lan/hpib gateway (Agilent) with a NI GPIB pci card

Need to be able to use a E2050 lan/hp-ib gateway (Agilent) together with a NI GPIB pci card on the same workstation (windows). I need 2 seperate gpib busses but also need the remote functionality or the lan/hpib box. I would use ni enet but it will not work together with a installed gpib card, only one or the other. Read information on useing an hp card with a ni card in the same system but cannot get it to work with the lan box. I do not have a hp card to install in my computer to see if that works or not. Has anyone attempted a similar task?

    Hello-
It is possible to use a PCI and ENET board in Windows 9X/ME. The solution for Windows NT/2000 is to use the new VISA server technology using two computers.
    Computer A:
This is a computer that will not use a GPIB plug-in board, but is on the network. Install the GPIB-ENET/100 driver and VISA 2.6. Then, set the appropriate VISA server permissions and run VISAServer.exe (see the VISA Programmer's Reference for more details ni.com/manuals).
    Computer B:
Install the PCI-GPIB driver and VISA 2.6. Use Remote VISA to access the ENET/100 through the other computer's driver.
This is also a very useful technology for remotely controlling numerous instruments throughout a distributed laboratory.

  • Spontaneous Error Code 201003 for PCI DAQ Setup

In lab we have been using a BNC-2120 connector block plugged into a PCI-6033E.  The arrangement seemed to be functioning fine for preliminary testing and a first round of experimenting, though during that round we couldn't seem to get a signal from one of our channels.  A couple weeks later the LabView program no longer works, instead giving Error 201003.  The specific error reads:
Error -201003 occurred at DAQmx Create Channel (AI-Voltage-Basic).vi:1
    Possible reason(s):
Measurements: Device cannot be accessed.  Possible causes:
Device is no longer present in the system.
    Device is not powered.
Device is powered, but was temporarily without power.
    Device is damaged.
No apparent changes were made to the hardware or program prior to this error occurring.  It seems as if the computer no longer 'sees' the DAQ board.
In Measurement and Automation, the PCI 6033E Dev1 shows up under the Devices and Interfaces tab, but the symbol next to it has a small red x on it.  Right clicking on the device offers these options:  Rename, Delete, Device Pinouts, Properties, Help.  Self Test and everything are grayed, unavailable for selecting.
Restarting the computer does not work.  The power LED on the device is still lit.  I can find nothing in the Windows Device Manager that looks like the PCI card or connector block.
Are there any other steps I can take to troubleshoot this issue?  What are possible solutions?
    Thanks for any help.

    kastud,
I've got a couple of recommendations for you (please turn off your computer before moving cards around in PCI slots):
Make sure you have the NI-DAQmx driver installed.  You can check this under "Software" on the left side in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX).  If the driver isn't installed, you can download NI-DAQmx 8.7.2 from here.
Reseat the card in its PCI slot, then restart the computer and check to see if MAX recognizes the device.
Remove the card from it's current PCI slot and try it in another slot.  You may need to swap it with a different card if you don't have any more free slots.  Check the card in MAX using the above procedure.
Try the card in a different PC (install the DAQmx drivers on the new machine first) and see if that PC recognizes the card using the same procedure.
If the second slot recognizes the card, but the first slot doesn't, that PCI slot is bad/incompatible.
If the second computer recognizes the card, but the first doesn't, then
there is something wrong with the first computer, either
bad/incompatible PCI slots, motherboard, or other hardware.
If neither computer recognizes the card, you should call NI Support to determine if the card is still under warranty and to arrange for an RMA.
If we are able to get the card recognized in MAX on either machine:
Right click the device and select "Self Test".  Please post the results.
Download and run the DAQ Diagnostic Utility 2.0 and post the results.
Please let me know if you can get the card to be recognized by MAX and the results of these tests, then we can continue troubleshooting from there.

  • ERROR CODE 6 GPIB READ

    Hello,
I attach a VI that measures and displays Capacitance as a function of voltage swept at a "keithley 590" meter.  In the llb file attach, i am using the vi called "590-CV Measurement.vi"
I get the error "Error code 6 in GPIB Read  in 590-CV Meaurement.vi".
The VI is supposed to display data as a table and as a graph. I see the keithley instrument sweeping the voltage but no data is displayed and the error code 6 which means "I/O operation aborted" as per
    http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361B-01/lverror/gpib_error_codes/
is displayed. Could anyone please help me on what is wrong?
    Thanks a lot

    Hey Poli,
Thanks for the files.  I've been looking through the intrument driver and the spy file to correlate the behavior we're seeing with the function calls being made.  I would like you to try two things and let me know the results.
First open the 590 CV-Measurement.vi and view the block diagram.  In the Event Structure, select the "Run" event.  In here, on the second line of function calls you'll fine one labeled GPIB Read.  The top of this VI has a terminal for Timeout.  Create a numeric constant of value 0 and wire it to this terminal.  Run your program and see what behavior you see.
Once that test is done, delete the changes you made (the addition of the numeric constant).  Then change the numeric value connected to the same GPIB Read command to any value less than the 20000 it's set to (i.e. 10000 or something).  This will change the number of bytes the function is trying to call and hopefully prevent it from timing out.
Let me know what results you get.

Hi daus_95gen welcome to the forum, I don`t know what the error code means, Only lenovo will know that, What i do know is that it points to your graphics hardware, But don`t panic yet lol.
My suggestion is to go to the lenovo support site, Enter your laptop series name (in your case the G400) in the search engine & see if there are any driver updates for your pc, If there are download & install them.
Once the drivers are installed run another hardware test, If all goes well you should not see another error code.
Let us know how things work out.

  • Problems with GPIB-PCMCIA card

    Hi all
I am using a PCMCIA-GPIB with driver version 2.2 on a Windows XP with a PCI-to-PCMCIA Adapter from Ricoh (device manager says: Ricoh R/RL/RT/RC/5C475II,R5C520 or compatible cardbus controller).
The Win XP detects the card without any problems and there are no resource conflicts.
However, I cannot communicate with GPIB devices and the NI-488.2 Troubleshooting Wizard says:
    1. NI-488.2 Software Presence = verified
    2. GPIB Hardware Presence =
And then a new screen: "The trouble shooting wizard has detect that no GPIB interfaces are configured on your system"
Can someone help me? There are no resource conflicts and I have also tried changing the PCI slot. The same problem also occurred when I installed the card in
    another computer.
    Regards,
    Juan"

    Hello Juan,
the first thing I would do is to check that the board is working OK. You will need a laptop to test it.
Once this is confirmed (if not, contact NI for a repair), it can be safely attributed to some incompatibility with the adapter.
At that point, I would check with Ricoh as they may have an updated driver for their board that fixes the issue, or they may have an idea on what's going on. Another thing would be to check your PCs BIOS configuration and see if any setting may help into solving the incompatibility (PCI settings, IRQs, bus-mastering, etc..)
As side suggestions, although I don't feel this will be the issue:
a)it's always advisable to use the latest version on the driver software -NI-488.2-, available at the web
    b)check for an updat
e to the motherboard's BIOS at the manufacturer's site.

  • Upgrading the G3 /DT with USB PCI Card for Printer Connection

I would like to connect a Brother MFC-9160 laser printer to one of my Beige G3 /DT with Macintosh OS 9.2.2 installed.
There are two ways to do that: USB or Parallel. I don't know if Parallel adapters for Macintosh are available. This is the reason why I am favouring the solution of PCI USB upgrade.
The problem is that the few USB adapters I saw on sale on various French Mac warehouses were all USB 2.0 compliant, and required a Power Macintosh G3 /BW.
I suppose that a USB 2.0 compliant card is also de facto USB 1.1 compliant, but I am not sure. Besides the hardware issue, there is of course the problem of support on a Beige G3 for USB 1.1.
Could you please elaborate on the hardware which would run on a Beige G3? I am open to any friendly advice
    Frederic W. Erk

By the way I wonder if it would be possible to
connect to the laser printer through electricity
network. No cables, here because the building in 400
years old and too large. Wireless, he he... Not even
    worth speaking about it....
I'm not sure about what kind of electrical wiring you have available over there, or if these kind of products are compatible, but there are some options in the US for using the electrical outlets in a house to create a LAN network. With this kind of network you could use keep the printer on the B&W and turn on USB printer sharing. Printing from OS 9 on the G3 might not work with all printers. That kind of networking equipment is more costly than just adding a USB PCI card to the G3 to use the printer directly, but you might also be able to share a single high-speed internet connection that way. It all depends on what your needs are.
Is this what you were asking about?

  • Error Code with Livecycle forms, when opened online - how do I fix this?

Could you please tell me how to fix issue where when I make my forms available online, they open up with an error code?  I provide a link to a file, and when the user opens the file, it says there was an error - about a paragraph of text.  If they save the file, and then open again in Adobe Reader, it works fine.  But most of the time they think the file is corrupt, and don't want to download and save it to their computer.  Below is a screenshot of the problem, and it only happens when I open the file online.  And, I have already upgraded to the most recent version of Adobe, so why does this happen?

Oh, I found a great instruction page at Configure browser to use the Adobe PDF plug-in  That worked!  Thank you!

  • P4M Freezes with WiFI PCI Card

My PC freezes requiring a reboot.
This has occured since I recently replaced an IDE HDD with a SATA HDD.  The PC freezes pretty quicky;  sometimes when everything is up and running for a few minutes, othertimes at the XP logon screen
This is associated with my WiFi network PCI card (D-Link DWL-G520). Using an ethernet cable to my router everything works absolutely fine.
    Things I have tried:
MOBO BIOS is the latest version
WiFi card drivers are the latest
    Used both PCI slots
    Used both SATA sockets.
    All suggestions gratefully received!!

  • SP A10 with mini PCI card

    Help!
Have had a great deal of success with Toshiba however would like to use it in wireless mode. Have LAN mini PCI card switch yet can not find drivers on computer to enable it.
    Any suggestions
    Many thanks
    Steve

    Hi Steve
I'd say that it is likely that You do not have a built in WireLess mini PCI card then. Normally all devices are configured 100% when the machine comes from factory.
And even if the driver is missing You should have a device that was not configured in the device manager and You do not say anything about such a device so I guess there is none.
It is quite common that models are prepared for wireless LAN (like your possibly is) with a WiFi-switch and built in antennas.
    best regards

A better way is to route scanclock via RTSI from the 'master' to the 'slave'
    board.
in this way there is a constant delay (within one channel clock period)
    between channels on these boards.
You have to specify on the slave board that the scan clock comes from RTSI.
Don't forget to make the channel clocks identical.
Read the help of AI Clock Config (see inside AI start.vi)
You need 2 calls to AI Clock Config on the slave. One to set the Scanclock
and one to set the Channel clock)
If you need more accuracy you also have to route the board clock (20Mc) via
    RTSI.
Start the slave first, so that it is ready to receive clocks from the
    master. Then start the master.

  • P67A-C45 b3 don't boot with ITE8212 PCI card

    Hello
i was installing my all new motherboard P67A-C45 rev B3 with a core i5 2500K, 4gb of DDR3. No problem for installing all my SATA hard drives as well as Plextor BR writer. Windows seven recognizes everything and everything rules. I have setup the boot priority with plextor and then the SSD drive that have windows 7...Except that as a nostalgic person, i used to keep old IDE hard drives for storing files. For that i use a ITE8212 PCI card in order to have IDE slots. But when pci card is connected (on either of the 3 PCI slots), boot is "freezing". I just have an underscore on the screen and nothing else.
This pci card used to be ok on motherboard without UEFI... is there something that i do wrong ? a specific setup ? an incompatibility ?
Thanks for any help you could give me.

I'm not too concerned with the x8 limitation. Any idea about the video issue itself? It'd be nice to be able to choose which card to boot from without having to take one out or switch them around. I get the feeling that it's always going to use the first card it finds plugged in and just ignore the second card until the OS drivers take control. Mostly I just wanted to confirm that was the case and not just a problem with my own board.
Guess I'll work in getting my 6950 working under OS X, because it's too big to go into E5 without covering some PCI slot I need and also the headers for my power and reset buttons.
