Error Code 10810

Working on installation of new imac 20 dual core intel. Have transferred user files, folders, applications and network settings via firewire. During software updates, received spinning ball of death multiple times. After restarting software updates, finally got all updates installed, but now am getting "This application can't be launched....error 10810.
Any ideas.

Your computer has too many applications and processes open. If Windows File Sharing is turned on in the Sharing pane of System Preferences, turning it off except when required may help. If it doesn't, open the Activity Monitor in your /Applications/Utilities/ folder and check if three or more of the listed processes have the same name.

  • Error code -10810 when starting up any app

Getting error code -10810 when I click to start any app in the Application folder. Only thing different I did this morning was upgrading coconutBattery. I'm guessing that's the culprit but would like to know what the error code means.

    From LSInfo.h in LaunchServices.framework
    kLSUnknownErr = -10810 /* Unexpected internal error */
Essentially, Launch Services is hosed. I would suggest blowing away your Launch Services cache.
    1) Quit all running apps
    2) Go to /Library/Caches
    3) Move any file to the trash that has "com.apple.LaunchServices" in its name. (i.e. 'com.apple.LaunchServices-0230.csstore')
    4) Go to ~/Library/Preferences
    5) Move com.apple.LaunchServices.plist to the Trash
    6) Restart
    Hope that helps.

  • Error Code -10810.  What is that all about?

I have been receiving a window with all applications saying that I cannot run the app and has a error code -10810 after the computer has been on for more than a few hours. I need to restart the entire Mac Book Pro to get the apps to work.
I am currently running the latest versions of Leopard, iLife/iWork, CS3, etc. Everything got a software update.
    Any help out there?

That means there are too many applications and processes currently running for another to be opened. After a restart, launch the Activity Monitor in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder and see if one process is listed many times, keeping it open until that error appears.

  • Unanticipated Error (error code -10810)

I would very much appreciate iff someone could direct me to where I can obtain information on Mac OS X system error codes -and- specifically error code -10810.
I Have spent several hours searching through the labyrinthine Apple Customer Support site (e.g., Discussions forums, and etc.) as well as the Apple Developer Connection site without success in running down a definative reference for OS X system error codes, or the specific error code (-10810).
REASON FOR REQUEST: Recently, the following error is frequently occurs.
"The operation could not be completed. An unanticipated error occurred (error code -10810)."
    -and-
"The application "xxx.app" cannot be launched. An unanticipated error occurred (error code -10810)."
(where xxx is the name of whatever App. am attempting to launch)
Restarting the computer temporarily "cures' the error problem, but the problem eventually reoccurs.
SYSTEM: Mac Pro, OSX 10.4.11 with all current updates (security, etc.). 10Gb RAM.
Disk Utility verify of startup HD showed no problems/errors. Permissions checked and repaired - appear OK.

    iBod, Kappy - good day.
Thank you for assistance - much appreciate.
Have apparently fixed the problem, but in a seemingly unusual way.
Had nagging feeling that the problem was in permissions as was also seeing 'glitches' accessing directories (Admin and Non-Admin modes).
    Here is what I did:
BACKGROUND: Had problems with Leopard 10.5.1 (installed on a second internal HD) with the Finder restarting when trying to adjust permissions. Found the following article referenced on Discussions Forums for Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard:
"Mac OS X 10.5: Finder may restart when trying to change file permissions"
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=307128
Following the instructions in article fixed the permissions problem in Leopard.
APPARENT SOLUTION TO SUBJ LAUNCHER PROBLEM:
Applied same solution to Tiger (10.4.11) as recommended (extract next under) for Leopard. In Terminal (Admin account):
sudo dscl . create /Groups/username GroupMembership username
    [return]
sudo dscl . change /Groups/username RecordName username _username
    [return]
Replace the "username" with your account username (which is also the name of the user's Home folder, in the Users folder). Remember to include the underscore "_" before your user name in the second command. If you have more than one account on the computer affected by this issue, you should run these two commands again for each account, substituting with the appropriate user name each time.
Note - I found that you must type username exactly the same as is indicated on your home directory icon (same case and etc.).
I then restarted and used disk utility to verify/fix Tiger startup HD permissions. Been using Mac for several hours now without any recurrence of -10810 error.
This rates a cautiously optimistic Hooah!
    Again thanks for assist. v/r

  • What Is Error Code 10810?

Suddenly when I click on any apps in my Dock, I get an error message that the application can't be opened and an error code 10810. Even when I tried to reinstall apps (iLife, for example) from the install disk, I get the same error message.
I recently re-built my hard drive after a crash.
Some apps are already open and seem to be fine. I can't be sure whether all the other apps have been disabled since I rebuilt the hard drive or if they worked at one time.

I did not have any processes called smbd, but I did have a ton -- probably 100 -- called airinstallapp (or something close to that) that were apparently the result of my trying to install an application that required Adobe AIR.
I quit all those processes and am planning to restart to see if that did the trick but am backing a couple of things up first just in case.
Will let you know, and thanks.

  • I uninstalled and reinstalled but at the end of installation there were erros.  See attached screen shot.  I now cannot open the application.  error code 10810 comes up when I try to open.

I could not update photoshop CS6 and Jeff from forum advised unistalling and reinstalling (Tk93580659). Mac OSX. In real trouble, as suggested I uninstalled and reinstalled but at the end of installation there were errors.  See attached screen shot.  Now I cannot open the application.  Error code 10810 comes up when I try to open (see 2nd screenshot).  Please help.  I have now lost photoshop altogether whereas previous at least I still could use it but could not update.  Thank you for any help to instal successfully.  Dr Koh

Still looking for a solution to specific installation errors (see screeshot) referring to "Language Pack installation failure":
ERROR: DW050: The following payload errors were found during install:
ERROR: DW050: - Adobe Photoshop CS6 Core: Failed due to Language Pack installation failure
ERROR: DW050: - Adobe Photoshop CS6 International English Language Pack_AdobePhotoshop13-en_GB: Install failed
Unfortunately previous advice of using CCS cleaner tool, and suggestions from links for 1) "exit code 6 and 7" and 2) "Troubleshoot instal logs" did not work at all. So I am desparate to fix this because I have spent a lot of money purchasing Photoshop CS6 but have no functioning program. Surely Adobe can help solve this problem with installing, or else it means a lot of money spent on Photoshop CS6 for nothing. I am appealing directly to Adobe to help because I have come to the end of my options. I thank the forum for their suggestions but so far the solution for this specific "Language Pack installation failure" problem is missing. Thank you.

  • Error code 10810 mac

a few days ago I purchased and download Creative Cloud for students. I am trying to open After Effects and I keep getting this APP can't be opened error code 10810. Any ideas?

    FIX:
Everytime I tried to open AE CC i get the - 10810 Mac error saying can't open application
10810 error means that there's too much programs on in the background and there isnt enough space left to start AE CC.
MY MAC: MAcbook retina display 8gb ram
So to fix this you have to
    1. Start Adobe After Effects Render Engine (render engine dosn't require much ram to open and its the only thing linked to AE CC)
    2. Go After Effects on top left corner > Preferences > Memory and Multiprocessing
    3. Set Ram reserved for other Apps to 7gb so that it only requires 1gb for AE, click ok and close the application
4.Now try start After Effects, it should start, now you can change the ram back to the settings you had before, but i think its recomended that you set it to 4gb
This worked for me and after that I could update everything.
I don't really know how this seemed to work, but it did.. so yah

  • Unable to open applications: error code -10810

For some reason I have started to have problems opening up applications after my computer has been on for around 10 minutes. I am able to open up apps at startup, but after they've been running for a while, if I try to open additional apps (from either the doc or the apps folder) I get a pop-up error window with the code "-10810". This number shows up in all the error windows.
I've tried to do some research on this and found a couple of articles saying to delete the following:
    /Library/Caches/com.apple.LaunchServices.6B.csstore
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.LaunchServices.plist
(where '~' means your Home directory, i.e. '/Users/yourname')
but I don't have this particular file.
Can anyone help me? This problem just started today, but I've been running Leopard for about a month now.

Was able to startup TM again my pressing the Control key while clicking the TM app icon. A pop-up menu appeared from which TM Preferences was selected. It appears that error code -43 is akin to a external HD that is not mounted. All is well again

  • Error Code 10810 Limbo

I have checked many forums for the past 3 days now (this just happened to me recently)and nothing works so far.
Basically I have one app I can't open (Photoshop Elements 2.0). I have checked the activity monitor and can't find any outstanding processes running. It shows I have 45 running. I have also tried deleting the LaunchServices.6B.csstore file (however after restarting it comes back). Im afraid I will start to lose other apps if I can't get this resolved quick. There also seems to be a link to people who leave the computer on for a long period of time...just something I've noticed in the forums. Any help is greatly appreciated.

In my machine, I have traced the problem to a bug in Microsoft IntelliPoint Mouse Driver Software Version 6.0 (v.147).
The problem manifests itself when the wireless mouse battery is running low. When this happens, the Mouse Driver causes a dialog box to appear on the screen letting you know that your mouse is critically low. It has a way of dismissing the alert or postponing it until later.
The problem is that neither of these function properly. If I postpone or dismiss, the Driver software immediately spawns a new dialog, over and over and over.
I like to run my batteries down completely, so I moved the alert into the background. This is when things started to act up and I started to get the 10810 messages.
When I replaced my batteries in the mouse, the dialog boxes stoppped and the error 10810 stopped.

  • Error Code  "-10810" under 10.5.7

    G'day folks,
While troubleshooting a printer issue I am happening I was reminded of another problem I am having...every now and then my macbook will decide that it doesnt want to open any more programs (with only firefox, entourage and powerpoint running). I get an error saying:
"The application "insert app name" cannot be launched.
    -10810
    Any suggestions?
    Cheers, Brett

The following have been suggested as possible solutions:
    1. Get rid of the following:
    /Library/Caches/com.apple.LaunchServices-####.csstore (#### is a number)
    /Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.LaunchServices.plist
    2. If you have Virex or other virus software installed, try uninstalling it. Be sure to use uninstallers that come with the software because simply deleting the application does not fully uninstall most virus software.
After deleting the referenced files above you will want to do a restart. Then use Disk Utility in your Utilities folder to repair permissions.

  • Cannot delete file from external hard drive (error code 36) in Finder, but Terminal is ok

I have a relatively new Macbook Pro Retina 15" and have a Western Digital 1 TB Passport.  I've been using the passport for about a year now without any problems on older Macbooks in my house.  I used to be able to read and write to this drive no problem.  I am using the Paragon NTFS for Mac software in order to read and write to the NTFS drive.  When I navigate through the drive in Finder, if I try to create a new folder, I do not have a problem.  If I try to delete that folder I just created, I get this error:
The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “untitled folder” can’t be read or written.
    (Error code -36)
The folder has nothing in it whatsoever.  I just created it.  But if I go to Terminal and I run
    rm -rf "untitled folder"
This works fine.  Why is Terminal acting different than Finder?  This does not happen on my other Macbooks.  Thanks in advance.

Thanx for such qucik reply!!! The pages were great, it had an answer for my problem, but unfortunately it also involved me dealing with it only on the MacIntosh HD itself, not on mounted external drive I suppose... So it didn't work they say that there is an icon in the left corner indicating locked folder - I don't see any icon on it. It says you can untick the box to unlock the folder - there is no tick to be unticked. Finally, they say that if I don't have permition or rights I cannot delete it. But how do i change permittion which already says that i can read and write in it? So everything appears to be normal only I cannot delete it. there is not even any warnig telling me I don't have enough rights, it just requires the password and after me typing it in it makes the sound of scraping paper but does nothing more. I aslo had some problems with emptying Trash after being seemingly succesful with one file and had got so far to have them appear in the Trash (no clue how this one actully got there though..) I followd the advice and emptied the Trash with Terminal. The Folder is still there but it shows 0 Kb... So far so good BUT: It is still on the external drive, so I obviously only managed to copy it into the Trash!!! Phew, innit a bit too tight to poor owners, this macbook?? I want my rights back!

  • There was a recent upadate on my PC, however it does not work. A error code comes up which says, min version is not compatible with max version. And I caanot open my browser. Please help.

I do a system restore which allows me to open my browser. Without this I cannot open my browser - the error code comes up every time.

    Do a clean (re)install
    * Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    * Don't remove personal data when uninstalling.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
