Error Code 1612 received when trying to install the latest Adobe reader 9.3.3

I am using Windows XP service pack 3 along with Office 2007.  Presently have Adobe Reader 9.3.2 and 9.3.2 - CPSID_53951 (the update installed on 4/16/10).  Reader ver. 9.3.3 automatically downloaded as it should, but when I try to install I get the message code 1612 which refers that the Windows Installer Service could not be accessed.  I tried to unstall the Reader 9.3.2 and it will not uninstall.  Saw the previous answers regarding downloading the Windows Installer Clean-Up Kit and one made mention not to use it with Office 2007 products.
Can you tell me how I should proceed?  Sure don't won't to mess up my computer or other programs.
Thank you.

Thank you for the information.  It appears there are different versions of the clean-up utility - do you recommend one over the other are a particular website that you trust?
Again, thanks for any information that you can give me.

  • Error message I receive when trying to install Quicktime 7.3...

I keep receiving this error message when trying to install Quicktime 7.3. I have removed anything Apple or QuickTime from Add/Remove, but at the end of the installation I keep getting this error mesage:
"The older version of QuickTime could not be removed. Contact your technical support group".
I have no clue what to do to resolve the issue and the software is paid for and has been useless for months due to this error. I'm completely out of ideas. Can someone please help me? I have called tech support but after about 7 hours of help and escalations and everything elser, Apple can't even fix it. The unit is clean, COMPLETELY!
Thank you in advance for any help I am given.
    Cheers

+BTW, while on the phone with tech support, I used the MS tool "Windows Install Cleanup", which I'm sure deals with the MSI stuff.+
Yeah, that's usually most helpful (immediately) when you get your message in conjunction with a missing QuickTime.msi message. The "standalone" version of your message tends to be a bit trickier to deal with.
Lets head back into Windows CleanUp one more time, to check on a possibility.
Launch CleanUp ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). Are there any mysterious blank lines (or lines containing just a version number, but not mentioning a name of any program) showing up in the list of programs in CleanUp?

  • I receive an error message when trying to install the latest Itunes program on my computer using windows 7, 64. I receive the message, "service  apple mobile device fails to start"

What must I do to install the latest Itunes program using windows 7, 64. The program stops when the service portion is installing and states, "Service Apple mobile division fails to start"

Well, shucks, i just spent almost 30 minutes trying to find your model user guide to explain it better, I guess they never got around to making it.....
I would just borrow another Windows disk and try installing it again and if it does it again then you might take it to an Apple Store and see if one of the "Genius' " can figure it out.
Make sure your internet is enabled and click on your blank desktop and at the top of your screen is a Help menu option, enter PRAM and it should give you a list of things relating to Pram. It may take a few seconds to list anything as it has to connect to Apples severs first. It should list the things you may have to fill back in when your done.
"P-ram" stores some common information that is used in the background, your date, time, startup disk, etc, that you don't have to re-fill when you restart, it's a little different for each computer.

  • Photoshop elements 10 - error code exit 7 when trying to install on MAC OSX

A joke, I got this for christmas and cannot install it onto my computer, therefore cannot use it.  I get exit code 7 and have tried to install it by creating another administrator but still no success. And of course its Sunday so cannot get hold of support over the phone. Has anyone had the same issue and if so do you have any idea how to resolve it?  I feel a bit frustrated and would have thought a company such as ADOBE would have a better support system in place.   Thanks for any advice or tips in advance.

After uninstallation , check whether any file has been left and delete it in above mentioned thread. For convenience you can use the following way-
    1. Press CMD+Shift+H -> Library->Application support -> Adobe Now delete Elements Organizer and Photoshop Elements  specific files
2.- Press CMD+Shift+C -> Select your OS Drive-> Library ->Appication Support->Adobe , Now again delete Elements Organizer and Photoshop Elements  specific files
Before Trying step1 and 2 , first make sure that in Activity monitor Organizing Sync Agent should not be running. If yes then kill it.

When trying to download the latest version of iTunes, I receive the following error "Apple Application Support was not found", any suggestions?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if one component, such as Apple Application Support, won't install normally.
